This book is very close to my heart because it’s inspired by my dad, who is no longer with us. It isn’t his story but he was very much in my mind when I wrote it. He was my biggest supporter and always believed in my writing, even when the rejections kept piling in. I’m sad that he never saw me jumping up and down with joy at finding an agent and a publisher, but I will always carry his love and encouragement in my heart.
