Redemption (Men of Honor Book 2) Page 10

by Michelle Horst

When he thrusts his tongue inside of me, I almost go flying. He tightens his grip on my breast, and pins me back to the floor.

Goose bumps explode over every inch of my body and my toes dig into the floor.

He slips a finger inside of me as he starts to suck on my clit. Pure exhilaration dances through my body and I swear I see stars as a cry escapes from between my clenched teeth.

Eli kisses his way back up my body as I try to catch my breath. He takes hold of my hands and pulls them away from my face.

“Was that what an orgasm feels like?” I ask out of breath, just before he presses a kiss to my lips. I’ve tried before but nothing I did felt that good.

“Not yet,” he whispers as he moves a hand down between us. He positions himself at my entrance and my whole body quivers from the contact. Intensely, his eyes meet mine and in this moment I see the world in his eyes. I see my future and all the possibilities our life together will have.

“You’re perfect, Sunshine. So fucking perfect.”

His words break me and put me back together all at once.

He starts to push forward and just as I feel a pinching sensation he stops. His eyes are locked on my face focusing on every expression I make as he takes my virginity.

He pushes in another inch and the pinching returns, more intense this time.

Again he stills and the muscles in his arms tense as he struggles to hold back.

  “Just do it,” I whisper.

He shakes his head unable to speak right now and it tells me just how much self-control it’s taking for him to go slow.

He pushes in deeper, much deeper than before and a sharp pain shoots through me. I suck in a harsh breath that makes him lower his forehead against mine.

“I’m sorry, babe. Fuck, I wish it didn’t have to hurt.”

“I’m okay, Eli. Really. It doesn’t hurt that much,” I say to comfort him.

He kisses me as he pushes all the way inside me. A groan vibrates against my lips. His whole body tenses above me and he keeps still again, but this time I can see that it’s because he’s relishing in the moment.

Then it hits me. Eli just took my virginity. He’s inside of me.

Eli Jackson is making love to me right this moment.

  Dreams do come true.

His muscles flex over his chest as he braces an arm on either side of my head. He pulls out a little, before pushing back in. I take a sharp breath, and Eli’s lips capture mine. He kisses me senseless and he starts to move.

I’m overwhelmed that this man is so affected by me. I never knew he felt this way.

The next time he pulls out of me, I tilt my hips upward as he starts to push back in. He growls in response, and his mouth starts to trail hot kisses over me as if he’s trying to memorize the taste of my skin.

His movements grow faster, and soon he’s thrusting hard inside of me, and it makes my legs turn to jell-o. A pressure starts to build in my abdomen.

I wrap my legs around him and grab hold of his hips. It makes his rhythm falter for a second. He closes his eyes as he breathes my name.

  “Quinn.”

I’ve never seen anything more beautiful in my life. My whole heart expands in this moment.

He starts to move again, and every muscle in my body tightens as if it’s waiting for something huge to happen.

He thrusts forward again, and this time it’s so hard that he rocks my whole body. I see the same stars from earlier but this time it’s joined by an explosion that ignites under every inch of my skin.

My world detonates into bursts of overwhelming emotions and delicious ripples. My mouth opens on a silent scream.

He thrusts harder and all those emotions and ripples grow wings, and they make me soar.

He groans deeply as his body jerks against mine and I force my eyes open. I meet his steel gray ones just as he fills me, and it draws a tear from my eye.

This is so much more than I have ever hoped for.

  It’s perfect.

  Eli

I stare at her sleeping face, and the love in my heart swells until it swallows me whole, leaving me at her mercy.

So much happened today that I’m struggling to wrap my head around it all. I had no idea she was a virgin. I never even considered the possibility.

Amazement hits me again, knowing that I’m the only man she’s been with. I’m the only one who will get to see her naked, to touch her silky skin, to hear her moan as she orgasms.

  I’m a lucky bastard.

I pull her into my arms and bury my face in her hair. I take a deep breath, filling my lungs with her scent as I wrap my body around hers.

She turns into me, and her warm breaths rush over my chest. I can’t bring myself to fall asleep. I don’t want to miss a second of feeling her body against mine.

When she wakes up, she pulls her arms free from where they were locked between us. She stretches before she wraps her arms around my neck.

She presses a sleepy kiss to my chin and whispers, “Morning.”

I stand up and pull her up alongside me. Holding her hand, I walk upstairs and into my room. I walk into the bathroom and turn on the faucets in the shower. I’ve been wanting to do this for quite some time.

I pull her in with me and she looks up at me with a smile and shining eyes.

We wash each other and it’s impossible to hide my erection. Her eyes keep darting down to my cock and I force myself not to smile because she’s being adorably shy.

“Don’t you need to…” she lets the rest of the sentence trail away.

“What?” I ask, tilting my head to try and catch her eyes.

“You know … sex.” With one finger she points at my cock and I can’t keep the smile back anymore.

“You have no idea how fucking cute you are, Quinn Drake.”

“Did I say something wrong?” she asks, scowling up at me.

“Nothing.” I shake my head. “You’re perfect. Your innocence is addictive.”

“Really? I always thought men wanted experienced women.”

I shake my head. “Being experienced would mean that someone touched you. I love knowing that it’s only been me.” I step closer to her and press a soft kiss to her lips. “It will only be me.”

She winks at me. “I like this caveman side of you.”

Dad got a solid lead on Steve. I watch Quinn as she trains and I just can’t bring myself to tell her.

Things have been so good lately. No matter what I do, I know things are going to change. If Dad and I go deal with Steve, then Quinn might not forgive me. If I let her go ahead with this insane plan, she might get hurt or worse, and I can’t risk that.

“Are you listening to me?” she asks, placing her hands on her hips.

“Sorry, babe, I got lost in watching you.”

She rolls her eyes. “Don’t go using my irresistible body as an excuse.”

I get up and walk to her. “Can you blame me?”

“Anyway, I was saying that my cousin called. She’s coming to visit. She can stay at my Dad’s place, but I was hoping she could crash here?”

“Which cousin?” I ask. She told me about a crazy cousin who eats her own hair. Right now I’m praying it’s not her.

“Finlay. The one who lives up north.”

  “That’s the sane one right?”

Quinn starts to laugh. “No one in my family is sane, but yeah, Robin’s the one who likes to eat hair.”

“In that case, Finlay is more than welcome to stay here,” I say with relief. “When is she coming?”

Quinn makes a cute face and then looks at her watch. “In about four hours.”

I place a kiss to her forehead before I start to walk away. “I’ve got some things to take care of. Will you need someone to take you?”

“No, you go take care of whatever you have to do. The bus stop is only a ten minute walk away. We’ll be fine.”

“Don’t get into any trouble while I’m gone,” I tease.

“Wouldn’t dream of it.”

I take one last look at her smiling face before I leave. As I get into my truck I dial Dad’s number.

“Morning,” he says as he answers.

“Hey, Dad. Quinn’s cousin is coming into town. She’s going to be busy today. I was wondering if you had time to help me take care of that problem.”

“Come over so we can discuss the plan.”

When I pull up in front of my parents’ house, Dad is waiting on the porch.

I type a quick message to Quinn before going in.

  I live you, my sunshine.

She responds within seconds and I stare long at the words.

  I live you, my shadow.

Dad shakes Sheriff Dean’s hand. “Thanks for coming. Normally, we’d deal with it on our own, but we’d rather have you there, so things don’t go wrong.’

“I’m glad you called. It’s about time we get him off the streets. Where has he been hiding?”

“That’s the problem,” I say. “He’s been hiding at Jerry’s place.”

“Dammit,” Dean snaps. “That man is trigger happy on a good day.”

“We were hoping you could arrest Jerry and let us deal with Steve,” Dad says.

“I can arrest him for harboring a fugitive. I can buy you some time, but you’ll have to be fast. You know how nosy the folks are in this town.”

“We’ll only need a few minutes,” I say.

“We’ll follow you. Park down the street so they don’t see your car,” Dad says.

As we drive over to Jerry’s place, Dad stares blindly in front of him.

  “Are you okay?” I ask.

He sits forward and pulls his gun from behind him. He checks it again and says, “I’m getting old, Eli.”

“Dad, you’ll be eighty and still kicking ass.”

  He only smirks.

We stop down the street and wait for Dean to join us. He’s on the radio.

When he joins us, I ask, “Did you call it in?”

“I just told Brayden and Connor to be on standby.”

“We’ll go around the back. You take the front. Steve will make a run for it.”

Keeping our eyes open, we quickly move in on the house. When we get there, Dean casually walks up to the front door, while we walk around the back. As we get to the backdoor, we hear a crashing noise of a chair falling over. The door is yanked open and I smile.

“Hey, fucker, remember me?” I slam a fist hard into his face and he staggers back.

We go in after him and I tackle him, before he can run to the front of the house.

“Fuck,” he shouts as I slam his face into the floor.

I grab a fistful of oily hair and yank his head back. “Fuck is an understatement,” I growl.

I haul him to his feet and bring my knee up, as I push his face down. I hear something crack and it fills me with savage satisfaction. Steve falls to the floor, holding his hands in front of his face, as blood gushes through his fingers.

“Eli, you want a beer?” Dad asks.

“Sure,” I say, holding out my hand as he tosses the bottle to me.

“They’re a bit hot,” Dad says as he twists the cap off one. He leans against the counter, beer in the one hand and gun in the other.

I crouch next to Steve, grab his jaw and shove the bottle inside his mouth, then I yank until I hear the crunch of his teeth on the cap. As I rip the bottle from his mouth, pieces of his teeth come with. Steve howls with pain and starts to cry.

“Fuck, I forgot. It’s a twist off cap.” I crouch down again and I have to suppress the urge to finish him off. “That’s for biting my girl.”

I stand up as Dean comes in. That’s all the time we’re going to get.

I drop the bottle of beer on Steve’s junk, and he folds in half.

“You should start practicing by shoving that bottle up your ass. You’re going to make some guy very happy in prison, Steve.”

“Thanks, Dean. We owe you one,” Dad says as Dean cuffs Steve.

“Anytime guys, you better get going.”

Dad first walks over to where Dean is hauling Steve up. He picks up the beer I used on Steve and starts to wipe it down.

“Always cover your tracks,” he growls as he walks by me.

We leave the house the same way we came in.

“We better fix up your hand before you go home,” Dad says as we get into the truck.

It’s only then I notice my busted knuckles. Shit, I won’t be able to hide that from Quinn.

  Quinn

I smile when Finlay gets off the bus. Her guitar hangs over her right shoulder, just the way I remember her.

“Finlay,” I call as I walk closer.

“I made it,” she laughs, but I can see that she’s tired from the long ride down. I should’ve taken Eli up on that offer for a ride. I hug her tightly, glad to have her visiting. It’s been too long.

She switches a heavy bag to her left hand, and I reach for it.

“Let me take that. I’m just going to make a call to get us a ride.”

When I dial Eli’s number, it goes straight to voicemail. I shrug and dial Ethan’s number.

“Hello,” he answers, sounding out of breath. I hope I’m not interrupting something.

  “Hey, Ethan. Are you busy?”

“No, I just finished a class at the gym. I’m heading to my truck. Why? You need something?”

“Yeah, we need a ride. My cousin came to visit. Would you mind picking us up at the bus stop?”

“Sure, no problem. Give me five minutes and I’ll be there.”

I shove my phone back into my pocket and smile at Finlay. “How are you? It feels like I haven’t seen you in years.”

“That’s because it’s been years,” she laughs. “I’m good. I just needed some time away from home. How are you? How’s your dad?”

“He’s good. Still driving trucks. I don’t think he’ll ever retire. Listen,” I say, tucking some hair behind my ear. “I’m staying with Eli. Will you be okay crashing at his place or do you want to sleep at Dad’s house?”

“I don’t care as long as I get a bed really soon.”

“Great, you’re going to love Eli.”

She looks around her and asks, “He’s your friend right?”

  I smile and say, “Well…”

  “Oh, friends with benefits?”

I laugh out loud. “No, I guess he’s my boyfriend. We haven’t had time to talk about it yet.”

Ethan pulls up next to us and gets out of the truck. He’s still wearing his gym clothes.

“Thanks, Ethan,” I say as he reaches us. “This is my cousin, Finlay.” I point to Ethan. “Ethan is Eli’s brother.”

They stare at each other before Ethan reaches his hand out to her. “Nice to meet you.”

  She shakes his hand. “Same.”

Ethan takes the bag from me and places it in the back of the truck, then he looks at Finlay. “There won’t be place in the cab for the guitar.”

“Oh, yeah.” Finlay quickly pulls the strap from her shoulder and hands it to Ethan.

When I open the door, I say, “You can sit in the middle.”

She glances at Ethan and whispers, “No way, he looks scary. You sit next to him.”

I chuckle as I get in. I’ve gotten used to the Jackson men. I remember thinking the same thing when I met them.

Finlay and Ethan get in and an uncomfortable silence falls around us.

“You should come for dinner, Ethan,” I say and Finlay elbows me in the side.

“No offense, Quinn, but I’ve tasted your food.”

“Hey, I told you my hand slipped. Besides, you didn’t have to eat the sauce. I did warn you.”

“Quinn, I had to freeze my toilet rolls. Your jalapeno sauce could be used as a weapon.”

I start to laugh until my stomach aches.

  “Okay, fine. I’ll order in.”

He stops in front of the house and says, “In that case, I’ll stay.”
>
He helps us carry Finlay’s things in. “Where do you want this?” he asks once we’re inside.

“I’ll show you.” I lead them to the room I’ve prepared for Finlay.

He places her guitar on the bed and the bag on the floor.

“I’m just going to go home and shower. I’ll be back in time for dinner. Oh, and don’t get burgers. I had that last night.”

When I start to walk with him, he says, “I’ll close the door on the way out.”

  “Great, see you later.”

Only when we hear the front door shut, does Finlay say, “Please tell me he’s the scary brother and Eli is the nice one.”

I pull a face and shake my head. “Eli is the older brother,” I say. “Don’t worry, they’re very nice once you get to know them.”

I help Finlay unpack and when we’re done, we hear the front door open.

“That must be Eli. Come, I’ll introduce you.”

She hesitates and I grab her hand. I pull her behind me, and as we come down the stairs, Eli shoves a hand through his hair. He looks worried.

Finlay yanks at my hand and before she can run, I say, “Hi, I didn’t expect you back so early. This is Finlay.” I pull her closer.

“Hi, Finlay. Welcome,” he says, and he reaches his hand out to her. I instantly notice the bandage.

“What happened to your hand?” I ask as I take hold of it. I lightly brush my fingers over it and look up at him.

“I hurt it while working,” he says.

He won’t look at me and it makes me frown.

“I’m going to go shower,” he says and he pushes by me.

Finlay’s eyes are huge as she stares at me. “I’m going to go sleep. Maybe they won’t look as intimidating once I’ve had some sleep.”

I walk to the kitchen to get some water and whisper, “Wait until you meet Mr. Jackson.”

I look from Finlay to Ethan. Both have been really quiet.

“So, Finlay,” Eli says. “Quinn tells me you’re the same age.”

“Yes, She’s a week older than me.”

“Will you be here for your birthday?”

She nods. “I was hoping to visit a while.”
