Possessed by Him Page 5

“Thanks, Gabe. I’m not exactly afraid of snakes, but I don’t really care for them either, especially the poisonous kind.”

“No problem. Wouldn’t want my favorite tour member to be felled by a venomous bite.”

At Gabe’s pleasant comment, Cameron gained a second wind. The path split and Gabe took the left fork. The two of them went down a short hill and around a boulder that looked like it could have been hanging over the cliff. When they got to the other side of it, Cameron realized the large stone was tucked into the hillside pretty good and made up an interesting wall face at the back of a small lookout area.

The flat patch of ground happened to be surrounded by rocks that appeared to have been strategically placed as a perimeter, warning people where the drop off started. Cameron noted the space looked big enough for a two-person tent and campfire. In fact, there was a blackened mass on the ground as if there had been a fire at some point.

“Now here’s why I brought you up so far,” Gabe stated. “Take a look. Isn’t the view spectacular?”

Cameron joined Gabe and gazed out at the vast expanse. Muted greens and browns of the flora Gabe had mentioned dotted the landscape and bordered other mountain peaks under one of the darkest blue skies he’d seen in ages. Standing there in nature, Cameron felt forced to slow down, take a deep breath and appreciate nature along with the lack of manmade noise. Wanting a better view, Cameron kept his focus on a distant point and moved toward the cliff’s edge. Near the boundary, he tripped and stumbled.

In the blink of an eye, Gabe grabbed his arm and pulled him back from taking a header over the side of the lookout. Cameron spun, stopping when he banged against Gabe’s body. As Gabe wrapped his arms around him, Cameron stared into Gabe’s eyes, green like the dark part of a palm tree leaf, and there were the golden flakes littering his irises.

So many times I’ve dreamt of Dyson and seen those same eyes.

Without conscious thought, Cameron crushed his lips against Gabe’s. Gabe opened his mouth and gently sucked on Cameron’s lower lip. The motion reignited the volcanic arousal within Cameron. He poured every ounce of his soul into the kiss, wanting to drink Gabe in and bathe in his essence. Gabe returned the lip lock with equally determined fervor.

Forgetting where he was, what’d happened in the past couple of days, and about where he should be, all Cameron could focus on was the man in his arms, the warmth of Gabe’s body, and the heat of Gabe’s mouth. He didn’t want the moment to end.

A squawk from a bird flying overhead cut the magic short. Cameron stopped the kiss and stepped back. Shocked he made such a move, he blinked and touched his fingertips to his lips. Just because he thought Gabe was his dream man didn’t mean Gabe actually was. He still needed definitive proof. “God, Gabe. I’m sorry. I… Not to say I disliked… I mean, I don’t know what came over me.”

“Cameron, it’s fine. I get it.” Gabe reached out, clasped his shoulder and gave it a squeeze. “I think I know what came over you. To answer your earlier question if we’ve met before…” Gabe took off his baseball cap. Platinum blonde hair cascaded down to his shoulders.

  Chapter Five

“Oh, my God. You... You’re... I can’t believe it. How?” Cameron swallowed hard. “How is it possible? You’ve been in my dreams.” He shook his head. “I… I don’t understand.”

Gabe’s heart went out to Cameron. It had to be unusual to come face to face with him in the flesh after all the years of nocturnal engagements. And if Cameron was shocked now, how was he going to react when he learned who, or rather what, his dream man really was? Gabe moved his hand down Cameron’s arm and took his hand. He made soft circles with his thumb on the back of Cameron’s hand.

Best to start out with small bits of information and lead him into the truth of the whole story little by little.

“You’ve been in my dreams, too. We seem to have a deep metaphysical association that goes beyond the physical world as we know it.”

“That’s a way to put it. When you came up to me down at the camp, I instantly felt we were connected in some kind of cosmic way. It was like I knew you. That we’d been together forever. I also felt as if I’d found a piece of myself, my soul. So I get what you’re saying, but how?” He jerked his hand out of his and stepped back.

Gabe shrugged. He didn’t want to go into the whole story about the two of them yet. Sure, he felt bad for not coming right out and saying who, and what, he was and what he and Cameron were to each other. But a big part of him wanted to make sure their relationship was completely solid before he told Cameron his family story, explained their true link and his ability to shift into a wolf. Good thing his non-verbal answer didn’t seem to bother Cameron.

“You know, a part of me wants to fall at your feet, Gabe, and worship you. You’re the man I’ve wanted to find for as long as I can remember. But I have to admit, there’s another part that wants to turn around and run from what I feel is becoming a ‘Twilight Zone’ episode.” Cameron took a couple steps toward the trail. His shoulders lifted and fell as if he carried a heavy burden.

Without turning around, Cameron continued speaking, “If I left, though, I’d never have any peace because my mind would continue to be possessed by you. Not just in my dreams but with questions of ‘what if.’” He looked over his shoulder. “What if we weren’t together and I never found love? Never had a family, a lifetime, with a partner? As much as I’m spooked by the intensity of my feelings, I don’t want to go.” Cameron’s voice shook, and he finally faced Gabe again. “The thought of never seeing you again now that I’ve met you? It’s a pain that I don’t think I could bear. I know I probably sound like a lunatic. I don’t want to, nor do I want to feel insane. But I… I want…”

“What do you want?” Gabe focused his full attention on the man, whose wavy hair stirred in the breeze. His entire body and being became hyper aware of Cameron’s presence a few feet away. The pressure of their shared kiss still lingered on his lips. He wanted more of Cameron. He wanted his friendship, companionship and love. He’d walked the earth alone for so long, he didn’t know if he’d be able to handle it if Cameron turned his back on him now.

“I know I’ve been babbling, and this is going to sound crazy, too, since we’ve just met. Well, sort of just met. And like I said, I feel like I’ve known you forever. It’s odd, but deep down I know I already love you.” Cameron paused and took a deep breath. “What I want is you. I want you to possess my body like you’ve done my mind all these years.”

“Really? You certain?” A longing unlike anything he’d ever experienced before, even when he’d known Cameron in other lifetimes, overwhelmed him, made him want to grab Cameron, yank him into his arms and kiss him, with or without his answer.

“Yes. As bizarre as this whole situation is, yes.”

No longer keeping his desire to hold Cameron at bay, Gabe closed the distance between them and embraced him. “It makes me happy to hear you say this because I feel the same way. I want you, too, Cameron.”

Gabe planted his mouth on Cameron’s. An iron hot spike struck Gabe in his gut and balls. Every one of his nerves caught fire, enflaming his body with a lust only Cameron could quench. He clasped the back of Cameron’s neck, delighting in the feel of his soft skin, then fed his fingers through Cameron’s tousled dark blond hair.

“Touch me, Gabe,” Cameron whispered into his mouth before swiping his tongue along his.

Gabe’s wolf side pawed at the ground. Could he get away with marking him now? Make him his without the preamble of the story and without his consent? He knew the fair answer was no and subdued his inner wolf with the promise of soon. In the meantime, no one said the two of them couldn’t have some fun.

Emitting an impassioned growl, he unzipped Cameron’s shorts and ran his fingers along the man’s brief-covered penis. Cameron moved his pelvis closer. Craving the sensation of skin on skin, Gabe fed his hand beneath Cameron’s underwear and stroked his hard cock.

  “Does th
is feel good?” Gabe murmured against Cameron’s lips as he toyed with his hard-on and balls.

  “Yes. Fuck yes.”

Gabe trailed kisses along Cameron’s jaw, up to his ear and nipped at his earlobe. Animalistic need to possess the man, claim him in the most intimate way, throbbed along all his nerve endings, threatening the control he had on his wolf. “I want you, Cameron. I need you as much as I need air and water to survive.”

Cameron smoothed his hands down his back and squeezed his ass. “I feel the same. You have some condoms and lube on you, right?”

“Shit.” Gabe released Cameron and moved away. Feeling like he’d been doused with ice water, he ran a hand along the top of his head. “No. I’m guessing there’s none hiding in those cargo shorts of yours either.”

  “Nope.”

“Well, maybe it’s for the best. Do we really want our first time together to be on the ground or a boulder?”

“Let me point out,” Cameron said, coming up beside him and wrapping an arm around his waist, “if the mystical, dream connection we have is really real, then this technically isn’t our first time. Right?”

“You have a point, but that still doesn’t change the fact that neither of us has any protection on hand.”

“Hand. Hands. Mouths. Frottage. There’re a few different ways we can satisfy each other.”

“You’re right.” Gabe captured Cameron’s mouth in another kiss, only pausing long enough to pull their shirts over their heads.

He ran his hands up Cameron’s smooth chest, tracing the dips and curves of his muscles. When Gabe latched onto one of Cameron’s hard nubs, Cameron sucked in a stream of air. Putting his lips on Cameron’s body was like heaven and hell. Heaven because it’d been ages since he tasted and touched his other half in the flesh. Hell because all he wanted to do was bite him and make him his for as long as their lives would last.

More heat raced through Gabe’s veins and down into his cock, making it rock hard. He gazed straight into Cameron’s blue-gray eyes. “God, I want you, Cameron. I want you to take me in that beautiful mouth of yours.”

  “With pleasure.”

Cameron dropped to his knees in front of him, reached out and yanked his jeans down and off his body.

  “Spread your legs, Gabe.”

He did as Cameron requested. His cock protruded from his body, bobbing to and fro as he settled into a shoulder-width stance. Staring down upon him as Cameron positioned himself between his thighs and stroked, licked, and kissed his cock and balls, Gabe tilted his head back, loving the way Cameron took command of his body, his senses. The deep blue sky fell from sight as did the rest of the mountain’s view. Gabe closed his eyes to savor the exquisite feel of Cameron’s moist, warm mouth on his shaft.

“You’re incredible.” He stroked Cameron’s head.

Cameron licked his way off his cock, grasped it in a semi-closed fist and pumped his hand as he stared at him. “So are you. This cock?” He lapped the bead of pre-cum that’d beaded on the tip. “Amazing.” He dipped down once more to Gabe’s crotch, taking his whole cock into his mouth.

Lusty pleasure flooded Gabe, making him ravenous for the man who moved to suck his balls. “Cameron, I want to taste you.” He tugged at him to have him stand, but Cameron wouldn’t budge.

“I’m not done with you yet.” Cameron drew his tongue along Gabe’s cock.

Gabe sucked in a thin stream of air. He couldn’t believe how wonderful the blow job felt, the wet mouth against his silky shaft. It’d been ages since he last had his mate in the flesh and experienced such intimacy with him. Though fucking Cameron’s mouth wasn’t like being balls deep in his ass. He wanted to howl at the sky with happiness.

Yet, the truth about his shifting capability and immortality hung heavy over his head. He pondered if what they were doing constituted their relationship solidifying. Probably not. Which meant it still wasn’t time to tell Cameron everything. But then, if he waited too long, Cameron might not like that either. Cameron could accuse him of being secretive. He released a big sigh.

Cameron slurped off his length. “You okay, Gabe?”

“Yeah.” He paused and glanced down at the man kneeling before him. Perhaps it would be best to just lay everything out at the start and see what happens. “Actually, there is something important I need to explain to you before our relationship develops further.”

Cameron stood and brushed the dirt off his knees. “All right. Should I be concerned?”

“No. I don’t believe so. Just some family history and—”

Rocks tumbling along the ground and off the cliff several feet away snatched Gabe’s focus. He sniffed the air. No scents that he could determine. That didn’t mean anything though since anti-scent repellants were in use by the Helldorado Mongrels.

  “Gabe?”

He held up a finger to his lips, silently indicating a need for quiet. Scuffling on the ground came from behind the boulder, but it was fading, not getting closer. Whoever or whatever had been there was leaving.

“Sorry. I thought I heard something.”

“Actually, so did I. And I’m feeling a little creeped out.”

“I’m a bit unsettled, too. I’m thinking it’s best that we get back to camp. Em and I have some business to deal with there this evening with the group and I need to coordinate with her about it still.”

“All right.” Cameron resituated his clothing.

The disappointment in Cameron’s voice cut him. Already mucking up the works, good one, Gabe. The interruption had taken care of his erection and he put his semi-hard cock back where it belonged once he pulled his clothes back up. “After breakfast tomorrow we have some free time before we go rafting. How about you and I spend that time together? Come back up here? Finish what we started?”

  “Sounds great.”

Joy had returned to Cameron’s voice, and Gabe smiled. He couldn’t wait to be alone with Cameron again and be with him for the rest of eternity.

  Chapter Six

Kane slipped away from where he’d found the men on the cliff. First he’d heard Emma and Gabe talking about the gold that’d been part of the feud between their families for over a century, then he tracked where Cameron and Gabe had disappeared to. Lucky for him he’d found them when he had. Before things got too intimately intense between them. Watching two guys fuck each other wasn’t something he was into. Good thing the little he’d heard before he slipped on some gravel was enough to confirm Inferno’s suspicion about Cameron and his relation to Gabe.

With distance between him, the camp and the lovers, he figured it’d be safe to make a call and report his findings. He dialed Inferno.

  “Inferno. Speak.”

“It’s Kane. Your intel was on the money. I heard our cousins talking about the gold. Emma and Gabe still believe it’s theirs and expect to find the stash that the Mongrels buried. Seems they run the tours to help them get opportunities to search for it. And here’s the best part,” he paused and took a breath. He hated stroking Inferno’s ego since it was already super inflated, but he also liked breathing and not pushing up daisies so he had to feed the man’s vanity. “You’re right. Gabe’s other half is here. They’re together.”

“Fuck, yeah,” Inferno’s exclamation sounded through the receiver. “Knew it. Well, go get Gabe’s pup and bring him to me.”

“I’m working on it. I have a feeling the right opportunity to nab him will present itself soon. Have no worries.”

“Have no worries he says,” Inferno mocked. “I don’t pay you to have feelings or to think. I pay you to do. Now, get the job done or else I’ll subject you to the ring.”

  The call disconnected.

  What an ass.

Kane wanted to throw the base-model, cheap pay-as-you-go phone at the nearest rock and smash it to bits, but he’d surely be thrown into the fighting ring then. Inferno ruled like a dictator and didn’t like people to disobey him or destroy his property. He shoved the small cell phone into his pock
et and let loose a string of profanities.

I’m fucking family, and I’m still treated like a god damned probate. He knows I deserve better and should be in a leadership position. Ass doesn’t pay me at all either.

What a fricking shit storm the Mongrels were in having Inferno as president. No wonder Hannibal wanted to step down.

Regardless of how upset he was over his treatment and how he hated doing Inferno’s dirty work, Kane knew he’d follow through and do what Inferno expected of him. For decades his main goal had always been to win Inferno’s approval, make him proud and move up in the club’s ranks. Now that the VP position was opening he was going to seize the opportunity to move toward becoming alpha. So there was no sense stopping midway through the current job.

The Helldorado Mongrels definitely needed new blood in command, and Kane was ready for the challenge.

He mentally reviewed the tour schedule Emma had handed out earlier. Tomorrow morning after breakfast they had some free time. He’d make his move and separate Cameron from the pack then. Kane wanted to get this job of Inferno’s done and over with fast. Sooner started and completed, the sooner he could get back to the ’pound, find himself some club tail and get to work on becoming alpha.

Goal or not, after this gig Inferno can go fuck himself. If he needs anything else done, I’ll act the part of alpha and tell him he can get a fucking probate to do it.

Kane pulled the phone out of his pocket. If he was going to abduct Cameron and bring him to the ’pound, he’d need four wheeled transportation and someone he trusted to ride the motorcycle home. He punched in a number. When a man on the other end answered, he grinned.

“Hi, Thumbs. I need a favor. First thing tomorrow morning I need you to bring me a truck.”
