Not one.
As far as I can tell, I’ve got nothing to lose by loving these people.
And I have a new fight in me now too. That’s Brooke. She did that. She’s a fighter. I think that’s why Huck, and Wald, and I never sorted anything out. We were waiting for her. She was missing and somehow we all knew it.
So this is it. The interlude before the end game.
I have no idea what’s coming next but I have hope, and a feeling inside me that everything will work out the way it should, and that there’s calm, fun nights on the beach yet to come.
The sun is setting for real now. The colors forming in a swirl of lazy clouds. Sometimes it’s purple, sometimes it’s yellow, sometimes, it’s red, or orange.
But not tonight.
Tonight it’s pink.

THE DIRTY ONES
END OF BOOK SHIT
Welcome to the End of Book Shit where I get to say anything I want about the book. Sometimes it’s rant-y but most of the time it’s not. lol It’s never edited because I write this last minute just before I upload. So if you see a typo in here, pretend it never happened. :)
For Bossy Jesse EOBS there was quite a long rant and my audio publisher author liaison was just emailing me last week about recording that EOBS for the audiobook. I told her I wasn’t sure if I wanted to record myself ranting but she said you guys would form a pitch-fork uprising if I didn’t so… we’ll see. It’s not due for another 8 days so I have time to think on that.
I don’t really have anything to rant about in this one. So it’s just going to be all about the book, the brothers, the ladies, and the future!
One thing I did mention in the Bossy Jesse EOBS was that I plotted it out and then everything changed. That’s pretty typical for me. I would not call myself a “pants-ter” which is the author term for someone who writes “by the seat of their pants” – meaning, they do not plot. They let the story take them wherever it leads without thinking it through before they start writing.
I always plot something. I always have a bare-bones skeleton of where I’m headed and I almost always know the ending. If not the specifics, then a general idea of where it’s gonna end up. But I do like to let the story unfold naturally. I am a very linear writer. Meaning I do no skip scenes. I don’t say to myself “Oh, this is a great scene. Let me write this and I’ll figure out how it fits in later.”
No. I often do have scenes in my head. Really good, pivotal scenes. But I don’t ever write them ahead of time and then try to fit the story around the scene. I have only ever done that once and it was a very long time ago when I was writing the fourth Junco book called Range. I wrote some flashbacks for that book totally out of sequence but the only reason I did that was because I was planning on releasing them free on my website as blog posts.
They were not part of the book when I first started plotting it. Just interesting flashbacks so readers could get a better understanding of Junco’s past. But I soon realized that they were necessary for the main story and weren’t just an “aside”. So I fit them into the book after I came to that conclusion.
But I never did that again because as a writer looking for the best story possible I am always willing to cut things out. I’m always willing to stop and say, “This isn’t working. I need a new way forward.” And if I write these “special scenes” ahead of time the likelihood of me being able to throw them away if they don’t work later is much lower. Once you put time and effort into a scene you want to use it. That’s only natural.
And sometimes it’s a bummer when I have a certain scene mapped out for a book and two thirds of the way through the story I realize it’s not going to work. But because I write so many stories I usually just file that scene away to use in another story.
This scene with Brooke and the self-help audiobooks in the beginning was a discarded “idea” that was thrown out of another book. I came up with this character sketch of a woman addicted to self-help audiobooks about a year ago. I think I was originally going to use it for the Pleasure of Panic book but… didn’t work. Issy, the main girl in that story, didn’t need the self-help books. She was a self-help guru. So the idea to base a character off that got put aside until Brooke came along.
I did this with In To Her too. The original woman I had mapped out for that book was someone totally different. I mean TOTALLY different. Not even close. I have not used that character yet but she’s interesting, so I might have a book for her in the future.
I love the threesome relationship between Joey, Huck, and Wald in this book and these guys definitely deserve more page time. But at almost 87,000 words, this book needed to end. There will be more of them coming though.
The girl-power theme I started in Jesse’s book continued into Joey’s. Emma and Brooke were both knights on white horses. Both took control of their own futures (in more ways than one) and handled shit in the end. And I’m loving that.
Will Johnny’s heroine do the same?
Not gonna tell! :)
One thing I needed to do in this book, and I think I accomplished it, was to make sure Johnny wasn’t the bad guy everyone saw him as. Well, he is. But… some of it is out of his control. Because his story is up next and it’s going to be a fast-paced, crazy erotic, love-story adventure. And the woman who can tame Johnny Boston needs to be someone very fuckin’ special.
At the moment I am in the middle of writing two series. This Bossy Brothers series and the Harem Station series. It’s been a while since I wrote series books. At least ones that were planned to be both long and connected. I probably haven’t done a long, mysterious, sexy series like this since the Misters back in 2016. Taking Turns was a series but only three books and they are mostly standalone books. There is no long twisted mystery threaded through the whole story like the Misters. Jordan’s game was also a four-book standalone series.
So… can I just say… wow. I’ve missed writing connected series. It’s a lot harder to write a long connected series than it is to write a standalone one. So many little details to keep track of. I’ll probably talk more about this in the Prison Princess book EOBS because book five is a whole other level of story writing compared to standalone books and series.
Bossy Joey was a little bit plotted, a little bit pants-ed, and ended up being about 14,000 words longer than I had anticipated when I sent it to my editor. And that’s because of the mystery. In Jesse’s OEBS I had mentioned that I wasn’t sure how long this series would be. Maybe three, or four, or possibly even as many as seven. Depending on whether or not I wanted to bring the Dumas bothers into things.
And I think I’ve decided on at least four books and probably will continue with the Dumas brothers. I’m enjoying this series a lot. I like the mystery, I like the characters, and I like the world. If you haven’t guessed, Johnny’s book is up next and will probably release in September.
One of the reasons I’m going to keep it going, aside from the fact that I’m enjoying it, is because after I finish Johnny’s book in a couple of weeks I’m going to start a NEW series that will begin releasing in January 2020 with a cover reveal and pre-order up in October.
This one is a dark erotic romance. Long, sensual, mysterious, suspenseful, MMFM reverse harem book with lots of twisted mind-fucks built in. And that series will not go into Kindle Unlimited. If you only pick up my books because you get the books free in your KU subscription, that’s totally cool and fine. This is why I’m going to keep the Bossy Brothers series and the Harem Station Sci-Fi romance series going. Both of those series will remain in KU, as will all spin-offs of those worlds. So you can keep reading for free as part of your KU subscription.
But when I went into KU at the beginning of 2019 I told everyone it was for one year and then I’d see what happens. Well, I’m happy in KU but I’m not comfortable having all my books on o
ne platform. So the new dark romance coming up, and everything that spins off that new series, will all release wide.
So if you like what I write and want to join me on a very long, erotic series with a big world, and twisted fucked up mysteries then I hope you jump over to the wide series next year and take a chance on it.
If you’re not sure what kind of book I’m talking about when I say “Long, sensual, mysterious, suspenseful” stories, think Three, Two, One and Taking Turns, and The Company. That’s what I will be releasing wide starting in January 2019. And with the exception of Taking Turns, all of those books are currently in KU. So if you haven’t picked them up, you can do that now. I cannot guarantee that all those books will remain in KU—Taking Turns series is already wide again—but they will stay there for a little while. I will say that The Misters will be coming out of KU at the end of September. So if you have not yet read that series and want to get it as part of your KU subscription, do it now.
So just to be clear – New Bossy Brothers books and new Harem Station books will all release in Kindle Unlimited and remain there for the foreseeable future. All other new releases will publish wide on all platforms I typically do business with.
Nothing will change with audiobooks. Every book will always have an audiobook. Most of them will not release at the same time as the eBook due to scheduling, but the new dark romance books coming in 2020 WILL release in eBook, paperback, and audiobook at the same time. I will be working extra hard this fall to make sure that happens.
OK, I think that’s it for now. The next book releasing in August is Prison Princess – Book Five in the Harem Station Series. Not a standalone. And then Bossy Johnny’s book will release some time in September.
If you enjoyed this book PLEASE take time to leave a review. I’m still INDIE and all indie authors need your review more than ever!
Thank you for reading, thank you for reviewing, and I’ll see you in the next book!
