  Chapter 1 (Maggie)

It's the first day of my senior year, and I really can’t express how excited I am. Amy and I are supposed to meet outside, but she isn't here yet so I'm sitting in my jeep, waiting on her. We live in a small town in Texas called Bumble Bee. I love it here, even though there’s not a whole lot to do. We always find some way to entertain ourselves. We all love football, and most people here either own their own ranch or are employed on one. My family owns a large ranch about ten miles outside of town. I guess you can say that we’re rich. My dad has a lot of people working on the ranch, including two of my brothers when they aren’t bull riding. Our mom hates what they do and I don’t blame her. It’s scary but both of them are really good. I race barrels, which is really fun, I’m not going to be like my brothers and do it professedly though. I have two brothers in collage, and another brother whom is a Navy SEAL. My twin brother, Adam, and I are high school seniors.

I look out my jeep window and see my brother and his football buddies “Great. Please don’t let them see me,” I mutter. He looks over, sees my jeep, waves, and starts walking over. Damn it. I don’t feel like dealing with his buddies this early.

All my brothers are tall at around 6’5”, with black hair, green eyes, and nice looking bodies. Every girl thinks they’re gorgeous. They’re also players…love ‘em, leave ‘em type of guys. Most girls know the score, but there’s some that still try to push them into dating. I roll my eyes every time. I know that they aren’t going to change for just anybody. It’s going to take a really awesome girl. I kind of think that my brothers are scared of getting their hearts broken so that’s why they don’t date.

Adam opens my door and pops his head in. “Hey, baby girl. Why are you sitting in here?” I hate when he calls me that and he knows it. All of my brothers and dad use my nickname, and I want to slap their face when they do. I have black hair and green eyes, just like my dad and brothers; I’m around 5’7”, and all the guys say that I have a killer body. I'm wearing a light blue jean mini-skirt, yellow tank top, and yellow heels; I have my hair down and a little bit of make-up on; my belly button ring is showing; and I have a tattoo on my back.

I give Adam a dirty look and he laughs at me. “I was hoping not to see you,” I grumble.

He smirks. “Come on, brat. Don’t be bitchy. Are you waiting on Amy?”

Before answering, I look out my window and see that his friends are laughing at something. I’m not sure what it is until I look over and see a girl on the ground. I open my door, pushing Adam out of the way, and start walking over to the girl, whose knee is all scraped up “Hey, are you alright? Do you need me to help you up?” I ask her.

Poor girl looks so embarrassed and I feel bad for her. She looks like a new student, and this isn’t a good way to start out your first day of school. She looks up at me. “No, thanks. I’m used to this happening,” she says. It makes me laugh, which makes me feel bad. She smiles and gets to her feet.

“By the way, I’m Maggie,” I say.

She looks at me again, then looks behind me at my brother and his friends. Her face turns bright red before she turns back to me. “It’s nice to meet you Maggie. I’m Heather,” she says.

I smile at her. “Is this your first day?” She doesn’t answer, and she’s looking behind me. I follow her line of vision and see that she is looking at Adam, who’s also looking at her… ‘Huh’. Oh, my god. I don’t think so, Adam. Leave this girl alone. Looking back at her I say. “That’s my brother, Adam, and his jackass friends. Pay no attention to them.”

She is a pretty girl with long brown hair pulled back into a ponytail, blue eyes, skinny, wearing a blue dress with blue high heels. Heather finally looks back at me. “Yeah, this is my first day. My family and I just moved here a few days ago.”

I smile at her. It’s pretty nice having new faces around. “Cool. This town is one of the best, and people are really nice,” I told her. She had turned toward Adam again. Wow, I think this girl has it bad. Maybe I should say something to her about what my brother is like.

She looks at me again. “Yeah, so far all the people that we’ve met are nice, but my brother and I didn’t want to move here.”

Okay, I’m not sure what to say to that. “Maybe, one day, you and your brother will be happy you came here. You never know.” I really should take her over to Adam so she doesn’t hurt herself when her eyes pop out of her head.

Just then, someone calls my name. I turn around and see my best friend, Amy. We have known each other since we were in diapers. Amy is shorter than me, skinny, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is wearing a dark blue mini-skirt, red tank top, and red high heels. “Hey, girl. About time you got here. I’ve been waiting forever.”

She just smiles at me. “Well, you know…got busy with the boyfriend.” That shocks me because Amy is a shy person, she never says stuff like that around other people.

“Really, Amy, I didn’t need that info. By the way this is Heather. She’s new here. Heather, this is Amy,” I say.

They look at each other and smile. “It’s really nice to meet you, Heather.”

  “Same here,” Heather says.

Amy and I share a look because Heather is staring at Adam again. I roll my eyes. We hear someone calling Heather’s name, but she doesn’t even hear them. The guy gets closer to us. I can feel my mouth hanging open and I might even be drooling. I mean holy hell this guy is seriously H.O.T!!! I look over at Amy and she looks the same ‘yeah she’s drooling’. He’s gorgeous…I mean like GQ model gorgeous. He looks to be the same height as Adam, and is built like a football player. He has messy brown hair that looks like he just dragged his fingers through it, and he has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. He also has some really nice tattoos, from what I can see. Hmm, I wonder if he has more? He is wearing dark worn jeans that hug him in all the right places, and a blue t-shirt that shows off his chest. Damn, this boy has a hot body.

I look at Heather again, who’s still staring at Adam ‘oh geez, has she never seen a hot guy before’. “Heather, some guy is calling your name,” I say, touching her arm.

She finally looks at him. “Oh, hey, Jase. Sorry about that. I didn’t hear you. This is Maggie and Amy. I just met them,” she says, pointing at us. “This is my brother, Jase.”

Amy and I both say, “It’s nice to meet you, Jase.” We can tell that he’s checking us out. Why is it that all guys eyes always land right on our boobs?

Jase looks back at Heather. “Sis, we need to head into the office. Let’s go,” he says. Wow, that’s rude. He didn't say anything to Amy or I. Whatever ‘jerk’. He does have a sexy voice, though.

Adam calls out to me, “Maggie, get your butt over here! I need to talk to you…NOW!” Damn, my brothers are overprotective and it drives me crazy.

Amy laughs at me. “Aww, Mags. Looks like your overprotective brother doesn’t like this.” I give her my best “fuck you” face.

“Thanks a lot for the help, Amy. It was nice meeting both of you. Heather, maybe we can meet up at lunch or something,” I say. Adam yells at me again, and I give him the finger. The three around me laugh, and it looks like Adam is about to come drag my ass away. Really, what is his problem?

“Sure, I’d like to meet up for lunch,” Heather says. I start walking away from them towards the school, ignoring Adam.

Amy follows. “He’s going to kick your ass for not going over there, Mags.” She looks over her shoulder. “Oh fuck. He looks really pissed and he’s coming this way. By the way, Jase is checking you out,” Amy tells me, smiling. I look back and see that Jase is staring at me while talking to his sister. I glance at Adam, too. He looks like he is ready to blow his shit.

“Maggie Grace Summers, get your ass over here!” Adam yells.

Wow, really? “Fuck off, Adam. You’re not Dad so stop acting like it,” I yell back. I’m so mad at the way he is acting right now.

I stop and wait for him to catch up. “Damn it, Mags. I told you that we needed to talk and you just walk off!” Adam says.

I look at him like he is crazy. “NO, Adam! You feel the need to be an ass because I was standing with a guy that you don’t know! I really need you to stop being so damn overprotective. I can take care of myself!” I yell.

Adam just stares at me for a second. “Maggie, I’m sorry, but I’ll always protect you from anything and anyone. I’m sorry for how I acted. That wasn’t cool. I’ll try not to be an ass. I’ll even go say hi.” I look at him, wondering if he'll be nice or a jerk. I’m hoping the former, but you never know with him.

“Please be nice. They just moved here and don’t know anybody.” He looks at them, then back to me. “Alright, sis. I swear I’ll be nice and make friends.” He gives me a big hug. “I love you, baby girl. Remember that.” Adam can be the sweetest brother sometimes

“I love you, too, bro…thank you.” I smile at him.

Amy and I start walking towards the school again, while Adam and his buddies walk over to Jase and Heather. I look back to make sure Adam is playing nice and, sure enough, he is. Maybe they will become friends; looks like they are laughing and joking around. The bell rings and we all hurry into the school. I take my seat next to Jenny, like usual. “Have you seen the new guy yet, Maggie? He is seriously hot.”

I laugh and nod my head. “Yeah, I met him and his sister before class.” I can tell that Jenny isn’t listening. I look at her and her mouth is hanging open and she is staring at the front of the room. I look and see that Jase is in class with us.

“Damn, hottie at ten o’clock,” Jenny whispers.

I roll my eyes at her. “Close your mouth, Jenny. You’re drooling.” She gives me a nasty look, which makes me laugh hard. Everyone turns to look at us. Jenny hides her face in her hands, making me laugh more. “Alright, Jenny, I’m sorry.”

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Jase taking a seat in front of us, next to Clay. They both turn around. “So what’s so funny, girls?” Clay asks.

I open my mouth to tell him when she kicks me under the table. “Ouch! What was that for?” I glare at her.

“Don’t say anything,” Jenny says, glaring right back.

Jase and Clay laugh, turning back around. Clay turns back to Jenny. “Nice, Jenny. Now he knows you were drooling all over your papers,” Clay says. I laugh, and Jenny curses him under her breath.

“Thanks, Clay. I get kicked for just opening my mouth, and you say it and only get cursed at.” He looks back at me and winks.

We all stop talking when Mr. Jones walks into the room. “Good morning, class.” A few hours later we head off to lunch, just when we step in. I see Josh heading our way, “oh great! Here we go…” Amy whispers to me. He is also one of Adam friends, I have no clue why. Josh is always trying to get me to go on a date with, I tell him no every single time. Last year he left me alone after my big brother Mark kicked his ass a few times. I guess he thinks since Mark is gone he can start his shit again, really he is in for a rude awaken, cause there is no way I am putting up with his bullshit!

“Maggie, damn girl you look smoking hot”

I roll my eyes at him, ‘he can be so cheesy sometimes’. I start to walk around him, when he smacks my ass… Ouch that hurt!

“What. The. Hell. Josh...” I growl out, he just smirks at me. I can see it in his eyes that he’s up to something so I try walking away but he grabs my arm, Amy steps in the middle of us. Josh pushes her and picks me up, which really pisses me off. He seriously just pushed my best friend! No one is allowed to touch her. Just then I hear running and Adam roaring “Josh what the fuck are you doing”. He puts me down the minute he hears how pissed Adam is. Josh starts to turn around, not before I slap him across the face. “Don’t ever do that again… I told you to leave me alone Josh” me and the girls walk away to our table.

“Adam is gonna beat his ass…. And did you see Jase’s face? He was pissed”

I nod, yeah I seen his face, he looked like he was ready to kill josh...

  Chapter 2 (Jase)

My nightmares have finally come true. We’ve moved to a hick town, but that’s not even the worst of it. My parents say we are staying here and that Dad is going to buy a ranch. Great, just what I’ve always wanted. Heather and I both bitched about moving away from New York and all of our friends. Now I have to start my senior year in a new school. I played football in my old school, and Dad says that Texas is huge on football, but in this little town? I guess I’ll find out. Heather and April come into my room and sit down. “What’s up, girls? Got something to say?” I ask.

They both look at me like I’m crazy. “No, this just sucks. I want to be back in New York, not here in ‘butt-fuck’ nowhere. It’s boring as hell,” Heather says, No shit! I give her the duh look.

All we have seen since we got here is old people and the four walls of our house. I wonder what all the young kids are doing. We haven’t even seen any of them, but I guess Heather and I would have to leave the house for that. There’s not much here except one burger joint, a movie theatre, and a place called Nana's which, I’m guessing, is where we get food. There’s a few other stores and a bar, but I’m too young to get into it.

April looks at me. “I don’t know what your problem is. I like it here so far. It’s pretty and the people I’ve seen are really nice. I met this one girl and her brother. They talked to us for a while. She’s so beautiful, and her brother is so hot. They said their names are Maggie and Adam Summers. Their parents own a huge ranch. If you two would have come with us, you could have met them, too.” Now it’s my turn to look at her like she’s crazy. I can't believe she likes it here, wait a minute… when did she meet up with this Maggie and Adam? April should not be talking to people. My little sister is way too trusting for her own good.

“April, really, what do you see in this boring ass town? New York was better,” Heather says. I agree.

“Where did you meet up with these people, April?” I ask with a scowl.

She looks at me for a second. “We saw them at Sam’s, the burger joint. They were there with a lot of other teens, but they stayed behind when their friends left. After a while, we were getting ready to leave when they came over and started talking to us. Maggie told us all about the town and said that they were happy to see some new faces,” April said.

Whatever. I kick my sisters out of my room so I can get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day at a new school, but maybe I will meet some hot chicks.
That’s always bonus!

  ****

My alarm goes off a seven in the morning. Fuck, I hate this time of day. I lay here for a while, just thinking about how much I don’t want to be here. After about a half-hour, I drag myself out of bed because I knew that Mom will come in soon to see if I’m awake. I find some clothes and jump into the shower. When I’m showered and ready, I go to check on Heather to see if she’s up yet. I’ll be damned. She’s already showered and dressed. She’s never ready this early. “Hey, sis. You feeling alright? I’ve never seen you ready this early before. I’m shocked!” I say with a smirk.

She throws her pillow at me, I easily dodge it. “Go to hell, Jase. I’m only up and ready because April seems to think that we should get to school early.”

Yeah, I don’t think so. I’m not getting there until I have to. “I don’t care what she thinks. I’ll be there before the bell,” I say. Heather just smiles at me. I know she’s thinking the same thing. April’s just starting high school so all three of us would be in the same school this year. “So, big bro. Ready for some breakfast?” Heather asks. I want to say no but know that, sooner or later, Mom will be up here kicking my ass down the stairs and out the door without anything to eat so I follow Heather down.

Mom, Dad, and April are all eating when we come in. They look up as if we grew extra heads overnight. “What? You didn’t think we would be up and ready for this shitty first day of school?” I ask.

Dad points his finger at me in warning. “Watch what you say, Jase. Why can’t you two be a little happier? Who knows? Maybe you’ll meet some hot girls and guys. You two might even enjoy going to this school.” I smirk at him. Yeah, he knows I’ll be looking.

Mom slaps his arm playfully. “I hope all three of you have a good day and make new friends…maybe even try out for the football and track teams,” Mom says. Yeah, we’ll see. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to try out yet. Who knows? Maybe I’ll hate everyone here.

Heather and I finish eating our cereal. “We better get going or we’ll be late,” I said. April jumps up from her chair, knocking it over, and was out the door before I even finish my sentence. Heather and I just stare at the door, then we all start laughing. Wow, okay.
