“Just give me my stuff. I don’t have the time for this.” Honey said.
Clearly the girl was feeling bad because she marched down the stairs and right into Honey’s face. “I said, you gon’ have to take it. So what you wanna do?”
She and Honey were about the same size so if Honey put up enough effort it had potential to be a fair fight.
Honey took a small step backwards and the girl pushed her the rest of the way. Honey stumbled back a few steps.
“Hit that bitch Honey.” Arizona screamed. Congo watched Arizona. He wasn’t sure how much longer she was going to be able to stay off the girl.
Honey looked at Arizona and that was the wrong move. Samuel’s sister drew back and punched the shit out of Honey. Her mouth spouted blood instantly. Although it was a low blow, that was what it took to get Honey going. She charged at her and they both fell onto the ground. Honey was swinging all over the place but somehow the girl go the upper hand. She was on Honey punching her all over her head and arms. She wasn’t stopping. She was delivering blow after blow and Honey was taking them all. Congo found himself taking a few steps forward ready to break it up but stopped when he realized these were women and they were one on one. Honey had to take this loss on her own. Or that’s what he was thinking. What Arizona was thinking was a totally different story. Honey was still swinging trying to get the girl off of her when Arizona grabbed her by her hair and drug her to the ground.
“Get up bitch. I’m finna beat yo ass.” Arizona waited until the girl was back upright before lunging at her and punching her in the face the same way she’d done Honey. “Fight me bitch. Fight me.” Arizona yelled.
The girl was trying her best to go to toe with Arizona but that wasn’t happening in this lifetime. Arizona was beating her everyway but the right way. Her mother even came off the porch like she was about to do something but surprisingly Honey stopped her.
“Get back Joanne.”
“Get out of my way.” She tried to brush past Honey but was stopped by Honey’s hand landing across her face. The slap resonated throughout the yard. “You little stupid girl.” The lady held her face and hobbled back up the stairs.
Honey turned back around and faced Arizona and the sister. She was on the ground with Arizona standing over her.
“Let me get that Z.” Honey must have felt rejuvenated because she walked over and kicked the girl in the stomach. Arizona backed away giving her room to handle her business. Honey still wasn’t putting in as much work as Arizona had been doing but she wasn’t on the ground getting demolished this time. When he felt they’d had enough of each other Congo pulled Honey away.
“Get your shit Honey.” Arizona yelled as she and Toro finished putting her other things that were left in the yard in Congo’s trunk.
Honey turned back around and snatched her shirt from the girl’s body. Leaving her in nothing but a bra. “Take off my shoes.” She stood next to Congo waiting for her to take her sneakers off. When she did she threw them. Honey snatched them up and threw them in the trunk with everything else. She walked back to Congo and pulled his arm.
“I need to get my other sketch books out of the house.”
“Go ahead.” Congo was looking like he owned the whole street as he nodded his head towards Samuel’s house.
Honey looked from Congo to Samuel and his mother standing on the porch. His sister was still sitting on the ground. She walked to them and looked at them both. “I need my notebooks,” Afraid of having to fight, they both moved to the side and allowed her inside.
It didn’t take her long before she was coming back out of the door. She scanned the yard to make sure she had all of her belongings before getting in the backseat of Congo’s car. He mugged Samuel’s ass hard before going back to his whip. Once he was in they sped off.
“Honey, you gon have to get your hands up if you gon’ fuck with my brother. Hoes are gon’ be trying you all day every day. If you can’t hold your own they gon’ be dragging you all over the place. You already pretty so they gon assume you can’t do shit anyway. That’s the only thing I liked about Neeka. That bitch can throw down. It aint always cute to fight but shit you at least need to know how. You feel me?”
Honey nodded.
“As long as I’m with you, I got your back but don’t have me caught out fighting by myself. Cool?” Arizona looked at her.
“I got you. Thank you. I’ve never been in a fight before.”
“That was clear Honey. You can’t fight for shit, but I’ll have you right soon enough.”
Congo was glad Arizona was taking Honey under her wing. That was just what she needed. His sister was a lady, but she could get down with the best of em and wasn’t scared to do it. There’d been times she’d been right in the mix with him and Toro popping niggas. They all talked on the way back to Toro and Arizona’s house. It was almost nine o clock at night once they pulled back up and as much as he didn’t want to, Congo knew he needed to go home. Arizona had already told Honey she could crash there for a few days so he was good on that end. Now how she was going to feel about him going home to Neeka tonight was another thing. He helped her take her clothes upstairs and put them in the large purple trunk Arizona had in their closet. She stacked all her shoes in a trash bag and stuck everything else in the small clear container Arizona had given her with the other purple one.
“I’ ma head on home, I’ll check you tomorrow aight?”
Honey looked like she wanted to say something but nodded her head instead.
“Z said if you need anything let her know. You already know if you need me to hit my cell.”
“I will.” Honey sat on the edge of the bed.
He leaned down and kissed her mouth.
“I’ll be back tomorrow after I get off work. Z, gon’ take you to work in the morning.”
“Okay.” She looked down at the floor.
Congo knew she was mad, but he’d have to make it up to her tomorrow. He’d already stayed out last night. He had to take his ass home today. He looked back at Honey once more before walking out of the door.
Chapter Seven
Go with someone who appreciates and accepts whoever you are…
“You sure about this?” Arizona asked Toro as he walked into their bedroom from the shower.
His thick muscular body was still dripping with water as he padded across the floor. He had a towel wrapped around his waist and a smaller one in his hand drying his hair. His broad shoulders and buff arms were filled with tattoos. He had so many pictures covering his body it was ridiculous. Arizona’s favorite was the large picture of the state of Arizona tatted across his back. Inside the state was a heart with a hyphen separating the date they met and the word forever. A picture of her face was directly under it. She was lying across the bed in her silk nightgown watching him get dressed. Arizona loved her some Toro. They had been together for the past eight years. He’d been her lover since the eleventh grade and she didn’t see it ending no time soon. He was the one person that determined her life. His existence was everything she needed to survive. If something was to happen to Toro, Arizona didn’t know if she’d make it in life. He was her protector, provider, best friend, and soul mate. He completed her. That’s why she was a little apprehensive about trying for another baby. They’d been trying for the past few months and it seemed like she just couldn’t get pregnant. It had made her depressed for a few months but with the love Toro showed her, she got over it. He acted like it didn’t bother him that she hadn’t been able to give him a child but she knew it did. It had to. Toro loved children. He’d practically raised Malakhi alongside her and Virginia. He was the best uncle and father figure in the world. He took him to football practice, school shopping, fishing, arcades, anything Khi wanted, his uncle Toro got it. It was a beautiful thing to see and Arizona loved it. She wanted desperately to give her man his first child but it seems like her and God wasn’t on the same page.
“Yeah I’m sure. I want you to have my baby so bad. I
don’t see no point in waiting just being honest.”
“I thought we were waiting a few months before we started trying again. You know how depressed I get.”
“What for though Z? We might as well keep trying now.”
“I just don’t want to get our hopes up like always just for it not to work out.” Arizona looked down at her flat stomach. Oh how she wished a baby was in there.
Toro knowing her like the back of his hand came over and kneeled next to the bed. He leaned his chin on her bare thighs and looked up at her. His hands rubbed up and down her legs as he took in the sad look on her face. He knew it bothered her that she hadn’t given him a baby yet, but what she didn’t know was that he loved her past that. If she never gave him one seed, her love was enough.
“Arizona, look at me,” He pinched her stomach playfully. “Look at me baby.”
She looked up for a second but cast her eyes down to his chest.
“Do you know how much I love you?”
“I do, but I also know how much you love kids.”
“Z, I love you more than anything. That includes kids. I aint gon’ lie and say I don’t want one, hell I want ten, but I want you more. So what if we can’t have one. We can adopt. As long as I’m with you, I can handle everything else.”
Tears wet Arizona’s cheeks as she listened to her man talk. This was why she loved him. He understood her. He knew the right things to say every time. Having someone to love her the way Toro did was only something she read about in books. She spent a lot of time reading books. Her favorites being urban fiction. Between the stories Keisha Ervin, Francis Ray, Sygne T. Monee, and A’zayler wrote she couldn’t catch a break. She loved the men in their books because they all seemed so perfect. But not even they could top Toro Lucas. He was the total package. Kind, sexy, caring, hood, and she didn’t even want to start on his bedroom skills. She’d be daydreaming all night if she did.
“So what you say? You down to try again?” He kissed her thigh.
“If it means I get to ride your face in the process.” Arizona slid the side of her dress up exposing her pretty waxed vagina.
“That goes without saying right there wifey. Hop on up here.” Toro got on the bed and laid on the pillow with his hands behind his head. Toro pulled at her gown. “Hold up, take this shit off.”
Arizona pulled her gown over her head exposing her naked body. She straddled his face and he locked his arms around her thighs. When she felt his tongue lick from the bottom to the top Arizona threw her head back and screamed. Toro licked her clit and made a loud slurping noise as he feasted on her goodies.
“You said you wanted to ride, so ride.” Toro’s lips grazed her lower lips and she shivered.
“Oh baby, I am. I am.” Arizona moaned in pleasure.
She was grinding her hips against his face and he sounded like he was enjoying every second of it. His moans were starting to get louder than hers. Another thing Arizona loved about her man. He made sure to let her know he enjoyed every part of her.
“You playing. Get your ass down.” Toro pushed her off of him roughly and climbed on top of her. He grabbed her neck and lowered his mouth so he could bite the soft flesh above her breasts. “I’m giving yo sexy ass ten babies tonight.”
Arizona didn’t say anything she just marveled at how handsome he was. He was balancing on his arms making all his muscles pop out at once. She looked down between them and laid eyes on his member. It was hard and sliding against her stomach.
“Why you playing with me Toro?”
He ignored her and slapped his dick against her wet opening. He bit his bottom lip and slid in.
“AGGGHHHHHHHHHH,” Arizona’s eyes bucked.
“You must want Congo’s girl to hear you. You showing out for her or something?”
Arizona shook her head from side to side while Toro looked down at her smiling.
“Yeah yo ass trying to show out.” He moved slowly in and out of her. Arizona’s legs wrapped around his waist and her arms circled his strong biceps. “Hug me tighter baby.”
Arizona squeezed Toro closer to her body and bit his shoulder as he slid in and out of her. Her pussy was so wet it made noises every time her boo dug deeper. He was going hard and she was loving it. He leaned back so that he was on his knees and looked down between them. His face twisted in pleasure as he watch them attach over and over again.
“I love you Z, damn I fucking love yo ass.” Toro gritted out. Switching one of her legs around so that it was going across his chest Toro sped up. Arizona was moaning and holding her hand against his abs. Toro kissed the back of her leg before slapping her hand away. “Ah shit I’m baby I’m about to bust.”
Grinding her hips faster, Arizona reached her peak at the same time Toro reached his. They fell all over each other as they climaxed. Breathing hard and hugging the other. They lay twisted in sweat for another five or ten minutes before taking a shower. Once they got finished they got back into bed and went to sleep. The next morning Arizona walked out of her room heading for the kitchen. She wanted to make Toro and Honey some breakfast before they went to work. She didn’t work because Toro wanted her at home whenever he was there so he handled shit for them. He worked for the city and made pretty good money so she had no objections. It was nothing compared to what he made when he worked for Jabar, but if this is what kept him out of jail she was with it. When she walked into the kitchen she was caught off guard by Honey. She was standing at the sink washing dishes. She was completely dressed, all the way down to her shoes.
“Why you up so early?”
Honey looked over at Arizona. She was dressed in a cute silk gown and a housecoat that matched. Arizona’s hair was wrapped up but her face was glowing. She was gorgeous. He skin was radiant and her features were well defined. Honey thought she looked a lot like the actress Gabrielle Dennis. Both of them were beyond beautiful.
“I always get up this early,” Honey cut off the water as she rinsed the last dish. “Has anybody ever told you that you look like Janay from the game?”
“Derwin’s baby mama?” Arizona asked
“Yep.”
“Nah but I’ll take that. That girl was cute.”
“She was and so are you Z.” Honey smiled and took a seat at the table.
“Honey, you know you’re cute too right? I mean like super cute. Almost model, foreign beauty, or black girls rock kind of cute.”
Honey and Arizona both laughed.
“That made no sense at all Z, but I get what you’re saying. Thank you.”
“You match my brother well. I like you for him.”
Honey looked off to the side and smiled before looking back at Arizona who was now taking stuff out of the cabinets.
“I like me for him too. He’s just so different from what I’ve been dating. Ever since I moved here I’ve stayed to myself. Meeting Congo that day was the best thing that’s happened since being in Columbia.”
“Where you from?”
“Georgia.”
“Why you move up here then?”
Arizona was already looking at Honey so she didn’t miss the hesitation, but she wasn’t taking her question back because she still wanted an answer.
“My mother and uncle are both in prison here. I’m closer to them this way.”
“Oh okay. That’s what’s up. But you still aint told me why you up so early fully dressed. It aint even eight o clock yet. Congo told me to have you at work by ten.”
Honey went on to tell Arizona about the way she lived with Samuel and his family and why she had grown accustomed to getting up early. Arizona wasn’t the least bit surprised but she didn’t speak on it very much either. That was Honey’s business and hopefully after yesterday she’d have some sense for herself. She stirred the confetti pancake mix preparing to make Toro some. That was his favorite kind and she loved to spoil him.
“Toro, should be down in a minute. Once I fix his food and stuff we can leave if you’re ready.”
“After
the night y’all had I’m sure he’ll be sleep for a little longer.”
Arizona smiled the biggest smile Honey had seen on her face since she’d met her and that was saying a lot because it seemed like Arizona smiled all day. “Toro said you probably heard us.”
“You was so loud it wasn’t like I had much of a choice.”
Arizona tapped Honey on the shoulder. “My bad girl. That nigga just be putting in work I can’t help but to scream sometimes.”
“Must be nice.”
“What you mean must be nice? I know my brother gotta be working with something as crazy as these hoes be acting.”
Honey shrugged. “I wouldn’t know.”
Arizona stopped stirring the mix and looked at Honey. “You mean to tell me you and Congo aint had sex yet?”
“Not yet. We kiss and touch a lot but that’s it. He’s ate the box before but nothing else.”
“You lying,” Arizona looked at Honey in utter disbelief.
“I wish I was. I want to so bad, it’s just he still has Neeka and I had Samuel so it was kinda awkward.”
“Damn.” Was all Arizona said before turning back to the stove. She really couldn’t believe this. Never in all the years she’d known Congo had he been this clingy with any female. Not even Neeka. Arizona thought maybe it had something to do with how good Honey’s pussy was or something but finding out that wasn’t it had her stuck. The way Congo held her hand, let her drive his car, kept her in the bathroom with him, and ran to her defense was all crazy. She remembered watching him yesterday when Honey was on her phone call and how quick he’d jumped to her rescue. Arizona thought for sure they were fucking each other. She had to admit though, Honey was a sweetie, and her whole aura was soothing. She could see why Congo was so gone over this chick, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t surprised by it.
“Z, is it bad that I want Congo to break up with Neeka for me?”
“No. As a matter of fact Hell no. He been needed to drop that bitch. She’s a thirst trap, and an unappreciative one at that. Congo is working hard as hell in this hot ass sun to provide for that hoe and all she can think about his him going back to drugs. My boy trying to make it the legit way and she don’t wanna see it happen.” Arizona shook her head. “I don’t know why he aint been left her.”
