The ceremony was lovely the kiss lasted a rather long time Sophie was aware of a lot of sniffing behind her, when they turned the first thing she noticed was her parents were holding hands, after everyone had congratulated them and the champagne was flowing they walked up to the two of them “Sophie we have some news for you” she looked from one to the other and didn't flinch “Saul is transferring all his clients to an office in London and he has decided to live here permanently. With me” Sophie jumped up and down with glee and wrapped an arm around each of them “mum dad its fantastic I knew you still had feelings for each other it was obvious but this is fantastic news” Saul jumped when Sophie called him dad it was the first time she had said it he was thrilled and kissed her cheek warmly. The rest of the day passed blissfully Marcus and Sophie were dancing together to their song Michael Buble' “home” the song brought back memories of their first days together, he held her in his arms and moved her around the floor gracefully hands gently caressing her waist, the guests were depleting it was time for the couple to make their escape, they were honeymooning in France at Diane’s villa although it wasn't warm this time of year Sophie loved the time they had there so much she had insisted on it. They would spend tonight in the honeymoon suite of a hotel near the airport. They said their goodbyes Sophie was keeping her dress on the train was detachable so now it looked just like an evening gown, Samuel was waiting in the Cayenne which had been vandalised and decorated by Duncan and Henry. It was kisses all round Barbee and Don gushing over them they were staying tonight and heading back to Cheshire in the morning, her parents kissed her last “enjoy France honey the villa will be transformed when you leave so make the most of its quaintness!” Duncan was going out with Louisa in January for 3 months Diane wanted an extension with 2 extra bedrooms and bathrooms so the family could all go together for holidays, it was a lovely idea and Sophie imagined many fun times ahead with her parents and an extra bedroom could come in handy.
The drive was long and Sophie slept through it she was exhausted, Marcus thought she had looked pale today, now the wedding was over she would relax again, she was now dream free scar free more or less and the most beautiful bride he had ever seen. They arrived at the hotel a couple of hours later Sophie was half asleep when they checked in, their suitcases sent on to the airport their overnight bag taken to the honeymoon suite. When they stepped out of the elevator Marcus picked Sophie up “Welcome to our room Mrs Taylor” Sophie grinned at him that sounded strange but nice, the room was beautiful, flowers and champagne awaited them along with an enormous leather bed with fur throws a fireplace had been lit for them and there was a sunken bath in the floor. Marcus poured them a glass of fizz and they had a toast to their future and clinked glasses, Marcus's eyes were burning with his desire, it had been sizzling away all day and he wanted her badly, he took the glass of untouched champagne from her hand and drew her towards him, he was about to kiss her when she put her finger on his lips to halt him “Marcus I have a Christmas gift for you,” he looked at her “Baby you gave me you that is all I want nothing more” she looked up at him took both his hands and placed them on her tummy “ He looked down at her puzzled “my darling husband my gift to you will be yours to hold in a few months, 8 we think” Marcus stared down at his hands and stroked them over her in wonder “ a baby? You mean you are pregnant?” “yes Marcus we are pregnant Sally did a test this morning I have been feeling off all week and because of the kidnap I didn't have my new pills so we have been unprotected for months, I can't believe it either” Marcus was awe struck “pregnant why Mrs Taylor that is the best and most amazing gift you could ever have given me” he swung her round in his arms and squealed like a child then stopped suddenly and poured all that excitement in to one long and lustful kiss that lasted until morning.
Sophie smiled at her sleeping husband he had both hands wrapped round her holding her tummy as if holding the child inside at the same time, and there was that word again Bliss wedded bliss that would turn into married bliss and the one thing she never thought she would feel maternal bliss. She closed her eyes and whispered to him “thank you my Samaritan for bliss and for my happily ever after.”xx
