His cock stirred behind the fly of his jeans. He caught her gaze and grinned. She gripped the bouquet she held tighter, and the small diamond engagement ring he’d recently placed on her finger under the big Colorado sky seemed to twinkle in the shafts of sunlight streaming through the pines.
As he released a breath, it caught in his lungs.
Dane nudged him. “Soon it’ll be you.”
Asher cocked his head toward his brother beside him. “You first, brother.”
Brennah came up the aisle right behind Kinsey. And finally, the bride.
Asher barely heard the words the preacher spoke or noted when the couple kissed as man and wife—his eyes were only for Kinsey.
The moment the cheer went up and hugs were passed around, he broke free of the small party and grabbed his woman to haul her a distance away.
“Asher!” She cried out as he pressed her around the corner of a fat tree and pinned her up against the trunk.
She laughed. “You’re going to make my dress dirty.”
“I’m gonna make a lot more than that dirty. Let me have these nipples. Don’t think I haven’t noticed how hard they’ve been all day.” He reached into her bodice and pulled her breast up and out of her cup to swipe his tongue over the hard point.
Her breaths came faster in sharp pants that punctuated her desire for him. As if the hard bud on his tongue didn’t do that already.
He sucked her nipple into his mouth, and she wiggled against him.
“How bad do you want me, doll?”
“So…bad.” She squelched a cry as he grazed his teeth over her nipple.
“Let’s hope no one comes lookin’ for us for a little bit then.” He looked into her eyes and whipped her dress up to cup her pussy through a satin thong. The damp cloth molded to his fingertips as he teased her seam and located the hard nub of her clit.
“Oh God…” She went for his belt, and together they shoved his jeans down enough to release his cock. “Good thing we don’t need condoms anymore,” she rasped, drawing his erection toward her wet pussy.
He pressed the thong aside to allow him entrance. Then in one hard thrust, he filled her. Their mouths melded in a tongue-tangling kiss as he fucked her up against the tree. She bit back noises, and he swallowed his groans. Through the pines, more guitar music serenaded them to a bone-melting finish.
She hung in his grasp as the last spurt of cum left his body. Her pussy contracted around him with her own aftershocks.
Still joined, he used his knuckles beneath her chin to draw her head up. Their gazes locked.
“Forever,” he murmured.
Her eyes glowed with tears, making them look like a mountain pond. “And ever.”
He leaned in and kissed her once more, sealing their love on a promise no man could ever strip from them.
THE END

“Morgon.”
The voice of his commanding officer, now a Navy general, could never be mistaken. Oz still heard his commands echoing in his damn dreams.
“General Kilbourn.” A smile spread over his face at this old connection but resurrected a few that plucked his heartstrings as well. “To what do I owe the honor? Have you finally retired and are calling to offer me your brass hat?”
“No, goddammit. I call you once in eighteen years and your only response is to grab for my rank.” The harsh tone had Oz snapping his mouth shut on any further comments.
“This is no joking matter,” Kilbourn bit off.
“What can I do for you, general?”
A heavy beat of silence hit Oz before the man’s reply, like a sonic boom coming after the explosion.
“My daughter is missing.”
Jesus fucking Christ. Rose.
“What the hell happened? Where did they take her from?” Tingles shot up from his fingertips to his face, and he realized his blood vessels had constricted with the shock. This was typically when people passed out, but he held on to the threads of control.
“From somewhere in DC.”
“You don’t know?” he practically screamed into the phone. His voice resounded in the high church ceiling.
“No. We have closed circuit cameras showing she left her house around Oh-ten hundred and then went for a run.”
Fucking hell.
“We can get you the footage,” Kilbourn said.
“I can get the footage myself. You believe she’s been kidnapped.” He knew Rose worked as a JAG, had climbed the ranks quickly after she defended a lieutenant and got him out of some extreme charges, which put her services in high demand. Her job and all she did required that she dug into back alleyways that someone might be trying to keep secret.
“Yes, she’s been kidnapped. She hasn’t been home in two days and didn’t show up for work this morning. That isn’t like Rose.”
“No. No, it isn’t,” he said softly. “Does this have to do with a case?”
“Yes. This isn’t just a controlled substance charge and dishonorable discharge punishment we’re talking about here—it’s a high profile case of treason, and we might be dealing with groups that can do Rose real harm.”
“Does Rose believe this man she’s defending is innocent?” Her name scorched on his tongue.
“She does.”
“But she may have dug too deep, stirred up a hornet’s nest.”
“Exactly,” Kilbourn barked. “Oz—I only trust you. Get her back for me.”
“I will. In the meantime, do not allow any government agencies to get involved. Those untrained bastards will only get in my way.”
“I know—it’s why I called you first.”
“I’ll be in touch.”
Before the words left his mouth, he took off through the church, back to the rectory. He threw the door open, and it bounced off the wall. Madeline looked up, a question on her lips.
“Sister, I need your skills.”
“Of course.” She stood.
He looked around. “North? I need your tracking skills. Find this address and get every map up for a two-mile perimeter, along with every camera with eyes on those streets.”
He turned to Madeline. “I need you to find someone’s life, Madeline.”
She plopped down into her seat behind the most technologically advanced setup in the world. “Name?”
“Rose Kilbourn. Daughter of General Alexander Nicholas Kilbourn, US Navy.”
Her fingers flew over the keys, and images began popping up, along with articles. When Rose’s photo in her JAG hat and uniform came into view, Oz gripped on to the edge of the desk. All of a sudden, this shit he did every day for a living seemed real.
“Oz.”
He pivoted to North. On the big wall screen, the man had a map of the entire vicinity on screen. Moments later, Madeline added her layer of intel, which mapped out every single one of Rose’s movements over the course of a month.
Oz’s heart walls flexed. He stared at the screen. “Jesus Christ, this is her life.”
Her condominium and the office where she worked. The market she frequented, a coffeeshop and the gym.
Her life is so small. But it’s hers.
A theater visited the previous weekend. Did she sit alone in the dark or did a man hold her hand and pass her the popcorn?
North jabbed at the screen. “I think this is where she was taken.”
Oz gave him a sharp look. “Why there?”
“Because the camera overlaps fail here. There’s a gap. See?” North pointed between two screens. Sure enough, the street corner had a six foot gap that put it off the map—in total darkness.
“Get yesterday’s footage up on the screen, after Oh-ten hundred.”
North leaned in and punched a few keys. Seconds later, Rose came into view, crossing from one camera to the next, sprinting the busy city sidewalks, her long legs Oz remembered far too easily eating up the sidewalks. A blonde ponytail bou
nced on the back of her head, and her tits…
“Fuck.” He swiped a hand over his face to eliminate the image of her round breasts in front of his face, nipples straining for his tongue.
As she neared the drop between video surveillance, he stared unblinkingly at the screen.
A white van cut her off, careening into her path. Then a second later, not only was the van gone, but Rose was too.
“Someone took her,” Madeline said in the soft, reverent tones only a true sister of The Guard could utter.
Oz couldn’t look away from that spot where Rose had disappeared. “Find out all you can about that van. License, registration, rental records. Everything.”
“On it,” Madeline said.
He whirled to the door and threw it open with a bang that caused the others to jump. “Gilly!” he bellowed into the church.
Seconds later, a man appeared from another room off the main nave where the pews were located. The SEAL wasn’t retired—he’d been tossed out of the special forces for breaking all the rules, which only made him a prime candidate for The Guard.
Oz waved at him. “You’re with me.”
“Sure, boss. Where are we going?”
“Not certain yet.” He walked back into the rectory, and Gilly followed.
“Found your van, Oz.” North lifted a hand to indicate the vehicle barreling down the highway.
“Bound for the coast. Fuck, I knew it. Gilly, you know these ports in and out.” He could also swim like he had the gills he’d been nicknamed for and possessed a fluent tongue in practically every language on the goddamn planet.
“Madeline, get us a chopper. Gilly, be ready in twenty minutes.”
“I can be ready in ten, Oz.”
He stared at the screens again. Rose… Fuck, Rose. What if I can’t get you back?
What if she recognized him when he did?
