“Let me ask you a question Mr. President. You remember September 11th, 2001 correct? One of the worst days in your country’s history I understand. How do you think your Congress and Senate would have responded to your Patriot Act on September 10th of that same year?” Braedon didn’t wait for an answer, he continued as he addressed the entire group. “It’s called problem, reaction, solution everyone. As in the U.S. example, there was a problem that arose, the people’s reaction was to request greater protection and the Patriot Act was the solution. It received almost no resistance and was voted into law even though it stripped citizens of their rights under certain circumstances. My point here is this. As soon as millions of people begin to disappear your citizens will demand protection.” Braedon walked over to the British Prime Minister who was now holding the metal disk. Braedon took it and held it up again.
“When they demand protection and they want a solution to the problem you can say the following. ‘Guess what everyone? Our brightest scientists have worked feverishly to come up with a solution just in time, and here it is! Please go to your nearest hospital, clinic or town hall to have this free implant installed. It is guaranteed to effectively and safely protect you! Do you see where I am going with this? Don’t worry about it today. Just wait and see for yourself that what I am saying is true. Take the paperwork back with you and when the time comes you will be ready. Ladies and gentleman, it is time for the New World Order! I will leave you all with this thought. You won’t have to force any of these new objectives on anyone. When the time comes, your citizens will beg for it.”
As Braedon finished he slipped the disk back into his pocket and motioned to the guards again. They headed towards the exit with Braedon in the lead, followed by Traedon. Just as they reached John and Jenny near the door, there was an outburst from one of the men seated in the group.
“Anticristo! Anticristo!” They turned to see the Prime Minister of Italy running towards them. He had a handgun in his hand and was pointing it in the middle of the small group in Braedon’s direction. He got to within ten feet and gave one last yell as he squeezed the trigger.
“Alla morte dell'anticristo!” Braedon quickly and easily moved aside, out of the way of the oncoming bullet. The spinning piece of .38 caliber lead grazed Braedon’s earlobe and deflected. John watched in amazement as all movement in the room suddenly stopped, except for the bullet. He watched it head straight towards Jenny. He wasn’t sure if it was because of the new changes in him, but the bullet slowed down as he watched it moving towards them in slow motion. John focused on the spinning projectile trying to slow it down with his mind. It seemed to be working. The bullet was slowing as it came nearer. He continued to focus as hard as he could, but John was either too late or not strong enough and the scene changed back into regular time as the slug entered the top of Jenny’s skull, throwing her backwards onto the floor.
“No!” He yelled and dropped onto the ground next to her. Lucas and Hosea ran over and began checking her wound as all five Annunaki guards drew their weapons and fired on the Italian Prime Minister. He fell to the floor in an unrecognizable steaming pile of flesh.
“There’s nothing you can do for her,” said Braedon. “She’s beyond your medical training, only our doctors can help her now.” Braedon gestured to the guards. Two of them quickly exited the room and came back with two more carrying a gurney. They quickly placed Jenny on it and exited through the large double oak doors. John, Braedon and the rest of the Annunaki group followed, closing the doors behind them with a loud crack that echoed through the room. There was silence as the remaining twenty-seven leaders stared at what was left of the twenty-eighth, the Italian Prime Minister. The U.N. Secretary General spoke first.
“What the hell was that? What just happened here?” He began to punch the panic button again.
Hosea leaned over towards Lucas. “What was he yelling?”
“He was yelling ‘Death to the Antichrist’ in Italian.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” asked Hosea.
“Well, based on everything we just heard, I could see how some might see him fitting the profile. Especially since Italy is home to the Vatican and the Roman Catholic Church.”
Suddenly the doors opened again and a swarm of armed soldiers entered the room following the General. “What’s going on here? Is everyone alright?” he asked.
“Everyone except him,” the U.N. Secretary General responded pointing towards the heap in the middle of the floor. ”Where have you been? Why didn’t you respond to the alarm?”
“I’m not sure, no one seems to remember anything, it’s like everyone blacked out.”
Lucas walked over to the front of the double doors and was inspecting the floor.
“What are you looking for?” asked Hosea.
“Ah, here we are.” Lucas bent over and pointed at a drop of blood on the tile near where Braedon had been standing. “We need a kit over here, I want to test this,” he yelled. Within a few minutes Lucas got a sample and quickly went to the lab to test it.
Hosea watched intently as Lucas feverishly tested the sample and ran DNA screens. Hosea finally broke the silence. “What is going on here Lucas? Who was that?”
“I don’t know. If he was telling the truth then he is one of the Annunaki of old. That’s why I’m very interested in these tests. To see if I can prove it.”
“And I don’t understand what John and Jenny were doing there. How did they get there? I wish I could have spoken to them.” Hosea continued to speak as Lucas worked with lab samples and checked results.
“Too many questions Hosea and not enough answers.” Lucas set a tray of test tubes down on the table in front of him.
“And I also don’t understand how we didn’t figure all of this out years ago. About the Annunaki and their visits here. Oh and I hope Jenny is okay. That looked like a bad head wound.”
Lucas rolled his eyes and let out a sigh. “Do you always talk this much Hosea?”
“Sorry, no. Only when I’m nervous.”
Lucas gave him a reassuring smile. “It’s okay, don’t worry about it.” He moved another batch of samples before continuing. “The stories of the Annunaki have been around for a very long time. Only no one took them seriously. That’s what I’ve been trying to get across to people for years at my lectures. That what the Sumerians said long ago might actually be true. The problem Hosea, is that believing it threatens most peoples religious beliefs.”
“Yes, but at some point don’t you think people would have set their beliefs aside for the sake of knowledge or truth?”
“We worship the Gods of our fathers Hosea. Do you know what I mean by that? Everyone typically continues to believe what their parents taught them about religion, for their entire lives. Between family members and the Church, people become so well indoctrinated that they don’t want to learn about anything else. It’s like a prison for their mind Hosea. They will follow it so blindly, that even when faced with the truth, they will continue to defend the very institution that confines them.” A timer suddenly chimed on the table behind them and Lucas jumped out of his seat. “Finally!” he exclaimed as he rubbed his hands together in anticipation. “The results we’ve been waiting for.” Lucas peered at the monitors in front of him for several minutes. “Unbelievable. Hosea, come here. Look at this!” he said excitedly.
Hosea moved around to the other side of the table next to Lucas. “What is that?”
“This is a complete picture of his DNA. You see all the markers here and here.” He spoke as he pointed to several places on the screen. It would seem their DNA is identical except they have another set of DNA strands. It’s like a quadruple helix. And look at this, see how all of these markers line up? It’s like the remains of the woman that was found in Africa remember? Every human DNA sample on Earth could be linked back to her?”
“Yes, I remember. What does it mean?”
“This sample has the same markers. It would seem that Braedon’s DNA is e
mbedded in all of us. Hosea, it means that Braedon is the father of all mankind.”
The Ties That Bind
John felt like he had been sitting outside the Healing Ward for hours. He sat on a long plush bench in the hallway, just outside the door of the room where the doctors were working on Jenny. The seconds ticked by excruciatingly slowly as his mind reeled on the day’s events. The door in front of him finally opened and Braedon walked out into the corridor where he was sitting. John didn’t even have to ask, he could feel the answer he wanted coming from Braedon’s mind.
“We got lucky. She’s going to be just fine. The bullet didn’t penetrate very far and there was only mild tissue damage. She will most likely be unconscious for several days while her brain and wound heal, but I assure you she will make a full recovery.”
“Can I see her?”
“That’s probably not a good idea just yet John. You’re not going to be able to control your thoughts enough to stay out of hers, and she needs to rest. Get some sleep and you can come see her in the morning before you leave. I can assure you John, she is going to be just fine.”
“Before I leave?”
“Yes, you need to start making preparations for your new role here. Can we talk for a minute?” Braedon led John through a door and into a room on the opposite side of the corridor.
“My new role here? What do you mean? I don’t remember signing up for this. I never agreed to get involved, and now more than ever, Jenny needs me here. I can’t just leave.”
“John, you were meant for this, it is your destiny. You are a Sura, do you think that is just a coincidence? Do you think being here, in this place, happened just by chance? John I need you, and your people need you.”
“Jenny needs me!” John threw his arms up in exasperation.
“Your family needs you even more right now. Jenny is fine. Your families are the ones who are danger.”
“I can’t do this!” John shook his head as tears began to well in his eyes.
“John, you were meant for this. Look back on your life. Do you think your miraculous recovery from your fall when you were a child was just a coincidence? Or the out of body experience you had in the fifth grade? The way Frank was able to communicate with you, and even Jake coming to visit? You are special John. You’re genetically perfect. You can do anything!” He stared intently into John’s eyes as he spoke, until John finally broke their gaze.
“Look John, I know the well-being of you family is weighing heavy on you, and I know you want to warn them of what’s coming. I thought you could go up to the surface and make sure they’re okay. The abductions could start at any moment. I will send you with a briefcase with enough of the disks for your entire extended family and I will have one of our nurses show you how to insert them. Now please, get some rest if you can, and I will send someone to your room in the morning. You can visit with your wife and then you can go save both of your extended families.”
“They are weighing heavy on me. I also want to tell them what’s going on and make sure they’re protected.”
Braedon led John back to his room and shook his hand. “Goodnight John, get some rest.”
John entered his room and lay down on the soft bed, his mind filled with thoughts about leaving to go see his family. What am I going to tell them? He knew he would have trouble convincing his mom and dad to take the chip, even if it was their best chance of surviving. He didn’t want to leave Jenny behind, and Frank was still unconscious. None of this seems right, he thought. John eventually fell into a troubled sleep, dreaming about what the future could hold.
John woke up the next morning feeling energized and refreshed, regardless of his poor nights sleep. He splashed some water on his face and got dressed into the fresh clothes that he found at the end of the bed. Jenny was still on his mind, motivating him to move quickly. He left his room in such a hurry that he almost knocked over a woman standing in front of his door, just about to knock. She was dressed in white and was carrying a briefcase.
“Oh, good morning John.”
“Good morning. Can I help you?” John asked still looking surprised.
“I’m here to give you this, and take you down to see Jennifer.” John followed her down the corridor and after a few twists and turns they were outside the door of the Healing Ward. The woman opened the door and John followed her inside. Jenny was lying on one of the beds against the wall.
“How is she doing, do you know?” The woman didn’t answer, but a nurse immediately entered the room through a doorway at the other end.
“She is doing amazingly well John. She’s healed about twenty percent of her injury during the night. At that rate she should be up and around within three or four days.” John sat at the edge of the bed and put Jenny’s hand in his. He touched her forehead between her eyebrows just below the bandages that ran the circumference of the top of her head. She looked rested and peaceful. John touched her cheek and reached out for her with his mind.
“Jen? Are you there? Can you hear me?” There was no direct answer, but John could feel she was responding to his voice. He was able to read two of her thoughts before she slipped back into a deep sleep.
“I love you John and I’m okay.”
He squeezed her hand as he bent over and kissed the bridge of her nose. It was good to see for himself that she was alright. Braedon entered the room and reviewed the flat screen monitor attached to the wall behind her as he spoke. “Looking good John, she’s doing very well. Do you feel better now that you were able to see her?”
“Yes, I can feel that she is doing well.”
Braedon smiled as he turned to face John. “See? I told you, she is in good hands.”
“I never doubted it. And Braedon?”
“Yes John.” Braedon looked intently into John’s face with a concerned expression.
“Thank you for everything you are doing. She means the world to me you know.”
“Yes, I do know. You are very welcome. Just like I told you, we are here to help in any way that we can. I can’t stand the thought of any of you getting hurt. By the way John I received news this morning from the surface. The disappearances are starting. We have been receiving hourly updates. Several thousand missing person reports are flooding in from all over the world. This is it John, it’s starting.” Braedon suddenly looked very distraught and John thought he could almost see a tear welling in his eye.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, it’s just my father’s actions anger me. I feel sorry for the souls of those who are being taken. I just thought you would want to know so you can get going right away, and get to your family.”
“Thank you. I better get going then.” John stood up and wrung his hands together nervously. “Really? Thousands, just like that? I guess I thought we would have more time, I mean we can’t even see their planet yet and they are already here.”
“That’s how it works John, unfortunately the element of surprise has always been to their advantage. They are similar to a burglar in the middle of the night. Arriving unexpectedly and stealing whatever they can. Fortunately we’re here to help. I knew it could start at any time. So are you ready?”
“Yes, I think so. Do I need to get that chip put in me? I mean, so I don’t get kidnapped while I’m up there?”
“That’s already been done John, when you first arrived.” John felt the back of his neck. He could barely tell there was anything under the skin. The only reason he knew something was there was because of a sensitive spot in the center of his neck. It seemed strange to John that this was the first he had been told of having an implant. “I’m going to give you a quick tutorial. Just load the disk here, see like this? And then press this part first against the exact center of the person’s neck. Then pull the trigger, it’s that easy.” John took the gun from Braedon and inspected it, turning it over in his hands. Braedon gave John a pleased look with a slight smirk on his face. “Very well, you are ready then. Ninti here will be giving you what you need f
or your trip and give a quick training session on the elevator system, then you will be on your way. Contact me once you are done with your family, we will have some business to attend to. Good Luck!” He firmly shook John’s hand and left the room.
Ninti turned to face him. “Are you ready then?”
“Absolutely, let’s go!” John bent over and kissed Jenny one more time before following Ninti out of the room. She led him to a smaller adjacent room and set the briefcase on a small table. John had an odd feeling run through his mind, but he couldn’t quite figure out what it was. Ninti snapped the briefcase open and spun it around so John could view its contents.
“Okay, we weren’t exactly sure what you had with you and what you may need for ID so here is a new U.S. Passport and driver's license. There are also four packs of ten disk chips, so forty of those, as well as the gun. There is also a credit card with no limit and a digital smart phone with all the numbers you will need programmed in. Let’s see, some American dollars and Euros in cash and that’s about it. Any questions?”
John recognized the sensation he was feeling. “Yes, are you…” he paused for a moment and looked her in the eye, “Human?” She seemed taken aback by John’s question. She quickly closed the briefcase and handed it to him.
“Yes, now let’s get to the elevators.”
“But what are you doing down here? Where are you from?”
The woman looked nervous as she led John back out into the corridor. “I don’t really understand your question and I was told not to answer any that you may ask, unless it was related to your trip.” She paused and then decided the question was harmless. “I have always been here, this is my home, and this is where I’m from.” She gestured to their surroundings with her outstretched hands.
“Now I don’t understand, you mean Braedon has always had people down here, working for him? Like slaves?”
