Last Call Page 4

by Samantha Gordon

"She snapped, William. The one year anniversary hit, and she lost it. She's out hunting drunk drivers. She probably watches them for days and weeks before. She's out with friends or by herself and she sees them. The ones who have a few too many and leave. Then the first anniversary hits, and it's too much. She's saving other mother's kids and leaving the teddy bear to memorialize her son."

"She's off the grid." William had been furiously typing. Matthew Milton had been the only son of Karen Milton. There was no known address listed anymore and no credit card activity. "She changed her name, I bet. How the fuck are we going to find her?"
