She approached cautiously, cupped her hands against the front glass to make sure no one was home, then gave the area a quick look to see if someone was lying in wait to catch her in the act. It seemed safe. It seemed utterly and entirely set up for her, so she keyed in her entry code — unchanged, another sign that it was meant to be — and went inside to discover the vast majority of the treasure Tanis had loaded up was still there. Whoever had stolen it from Wyrrick’s planet must have flown it here and left it behind when they moved on.

“Well. How do you like that? Everything works out in the end.”

She secured the ship before she got into the pilot’s seat. She had to adjust its position a bit; whoever had sat there last had been extremely tall. She took off quickly, leaving the planet behind in case anyone else had designs on taking the ship for themselves. Plotting an actual destination could wait for the moment. She tried to think of where she would go next, what rumors she would chase down. She had a few irons in the fire, loads of opportunities to increase her wealth. And just unloading what she had in the cargo hold would take her a few months. After that, there were really no limits.

Maybe she could swing by and see what the Tau’ri were up to after the war? She had a few Ancient artifacts she thought Daniel Jackson might find interesting. And if he was reluctant, she had some Goa’uld artifacts that could force him to stay by her side. Worst case scenario, she might have a chance to get Tanis’ Kull warrior armor back to settle things between them. She hated being in anyone’s debt.

Vala rubbed her hands together and began entering coordinates. It was settled: she would get rid of the excess souvenirs from Wyrrick’s collection, then she would use the funds to bankroll information that could get her through the Tau’ri’s iris. All in all it should take a few months, if that, to get everything prepared. And whatever happened when she got there, she had no doubt it would be an adventure.

She grinned and set out for a reliable fence who could start bankrolling her next quest.

“Get ready, Daniel Jackson. Your life is about to take a turn for the exciting.”
