Let us be virtuous and kind to each other
Reach out bring peace with your presence
Encourage good things they always make sense
Claim your freedom use it for upliftment use it good
Set others free lead them to where they ought to be
With pride honor your esteem vows and pledges
Hallowed ground that’s where you now stand
Fill the sacred place in your heart with heavenly thoughts
So much you have found yet some have been lost
As you wrestle with the insurmountable cost
Of things accomplished and some not yet done
Believe in your savior watch your behavior
Be of high spirit carry out your massive gratifying task
You will be rewarded for your work well done
Your assessment is ongoing by those who should
Make peace in your heart earn your forgiveness
Return to a peaceful fulfilling life with all its promise
Of dignity harmony and independence be good to life
REGULAR AFFAIR
He was having an affair and she did not know
She was in a relationship and he did not detect
He spent nights at her apartment she said he is at work
She spent Saturdays with him he said she is doing overtime
He was a king with two thrones
She was a queen in two worlds
There are silver threads among the gold
As the tangled web got twisted some more
Time is wasted when in anxiety
They try to separate the fickle strands
Jenny’s got a secret boyfriend
It is dangerous everyone knows
Robert he is going steady with Helen
But it is shaky because there is also Mavis
Daddy he is over there hanging out with Elaine
Mummy she is in Daddy’s den talking to Shane
They try hard to conceal their devious dealings
What would their relationship be like if they knew it?
Their cocky minds tell them they fool the world
With deceitful mentality and agility
If they were clever they would know
Secrecy is like an indomitable avowed sin
It has no lot or part in the sanctity of heaven
It is their sordid surreptitious affairs
That the friends hanging out down the street
Speaking in hushed tones are gossiping and talking about
SALLY BLUE
She’s sitting there, staring at pictures of you
You went away and left her, now she is blue
Nothing in her head, just memories and images of you
Worry, worry, worry that’s all she do
Little Sally, Little Sally Blue
I want to help you, what should I do?
Engraved in my heart are images of you
I Love you, Sally, Little Sally Blue
The wind is blowing sweet fragrance of you
Nostalgic smell to my senses too
Heartbroken, what can I do
I ache for this love, I’m hurting not just you
Alone in this world, there’s room for two
You cried when he left and curled up in bed
Would not come out no matter what is said
Not eating, not drinking, it’s all about thinking
The tears in your eyes are starting to smart
The ache in your heart, that’s where it all starts
Endless flow streaming from hazy, bloodshot eyes
WILD HORSES
Run with wild horses existence so free
Across open prairies and meadows we’ll flee
Glorified exhilaration building in me
Loving every moment so good to be free
The whole world with different eyes at last I see
Freedom in abundance just waiting for me
To run with wild horses
A freedom so free
Love in abundance building in me
Blue skies are endless as far as I see
Just like a blanket covering me
In this place of freedom I want to be
A son of a gun that’s the one I be
Without responsibility even due care
It’s in my heart I’ll find you here
Running with wild horses
Domesticated prisoner of freedom
Ecstatic wild and free
SPINNING CIRCLES
Spinning in circles looking out to sea
Venting feelings pent up in me
Grumbling and mumbling
No words or syllables incoherent I be
Trends of life slowly killing me
Oh me oh my it’s happening to me
Hum diddy dum
Hum diddy dee
Look at you laughing at me
Sitting up in bed restless I be
No sleep or blessed rest for me
Pressures of this tumultuous life
Draining life’s blood right out of me
Everywhere I go everything I see
Remind me of life
How hard it can be
Spinning in circles poor little me
Giving up on living
Watch me you’ll see
HOME AGAIN
On my way home again to polish my soul
And watch the manifestation of happiness
From your sleepy smiling eyes
When the silence shatters as the morning breaks
And the warm glow of the early sunlight
Reflects from your misty hazel eyes
I will see my special rose unfurl lustrous petals
As I kneel in the garden of fragrances
Like a praying mantis do to me what thou wilt
Lucky ones eavesdropping from curiosity
Listening to melodic singing of my conflicted heart
I have been a wild rover now my spirit leads me home
I will stand by you and be good to you
I drown in a sea of love as you sing to me
There is nothing I want as much as I want everything
From warm spring days to the cool days of autumn
We will walk together as our wild indulgent hearts rupture
Shattering captivity and we run free
Understanding and comprehending
Complex signs of our many body languages
Give in to the feeling and chase the fire from our souls
Then fulfillment contentment and belonging
Lull us to that place of peace and we sleep
Knowing full well we will wake to clash again in the name of love
To chase the inferno that burns deep in our souls
GOLDEN ERA
We must return to the golden era of yesteryear
When life was simple and joy filled our souls
When the nights were gaily lit by flickering fireflies and bonfires
The stars were the psychedelic lights in our vast disco room
The thunder was the great boom box that accompanied the drums
The moon was the great eye in the sky that watched
over us
Darkness was the guardian that lulled us to sleep the shield that kept us protected from the unknown
Our bare feet kept us grounded and connected to that from which we came
The wind ruffling the wildly swaying leaves was the percussion for our sweet music
<
br /> As our feet thumped the earth releasing a bonanza of energy-filled shower of sparks
Then our souls fed on this force committing us to unending leisure as the source rose to its peak
Take me back to a simple time when we drank at the river and never got drunk when we played with
Animals and never got mauled when we ate uncooked food and fruits from the forest
And was never poisoned when our shield was invisible and our range had no boundaries
When we went unclothed never knowing we were naked and never got sick
Take me back to a time when all inhabitants of earth was one
When we walked with angels joy and peace graced our souls
Then love was a splendid thing we never knew how to hate
The open spaces were our chapel and we worshipped freely
The falling rain kept our minds and body clean pure and fresh
Raindrops were our kiss from heaven we knew we were loved
Now we have come to a place and time that is different I’m lost
Tell me this is not the end tell me we can go back
Please take me back to that ecstatic ultimate time
SORDID AFFAIR
Elaine was the self-indulgent one; she was having an affair with the proud village cock Burton, who is the husband of the fiery one Delores. Burton was also having an affair with the vivacious Jean. Elaine found out about Jean and was hopping mad, and so she went to work, hatching a scheme with revenge and a woman’s scorn written all over it. She called him and asked, “Honey, when are you coming over? Oh, on Friday. What time? Nine o’clock. That’s good, I will be in bed. I’ll leave the door unlocked, just come on in. I’ll be in bed waiting for my tiger, okay.”
Burton was on time. He went in, closing the door behind him as he shouted, “Baby, I’m here!” Her voice welcomed him into the bedroom. In the dim light, he could see her form under the covers. His emotions surged as he tore off his clothes and climbed into bed. His hands reached out, caressing her form. He snuggled close and hugged her as his heart stepped up tempo. He whispered, “Elaine, you are feeling so good but a little different.” His hands explored some more. Then the words came. “No, Burton, this is not Elaine. This is your wife Delores.”
He flew from under the covers and flipped the lights on. What he saw almost caused him to have a heart attack. There in Elaine’s bed was his wife Delores. He mumbled, grumbled, and sputtered like a broken engine as he searched for his clothes, but Delores was up and at him. He made it to the front door with the remnants of a bedside lamp in his hair and the water from a vase all over him. He was out the house, but not before suffering some heinous scratches to the back, chest, and face. How he must have regretted being called a tiger; the tigress was all over him, but he managed to escape, and the fastest man alive, Usain Bolt, would be left standing in this race.
The irony was even though he was moving fast, people could see he had on the emperor’s new clothes, which was no clothes. He had lost his plumage and was not looking quite so cocky, more like a wet rat. Even though his house was just across the village, it suddenly looked like a very long way. Some distance behind, with a piece of broken broomstick clutched in her fist, was Delores, who was doing fairly well herself. As the grand drama unfolded, Elaine stood on her front porch, hands on her knees as she doubled over with laughter.
From the humiliation of someone there will be those who find pleasure in their misery.
AT HIS SIDE
We walked down the aisle, you clinging to my arm
A start to the beginning of your new dawn
Accepted an assented, dazzling, endless traditional symbol
Shared a kiss then danced with flair and threw flowers in the air
Now you are married, I get my name back
After all these years nursing, nurturing, teaching
There were tears when you were in pain
There was laughter when you were happy
You were doctored, reassured when sick and scared
Held close with all the love, so much we shared as we cared
Our bond held strong, insurmountable, true
And for the first time in as many years I’m alone
You are whisked away from all that rice to the sound of banging cans, blaring horns
You leave behind a special dedicated emblem
I gave away love, and the name I gave you is returned
You took a new one, which is not quite the same
I wish for you all the forces that make for a better life
There is none more compelling or prevailing than hopeful hope
With hope you can have the best of the rest
Of every little thing that comes realize your thoughtful thoughts
To be led through the wonderland of love, prosperity, and ecstatic dreams
Start your new life anew; my name to you was kind, though it was always last or behind
Someone help me find a place to unwind so I may
think of
All the glorious years reflected there in the memory of my mind
JEWEL
Amid flashing lights, showers of sparks, and pageantry
Little jewel exploded onto the scene like a rock star with glitz, glamour, agility, irresistible and alluring
She sparkled and brought the southern lights shimmering, flickering, sparkling to everything around
She is Aurora, the Roman goddess of dawn; she made her dramatic entry into the pageantry and
Sideshow of the world
After her first welcoming cry from a gusty lung announcing I am here I must be heard
Nate the new father nervously paced the floor in ardent anticipation
Cried a river, tears of joy; behold, he has set eyes on his precious mineral
Sidjae the proud mother in welcoming arms received her treasured gem
But the brightest beam of all came from Jewel’s grandmother
Impatiently she waited outside the delivery room on a mat of pins and needles
In blissful euphoria snatched the baby from the arms of the nurse on the way to the nursery
Cooed like a dove, made funny noises, swaggered around, pompous, delirious, and elated
She occupied an entire aircraft with all the trinkets and things she bought
There are paintings of butterflies all over the pinkly shaded wall
It is filled with serenity, a wonderful kind of peace disturbed by gems in every available space
Angels hovering near the ceiling answered the call; they’re watching over everyone—large, great, and small
Little Jewel was loaded with every precious thing, including her name
Baby Jewel, with much luster, will sparkle and shine, instilling impulsive inspiration
In the lives of the dull, unmotivated, and disheartened, she will build love, hope, and virtue
Fascinating charisma, magnetic charm, wildly dancing harmonious beam
She will shine and twinkle on the lives of people, inviting positive compelling action
If we listen intently, we can hear it—soft sounds of the sweet angelic chorus singing
“Hallelujah, she is born a princess and priceless”
AT LAST
With courage and determination, we persevered as we pursued
For ten years we travelled high seas, flew endless skies
Hiked relentless deserts, climbed and rappelled impossible cliffs and mountains
Waded and swam across infested rivers and ravines
We confronted this endless conflict, strived to put this ache in our hearts to rest
We mourned loved ones we lost; it gave us a sense of purpose
