Vampire Mate: BBW Paranormal Romance Page 14

Glenn smiled, hugging Charlene proudly to his side.

Charlotte squirmed out of her mate's arms and ran to hug both Glenn and Charlene. “My vampire sister and brother-in-law!” she squealed and gushed. “Have you met my best friend, Bryn? She's a vamp too.”

  “Yes, she's awesome,” Charlene grinned.

“Yes! Vampires are awesome! Not as awesome as werewolves,” Charlotte added quickly to a growl from Lucas. “I'll see you tomorrow, at the Enforcers' briefing. And after that, we'll go to a blood bar! Lucas never lets me go with Bryn, but now, I can go with you! We'll all go together, you, me, Bryn, Glenn...and Lucas.”

“Charlotte...” Lucas began in a warning tone.

“They can drink blood, but I'm sure there'll be something on the menu for us as well,” Charlotte chattered on excitedly, skipping into Lucas's arms. “Please, Lucas! Please!”

“Fine,” Lucas grumbled at last. “Now can we get home? I want...”

“I know what you want,” Charlotte whispered and Lucas growled lower.

Glenn walked them to the door, and Charlene gave her sister another smothering hug before they left the penthouse.

“A blood bar, eh?” She leaned against the door and arched a brow at Glenn.

He pulled her into his arms and whispered, “You don't ever need to go to a blood bar to feed. You will take my blood, every night.”

“Take your blood?” She bit her lower lip with a fang. “Aren't vamps only allowed to drink from another when they are...”

“Exactly,” Glenn said with a wicked gleam in his eye. “You will take my blood, and more...every night. You are my mate, Charlene.”

  “Every night?”

  “Every. Night.”

She gasped at that dark promise of decadent, sinful pleasure. Glenn read the desire in her eyes, in her softly quivering body and grabbed her, misting her instantly to their bed.

Charlene blinked up at her mate, seeing the moonlight dance on his dark hair and accentuating his handsome features. Glenn was gorgeous, and he was great. And not just in bed. He was that, and so much more. He was a great man, a great Master vampire, a great mate. She saw how much his vampires and Council members respected him. They had been willing to fight to the death for him. They had fought, not out of fear, but out of love.

She gazed deeply into his eyes and whispered, “I am so proud to be your mate, Glenn. So proud, and so happy. I love you.”

Glenn pressed his lips to her forehead, breathing her in, marveling that she was here, in his arms, in his bed, in his life. “I love you, Charlene. I...” His voice cracked and dropped to a whisper. “I wouldn't know what to do if...” If I lost you.

She touched a finger to his lips. “You will never lose me. And...you know.” She kissed him softly. “You've always known what to do. You've always done right. You have so much power, and you can do so much. In fact, you have done so much. But...” She trailed off.

  “Yes?”

“I know there's lots more you can do, and I want you to show them to me...slowly.” She trailed her finger down his chest, and lower.

Glenn caught her hand suddenly, his eyes turning black and dangerous. “With pleasure, my love.”

Charlene could feel her senses heightening, her vision sharpening with her first spike of arousal, and she knew that her own eyes had become the same deep black as Glenn's.

“There are lots of things I want to do with you, to you,” she hissed through her lengthening fangs.

“We have time.” Glenn smiled. “Lots of time.”

As Glenn dipped his head, lowing his mouth to her neck, Charlene turned her head, exposing her neck to him. She cried out in intense pleasure as her mate took her blood and her body.

With her powerful mate in her arms, Charlene sighed as she gazed out the window and took in the cityscape that was bathed in silvery moonlight.

  Time was a funny thing.

She had gone through so much. Yet, it felt like her life was only just beginning.

Had it been so long ago that she was a demon? It was like a fading memory, a distant nightmare.

She had been a vampire for just a few hours, and already it felt right. Like she had been a vampire forever. Being with her mate, sharing a bond and a love that was deeper and more powerful than blood.

It wasn't just a romantic ideal. He was indeed the one, the one meant for her. And she was his and his alone. They belonged together, to each other.

Wrapping herself around her mate, Charlene signed in gratitude and bliss.

Every night sounded good to her.
