“You got everything? You sure you want to leave everything behind? I had already hit my people up and let them know to handle scheduling the movers and stuff,” Sawyer let me know.
I scanned around the bedroom, taking in a place that was once my comfort zone. A home that I was proud to brag about and say that we, as in Troy and I, had worked hard to get but now, I was ready to leave it all behind and the things inside. I was also leaving the heavy burden that weighed down on my shoulders; Troy, the miscarriages and the pain.
I had decided when I walked out of this house, I wasn’t looking back, and I wasn’t ever coming back to New York no matter what.
“I’m sure. I don’t want nothing.” I snapped back to reality as I began to walk towards the front of the house as Sawyer carried my suitcase for me.
“You sure you don’t want to come to my house? It’s kinda late,” Sawyer asked me as the Uber driver pulled up in front of my parents’ home.
I had yet to call them and tell them about what had happened and to be honest, I didn’t think I was ready, but I knew out of everybody my mother would be understanding and most likely happy about it. My father, on the other hand, would be a grump about it because he had sent me lots of money in order for me to pay off some of the things for the wedding that was only a few months away.
“Yeah, I’m sure. I’ll call you tomorrow though, ok. And thank you for everything,” I replied as I reached over and grabbed Sawyer’s hand and brought it up to my lips.
Snatching his hand away from me, he looked at me like I was crazy. “I get that you all distraught and shit, but don’t ever try to kiss my hand like I’m some bitch.”
“Now come here.” He pulled me aggressively towards him as his lips covered mine.
Sawyer had his massive hands resting on my lower back pulling me towards him.
“Get on my lap,” he directed of me.
“What? The driver is right there.” I looked over my shoulder as the driver of the Uber truck kept his head forward as if we weren’t in the back of his seat being intimate.
“Fuck him, and I just want a kiss.” Sawyer chuckled.
“We were just kissing.” I laughed, confused.
“Girl, get your ass up here.” He pulled me onto his lap, and I could feel how hard his dick was as memories of how good he fucked me this morning flashed into my head.
My pussy instantly began to pulsate and want him inside of me, but I was too exhausted. All I wanted to do was take a hot shower and sleep.
“I know you feel him. You lucky I know yo’ ass done had a long day or otherwise you would be going home with me,” he expressed as he kissed me across my chest.
“But check it, if you need anything let me know. I got you and I’m glad you here with me. No lie,” he let me know. and I smiled.
“I’m glad to be back here too and with you.” I smirked, and he gave me one more kiss before he patted me on my ass for me to get up.
Scooting out of his lap, Sawyer and I both got out of the truck so that he could help me get my suitcase out of the trunk.
“Alright, I’ll talk to you later.” He licked his pink lips as he pulled down on his bushy beard.
“Ok,” I replied as he got back inside of the truck and I went up to the front door.
Huffing, I braced myself for my parents’ reaction as I knocked on the door.
“What are you doing here Brynlee?” my mother asked as she looked out past me to see how I got here.
Turning to look behind me, I saw that Sawyer was now driving off.
“It’s a long story Mom,” I replied, trying my hardest not to fucking break down in tears, especially after telling myself that I wasn’t going to cry and how I was letting go.
Walking farther into the house, my mother followed closely behind me. I could sense that she was worried, and I knew that neither one of us were going to be able to get any sleep until I told her what happened.
“Baby, so what’s going on?” She folded her robe and sat with her legs crossed on the sofa next to me.
“Mom…” I paused as I thought about the right words to say, just so that I wouldn’t end up in my feelings, but there was no way of saying this without reopening a closed a wound.
“Troy had a whole baby on me,” I confessed as my voice cracked and my hands began to shake.
“What!” she yelled way louder than expected.
“Janice, who the hell is that in my house this late?” my father yelled from upstairs.
“It’s Brynlee baby.” My mother cut her eyes at me because she knew how my dad could be.
There was so much stuff that she and I would discuss, but we wouldn’t tell him because he was so overprotective and most of the time. He meant well but his words didn’t come across as so.
“We don’t have to tell him what’s going on if you don’t want to,” my mother whispered lowly as we heard my father’s loud footsteps coming down the stairs.
“I’ll tell him.” I nodded.
There he goes. I faked a smile as he made his way over to where we were with a scowl on his face.
It was so funny that my dad was so serious all the damn time. You might get a little laughter out of him and of course he treated me like a princess but since he was an officer most of the time, he wore a serious expression.
“What the hell you doing back in Texas? You should be in New York with that man you about to marry. Preparing that wedding you done drained me dry for,” he grouched as he went over and sat down in the recliner.
“Dad, we not getting married and I’ve moved back home for good.”
“What!” He shot straight up and looked at me.
I could see beads of sweat forming on his forehead, most likely thinking about all the money that he had wasted.
“Now Brynlee, you better have a good reason for this, and you better be able to get some of my money back.”
“Dad, I don’t know if I can since the wedding is only a few months away, but I will try. However, Troy had a baby on me. He real life had a baby on me,” I repeated because the words hit me hard, and the look of pity that my father’s face bore, let me know that he felt sorry for me.
“I’m goin’ to fuck that boy up. He came down here with all that got damn begging and crying like mothafuckin’ R. Kelly just to get you down there when he knew he had a damn baby.” He was now standing up and pacing the floor as he rubbed his temples.
“Brynlee, baby, go get my phone. I’m about to call this son of a bitch.” My father was heated but now I had to tell him the part that most likely would send him into cardiac arrest.
“He’s in jail for pulling a gun on me and shooting at Sawyer.” I shook my head.
“He did what! Aw hell nah, get on your phone and book me a damn flight to New York. I’m going right up to that jail and I’m kicking his ass.” My father was angry. The wrinkles in his forehead proved it.
“Bryan, calm down now. You are getting yourself too worked up,” my mother told my father, who only ignored her.
“I’m ok Daddy. He is in jail and I am never going back.” I sighed as I sat back on the couch and ran my fingers through my hair.
“You’re damn right you’re not,” my father expressed.
Shaking my head at him, we continued to talk, and I let them know about everything that happened. My mother of course was the level-headed one and was letting me know that everything would be fine, as to my father who was still talking crazy and wanted to seek revenge.
Once the conversation was over, we all headed up the stairs and into our own rooms. I took a shower and cuddled up in my bed and allowed my body to get some rest.
Merci
One week later…
It was twelve in the afternoon and here I was with my legs crossed underneath me, in nothing but a big t-shirt, wearing the biggest smile that a girl could have.
Greyson had just said the sweetest shit. He had a way with his words that would have me smiling like a Cheshire cat. He was just so… fucking p
erfect to me. Everything about that man was fine to me, and I loved the fact that he was tall so that I could climb his ass like a tree.
I had to admit it was a little scary. So far, he was so flawless, well besides his temper, but the more we talked about it, I understood where his anger came from.
I hated that his mother was married to a man that was supposed to love her but instead he caused her harm; killing her. That was the scariest shit ever. I prayed I never got in no shit like that. Nix was the closest I had ever been to dating an abusive person and just the little bit of abuse he did show me, I never wanted to experience that shit again.
I was lowkey still shaken up by that shit and I was never hosting anything at his club again. I didn’t even care if it caused me to lose a few clients. I just couldn’t do it. My self-respect and also my safety was way more important to me than hosting events for someone, just to make them happy. Which was why I canceled on doing Luca’s event.
I could see my ass now, looking over my shoulder every five minutes, thinking that he was somewhere lurking ready to fucking scoop my ass up and take me off into a dark closet or some shit.
Greyson: So you up for hanging out and going out to eat or some?
He sent another text message, and I read over it as I bit down on my lip. He had me on cloud nine and I was loving it. I still couldn’t believe that we fucked, especially with me telling myself that I was going to take things slow with him. Well I didn’t, and I didn’t see a problem with it. We had been fucking like rabbits ever since we fucked in his mom’s house.
I shook my head at the fact that we fucked in the dead woman’s house. I was going straight to hell.
I laughed out loud at my damn self as I texted him back and let him know that I was game for whatever he had planned. I loved the fact that he was trying to spend time with me before he left to go to Dallas, Texas.
Sawyer had a show up there and even though I wanted to go with him, they were going to be down there all weekend doing shows Friday and Saturday night. I had my own money to make and it was time to get back to it.
Getting up off the sofa, I walked to my bedroom so that I could get dressed. I still couldn’t believe it was after twelve and I was still lounging around my house in nothing.
I needed to get dressed and to see my mom. Something that I had dreaded because she always had her hand out even though there were a million people staying in that damn house with her.
It was actually a damn shame at how many people were still living there. Most of the people that did stay there were now grown as fuck.
As soon as I was able to get up out of there, I did. I couldn’t see myself being stuck in that house, having to follow all those rules my mother liked to order and be grown as fuck.
I had already showered so I went over to my closet and flicked the light on. Not even going all the way in, I stood in the entrance and scanned my whole closet trying to figure out what I was going to wear.
Yeah, that’s it, I thought to myself as I walked over and took the white sundress off of the wire hanger and walked it over to my bed. Laying it across my bed, I thought about what I wanted to wear with it.
Uhm, I thought as I walked back into my closet, picked some all-white wedge heels and also some gold bangles and gold earrings.
Slipping the big t-shirt over my head, I walked over to my panty drawer and pulled out an all-white lace thong. I couldn’t wear a bar because the dress was very low cut. I decided to also put on a gold body chain that dangled in between my breast.
I was now dressed and had put a few wand curls in my hair just to give it a few waves. Picking up my cute little clear, over the shoulder purse, I grabbed my keys and phone and headed out of my apartment and down to my car.
I was now in my car with the music blasting as I danced in my seat. I was really in a good mood; however, I found myself thinking about Brynlee and wondering how she was doing back in New York. I really wished that she would have picked up for me so that we could talk, but I couldn’t keep trying and allowing her to spit in my face.
Sighing, I continued to dance and sing to the music as I drove to my mother’s house.
Ugh. I frowned when I pulled up to my mother’s house and saw that my auntie was here. I swear I didn’t know who was worse, her or my mother. But the funny thing was, they both couldn’t stand each other.
Pulling alongside of the road, I got out and made my way up to her home. The house was the same one I had grown up in. It wasn’t a brick home or anything like that and if it hadn’t been for me helping her get it repainted and upgraded on the inside, it would most likely look a mess.
Taking in a deep breath once I got to the screen door, I took off my shades and entered the house.
“Look what the devil decided to bring in.” My aunt Bertha giggled as she eyed me up and down, most likely getting ready to say something about what I had on.
“Hey Ma,” I ignored my aunt and turned and greeted my mother, who was in her normal spot.
I swear to God she was glued to that seat. Anytime you came to her house, that was where she was, which would probably explain why she had gained so much weight. She wasn’t doing anything with her life besides looking for a handout and depending on the check she got from the government once a month.
“Hey daughter, what brings you by here? You got something for me?” she asked as she sat up and smiled at me.
“Yeah here.” I reached into my purse and pulled out two hundred dollars and handed it to her. She quickly counted through the twenty-dollar bills and stuck them in her bra.
“What you got for me?” my aunt asked with her hand out.
I looked at her hand as if it was infected, with my nose in the air.
“I don’t have nothing for you,” I answered, turning my attention back to my mother.
“Where all the kids at?” I asked my mother Maranda.
“I know this heffa didn’t. Come up in here looking like she need to be on somebody corner but have the nerves to have her noise in the air,” my aunt, of course, had to say something that was going to aggravate me.
“Don’t y’all two start now,” my mother quickly spoke up because she knew I was only seconds away from getting on my aunt’s ass.
“But the kids are in them damn rooms somewhere, doing God knows what,” my mother expressed as she sat back in the chair, crossed her feet and started flipping through the channels.
Huffing, I made my way through the house to see what everybody else was up to. Peeking into my cousin Channel and Breshia’s room, one of them was laid across the bed on their phone and the other one was sitting on the floor, painting her toenails.
I felt sorry for the both of them because they settled for being stuck in this damn house. They weren’t even trying to level up and explore shit outside of this three-bedroom house.
“What are y’all doing up in here?” I asked, barging in.
“Merci.” Channel jumped up and ran up to me, as to Breshia who looked over her shoulders at me, rolled her eyes and went back to being locked into her phone.
“Hey Channel and hey Breshia,” I hollered Breshia’s name a little louder since it seemed like she had an attitude.
I didn’t know why, but Breshia hated me ever since I moved out of the house. The day I left she cried like a baby and it made me feel so bad. She was only fourteen at the time; however, ever since then, she hated me, when we used to be really close.
“Well I was just checking on y’all.” I smiled and gave Channel a tight hug and began to walk out of their room when I bumped into my mother’s boyfriend’s fat ass.
I never liked his ass. It was just something about him that rubbed me the wrong way. The way he creeped throughout the house, observing everything. He didn’t really talk much, and I never knew why in the fuck my mother had chosen to date him for as long as she did. I was convinced that something was mentally wrong with him.
I remembered when she first brought him home, he scared the hell out of all of
us. I never trusted to be alone around him. I mean, no, he never tried nothing towards me, and I had never heard him fucking with my cousins, but I felt better being away from him.
Mugging him as I walked past him, I was now back in the living room, and was happy to see my aunt was gone.
“Well Mom, I’m out. I got someone to meet,” I let her know as I looked down at my watch.
It was almost time for me to meet Grey and I couldn’t wait.
“Alright baby. See you later,” she answered, never taking her eyes off of the TV.
Leaving out the house, I was almost in my car when Channel came outside.
“Hey Merci, call me when you get a chance,” she stated, dropping a piece of paper with her number on it in my hand.
“Ok.” I looked skeptical, but before I could ask her why, she jetted back in the house at the sound of my mother yelling at her.
I took the piece of paper and put it inside of my purse and headed home, so that I could get ready for my date with my man.
It was now a little after seven and I was looking fine as fuck. I had oiled my chocolate skin down from head to toe. I had straightened my weave bone straight and it was effortlessly flowing with every turn I made.
I had picked out this sexy ass silver dress, that was actually knee length, but the two slits on the side went all the way up to my hips. It was really sexy. It also wrapped around my neck and dipped low in the back. I was showing a lot of skin tonight but that was ok. I knew Grey was going to be gone for a few days, so I wanted to make sure he left knowing what he was leaving behind and for him to be on his best behavior.
Sitting on my bed, I picked up my clear, strapped heels and placed them on my feet. I then got up and placed a few silver rings on my finger and a bracelet. I dabbed a little bit of shiny body butter onto me and sprayed myself down in my favorite Chanel perfume.
I was now ready to go, right as my phone rang. Smiling so hard that my cheeks were causing my eyes to close, I answered my phone.
