When the Lights Come On (Barflies Book 4) Page 29

by Katia Rose

My creepiness aside, I can confidently say this was the most difficult of my books to write yet. As cheesy as it sounds, what got me through all the days of asking myself if I was broken or if I’d ever finish a novel again was thinking about the people who read my books. It is humbling beyond measure to know that amidst the multitude of titles you could devote your reading hours to, you’ve chosen this story. It’s a privilege and an honor to have my words fill that place in your life, and again, I’m going to sound unforgivably cheesy, but there is no way in hell I could do any of this without you.

I also could not do it without an amazing group of other humans!

First off, I must extend eternal gratitude, praise, and cookies of the spirit to my fan-freaking-tastic beta readers. I’m always lucky beyond measure to get so many insightful and talented people looking at my work and providing me with the feedback to turn it into something that actually makes sense. Anna, Farah, Kirsten, Julie, Jovana, Lucy, Mimi, and Ginny: When the Lights Come On would not be what it is without you, and Youssef and Paige are very glad I had your help!

Jazz: thank you for your time, your insights, and all your advice and observations. Also for being such a fast reader! You were integral part of ensuring this story did its characters justice, and I’m so happy I had the chance to work with you.

To my ARC team, my blogger buddies, and everyone helping out with promoting the book’s release: YAY TEAM! I’ve said it many acknowledgments sections before this, but I’ll say it again: you are what makes the romance community what it is. You allow authors and readers alike to thrive and find connection, and I am so immensely grateful to be part of that.

Finally, thank you, Sport—for being there through it all, even when it’s difficult (and lordy, does it ever get difficult) (why did I just say lordy?) You’re there every step of the way, and though sometimes I might fail to show you this as much as you deserve, I am grateful for every single one of those steps with you.

  About the Author

Katia Rose is not much of a Pina Colada person, but she does like getting caught in the rain. She prefers her romance served steamy with a side of smart, and is a sucker for quirky characters. A habit of jetting off to distant countries means she’s rarely in one place for very long, but she calls the frigid northland that is Canada home.
