Bleed for It
They have a moment in time and a second chance at a passion-fueled ride… are you ready?
Axel
There isn’t a single memory in my life that doesn’t involve the Hellions Motorcycle Club.
I’m the son of Drexel “Rex” Crews, and I was raised by Andy “Shooter” Jenkins. Two strong men who taught me to never give in and never give up. What should have torn two brothers apart, brought us all together.
I am Axel “Double” Crews.
My loyalty runs deep, knows no bounds, and can never be shaken.
Yesnia
I don’t remember how to relax.
I am Yesnia Dominguez Almanza.
I was born in chaos to become a mighty storm.
Their love knows no time or distance. Only loyalty and passion fuel this ride.
Axel
I’ve lived day in and day out without her. Then the call came. The one that changed me forever.
I stayed by her side.
Until she pushed me away.
I want to go back.
I want to show her how good we can be.
If only she could believe in second chances …
Author Note
Dear Reader,
Bleed for It is the only book in the second-generation Hellions MC that fully crosses over into another set of books.
While this book is separate from the Almanza Crime Family Duet, this book is best read after Hellions Ride On Prequel, Cartel Bitch, and Cartel Queen—in that order.
For the readers who have read Cartel Bitch and Cartel Queen you know who Yesnia is and how she factors into Axel’s life. I have tried to recap the three books that build into this one as little as possible while still giving enough back story so new readers understand who Yesnia is. The Introduction section of this book will cross the span from where Cartel Bitch leaves off and before Bleed for It begins. This section is added to enhance the reading experience of Axel and Yesnia.
The rest of the Hellions Ride On series only ties back with characters from the original Hellions Ride series and will not spin off in any wa
y to another series. Each book in the Hellions Ride On series is written to be an interconnected stand-alone except Bleed for It due to the crossover with the Almanza Crime Family Duet.
Writing Cartel Bitch and Cartel Queen is actually what sparked my desire to write the second-generation Hellions MC, so that is why Bleed for It ties to those books.
I hope you enjoy Axel and Yesnia as much as I do!
Much Love,
Chelsea
Part 1
Introduction
Axel
One phone call changes the entire course of my life.
Life is the road before me.
Some parts aren’t yet paved.
One thing is for sure, I ride with the Hellions Motorcycle Club.
Ride until I motherfucking die.
I escort her to the steps. The door flies open and her mother barrels out to her, wrapping her in her arms muttering in Spanish.
The love between them is real. Yesnia is trembling in her arms happy to see her mother once again.
I don’t understand the dynamic here. One thing I know in my young life don’t step in someone else’s shit. I have a job to do, deliver Yesnia without forcing or coercing her.
I find the request strange since Javier Almanza blackmailed her into coming. I didn’t have to force her, the love for her mother and concern for her safety did all the work for me.
Javier Almanza is a Cartel Kingpin. He’s used to getting his way one way or another. This leaves me feeling uneasy for Yesnia’s future under the tyrant.
Unfortunately, this situation well, not my monkeys, not my circus as the saying goes so I have to stand down. Discipline is something I’ve never lacked. Maybe it’s the way I grew up in my formative years with a single mom. I never wanted to make things any harder on her. Maybe it’s the men in my life from my dad Drexel “Rex” Crews, Catawba Hellions Charter President or my step-dad Andy “Shooter” Jenkins who is the calm in the midst of every storm. He’s still a badass when necessary, but he’s the quiet level lethal that makes him more dangerous.
Mostly, I am the man I am because of the Hellions Motorcycle Club. In this life, I earned every patch. In doing so it taught me patience, dedication, determination, loyalty, and as hard as it may seem to believe—obedience.
Bikers in general get a bad reputation. Except the level of commitment it takes to truly become a Hellion requires obedience and respect to the hierarchy. We aren’t a bunch of heathens running around doing what the fuck we want. We have laws within our organization that hold more weight to each brother than some fucking bullshit a politician wrote into law.
Needless to say right now, I’m a man torn.
I’m torn between my gut telling me to scoop Yesnia up caveman style and take her back home and doing what I was ordered to do by my club.
Unless Yesnia specifically communicates directly to me her desire to leave, I have to let her stay. If she says she wants out the club will back me with any means necessary. However, if I just go off half-cocked based on my instincts, well the club would take my back, but there would most certainly be hell to pay later for going rogue.
Javier stands behind her, with an envelope in his hand extending it to me. I don’t want his fucking money so I don’t take it. The job was arranged and paid for, I don’t want or need a tip. Usually on a transport we are given half the payment up front and the remainder once our client is assured they have received their merchandise according to their expectations.
It is a business transaction, period.
This, well, this is not a normal transport.
The Hellions are not into kidnapping or human trafficking so yes, Javier Almanza paid in full up front along with his assurance she would be allowed to call off the trip at any point in time.
So I wait. Hoping she will make the move to end this and return back to North Carolina with me.
Javier gives me a nod, a sign of my dismissal.
I don’t leave.
I’m rooted in place. The man looks sinister, but the way he is watching these two women tells me there is more behind his scars. The look he’s giving me is menacing.
The way he stares at both Dominguez women is with adoration.
Interesting.
Yesnia pulls away from her mother and looks to me. “I’m good, Axel, you can leave me.”
It doesn’t feel right.
She looks to Javier. She studies him for a moment. Something in her face changes … almost as if she is recognizing something I can’t read or she simply knows some secret I don’t. “He won’t hurt me,” she explains confidently as if she knows I am concerned for her safety.
I’m glad one of us can feel confident about this because it damn sure isn’t me.
I start to move away and its Javier who speaks. “I will have her call you, Hellion. This way you can see I truly mean her no harm.”
I nod but still make no full retreat. I can’t explain it. I can’t walk away.
Yesnia steps to me her hands rest on the front of my cut. Her thumb traces my name patch “Double”. It hits me, I never even got to tell her where my roadname comes from. Once again we spent time together and I’m going to walk away feeling empty and not having shared enough of everything with her. “Axel, I promise to be in touch,” she tells me quietly.
“Your father warned me you were the kind of man who wouldn’t leave a damsel in distress,” Javier speaks to me. I’m glad he knows the kind of man I am. Because I won’t just leave her easily. “Yesnia is in no danger. No harm will come to my daughter.”
The air around us all electrifies. Yesnia gasps and tears fall down her face. That’s what she was reading. This strange connection I watched unfold mere seconds ago now makes sense.
His daughter.
My father allowed the request for me because he knows what it is to lose years with a child. He had years without me. He would have a soft spot for Almanza.
Fuck.
While I understand now why we helped him, this whole thing still doesn’t sit right with me.
“Go,” she whispers. “I need space and time with my mother. I promise to call you.”
I want to scream and perch myself in place so Yesnia won’t be alone as she sorts out her life truths. But coming from the family I do, knowing the way my story unfolded, I also understood very well the reasons for not allowing a stranger into family business.
Reluctantly, I press a kiss to her forehead before I back away. At the bottom of the steps, I look back up to her. “Yesnia, I’ll be back for you. One call, and I’ll be back for you.”
Her eyes meet mine in promise. “This isn’t goodbye.”
Yesnia
Burning pain.
Shock.
My uncle.
My father.
My mother.
I hit the concrete beneath me. My blood poured out and everything closes down. Darkness.
The void wraps me up and I allow it as my heart processes my father was never my enemy.
“Life came in like taking breaths. Some were short, some were long. Some were light, some were heavy. Today you are my breath. Tomorrow you are my life. I may not know you, but my heart knows you.” My father’s words became my healing balm.
My heart knows many things.
I hear the noises around me, but I feel stuck in place. We didn’t get enough time.
I have so many questions.
Every inch of me hurts. Every breath is agony.
Then I realize why I’m in pain.
Tio shot me.
“Axel,” I croak out.
My heart wants Axel. He said one call and he would be back for me. “Axel,” I say again without opening my eyes.
I don’t say it again as I promptly pass out.
Axel
Rolling out from under Hawk’s 1959 Chevy El Camino, I am filthy. The car has seen better days and is far from it’s prime. However, the ’59 has a unique look that isn’t found in the later models. When Hawk finishes it’s going to be
a badass beast on the street.
I made it home from Chicago yesterday and had the day off. I’m still uneasy and, truthfully, want to get back on my bike and head north, but I would be breaking the code in business to let a man handle his own shit. Yesnia has my number and she will call if she needs me.
Therefore, I need to stay busy.
“Found the leak, brother,” I state. Getting up from the dolly I move to toolbox. “Gonna have to order some shit.”
“You good, I’ll leave it here?” he asks and I nod.
