Tammy glanced at her, flinching, and shoved a cat suit into a suitcase.
“You can’t move out.”
Tammy winced and grabbed a blanket.
Jane stooped, a frustrated expression on her face. “Come on, tell me what’s up.”
She shook her head, then rose, a bag and suitcase in her hands, and walked toward the door, me next to her.
Behind us, Jane shouted, “This is crazy!”
Tammy placed her belongings in the backseat, sat in the car, and closed the door.
I started the engine.
Jane crouched, facing Tammy. “I don’t want it to end like this.”
Tammy glanced at her, then looked straight ahead, eyes moist. “You slept with Gina and didn’t tell me.”
Jane blurted, “Who told you that?”
“She did.”
Jane raised her voice, “We can work this out.”
Tammy shook her head. “Our relationship is over.”
“You need to be more flexible. What can Justin offer you that I can’t?”
I drove away.
In my rear view mirror, Jane was staring at my car, glowering.
Tammy sniffed. “I’m sorry that you had to put up with that. “
“It’s okay.”
“Thanks.” She exhaled. “After we get home, I’ll put on my red cat suit.”
“Great. Did Gina call you last night, when we were together?”
She blurted, “Yeah. I wanted to tell you later, when the mood was right.”
I scowled. “When is that?”
“I don’t know. Sometimes, I can’t make up my mind. Will you forgive me?”
I exhaled, trying to reasonable. “Sure.”
“You look pissed off.”
“I am.”
“Do you still love me?”
I smiled. “Yes.”
She grinned. “Do I look good in my cat suit?”
“Definitely.”
“Thanks.” She pulled out a sex toy, a novelty item that resembled a snake’s tongue, put it on hers, and yanked down my zipper with one hand. My dick came out. Her tongue uncoiled, reached down, wrapped around my phallus, then began massaging it.
I blinked. “That’s a great surprise.”
She offered me a thumbs-up because her tongue was busy.
A haunting image, a worst case scenario, popped into my head. Months from now, when Tammy was alone, shopping, a handsome man would tell her she looked pretty. After smiling at him, he took her to his home. An email, the only message this flirty woman sent to me, said that she had met someone else. I sighed, trying to remain calm.
Tammy blinked, let go of my dick, and the snake tongue snapped back into her mouth. “You look worried. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. I’m just tired.” Was my fib convincing? I hoped so.
Next to a sidewalk, a muscular fellow hopped out of a van.
Tammy glanced at him, grinning.
I bit my lip, upset, but didn’t say a word.
Tammy ran a couple of fingers through her hair, preening.
If I was lucky, she would stay with me for a few months.
Several days later, Donald called, told me that after retrieving deleted files, Rita found Nate’s infrared signature. He had broken into his own car. Then she contacted her supervisor. Within a week, Faasp’s Human Resources fired Nate and every Twobin employee because, according to Nate, someone in Twobin asked him to break into our files, hoping the information would help them perfect Planoob much faster.
That evening, after questioning her face to face, Wenda told me she hung up when Ray entered the room. My colleague didn’t want him to know she was speaking to me because she didn’t trust him anymore. I asked her why she didn’t tell me this sooner. She said she was worried that talking about this might make me angry.
Within a few months, Linda retired, a millionaire like other Ahantech employees, and married her boyfriend. Not long after that, Cindy quit, and used her money to fund college scholarships.
