Groaning, she stood up, noticing that he was still painfully erect. Biting her lip and staring she felt guilty for leaving him like that. “I’m so sorry Bodhe.”
Looking down he just closed his eyes and smiled. “Do not ever be sorry for that, I will savor the taste of you all day. Furthermore, the benefit of having your partner is that you feel their pleasure too. So there is absolutely nothing to be sorry for. I shared that with you, I just refused to spill my seed onto you Isabel. When it’s time, you will be screaming for me to fill you with it. Which of course I shall oblige,” he opened his eyes and winked at her.
Oh my God, was he serious? She stood there, mouth gaping, eyes ravaging the bounty before her. There were so many things that she wanted to do to him right now. I wonder what that would taste like? She licked her lips and grinned wickedly gazing again at the enormously thick flesh between his legs.
An image of Morkain flashed through her mind and she suddenly felt guilty. Which one was she cheating on with the other? They were both such beautiful creatures.
Shaking the thoughts from her head she changed the subject reluctantly. “Bodhe, what’s a Sensati and does this present require that I get dressed?
He looked up at her and smiled, white teeth flashing brilliantly. “A Sensati can channel thoughts from people. And as far as the clothes, I suppose that you don’t have to, but there is the odd chance that one or more of the people of Loveryn will be where I’m going to take you. So that is up to you lovely.” He laughed.
“Oh dear, okay then, I shall step into this flimsy thing again and torture you for making me put it back on!”
Mental note, ask Amele more about the Sensati thing.
“I think you will not wish to torture me when you see this, but I shall accept any retribution you seek for me requiring that you not show that gorgeous body to the people of Loveryn,” he winked at her and threw his own clothes hastily on.
Kissing her softly and tasting the sweetness of her mouth once more he rose into the sky and set her down again a few moments later. She looked around and saw that they were in a quiet valley, desolate of any living creatures yet teeming with life. Green grass and wildflowers surrounded a stream that bubbled from an enormous waterfall nearby.
“Bodhe, it’s…it’s beautiful.” She stammered looking around. Her eyes feasted on the simple grandeur of this place and her body was tingling with…was that excitement? No, there was something about this valley, a magic different from Loveryn’s was here.
Bodhe took in a deep breath, “Are you ready?” He gazed at her.
“For what Bodhe?”
“For your present, of course.” He grinned.
She looked around the canyon not knowing what present could come from here but nodded anyway. Holding her breath she saw him take out a tiny golden flute and blow on it softly, fingers gently pressing to the small holes. No sound came out that she could hear but just when she was about to mention that his flute was damaged a great white horse came pounding through the waterfall. She gasped at its strength and speed and grabbed his hand.
“Do not be afraid Isabel, this is the Mother of the Larien. It is an age old tradition in these lands and one that you should have taken part in a long time ago. She comes to greet you.”
He smiled as the great horse neared them and held out his hand. She came up to him and he bowed to her. Isabel looked into the blue eyes of the Larien and bowed the only way she knew how, the blood rushing to her cheeks at her clumsy attempt.
Bodhe laughed and the great being reared up a bit as if she were doing the same. Giving him a sideways glance, he just chuckled further. The Larien bowed her head in return and then walked around her, smelling her hair and skin. It tickled to feel its breath and mouth nuzzling about and she couldn’t help but to laugh and squirm a bit.
Just as quickly as she had come she whinnied and took off towards the waterfall. Isabel looked over to Bodhe and he just looked at her smiling and put a finger to his lips. He pulled her close, “She likes you.” He whispered.
Before she could even respond a thundering tremor was felt beneath her feet and she saw a whole pack of the Larien rushing towards her. She squeezed him tightly and was surprised when he pushed her forward a bit. “It’s okay Isabel, they will not hurt you. Go to them and stay still.”
She looked over her shoulder unsure and he just nodded to her and smiled saying go ahead with his eyes. She began timidly walking to the horde of beasts coming her way. All of them were large and majestic and it really didn’t give them justice to be compared with horses even though the similarities were striking. These were the beings that were grazing the first night she was here. How beautiful they are.
Bodhe had told her a little bit about these strange creatures but not nearly as much as she wished to know right now as they came pounding towards her. She stopped in the center of the field and looked back once more at Bodhe who was standing there against a tree with one leg crossed over the other and his arms crossed over his broad chest. His smile remained so she turned again to face the onslaught. Just as she thought she would be stampeded to the earth the creatures circled around her and came to an abrupt stop, all of them looking to the one he called Mother. A small cry from her and the first Larien stepped forward, doing as Mother had done to Isabel, nudging and smelling. That one was a fiery red in color its skin was almost like scales. She was not sure that she wanted to see what that one transformed to. The next came forward, repeated the procedure and stepped back. This happened repeatedly until finally, a smaller one came from the back of the circle. She was beautiful; white feathers except for a single dark patch that formed a diamond on her brow. She shimmered gold and white and Isabel felt nearly giddy as she came closer to her. As soon as the Larien touched her she felt a current surge through her and the Larien bowed her head to her. All the other Larien ran off except Mother who came closer. They were a reflection of each other. Sleek white feathered beauties and the only true difference was the black mark on the younger one’s brow. Isabel reached her hand out and the small Larien put her head into it. The current of energy was pleasant and warm. It felt safe. The breeze picked up behind her and Bodhe whispered in her ear.
“You have been chosen Isabel. Meet Mother’s daughter, this is Toressa. You have a fine companion here for the rest of your days.” He beamed at her and laughed while her mouth stood open.
“What do you mean she has chosen me Bodhe? You mean this is my gift?” She stood spellbound.
“That she is. This particular Larien will never let another rider upon her back and she will always come to only you when you call. They have gifted us with their presence since the beginning of time as we know it and all Sidhe get chosen by one when they are around 100 years old. Which is only about 10 in human years I suppose.” He mused. “She is mother’s youngest and it is a great honor for you to be the one she has felt. Do you feel the connection with her?”
“The current? Yes, I feel that. She’s so beautiful and warm.” Tears pricked at her eyes. “I cannot believe this, thank you!” She grabbed Bodhe and jumped into his arms kissing him everywhere on the face. To Mother she turned and bowed again which was returned and to Toressa she touched and whispered, “We will have great adventures together, you and I,” and gave her a light kiss. The Larien responded by nudging her softly.
“Do you wish to know what she transforms into?” A mischievous expression on his face.
“Oh yes, please tell me.”
“He spoke in his native tongue and the Larien made a small sound before gliding into the sky on great expanded wings. Isabel gasped. “Oh it cannot be Bodhe, it cannot. She is like a dream come true! Really, she will let me ride her?”
He laughed joyously, “Yes Isabel, she is yours until the end of time.”
She jumped up and down like a child and watched Toressa fly around in smooth circles, her stomach in knots. “What if I fall off?” She stammered.
“Impossible. The bond between the Larien and their
chosen is too strong. A rider has never fallen from one that has chosen them. Now if you try to mount one that is not yours, that can be another tragedy altogether.” He said grinning.
She looked sideways at him. “Indeed, that I shall remember. But it would’ve been good information before since I nearly could not stop the urge to do so when I saw the first one in Loveryn.”
He just laughed at her. Toressa came back down and landed gracefully in front of Isabel, just barely audible as she hit the ground.
She nudged her ribs and lowered her frame to the ground. “I do believe that she would like you to climb on Isabel.”
She looked at the Larien then back at Bodhe with fluttering in her stomach. “Now? But what if I fall Bodhe,” but even as she said the words she inched closer to the beautiful being.
“You shall not, I give you my word.”
She grazed her hand over the soft feathers on her neck and Toressa nudged her softly. She couldn’t believe she was actually going to get to ride her. Slowly she climbed on her back and Toressa rose up.
“Do you see the place on her back that is raised in front of you?”
“These here?” She touched the risen bones gently.
“Yes, those are for you to hold until you are comfortable holding on with your legs alone. When you are able to fly as we do, you shall not need those any longer.”
She smiled down to him, a tear threatening to fall from her eye. He bowed to them both and she felt Toressa stir beneath her.
She whispered soothing words to her Larien and held to the slight raises on her back as she was instructed. Suddenly her magnificent wings were spread again and they were in the air circling around the canyon with Isabel laughing with glee.
Bodhe watched her from the ground thinking what a beautiful pair they made. Her dark hair flowing against the white feathers, she looked like an Angel. More so, she looked like a true Princess of Loveryn.
Sighing as she climbed down after her flight on the Larien she positively beamed at him. “This is the best present ever Bodhe! She is incredible!” She patted her softly and Torresa ran off to the edge of the canyon.
“Better than my earlier gift?” He laughed as she turned bright red.
“Well, perhaps the second best,” she admitted shyly.
“Get used to it Princess, you will be spoiled here in Loveryn on a daily basis with gifts from my hands…and my mouth.”
Heat sparked in her flesh again and she stared at him. For the first time she noticed her own skin glowing too.
“What the?”
“It’s common to glow with your partner Isabel. Especially the first few hundred years, we shall be like a fireball when together.”
She looked at him sideways, still registering his words. “That’s the second time you have said that word, ‘partner’. Is that like a mate?”
The darkness visibly shadowed his face. “So Morkain has spoken to you about mates?” He scoffed, struggling to keep his anger subdued. “Partners for the Sidhe royalty are different from any other species Isabel, we are different even in our own race. We only have one that we are to spend the end of time with.”
She looked at him strangely. “But that’s exactly what he said about the Elves. God, how confusing this all is! So royalty never has another partner?” Please don’t lie to me. Please.
“Isabel, there are exceptions to every rule of course, but no, most of the Sidhe royalty does not bed another until their partner is found.”
Interesting. He avoided a lie. He didn’t say one way or another. Bodhe drew nearer to her and held her face in his hands, careful not to start yelling obscenities about the Elf.
“You can tell your true partner in the Sidhe realm by the way that they glow with you. Watch, I will demonstrate.” He grinned, shaking off the thought of Morkain.
When his lips came down on hers and began a long, slow lingering kiss she began to tremble, subtle lightning bolts everywhere that he touched. She moaned softly and began the heated exploration of his body. Chiseled muscles were rippling beneath her touch and as she felt his hands gliding down her stomach to touch the wetness between her legs again. She screamed out, her entire being aching for him. He stopped his teeth from nipping at her lips abruptly even though she whimpered in protest.
“Open your eyes Isabel.” He stepped back from her and let her examine herself.
“Holy shit, no way!” Her skin was golden and light was filtering from her very pores. Still trembling with the heat of his touch and wanting him closer she stepped forward, but he just shook his head.
“I want you to see for yourself. It’s the only way to prove this to you.”
“But how do I know this doesn’t happen to all Sidhe when they get…worked up.” She asked, eyes flashing between his glowing skin and hers.
“Worked up?” He chuckled. “That was just playing. For me to get you worked up, I should need a bit more time between those lovely thighs.”
She shuddered as she watched him lick his lips. “You still didn’t answer my question Bodhe. How do I know this doesn’t always happen between the Sidhe?”
“You could ask Amele. She has not found her partner yet but I am certain that vixen of a warrior has had some fun with a few immortals and perhaps some mortals too at that.” He grinned “Ask her what it’s like. That would not be breaking any rules that I can think of.”
She nodded. “I’ll do that. So have you been with…many women?”
Hesitantly he replied. “Do you really wish me to recant what I have done in the last 3,000 years to you Princess? I do not think you will find it as appealing as you wish it to be.”
She looked at him for a moment and then decided better of it. No, she did not want to think of him with another woman. Ever. She would have to kill them both.
“Hmmm, warrior in me indeed.” laughter bubbled out of her in a light wave.
He raised his brows and looked at her curiously.
“Oh nothing, I just had an unusual thought.” She walked over to him and grazed her palm down the flesh of his face, watching as his eyes closed and a smile traced his full inviting lips as she did so. The sun was setting in the sky turning the world into a beautiful gold and pink paradise and she sighed, knowing that she had to leave.
“I don’t really wish this but I have to go.” She kissed him gently and recanted the words that would send her home, barely able to hear the ones he said in his language as the darkness came. No way, she couldn’t have heard that, Right?
Chapter 8
“Good Gods girl, I thought you were going to rattle the windows from the panes last night! Prince Bodhe made up for his first failed attempt to please you I take it?” She laughed handing her coffee. “Dish it. Now.” She growled.
Rubbing her eyes awake she didn’t even know where to begin. “Well, I know you didn’t do the deed or you would not have come back here so c’mon Bel, tell me what was making the windows rattle last night?”
She sipped the coffee slowly, certain that there was a ridiculous grin on her face. How could there not be after last night?
“Oh yeah, it’s bad, I can see it all over your face. So is the competition over then? Eeek! Isabel! Look!” She threw the coffee mugs onto the table, the brown liquid splashing everywhere and practically flew her into the bathroom.
“Amele! What are you…oh my God!” She looked into the mirror and stared. Well, if there was any doubt before there was certainly none now. Running her fingers over the small pointed tips of her ears, she sucked in a breath. They were nothing like Amele’s yet, more like she imagined a baby Sidhe looked. Small and delicate points, but definitely they were there.
Amele looked at her wide eyed. “The turning is happening much faster than it’s supposed to. You should have days yet before the ears came. Just how heavy did it get with the Prince and how long did you feel like you were there?”
“I don’t know Amele, I spent the whole day there. And heavy isn’t even close to what he did to me. Try explos
ions of a magnitude that would tear a hole in the ozone layer. Oh, I also met my Larien and she’s absolutely stunning! Now, can I please finish my coffee and maybe put a robe on?”
She just laughed at her and ushered her back to the bedroom. After Isabel had told her the tale and thoughtfully wrote it down in her journal she remembered the things she wanted to ask her.
“Amele, have you ever slept with any other Sidhe?”
Shock registered all over her face. “Isabel, um, remember the conversation we had with the whole age thing? A couple thousand years old remember?” She laughed, “Yes, I have slept with a few Sidhe. I’ve also bedded a few Dragons, quite a few actually, in their male lessor forms of course, a few demons the right kind are an absolute blast, definitely a few scrumptious mortals back in the day and let me see, yes, even an incredibly endowed Elf. Come to think of it there is a very short list of immortals that I haven’t slept with. The Mers don’t do much for me but the God of the water Elementals has been my fantasy since I was a little girl. I’ve only seen him in form once but you can’t even imagine the appeal! Though, could it ever happen?” She sighed, “Probably not. Since he would likely crush me for summoning him. Although, I do think the sex would be well worth the fight. Blue God that wears nothing but a few…”
“Amele! The Elf, you said you slept with one? And you weren’t his mate?”
She wrinkled her nose. “Well of course not! He was awfully good in bed, and the ground, and a few other choice places but his mate? Not hardly. Why do you ask?”
“Because Morkain lied to me. He said that Elves have only one mate.” She huffed and began to pace.
“Ok, I’ll deal with him later, tell me about the Sidhe lovers. Did you glow with them?” She eyed her carefully.
“Oh no way! Bel are you for real? We all radiate light of course as you have seen but the only ones that glow bright together are partners! Were you and the prince making your own little shooting star?”
