Stalking the Kilt Page 4

by Keely Jakes

Before Dane could get the interior security locks twisted open, Sully wrapped an arm across the front of his body just below his shoulders. “Don’t go, please. I didn’t mean to embarrass you. I’m not special. I’m just a kilt-wearing Scot who writes crazy stories that have brought me a bit of success. I really am shy and a hermit, which is why I think people are so interested in me.”

Dane stared at the door for several long moments, debating whether he should run or not. Finally, he slowly turned and looked up at Sully. He blinked as it hit him. “Oh my God, I had sex with T. S. McKellen.”

His face burned even hotter when Sully chuckled before bending his head and brushing his lips over Dane’s.

“If you think that was sex, yer education has been sorely lacking, laddie mine.”

Dane giggled as he shook his head. “That’s not what I meant, and you know it.”

Sully raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And what precisely did ye mean?”

“That … that … oh, never mind,” Dane sputtered.

Wrapping his arms around Sully’s neck, he pulled the man’s head down for a real kiss. One with lips mashing together, teeth clicking, and tongues dancing back and forth between their mouths as restraints were loosened and then released all together.

Dane ran his hands up and down Sully’s back, pushing closer, needing more than to be just wrapped in the man’s arms. He needed skin on skin, preferably with Sully’s big cock buried deep in his ass.

Before he could strip their clothes off, his back pocket buzzed a second before the phone began to ring. “Damn,” he muttered against Sully’s lips.

“’Tis jes’ as well,” Sully said as they slowly eased back until an inch of air space grew between them.

It took long enough for them to separate that Dane’s phone stopped ringing by the time he pulled it out of his pocket.

When it began again, Dane sighed as he touched the screen lifted it to his ear. “Hi, Mason, what’s up? No, I’m not going to make it for dinner tonight. I’m plan on eating in my room. I’ll see you tomorrow. Yeah, no, I’m okay. Just trying to get some writing done. Okay. Good night.”

After hanging up, he turned off his phone, then slid it back into the back pocket of his jeans. At one time he had thought Mason was harmless and even a friend, so Dane had given him his phone number. Now, he was not so sure that had been a good idea.

Untucking his shirt and pulling it over his head, Dane asked, “Now, where were we?”

Sully smiled with a fire in his eyes that had Dane’s hole and thighs clenching with anticipation. “I believe we were right about here.”

With that Sully reached for Dane’s jeans. One sharp yank opened the buttons holding the cloth together. Slipping his thumbs between Dane’s skin and the fabric, he pushed both jeans and bright red boxers down to his thighs. The clothing dropped to pool at his ankles.

Toeing off his shoes, Dane kicked his way out of the jeans and underwear before taking a moment to bend down and pull off his socks. By the time he straightened, he was pleased to see Sully had followed suit, dropping his kilt and shirt on the pile of clothes. The big man then sat on the side of the bed, mumbling words Dane didn’t understand as he fumbled with the laces of his boot.

With a grin, Dane knelt and attacked the other boot, and together they had Sully’s boots and socks off in less than a minute. Once they were both completely naked, Dane sat back and took a moment to admire the pale, sculpted muscles that rippled as Sully shifted to lift him to his feet.

Then Sully dropped to his knees, taking Dane’s cock into his mouth to the root and driving him toward orgasm at supersonic speed. It surged through him so fast that he howled as his spunk shot from the tip of his cock. Sully sucked him dry, then caught him when Dane’s legs went weak.

Before Dane could fully recover, Sully had him lying in the middle of the mattress with his legs spread wide. After sliding on a condom and coating it and his fingers liberally with slick, Sully climbed onto the bed and leaned over Dane. Leaning down further, Sully kissed him like he meant it. At the same time, those cool, slicked up fingers found their way between Dane’s legs. Dane raised the leg Sully was not holding down, giving the man more room to reach his back hole.

When a big, blunt-tipped finger pushed for entrance, Dane took a deep breath and pushed out, then began to pant as the finger slid deep. Several deep breaths later, a second finger joined the first, and Dane could not help the whining, whimpering sound that emerged despite Sully’s mouth being plastered to his.

When the third finger pushed for entrance, Dane broke the kiss in order to try to catch his breath. “Oh, God, Sully. Need. You. Now.”

“Hang on, mo run. I don’t want to hurt you when we finally come together.”

Dane didn’t give a flying fuck if he walked funny the whole weekend. He needed Sully’s cock in his ass immediately if not sooner.

Seemingly surprising Sully as much as himself, Dane shoved at Sully’s shoulder, flipping the man onto his back and following him over. Dane shifted and maneuvered until he straddled Sully’s hips. The man’s cock slid up and down his ass crack as his fingers scissored and continued spreading his hole.

Looking down into Sully’s deep blue eyes, Dane growled. “Fuck. Me. Now.”

He was as surprised when the big man did as he ordered. Sully pulled his fingers from Dane’s ass, immediately replacing them with his latex-covered cock. Then Dane really had to focus on breathing and relaxing everything below his waist to make room for Sully’s cock.

Sully was shocked by Dane’s fierce hunger, but refused to fight him because he felt the same, overwhelming need to be buried in the smaller man. And truth be told, Dane was just the kind of man Sully had been looking for since his last relationship had ended more than two years before.

Feeling Dane’s tight warmth encase his cock even through the condom that separated them had Sully gritting his teeth to keep from slamming up into his man and coming on the first stroke.

  And Dane was his man.

They might not know much about one another, but one thing Sully did know all the way to his soul was that Dane Murphy was the perfect man for him. He grabbed Dane’s hips when the man seemed like he was going to start moving.

Dane frowned down at him, his gray eyes glowing silver. “Need,” Dane panted, which only sent Sully’s arousal ratcheting higher.

“I know, but if you move it’ll be all over, lover,” Sully whispered through a jaw locked tight. Everything was tight in order to keep from pushing deeper and blowing his load long before he wanted.

Dane tried to move again, and Sully tightened his grip, holding the man still until he no longer teetered on the brink of coming. Once he could draw a breath without fear of coming, Sully released Dane’s hips and reached for his tightly beaded nipples. “Okay, baby. Ride me.”

Dane blinked and growled in reaction to Sully twisting his nipples, then began to move. The growl turned into a whine as he began to lift and lower his body, riding Sully like he was a carousel horse.

As Sully approached the edge of his control again, he dropped one hand to wrap around Dane’s long, slim prick. Using the pre-cum that was dripping from the tip, he began to stroke the man to the same rhythm Dane was riding his cock.

Too soon, Sully felt his balls pull up and the tingle of fire race down his spine to gather in his balls. “Come, baby,” he cried as his hips began to jump, thrusting up to meet Dane’s every down stroke.

Dane wailed as his warm seed shot out to cover Sully’s chest. Sully relaxed his control, and his hips rose from the bed to bury his cock in Dane as deep as he could push it. He roared his own release as he filled the condom, even as he wrapped his arms around Dane once the man melted down over his body.

Fighting his own need to sleep, Sully waited until his softened cock slipped from Dane’s dark embrace. Dane was snoring softly, back to back orgasms having taken their toll. Shifting the man to lie on his side on the mattress, Sully lef
t the bed long enough to clean himself up.

He returned a few minutes later with a warm cloth and cleaned up the sleeping Dane before joining him in bed and pulling the covers over them both. Dane sighed when Sully snuggled up behind him and wrapped one arm around his middle.

Taking several slow, deep breaths, Sully released his hold on consciousness and joined Dane in the sweet arms of sleep.

Friday morning, Dane woke instantly as he always did, only this time it took a moment of looking around the room to figure out he was in a hotel room with Sully.

Oh my God, T. S. McKellen fucked me. Dane had then spent the night in the famous writer’s arms. How was any of this possible? Was he still napping on the plane while dreaming of his idea of a perfect weekend? Or was he awake and this was really happening?

Reaching up, he pinched his arm. “Ow,” he whispered at the pain, not wanting to wake up the man sleeping just behind him with an arm still draped around Dane’s waist.

So, he really was awake. He had actually fucked, and then slept with, his own personal writing hero, the famously elusive T. S. McKellen. Big question was, what should he do now?

Did he really want to wait around to see the disappointment in Sully’s eyes when he woke up and found Dane was still in bed beside him?

Hell, no, he did not. He wanted to remember the hot, sexy night before, not the awkward, uncomfortable morning after. Which meant he needed to leave now, before Sully woke up.

Carefully lifting Sully’s arm, Dane eased away from the big man and slowly inched his way to the edge of the mattress. It was time to return from the fantasy of the last eighteen hours and rejoin the world where he was supposed to be here in Texas wooing readers into buying his books.

Sorting through the pile of clothes on the floor, Dane carried his to the bathroom and quickly dressed. Then, carrying his shoes in one hand, he tiptoed to the door. Pausing a moment, he looked over his shoulder. Sully slept on, looking peaceful and almost content as he continued softly snoring.

“I could have loved you so hard,” Dane whispered as he flipped the locks open as quietly as he could.

He then eased the door open just enough to slip through before pulling it closed behind him. He made sure the door was secure before he took off down the hallway in his socks. He headed toward the elevator closest to his room, which was at the other end of the long hallway. Then, instead of waiting for the elevator to arrive, he ducked around the corner and pushed his way into the fire staircase and used them to descend to his floor.

By the time he reached his room, Dane was blinking back tears of regret. Second, third, and fourth thoughts about leaving Sully flashed through his brain. But it was too late to go back now. He needed a shower, a good breakfast, and a stroll to the tiny market around the corner from the hotel’s front door.

And somehow, before the conference began, he needed to figure out how to keep from gluing himself to Sully’s side. No matter how good they were together, and they were damned good, there could be no future between them. By this time next week, he would be back in North Carolina, and Sully would be home in Scotland with an ocean between them. And no matter how much Dane might want it, he could not fall any more in love with the man than he already was.

When the electronic lock on his room refused to open on the first five tries, Dane growled, “Let me the fuck in.”

On the next slide of the keycard, the little red light turned green. Grabbing the handle, he quickly turned it and let himself into the room he shared with Austin. Once again, he moved slowly, trying to stay as quiet as he could, though Austin had told him when they agreed to be roommates that he slept so deep and hard a brass band could march through the room and he wouldn’t wake.

Dropping his shoes on his perfectly made bed, Dane knelt before his suitcase and pulled out clean clothes. A glance across the room showed him Austin had not changed and was still sleeping deep and undisturbed.

Thirty minutes later, Dane patted his pockets to confirm he had his watch, room keycard, and wallet on his body. His briefcase had his laptop, camera, notes for the book he was in planning to write next, and his tickets for the conference. He was ready to go. As he closed the door behind him, his stomach rumbled. He needed food. It was time for a good breakfast to start his day.

Only when he was seated in the hotel’s restaurant did Dane’s conscience kick his ass for being a coward. Just because the last two men had kicked him out the morning after their one night together was no reason to think Sully would do the same. If he had been brave enough to stay, he might have been able to spend the full weekend loving Sully and talking books. But no, he had given in to the possibility of rejection and run after the most glorious night of loving he had ever experienced.

So, why did his heart feel like it was breaking?

  Chapter Six

Late Friday afternoon, Sully stopped just inside the door to the meeting room where the last session of the day would be starting in a few minutes. When someone behind him excused themselves, he stepped out of the doorway so those behind him could enter. His gaze swept the crowd, but yet again there was no sign of the curly brown hair of his quarry. Dane had been elusive as rain in the desert, and Sully was ready to tear the building apart to find him. He needed an explanation as to why he had woken up alone instead of wrapped around the man who had captured his imagination, and more than a little bit of his heart.

Sully ground his molars together as his frustration wound a little tighter. Dane should be here since he was listed as one of six authors on this panel to discuss how to build the perfect character.

Maggie Fields, one of the conference organizers, had pulled him aside after he had checked in for the conference that morning. She had asked that he not bring too much attention to himself before that evening’s dinner when he was scheduled to be the post-dinner entertainment.

Sully had agreed easily. He would prefer to avoid the spotlight entirely, but knew that was not going to happen. It couldn’t. He was here to promote his books, and to do that he had to be in front of the crowd.

Sully was still standing just inside the door at the back of the room when the panel commentator began speaking. She welcomed the crowd to the conference and began introducing the authors who sat on the small stage at the front of the room. Sully jumped when the door flew open and Dane race-walked into the room.

“I’m here. I’m here. Please don’t start without me,” Dane said as he rushed down the aisle and onto the stage before slipping into the only empty chair. “Sorry I’m late, but I got caught up in a discussion about committing the perfect murder.”

The audience laughed as Sully knew they were supposed to. The man who had captured his heart had a natural, snarky sense of humor, and would, no doubt, be entertaining over the next hour as he discussed the cops, killers, and innocent bystander characters he built so well in his books.

Once the audience settled down once more, the commentator, an older woman wearing an unbecoming lilac tweed suit, picked up once more with her introduction of the panel.

Sully moved to one of the empty seats in the back row and sat down. Shifting the chair to the left a few inches, he had a clear view of Dane. Dane would also see him, if the man bothered to look in his direction. Once the panel was over, he would confront Dane and demand answers for the growing list of questions he had been formulating all day.

In the meantime, he would settle in to learn more about the man and how he created his award-winning characters.

  ****

The commentator started having the authors introduce themselves and their latest books at the other end of the table, giving Dane a few minutes to catch his breath and look over the audience. Everyone was focused on the current speaker, except one man in the back row, who stared at him instead.

  Sully.

The big man looked like a tiger in a room full of housecats. Feral. Dangerous. And so sexy that Dane had to shift so his cock would not be pinched off as it inflat
ed. And he was staring at him. When their gazes met and locked, Dane nodded, wanting the other man to know he saw him.

Sully smiled as he nodded back. Then he shifted in his seat and turned his gaze to the author who was currently speaking about the cozy romance she had just published.

Dane tried to pay attention even as he mentally kicked his own ass as he had done all day. What the fuck had he been thinking running away from Sully liked had? And then hiding all day, which meant missing two of the panels he had wanted to attend?

You are a fool, his cock screamed at him as it throbbed with a need unlike anything he had ever felt before.

His heart agreed, even as his head warned that heartache was guaranteed if he spent any more time with Sully.

He jumped when the author next to him jabbed him with an elbow. It was his turn to speak.

“Oh, sorry. I’m Dane Murphy, and my latest release is entitled Ninety-Six Percent. It’s the story of twins who were separated at birth, and adopted by very different parents, and the murder that brings them together thirty years later. Like the title hints at, there are secrets kept from them and dreams that bring them together.” Not knowing what else to say, Dane shrugged and turned to look at the commentator.

Dane worked hard to keep his attention focused on what was being said by the other panel members so he would not repeat any information when he gave his thoughts. It also kept him from staring at Sully, who was watching him every time Dane looked in his direction. The problem was his head, heart, and cock kept up a fierce debate about what they were going to do once the panel discussion ended.

And then it was over. After a short applause, most of the audience members quickly left the room. No doubt they were in a hurry to go upstairs and change for dinner. The theme of the evening was “Dress as Your Favorite Mystery Character”.

Dane did not need to change. The blue jeans, light gray polo shirt, and gray cowboy boots he’d worn all day would suffice. If questioned, he planned to explain that he was dressed as one of the twins from Ninety-Six Percent.
