Mine: A Dark Billionaire Romance Page 14

by Brook Wilder

I slid my hand down beneath my legs and found that I would need minimal effort to comply with his demand. I started to rub myself in a slow circle, spreading my legs slightly. While I only intended to give myself a little pleasure, I let out a small moan as I started to rub faster. I pictured water running down Garrett's body in rivers, bending and twisting over his muscles and finally working its way between his legs. My breathing deepened as I felt a crest of pleasure rising within me. I was lost in myself now, without a care for anything else.

"Laina!" Garrett called again. "I said to prepare, not finish!"

My lips formed a pout that Garrett couldn't see. As much as it pained me, I drew my hand away from my throbbing pussy. I felt the crest slowly subside, but now I was hungrier than ever. I wished Garrett would hurry up and let me in the shower, the wait was starting to become too much. I ended up waiting another fifteen agonizing minutes before Garrett raised his voice again.

"You can come in now," he said.

I hopped in the shower eagerly and immediately reached out to him, running my hands down his slick body. He swatted my hands away before I trailed too far south, and turned to pick up a bar of soap.

"It looks like you need to be cleaned too, dirty girl," he said. "We'll have fun after that, I promise."

He started with my shoulders and began working the soap into a lather. His strong hands were both cleaning and massaging at the same time and I felt my muscles relaxing under his touch. That, combined with the musky smell of his soap, was lulling me into a trance. I let go of my worries, making myself pliant as he spun me and adjusted me to reach every inch of my skin.

I closed my eyes as he started to work on my legs. His strong thumbs were finding all sorts of knots in my thighs, and the tension he released felt heavenly. He had just finished with my calves when I gasped in surprise. One hand, still slick with soap, slid between my legs and began to explore. My whole core clenched as his hand circled my clit, and I let out a strangled whimper.

"Does that feel good?" he asked.

"Mmmmhmmm," I replied, unable to put my feelings into words.

My whimpers turned into moans as he increased his pace. Instead of just dancing around my clit, his fingers were now diving into me at irregular intervals. The shock of the new sensation was ramping up within me, and it wouldn't be long before I toppled over into oblivion.

Garrett seemed to sense that, however, and with uncanny timing, he pulled away just before I reached the point of no return. I let out a gasp of irritation as he pulled away, and he responded with a pleased snicker.

"We can't let you have all the fun," he said. "On your knees, Laina. I want you to taste me."

I obeyed, carefully kneeling down in the slick tub. Garrett was standing at full attention, and I took a moment to admire his entire manhood before gently lowering my mouth to its base. I started with a kiss, but then laid my tongue flat against him, slowly dragging it up along his length. When I reached his head, I used the tip of my tongue to tease its edges, making lazy circles around him. His breath was growing shorter, and I saw him reach out to press his hand against the shower wall to brace himself.

"Take me in your mouth," he growled.

He was intimidatingly large, but after a deep breath, I took as much of him as I could manage. I stifled a small gagging noise as he hit the back of my throat, but the feeling subsided after a moment. I started to bob my head back and forth, working my lips against his length. On impulse, I reached out and started to lightly touch his balls as well.

  "Yes, Lord, yes," he said.

I felt a hot spike of pleasure shoot through me. I would never have it in me to be a true dom, I loved the power I had over Garrett right now. I kept working, using his reaction to guide me. The way he was panting, I swore he was ready to come at any second. I braced myself, but before he could explode, he pulled my head away from his crotch.

He dragged me up until I was on my feet again, and placed his lips firmly on mine. I kissed back ferociously, but it wasn't long before his mouth began to wander down my neck. He left a trail of kisses, stopping when his lips found my nipples. I started moaning again as he sucked, and a pleasant warmth seemed to radiate out from my breasts.

We were both breathing raggedly, and he pulled his head away from my breast. Without a word, he turned and reached out of the shower and returned with a condom. He had it on in a flash and then placed both of his hands firmly under my buttocks. He lifted, slamming me against the shower wall and entering me in one fell swoop.

  "Oh, God!" I yelled.

He chuckled in reply and began gliding in and out of me, each stroke building up more delicious friction. I knew it wasn't going to take much, I was already so worked up, but I really wanted this to last. Garrett was hitting all of the right spots, and even finding some deep and hidden ones I never knew existed before now. Garrett was barely holding on as well, and his movements were becoming more erratic and disjointed by the second.

It only two took more thrusts before we both went screaming over the edge at the same time. My arms and legs went slack as rippling waves of pleasure carried me away. Garrett kept me safely pinned against the wall, but I did feel him lean into me as he quivered from the pleasure. We both let out little moans and grunts as our minds returned to our bodies, and when Garrett was aware enough, he let me gently down to my feet.

The water was still thrumming against us, but I could feel the temperature growing colder. I looked down at my wrinkled fingers and giggled. Garrett turned the water off before hopping out of the shower.

"Hold on," he said as he left.

I heard his wet footsteps quickly return, and he thrust a towel at me through the shower door. I took it and wrapped it around myself before stepping out into the steamy bathroom. I smiled when I caught sight of Garrett. He was still nude and using the towel to roughly dry his hair. I took a moment to sneakily take him in and quickly looked away when he finished with his hair.

"I'm going to run to the kitchen for a drink of water," he said as he opened the bathroom door. "There are more towels on the bench there, as well as a robe. I'll meet you in the bedroom when you're done."

He strode out into the hallway, still nude, and I gazed at his rear for a second before picking up another towel. I wrapped my hair in a turban before slipping into the robe and heading toward the bedroom. I flopped down onto the king size bed and closed my eyes for a moment. I had never felt so utterly relaxed in my life, and I wanted to enjoy the moment for as long as possible.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

I hadn't realized I'd fallen asleep until I felt Garrett gently shaking my shoulder.

"Time to wake up, Laina," he said softly.

I yawned and stretched, my bare skin prickling under his gaze.

"Tell me everything that happened," Garrett said as he laid down on the bed. He now had a towel wrapped around his waist and a dreamy look on his face. I felt quite relaxed too, but my muscles were already starting to tense up at the thought of recounting the events of the past few days.

"It all started two days ago when Victor tried to slander me online," I replied. I went through everything after that, including the biology lab and my talk with Kelsey. Garrett nodded gravely the entire time. I was glad he at least looked like he was taking this seriously. It felt good to have my fears validated, but I certainly didn't feel any better not know what Victor was capable of.

"What are we going to do about him?" I asked after I finished my story.

He didn't respond at first. The dreamy look had fully evaporated from his face, replaced by a calculating glare.

"Well," Garrett said finally. "I have a lawyer we can talk to. I'm not an expert, but I think we have a strong enough case to get a restraining order. Other than that, we just have to be careful and aware of our surroundings. I'll also pull some strings and see if I can't get someone to walk you to class."

"If it's bad enough that I need a body guard, why can't we just call the cops?"

&
nbsp; "I doubt they'd arrest him until he's actually done something threatening. More threatening than cyber bullying, at least. They'll just see that he took down whatever group he was using to slander you and call it done."

"I guess you're right. I just wish there was a way I could talk him out of it," I said hopelessly. "He's usually such an understanding and rational guy, I'm not sure what's made him go so far off the deep end."

"Not that his actions are excusable, but it sounds like he's been in love with you for a while. I can't blame him, you're a remarkable woman, Laina. It can be hard to handle unrequited love, and he might feel especially angry because he was 'beaten' by someone he's threatened by. That, combined with the stress of college coursework, might have caused his breakdown."

"It's just a shame that someone I thought of as my friend could turn on me that quickly."

"I agree, but for now at least, there's little we can do about that situation," he replied. "How about we order some take out, and think about something other than Victor for a while? It sounds cheesy, but I have a couple of board games if you don't want to watch a movie."

"That sounds fantastic! I'm starving," I said.

Garrett stood and picked up his phone, his towel slipping enough for me to catch a glimpse of his perfect rear. All my troubles left my mind for the briefest second as I hungrily gobbled up the view. He turned quickly, and I felt a blush rise to my cheeks as I realized he'd caught me staring.

"What would you like to eat?" he asked, turning to me with a mock stern face.

"Whatever you think is best," I said with a sly grin. "Sir."

He gave me a wink in reply and walked out of the room as he dialed. While he called in our order, I glanced at my own phone to see a message from Kelsey waiting for me, along with five missed call notifications. My heart sank as I read the message, and I instinctively pulled the duvet closer around me.

  Call me immediately, it said.

I quickly dialed her number, and she answered before the first ring had completed.

"Oh my God, Laina, finally," Kelsey said breathlessly. "Something's happened, something with Victor. I think he's going to try to hurt you!"

"What is it, Kels?" I asked, my heart rate ramping up.

Just then, Garrett walked back into the room. The smile that had been on his face fell the second he saw my serious expression.

"What's going on? What happened?" Garrett asked.

I motioned for him to keep quiet while Kelsey talked. I didn't like how scared she sounded, and I felt every hair on my body stand up as she spoke.

"I was just sitting in the library lobby waiting for my friend Anna to finish studying when I saw Victor storm past me. He looked really angry, and he was muttering to himself as he stormed out of the library. I don't know why, but I felt like I needed to keep an eye on him. I'm glad I did! I texted Anna and told her I'd meet up later while I followed him outside. He took a really bizarre route and kept turning down streets only to double back again. There were times I swore he knew I was following him, and I almost lost him a couple of times since I was trying to stay far back enough so he wouldn't notice me. The last time I lost him, I spent almost half an hour looking for him. I almost gave up when I looked down a dark alley and spotted him.

I got as close as I could, but he was talking to two really scary looking dudes with black hoodies pulled down low over their faces. I hid behind a trash can, wondering what the hell Victor was up to, talking to what looked like drug dealers. He gave them some money and they handed him a bundle that I couldn't quite see from where I was. At first, I thought it was just drugs, but I knew Victor wasn't the type to take anything stronger than Aspirin. Before I could get out of the alley, the group split up and Victor started walking right toward me. I was able to squat behind the trash can enough that he didn't see me as he exited, and I finally caught a glimpse of what he'd bought off the dealers."

"What was it, Kelsey?" I asked after she went silent. I heard hiccupping on the other end, and it took a couple of minutes for her to calm down enough to tell me.

"Victor bought a gun, Laina," she whispered.

"Do you think he means to shoot us?" I replied, dumbfounded.

"As much as I don't want it to turn out that way, I can't think of any other reason he'd buy one," she replied as sobs periodically interrupted her words. "I only saw him one other time since Garrett got arrested, and he looked livid then too. I tried to follow him on his way out of the alley, but I lost him in a crowd. Are you at Garrett's penthouse?"

  "Yes."

"Please, for my sanity, go somewhere Victor would never think to look for you. I couldn't tell exactly where he was going, but it was in the direction of Central Park. I think he's found out where Garrett's penthouse is, and he's heading there right now!"

"How long ago did all this happen?" I asked.

"Maybe ten minutes? It's hard to say, I kind of lost track of time in the excitement of it all."

"So long enough that he could be at our door at any second?"

  "It's definitely possible."

"Thank you, Kelsey," I said. "We'll figure something out."

"I want you to text me every half hour. The second I don't hear from you, I'm calling the cops."

She hung up suddenly, and I turned to Garrett as all the blood drained from my face.

"Victor has a gun," I said, "and Kelsey thinks he's headed here to shoot us. She wants us to hide."

"How would he know where I live?" he asked incredulously. "My address isn't listed, and I'm especially careful to not let that information leak out anywhere."

"If I had to take a guess, I'd say he followed you home one day. Don't ask me how he plans to get around security, but he's smart enough to figure something out."

"I say we assume the worst, in that case. How much time do we have?" he asked as he ran around the room collecting his wallet and keys as he dressed.

"Not much, by my estimate," I replied. "She saw him walk out of the NYU library and he didn't go far to get the gun. I also have no idea how long it was since he left the alley to when she called me. She said she lost track of time, and there's no way to know what route he took."

"I think we'll have enough time," Garrett said confidently. "I'll call my driver and have him bring the SUV around. It's armored, so I'm not worried about Victor firing at us once we're in it. We'll head out to my family's estate in White Plains, and call the cops on the way."

I sat frozen on the bed, panic keeping me from doing anything constructive. This was insanity. What had Garrett and I done to deserve someone coming after us like this?

"Laina," Garrett said impatiently, "We need to get going."

He reached over and pulled me out of the bed. The forcefulness of his grip was enough to snap me out of my trance and I started to throw my clothes back on. Just as I had gathered the last of my things, the doorbell rang.

"Do you think it's Victor?" I asked in a whisper.

"I don't' see how it could be," he replied. "Remember, we called in delivery. It's a private entrance, so whoever comes here has to know the code. I only give it out sparingly and I change it every month."

The doorbell rang again, and we both edged slowly toward the front door. Garrett went first and looked through the peephole.

"It's just the delivery man," he said. "Look."

I stood on my tip toes to peek out, and I saw the distorted face of a man I didn't recognize holding a plastic bag full of food containers. There was something wrong about his expression, though, and I just couldn't put my finger on why. He looked too stiff, and I saw his eyes dart to the side a couple of times as if there was something just beyond the scope of the peephole.

"I don't think you should answer it," I said as the doorbell rang a third time. "There's something wrong about this."

"It's just the delivery guy," he replied coolly "besides, we need to get out the door anyway and we might as well have some food for the road."

Garrett swung the door open wit
h a smile. The delivery guy didn't say anything at first, and I saw Garrett's face fall a split second before I heard the gun shot.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

  "What the..." Garrett said.

I heard what I assumed was the delivery guy fall to the ground. A second gunshot quickly followed the bang echoing off the walls, loud enough to make my ears ring. I screamed and darted toward Garrett. He was crumpled on the ground clutching his stomach. Blood started oozing out from between his fingers and pooling on his shirt. I looked up toward the door to see the shooter staring at me with frigid eyes.

"Victor," I said with a gasp.

He didn't reply and stepped into the room, his gun now trained on me. I broke out in a cold sweat as panic rose within me. I had to call the cops, but my phone was in the other room on the coffee table. Garrett laid in my lap with an already alarming amount of blood on his shirt. He grimaced as a groan ripped through him. Time was important, I had to get an ambulance here, now.
