“Do you like that, sweetheart?” he growled around his thickening canines.

“Yes, please…more,” she mumbled against the blanket on the bed.

“I’m going to mark you,” he warned, wrapping his hand in her hair. When her back touched his chest, Luna reached for his free hand and brought it to her breast.

“I need…I need something,” she cried out as he took her nipple between his two fingers.

“Let go,” he snarled, striking the spot where her neck and shoulder met. The sound of her orgasm was earth shattering, and when he released her, his cock was still hard. There was no way he was going to let the mating be done that quickly. Luna deserved an attentive lover and one who cherished her.

“I’m going to make love to you now,” he said, helping her over to her back.

She surprised him by reaching for him before he had a chance to climb up her slender body. He nestled himself between her legs and waited for her to catch her breath. He brushed her long, brown hair back from her face and used the back of his knuckle to trace the line of her jaw.

“You are beautiful,” he whispered, kissing her again.

“Thank you for being my mate,” she said, raising her legs to wrap around his waist. He entered her slower this time. His beast was content and let the human side of the male take the lead.

With each thrust, with every touch, their bond solidified. Love would come in time for them, just as it had been for the shifters since the beginning of creation. Fate always had a plan, and Harold accepted the fact that Mother Nature sent this white wolf into his life to make him complete.

  Epilogue

Harold watched over his mate as she said goodbye to the males who’d survived with her. Theo would go with the misfit shifters to his home in New York and begin a new kind of pride…one for anyone looking for a family.

“I’m glad they’re going to be okay.” Luna grinned, looking up at him. Talon had given her his blood that morning to welcome her into the pride. Harold watched over the proceeding like a hawk, making sure Luna would be okay taking his leader’s oath.

“Everything will work out for them,” he vowed, breathing a sigh of relief his mate was perfectly fine. “If they are ever in need, Talon has already left an open invitation for them to come here. We have plenty of room.”

Luna waved as Booth drove the SUV down the long driveway to take the four males to the airport. All of the pride had gathered to wish them well, and now that they were gone, everyone quietly sauntered off, back to their daily tasks.

Winter and Nova returned the night before and their pride was complete again. There were no whispers of danger coming their way, but that didn’t mean things would forever be peaceful.

“Can we eat with the pride tonight?” Luna asked, pulling him from his thoughts.

“Of course,” Harold replied, but frowned. “Do you not like my cooking?”

“I do,” she giggled, “but I’d like to spend some time with the other females.”

“Sweetheart,” he sighed, leaning over to kiss the top of her head. “This is your family now. You can visit them whenever you want.”

“Well, I have about a week’s worth of work to do on that messy office of yours,” she teased, rolling her eyes. “I’m not going to see them for a while.”

“That’s not funny,” he huffed, scooping Luna into his arms. He kissed her silent and walked toward their home. “Before dinner, I get you to myself.”

“Sounds like a good idea to me.” Luna rested her head against his chest, right over his heart. The heart that belonged to his white wolf.
