Her Stepbrothers Are Cowboys Page 3

by Trinity Blacio

“Yes, I can hear you, baby. I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you. I told your father you should know, but he kept saying, just let her be.”

“It’s okay, but question. Since all the information I have is most likely a lie where exactly are they living, Dean and the bitch?” Haven stuffed another bite into her mouth, hearing the door behind her opening.

Oh, she knew it was Sandra and her mate, followed by her two men, but she ignored them. “Mom?’

“You’re not going to like this, but they took over our home. I guess it’s their right since they are now head of the clan,” her mother said, the sadness in her voice had tears once more in her eyes.

“I’m going to kill her, mom. I can promise you that. Have a great time and I can’t wait to hear about your adventure. Love you and give Flint a hug for me.” Haven broke the connection, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, trying not to lose it in front of everyone.

“I don’t think now is a good time, please.” Haven got out as a single tear rolled down her cheek.

“What’s happened?” Landon and Cody were beside her in a second, wrapping their large warm arms around her.

“I knew all the information my so-called best friend gave me was wrong. I asked Mom where they were living.” Haven looked up into Landon’s gaze as another tear rolled down. “They’re living in the house I grew up in. My father’s home, where they had him murdered.”

Sandra gasped behind them. “Those freaking bastards.”

Haven glanced at Sandra and nodded. “One good thing. I know all about that house, even the hidden passageways. Even that bitch doesn’t know about them.”

Sandra stepped forward. “I’m sorry. I had no right, but we’ve, all of us have been together for a very long time. Cody and Landon are brothers and I had to make sure you were good enough for them.”

“Am I? Even with this death threat, am I good enough to belong with all of you?” Haven asked and turned staring back out at the desert around her. “Because right now I’m not too sure of anything, except killing the bitch that I thought was my best friend. The one who betrayed me and my family. She might not have been there in that room, but it was her actions that killed my father and left my mom and I to run in the night.”

Landon growled as did Cody as they both leaned over, nipping her shoulders. “We will hear none of that. You are our mate. One day soon, you’ll carry our children.” Landon placed a kiss on her cheek after releasing her shoulder. “But we do this together, all of us. I believe we should do this now, since they’ll believe that you are still coming, that nothing has changed, since we have the three they sent.”

“I agree. Come I’ll explain the layout of the town and our, well, what used to be our home,” Haven grabbed her pizza and pop, heading back inside, but stopped in front of Sandra. “I understand what you are saying, but never doubt me again, Sandra. For the last two years, I’ve been training and waiting for this minute. Shit,” Haven spun around. “Did you two get the container out of the trunk?” she asked as both men frowned and shook their head.

“What’s in the trunk?” Landon asked.

“Blood. I wasn’t about to stop and feed, bigger risk them knowing where I am. In this heat we’re going to have to dispose of it and I’ll need to find more too,” she said as both Cody and Landon shook their heads.

“No, you’ll be feeding from us. No more strangers or bottled,” Landon said, pulling her back into the kitchen where it was a full house. There had to be at least 40 people there all nodding to her and waiting.

“Wow,” Haven mumbled and scooted a little closer to Landon, as Cody took her hand squeezing it.

“We’re actually a small group, compared to some of the riders, but were some of the best. Of course, my father and a few of his men are with us to. But let’s find out what my men found out about our guests.” Landon moved her over to three men leaning against the wall watching everything.

“Haven, this is Quentin. He’s one that was actually born on Mar-Nut while most of us were born here on Earth.” Landon nodded to the bald man with the most stunning gray eyes.

He smiled and nodded his head to her. “Very nice to meet you. Next to me on my right is Kyle and to my left JoJo.” His gaze jumped to Landon.

“Let us know what you found out, she has a right to know what is going on,” Landon said.

“You know it was a trap, but what you didn’t know is the fact this Dean wants you as his bride. This Sasha is nothing but a means to get to you. Your father denied his quest for a mate, it seems. He had no plans to kill her, but he was going make her watch as they killed Sasha.,” Quentin informed them.

She shook her head and leaned against the counter. “This man must have a head the size of a watermelon and no brain. There would be no way in hell he’d touch me.” She shivered, picturing the man in question, dirty brown hair, skinny, smelly…” Nope, just gross.” Haven glanced down at her pizza and knew she wasn’t going be eating any time soon.

Sliding her plate on the counter, she asked. “So, what do you want to do? I mean I guess I could draw him out since he wants me.” Haven tilted her head to the side. “I do have this little number I could wear, was saving for something, but this would work.”

The room went silent and all eyes seemed to be on them as she looked around then peeked up at Landon and then at Cody. There eyes were glowing, and Haven swore she could see steam rising out of Landon’s nose.

“I’m afraid that is out of the question,” Sandra said, stepping around them and smiling at her. “When mates are found and they are no yet bonded, well, the thought of you going into a…”

“NO!” Landon growled so loud and deep, Haven glanced at the windows wondering if they were going to break.

  * * *

Landon hadn’t heard a word past the part where his woman was willing to use herself as bait. Something inside of him snapped, as he tried to control the power and animal inside him. Never in his whole life had a feeling like this rode him.

Inside his blood froze, his eyes would now be the glowing red that of his Stang, the deadly one that would kill without a thought if his mate were threatened. Landon knew all eyes were on him as he reached out and yanked Haven into his arms, grabbing a hand full of her silky red hair and pulling her head back to stare into her green eyes.

Her full, thick ruby lips were slightly parted and he would have smiled, knowing that his Little Filly appeared to like a rough touch, but right now he would make sure she knew to never place herself in danger. “Never, do you understand me? You will never be placed in a position that your life is threatened. Quentin, you are her guard when we are not around,” Landon ordered and covered her mouth with his, sliding his tongue inside, tasted his mate for the first time.

Her body relaxed in his arms as he felt his brother Cody come in behind her, reaching around her to grab onto her full breasts, kissing her neck as he lifted his head to stare at her swollen lips. “I mean what I said, Little Filly. You will never be placed in harm’s way as long as we are alive.” He turned her around into Cody’s arms, turning to Quentin. “While on this mission I expect both you and JoJo to cover her back, no matter what. Understood?”

Quentin stood straight as did JoJo. “It will be done. No one will hurt your woman,” both men pledged.

Landon glanced over Haven’s head to see Cody nod, holding onto, Haven. “Tell us, Haven, What are we looking at—the property and the house itself? Where would this Reynolds person be?”

Haven snorted. “That’s easy. He’d use my father’s office, the one he was killed in, just to show his power to everyone.”

“Into himself much? Jeez!” Sandra growled, which had Haven glancing back at the woman.

“You have no idea, but we’re going to have to really watch for his father,” Haven peeked at him, then at Cody. “The man is a sadistic bastard. He killed his wife in a jealous rage over nothing. My father was furious, he was put him in the ground for 50 years I was told, but whe
n he got up…” She shook her head. “Meanest SOB around. I swear he used to terrorize the little kids too. I’ll never forget the time I ran into him at a meeting with my father. Evil, that is all there is to it. There was nothing in his eyes. Even my father had warned my mother and I to stay away from that man.” Haven ran her hands up and down her arms. “My father was trying to figure out a way to put him down, but he couldn’t without an uproar from some of the elders there. They still considered him one of their finest hunters.”

“Landon?” Cody asked and he waited until the other in his head responded.

Landon spoke to the other being telepathically. The being seemed to know when he was needed.

“This one has been flying under the radar, even for us. Tomorrow, Chelonas Crociblis will be at this home.” Landon grit his teeth, knowing first hand the kind of damage this thing could cause, He had seen it happen on other worlds though, never on Earth.

“If I wasn’t nervous about leaving you here, I would. Chelonas Crociblis tomorrow morning,” Landon informed his group.

“Shit, last time you had nightmares for a week,” Warden said, pulling his woman in close and holding onto her.

“Ok, what was that mumbo jumbo you were saying and why do I have a feeling I’m so not going to like it?” his smart Little Filly asked.

“It’s not a matter of being scared of it, but what he leaves behind isn’t pleasant and the clean up is disgusting,” Cody said. “Well, I guess if you had this thing after you, then you could be scared, but we’ve never seen the thing. Just felt it’s presence. I don’t think anyone’s actually seen it, have they?” Cody glanced at Quentin, the oldest one in the room.

“No, not that I am aware of, but again my parents…” Quentin closed his eyes for a second, then shook his head. “My father did, it was before he was even mated. It seems seeing the animal can actually do as much damage as the thing killing you. It’s one of the reasons it hides itself from the riders and everybody else.”

“Oh lovely, not,” Haven muttered, bringing a smile to his face.

For the next hour and half, Haven showed them every inch of her father’s place as a drawing of the home and city in question appeared on his kitchen table courtesy of his other who always made sure they would get what they needed for the hunt.

An hour later, after going over the plan with his men, Landon glanced around but he didn’t see Haven anywhere. “Cody where’s our Little Filly?” he asked.

“She’s out here at the barn with Sandra watching the wild mustangs. It would seem even the wild ones know your woman is important. Many of them have come up to the fence to get a close look at her.” Quentin informed him.

“Why don’t we break this up and we’ll meet back here at 3:00 a.m.. Come, let’s join our mate and watch the wild ones come in,” Landon told his brother as they all moved towards the doors, with Warden next to him.

“I want to thank you personally for not taking Sandra’s head off after she did what she did,” Warden apologized.

“There is no need. Your woman explained herself and I have a feeling these two are going to be very close, especially since they are the only two females in our circle. I almost feel sorry for them both, having all of us watching their every moves, and I said almost.” He nodded to the two women in question, both sat on top of the fence staring out at the mustangs that came by.

“Will you look at that old coot. I swear he was flirting with our female on purpose,” Cody grumbled, as he watched the older male horse nudge Haven with his head, wanting attention.

“I have to agree. Never had he shown any interest an any other person before,” Landon laughed. “I think we are being put in our place, little brother.” Landon wrapped his arms around Haven and pushed the males head away from her crotch. “Back off you old coot, she’s ours. Go bug the females over there.”

“What are you doing? I was just petting him.” Haven frowned over her shoulder at him.

“Little Filly, that old goat was horny. He smelled us on you thinking you were like us, look.” Landon nodded to the horse in question who gave her one last look before turning to move towards the females, his cock hard and ready to rut.

“Well, damn.” Haven glanced back at him, then at Cody. “Please tell me you are not that huge, because if you are there is going to be some serious problems here,” she mumbled and stared at the stallion as he jumped on the female. “Landon is there something you haven’t told me?”

“Yep, she is smart. I’ll see you tomorrow Haven. Alphas,” Sandra said as Warden lifted his female up and carried her to their car.

“You were going to tell me something?” she asked, as Landon also lifted her up and placed her in front of him.

“When we claim you, there will be a change. If there wasn’t, we wouldn’t be able to take you with us when we hunted and that would be a problem because we won’t leave you here.” Landon took her hand as Cody took her other one, leading back to the house.

“A long time ago it was decided that in order for us to perform our duties we must have a mate that could accept us both physically and travel with us without problems,” Cody finished for him.

Stepping up onto the porch, Haven turned and stared at them. “Are you telling me that you are that big?” her voice squeaked and she stepped back, her gaze right at his crotch.

“Stop!” Landon and Cody stepped up on the porch and surrounded her, placing kisses on her, touching her. “Don’t be scared of us, Little Filly. We promise you when we love you, the earth will rock but relax ,Little Filly. Tonight is not the night we claim you. No, our night will be when you are free from worry and the moon is full.” He stepped back as Cody lifted her into his arms, carrying her inside.

“But that does not mean we can’t make sure our woman is totally satisfied before we sleep.” Landon said, leading her inside to the master suite they had made up for their woman.

Landon couldn’t help but smile as Haven squirmed out of Cody’s arms and moved around the room. Even he had been impressed when they had finished it last year.

  Chapter Five

Haven couldn’t believe what she was seeing. It was as if the two men behind her knew her every deep secret. The old gothic four-post bed, with a red canopy could have been made for a queen. Towards the middle of the room, there was a fish tank designed like that a globe, with different species she had never seen. There was a fireplace in the corner, with a lounge chair and two armchairs by it, but what had to be her favorite feature was the large bay window that had a nice large seat which was surrounded by shelves. The view was breath taking as was everything in this room.

She spun around with her hands on her hips. “Okay, which one of you has been in my head?”

Cody smiled and Landon threw his head back and laughed. “Don’t worry about it, we’re just happy you like it. Is there anything you would change?” he asked, as he moved behind her and started to unsnap her top. “There are a few little rules we would like you to follow when we are in here, which we hope will be often.” He leaned down as he took off her top and freeing her large breasts into his hands.

“One, no clothes in here. We want to see, touch, kiss every inch of this body when we want,” Cody stared at her. “But we know there will days when you are out of sorts and we accept this.” He leaned down and sucked a nipple into his mouth.

“Second, upon entering, we ask you place these on you,” Landon said, reaching and taking her hand where he wrapped a silken cuff around one wrist and then the next. That is when she noticed the metal hooks hanging from them.

“Well damn,” Haven muttered, as Cody knelt before her and proceeded to help her out of her boots, socks and jeans.

“Um, I can smell your calling scent,” Cody rubbed hiss cheek on her lower stomach as he reached up and slowly lowered her panties.

She should have stopped them, but right now Haven needed their touch, and didn’t know why.

“Third,” Landon said, holding something that looked li
ke a piece of jewelry. “and this will always be on you, no matter if we are in the room or not. Once you accept this, it does not come off of you. Even in death this will go with you, calling to us, because we will follow right behind you, Little Filly.” Landon reached around her, to put on a collar-like necklace on her that was not from Earth.

Cody looked up at her. “If you noticed Sandra had something similar on. Each woman who joins with one of our riders will wear one. In some ways it protects them, but it also starts the change, bonding you to us, also letting others know who you belong to.”

Haven reached up and ran her finger over the material. “I know you’re my mates and already you have made a place in my heart that is yours and yours alone. But why is this much, much more?” she asked, peaking over her shoulder at Landon, then back to Cody,

“Because it is,” Landon whispered, waiting.

Lowering her head, Haven whispered back. “Please.” With one-word Haven had given herself to these to hot men.

There was a smile on her face. There were a few things about they would have to learn too. She was not going be some push-over, that was for sure.

But it would seem that wasn’t what they wanted when Landon’s hand connected with her bare ass. “What was that for?” she asked reaching back and rubbing her cheek.

“Please what, Little Filly? And you will be explaining that smile too,” Landon said, as Cody rose and placed a kiss on her cheek before moving to stand next to his brother.

“Yes, I’ll accept your collar, but Landon…” she looked over her shoulder at both brothers, just loving the site of her two cowboys. “You two will learn that I’m my own person and rules were meant to be broken, sometimes.”

“Landon, did we ever show Haven our rope?” Cody asked, his gaze not leaving hers.

“Little Filly can get loose Cody,” she giggled, earning another swat to her ass.

“Bend your head Haven, and behave,” Landon growled, stepping forward and securing the choker around her.
