And if you are having trouble with it all, your mother says just bat your eyelashes at him and he will do anything you ask. God knows, it works on me.
(She told me to write this because she is cooking something with you right now)
A battle lies ahead of you but I know you will do more than rise above.
All of this is yours but don’t feel like you are tied down to keep what Hamilton started going.
Go and live your life, baby. Be a chef and travel the world. Don’t be too hard on yourself and understand that perfection is overrated.
That creole in you makes your perfect baby and you will probably see a lot prejudice in life but just promise me one thing baby. Rise.
Rise above because the world is at your feet.
You are everything
Love, Pa and Mama.
BY THE TIME I’M DONE reading the letter for the fifth time, I’m a complete mess. I’m crying and I can’t seem to be able to breath as sobs wreck my body. Gideon picks me up bridle style and goes with me to the waiting car, with Fred holding the door open, a look of concern on his face.
“I’m alright.” I say to all three men who are looking at me as if they really don’t know what to do with a hormonal, pregnant woman that just read a letter from her parents in which they basically tell her that she is loved and she is her own person.
“Are you sure?” Fred questions. Since losing John, Fred hasn’t been the same but we have grown closer. He then disclosed to me that he and John were more than just friends but I think I knew all along.
“Yes Fred, I’m fine.” I say on a hiccup and then turn into Gideon, silently asking him to get me the hell out of here and he does. In his arms, I fall asleep as he instructs Tom to drive to the destination, but I have no idea what he means by that.
The next time I wake up, we are in a plane and the plane is about to land.
“What the. . .?”
“I have to say, you snore now more loudly than ever.” He says with a chuckle and I realize that he is the one who just woke me.
“Come on, we need to buckle in for the landing.” Gideon says as he takes my hands and I move from the large bed. There is a freaking bed in the freaking plane? Well damn.
“Gideon what is this? Where are we going?” I question but he doesn’t say anything. He doesn’t say anything as the plane lands in a very small tiny airport that really isn’t an airport at all.
He doesn’t say anything as we walk toward a waiting car in which there is Tom and Fred already waiting for us. He doesn’t say anything even when we arrive at this jaw dropping resort right by the beach over-looking turquoise blue waters.
He doesn’t say anything as he leaves me with a bunch of people that start prepping me and I don’t know for what. First, they give me a full body massage therapy and my pregnant self is overjoyed at that. And the next thing I know, I’m being glammed up and they allow me to choose a dress for myself.
Wait, is Gideon going to propose? Holy shit.
I think so, I mean why else would he do all of this? Isolating me in order for him to get an answer is a genius move on his part. Gideons’ alpha-dominating tendencies know no bounds. It’s even worse now as we have been living together since he got discharged from the hospital.
The way he makes love to me is different even. He needs to take me early in the morning before we both go our separate ways and then as soon as he gets back home or after dinner or when we go out.
I especially love that he meets and matches my insatiable need. I don’t know if that’s due to the pregnancy hormones or if it’s the monster he has created but I love every single thing he does to me. I don’t know when or how it happened but Gideon gradually introduced me to the pleasurable pain of his touch and all of a sudden. I crave the darker nights.
When I wake up screaming from a nightmare, he knows what I need. When fear grips me by the throat, his touch sends it all away and now I crave the darker nights. I crave the cruelty of his blissful touch. Somehow, it pieces me back together and we are closer somehow. I mean, I have always been attuned to him but now, It's on another level. I move when he moves. I breath when he does. And I love every moment of it.
“Excuse me, ma’am.” A voice interrupts my musings as I look at myself in the mirror. I turn to look at her and find her wearing a big smile on her face. “You look beautiful.” She gushes over me and I look down at myself in a flowing white dress that reaches my feet. The dress has a halter neck and I love that it lifts my now full breasts. I chose this white dress out of all the other dresses because I want to stand out for him. I want him to notice me and just see me.
“Thank you. And yes, I am ready. But should I wear shoes?” I question her but she only shakes her head and then she comes into the room with a bouquet of flowers in her hands.
“These are from Senor, Black.” She says and there is a note there. Oh, so he finally says something.
These reminded me of you as soon as I saw them. Pure and beautiful as you are. Now, get your gorgeous ass out here.

I smile as I read the little note, recognizing Gideon’s manly scrawl that I have a thing for. “Where is he?” I question the kind lady.
“Out by the beach and he told me that you have to bring the flowers with or else he will fire me.” She says, now looking at me pleadingly.
“What? He said that?” I question. Fucking hell, Gideon.
been threatening people and he knows I don’t like it when other people have to be punished for my discretions. And as far as I can tell, he will fire this lady if I don’t bring the dan flowers with me. That just pisses me off.
“Well he has another thing coming!” I say and make my way out of the luxurious, beautiful villa that looks way more than just relaxation and fun. This is quality but I’m not paying attention to all that as I make my way to the beach on full steam. My gaze rakes the area, searching for a particular, large brooding and sexy as hell, man and just like that, I spot him standing ahead of me, talking to Tom about something.
“Hey you!” I shout as I walk even faster. How dare he threaten another woman’s job like that? The fuck does he think this is?
Gideon turns around to look at me and I watch as he takes me, his gaze now heated with each step that I take.
“How dare you threaten that kind woman’s job?” I demand as soon as I reach him, coming to a stop in front of him I place my hands at my hips and wait for him to respond.
Even though I love him with everything within me, we are still us and he still the only man that sets my anger on fire and I’m just ready to blow a gasket. Forget that I’m pregnant, this is all me, no hormones.
“Because I knew you wouldn’t do what I tell you to do.” He answers, his voice cool, his gaze appreciative as he watches me scramble for something to say.
“They are just flowers.” I answer, exasperated.
“Are they?” He questions as he pulls me closer to him, snaking a hand around my wait, I’m literally putty in his hands as he plasters me to his hard front.
“Gideon." I start, looking up at him. I’m ashamed to say that I’m so easy when it comes to him. I’m fucking turned on just by the way he is looking at me.
“Marry me, Charlotte.” He says after a pause as we stare at each other.
I gasp and try to push away from him, my heart pounding so damn loud in my chest but he only tightens his hold me, not letting me go of me.
“Gideon. . .”
“You said you love me.” He says, his head inclining to the side, assessing me.
“Yes, I do! You know I do, but. . .”
“Just say yes.” He syas as he leans and I think he is going to kiss me now but he only skims my cheek. Fuck, I’ve never been this starved for a kiss before but I am now.
“Yes! I’ll marry you.” I tell him, feeling elated and lighter as I say the words, but the look in his eyes tells me something else. There is more.
“Marry me now, Charlotte.” His voice is f
irm, strong and as deep as the day I met him. Green pools of lava pierce my soul as my jaw drops open and I realize that he is serious. There isn’t a shred of humor here as he waits for my answer.
That’s when I look at him closely as see that he is wearing a white shirt with white pants rolled up and he is also barefooted. I look over his shoulder as see that where he was standing, there is an arch of white and there stands Fred and Tom, talking to another guy who looks like a local wedding officiator.
“Gideon. . . Our friends aren’t even here.” I try to let him see reason as I feel the pounding of my heart in my chest. I feel like I’m going to explode and out babies kick in my belly but Gideon feels it too as we are pressed together.
“They are in agreement.” He says with a chuckle as he rubs my belly then looks down at me. “I want to marry you here, without the hustle and bustle of our lives, I’ll give you the wedding of your dreams later baby. But right now, I just want it to be us. Without the pressure from our family and friends because when I met you, when I fell in love with you, it was just you and me together.”
“When I bared my soul for you to see, and you opened up to me that night after my birthday dinner—it was just you and me then. You loved me then and you love me more now.”
I’m crying, but I can’t break the connection between us. I can’t look away from him as the compulsion is too strong. His force of will is too strong but his passion for me, his affection for me, now that’s stronger than anything I have ever felt.
“Our babies, are a part of you and me and I want them to be born with their parents already married. I want them to learn the essence of love. The essence that is you and me.”
“Gideon. . .”
“It has always been you and me Charlotte. And it will always ne you and me.” He says and I just can’t take it anymore.
“Marry me, baby.”
“Yes!” I scream but he doesn’t kiss me just yet.
“You were planning this all along, huh?” I question.
“Yes,”
“Is that why you haven’t kissed me today?” I question, folding my hands on top of my large six month pregnant belly. Having twins is not a joke.
“I want to kiss you for the first time with you having my last name and fucking completely mine.” He says and with that, we turn to all down to where the officiator waits.
As the sun starts sinking low into the horizon, I think back to the day I met him. I honestly never thought that our billion dollar plan would be so incongruous and have so many wrong turns and detonating effects, yet here we are.
I marry the love of my life, the man that let me see just how lost I was. The man who was patient with me right from the start and allowed me to grow into the woman he always knew I was. He is my sanctuary, and my protection. He is the melody of my heart and I dance to the tune of his because I know each time I hear it, we have a chance to make something out of this life we were given.
“You have no idea how much I love you Gideon.” I say as I slip on the wedding band he gave me before the priest started.
“I love you. Forever, Mrs. Black.” He whispers into my ear and I swoon. I love that name and I will wear it with honor and pride. We are pronounced husband and wife, a huge wedding band on my left finger and an engagement diamond ring on my right. I love both my rings and I make a mental note to get Gideon a second band as well for his right hand.
“Are you going to kiss me now?” I murmur as Tom and Fred hoot behind us.
“Yes. For rest of our lives.” And with that, finally, his lips meet mine and I melt into his strong embrace that I know will always hold me up the rest of our lives.
THE END ♥
OMG
I don’t know if I should tell you that I cried while writing this book, but there you have it. Your girl cried.
You see, Chloe & Gideon are my first ever couple that I shared with the world and as I have watched them grow and discover themselves—especially Chloe—I myself have grown.
So, thank you. For reading this story and for loving a part of my soul that has taken refuge in these pages, these words. . .these lives.
What to do now?
Feeling lost? Yeah, me too.
So how about we play a game of stalking each other. I’m betting you learnt a few things about stalking from my man, Max.

My mother always says if you want to be a complainer in life, believe me, you will always find something to complain about. And well, just like everything else she has told me in life, she was right.
But I don’t want to complain here. I just want to say that these past few weeks have been a ride for me. Emotionally, mentally, physically and even any other ‘lly’ that you are thinking about. But I made it through. Not by myself though but with the support and love of friends and family, here we are!
To Jen and Kylie; I will forever make you shout and me for as long as you keep making me blush. Tone it down now, will you? I love you both. Thank you so much!
A shout to Ashley and Caitlyn for some of the coolest graphics ever.
My love to a really die-hard fan of Gideon & Chloe, love you Shay!
