Amelia’s eyes filled with tears as she continued to nod. “Good kid. You’re a good kid,” she said.
I was far from a kid, but I didn’t say that out loud.
“I think we should go take a look at those Hentry seeds of yours, see if I can help them grow.”
“Absolutely. And they’re not the only thing that needs your help. I’ve ordered some seeds from Africa, too. I think you’ll like them,” she said excitedly and stood up.
Laughing, I followed. “Let’s just take it one at a time, okay?”
“You did say that you were going to make up for nearly breaking down my house,” Amelia said.
She looked so happy, the look on her face filled my empty chest with warmth.
“I did,” I said, chuckling. “I definitely did.”
It felt good to be there. It also felt wonderful to know that I’d made the right decision. Julian Walker was going to be in my mind and heart forever, though the fairy realm wasn’t for me. I was an Earth witch, through and through. I was also an Earth fairy, too, and damn proud of it. It was time to show the world that everything was not what it seemed, and I was going to do that one step at a time. Whatever tomorrow had in store for me, I was ready.
