“I will always worry about you.”

For once no idiom or Nikism. Still, he was petrified of her taking wing. “No need. Not with my big bad Russian werewolf at my side.”

Nik wrinkled his brow. “Do you miss the CIA and being…human?”

“To be honest, yes. Then again, I couldn’t go back and forth between the LIA and the CIA like my father did. He somehow remained loyal to both. I prefer just being Team Greywolf, officer of the LIA.” She furrowed her brow. “Are you homesick for Russia?” Nik did not like the lycan rules and, for the most part, preferred living in their isolated cabin and venturing out of lycan territory. Before meeting Emma, Nik planned to tell Rylee, after he found Saskia, he’d return to Russia and live amongst humans.

“Not after I found my mate. Home is where my heart is.” He smiled. “Although, after this mission, I want to give you the grand tour of Moscow.”

“I look forward to that. It will be nice going there without having to spy.”

  “True.”

Emma dropped her cloak. “What do you say, wolf, time for a little diversion before we head back?”

Nik growled, lifted her chin and kissed her passionately. She wrapped her legs about his waist. He released her mouth and kissed her nape. “You drive me nuts, Sparrow.”
