Something Different Page 5

“Which room?” Sebastian asked in a husky, lust-filled voice.

“1403, about halfway down the hall.” Her voice was breathless and raspy. She looked down to her clutch and dug for her room key as she started toward the room.

Sebastian’s hands were all over her as she tried unsuccessfully to get the keycard into the lock. His hard cock pressed against her lower back as she reinserted the card a third time and cursed when the light remained red. Catching her hands, Sebastian pulled the card out of the lock, turned it around, then reinserted it. He sighed into her ear as the light turned green. He pushed the door open and followed her inside.

As the door closed behind him, Bas found himself with his back forced up against it. With one hand pressed against his thundering heart, MacKenzie used the other to slip off her shoes, then the feathered headband. Shooting him a mischievous grin that reached all the way to her bright green eyes, she used her grip on his tie to pull him in for a kiss.

With his hands at her waist, he lifted her until she could wrap her legs around him. His fingers found the zipper to her dress and slowly pulled it down the length of her back, allowing it to pool at her waist. Those perfect tits were encased in a sheer black bra, and he sent a silent prayer of thanks to the lingerie gods.

Bas anchored her against the wall. As his hands came up to cup her breasts, she busied herself with removing his jacket and unbuttoning his shirt. Once those were gone, his hands began a sensual exploration, and he dove in for more of her sweet kisses.

MacKenzie let her hands wander over every inch of hot, hard flesh she’d uncovered. Pulling her lips away from his, she called out. “Fuck me.” She rocked herself against his erection to drive her point home while latching onto his neck, leaving her mark behind.

“Mmm . . . soon.” He answered her grind with his own. “Want to”—he nibbled and sucked at her collarbone—“make sure you’re ready.” Sliding a hand under her ass, he searched for the moist heat between her legs.

“It’s been five years.” A long, drawn-out moan tore from her as two strong fingers rubbed at her nub through her wet panties. “I was ready in the elevator.” Pressing her body down onto his fingers and rotating her hips, she felt the layers still between them. Her hand grasped at his belt and fumbled with the buckle.

Sebastian grabbed her ass with both hands and crushed her to his chest, halting her attack on his belt with a fierce growl. “Bedroom.”

“No time. Here. Right here.” Her arms snaked up his body and wrapped around his neck. She continued her grind on his hard shaft, panting a plea before crushing her lips to his.

Sebastian carried her to the dining table. He set her down, then worked on his pants as MacKenzie raised her hips to slide her dress and panties down her legs. She leaned back on her elbows, the picture of wanton pleasure, she hoped. Reaching into his pocket, Sebastian pulled out a strip of condoms, tore one off, and tossed the rest onto the table beside her. She watched, fascinated as he worked the condom over his hard shaft. He held the base with one hand and braced the other beside MacKenzie's head. She felt him position the head at her entrance. She stared into his eyes as he gave her a soft kiss. “Ready, love?”

Not waiting for an answer, he thrust his full length into her moist, tight cunt and held himself there. He pulled back until he was just at her entrance, then gave her another forceful thrust. Standing to his full height, he hooked her legs over his arms, grabbed the front of her thighs firmly, and began a punishing rhythm.

“Yes! Don’t stop! Right there . . . oh!” She watched as he withdrew and rammed back in. “Oh, oh, harder . . . so good!”

His eyes fixated on her breasts as they bounced with every thrust. She moved her hand between them, pressing her palm hard against her clit and wrapping her fingers around his shaft.

“Fuck, Kenz . . . argh!” A thrust. “So good.” A thrust. “So perfect.” A roll of his hips. “MINE!” He attacked her mouth, forcing his tongue inside, matching the thrust of his cock.

MacKenzie felt the pleasure rising inside her, a spark igniting in her core and spreading into a fire throughout her body. She tore her mouth from his, arched her back into his touch, and screamed out his name, finding her release as he spilled his into the condom. He collapsed on top of her sweaty, panting body. His forehead rested on hers as their rapid breathing mixed in the scarce space between their lips.

“That was amazing.” Breathless, MacKenzie ran her fingers up and down his back. “We should do that again.” Her eyes half-lidded, she smiled.

He gave her a playful kiss on the tip of her nose. “Aye, just give me a half hour to recharge.” With a light peck to her lips, he walked naked into the kitchen area. What a sight that was!

“Mac,” she blurted out as she shuffled to stand. “My friends call me Mac or MacKenzie. No one has ever called me Kenz.” Bending down to pick her dress up, she felt him come up behind her, still naked.

“Leave the dress. You won’t be needing it.” His hands found the fastening of her bra. “Or this.” He dropped it to join the rest of their clothing on the floor. His hands came up to cup both tits, kneading them, running his thumbs over her hard nipples. “And I’m not calling you Mac, especially while I'm fucking you. Besides, I like Kenz much better.” Another firm squeeze. “These are perfect. They fit just right.” Pulling her against his chest, he asked, “Now, where is your bedroom?”

“The room on the right.” She relaxed against him, relishing the warm afterglow of their coupling.

She felt her need rising again from his attention and reached over to grab the condoms. “Looks like we have a lot of work to do.” Turning in his embrace, she draped her arms over his shoulders, raised up on her tiptoes, and gave him a light peck. She started to back away with the condoms held up in one hand, using her other to beckon him with a come-hither finger and a coy grin.

He caught her by the waist, hoisted her over his shoulder, and gave her plump bottom a sharp swat. “Challenge accepted!” He walked briskly to the bedroom.

“Sebastian! Put me down!” Her small fist on his back was like beating on a brick wall. “Omph!” She found herself on the bed, staring up at him. The look in his eyes caused a shiver to run throughout her body.

“It’s Bas. My friends call me Bas, and we have definitely crossed the friend line.” He crawled onto the bed and over her body. “Now, my lady, I plan to spend the next several hours getting to know every single inch of your body.” He lowered his mouth to hers, catching a moan as it left her.

The sun was shining brightly through the window as Sebastian lay on his back watching Kenz sleep on his chest. Her head rested over his heart, a small hand tucked under her chin. Slow, even breaths puffed out of her slightly parted lips, tickling his chest. He brushed away the hair that had fallen over her face, his thumb gently caressing her cheek. He smiled at the soft purr she released as she started to shift and stretch. Her eyes cracked open just a bit. A yawn stretched her mouth, and he couldn’t help remembering how that same mouth had stretched over his cock just a few short hours before, bringing him to the edge of bliss.

“Good morning, beautiful.” He blew her a kiss and watched a grin form at her lips then turn into a laugh.

“Good morning, Bas.” She turned her face down, shook her head, and left a kiss behind. She scooted farther up his chest to drop a light peck on his lips. “You’re sweet, but I am far from beautiful.” She rolled her eyes and shot him a disbelieving look.

“You are beautiful, and we’re not going to argue about it. You are just going to agree with me and smile that sweet little smile of yours.” He slid his thumb along her plump lower lip, stopped in the center, and teasingly poked the tip in and out.

  “Fine, whatever.”

“I knew you’d see it my way.” He rolled them over so she was on her back. He used one of his legs to open hers and slotted himself into the space. “Now how about we take up where we left off before our little nap th
ere?” He lifted an eyebrow. Reaching for the bedside table, he let out a frustrated groan.

  “What’s wrong?”

“You wouldn’t happen to have any condoms, would you?” He looked down at her with a frown.

“Uh, no. I wasn’t planning on . . .” She bit her lip. “I don’t normally do this.” Blowing out a frustrated breath of her own, she looked up at him, her face full of remorse.

“I’m clean. I have a card.” He pushed up on his arms to look around. “Have you seen my phone?”

“I think it may be out there with your clothes. I was more concerned with pregnancy, hadn’t thought of . . .” He could see the heat of her embarrassment making her cheeks a lovely shade of pink.

“Ah, I see. Well, I could always withdraw—”

“No!” Her eyes met his, and her face went pale. Her breathing became rapid and her voice took on a panicked tone. “Absolutely not. That’s how Jase came about.” She shook her head vigorously and pushed at his chest. “Get out from there.” She pushed harder and tried to squirm farther up the bed.

Snatching up her hands, he sat back on his heels. He tried to keep his voice as low and calm as possible. “Relax. You’re shaking.” He moved to lie alongside her. Resting one arm at her waist, he leaned on his other elbow. “It’s okay.”

She let out a slow breath, and he leaned down to kiss her forehead. He felt her starting to relax, her breath coming slower now. He raised his hand and brushed away a lone tear with the pad of his thumb.

MacKenzie let out a shaky breath. “I’m sorry, I don’t usually do this. I never do this,” she whispered, turning her face away from him.

“Do what, love?” Sebastian asked quietly while gently caressing her belly.

“Sleep with someone on the first date.” She paused a moment, squeezing her eyes shut for a moment. “I . . . Jason was my . . . I’ve only . . .” Cheeks blushing, she bit her lip before groaning. “I’ve only ever been with Jason.”

Did she just say what I think she said? How is that possible? Oh, right, she expects me to answer. Sebastian forced his body to relax. Squeezing her tighter to him, he said the only thing he could think of at the moment. “How does that even happen? Just one other person? That’s impossible.” He immediately knew it was the exact wrong thing to say.

MacKenzie raised herself onto her knees, wrapping the sheet around her body. There was a fierce look in her eyes. “Impossible? I met Jason when I was fourteen, and he was my first. We were together for twenty-six years, married for twenty. When do you think I could—”

With a soft kiss, he shut off her words. No further explanation was needed. He was an arse, such a huge arse. “I get it. I’m an arse. Forgive me.” He pulled her close, placed a light kiss to her temple, and thought a change of subject might help relieve her fury a bit. “It appears we do have to leave this room today, and for that I will require my clothing. I believe it’s all out there.” He nodded his head in the direction of the door, only then realizing it was partially open.

Following his gaze, MacKenzie let out a groan. “Oh shit, I hope Ella didn’t hear anything. Why didn’t you shut the door?” She shot him a scolding look before getting out of bed and searching for something to throw on. “I’ll be right back.”

Still tying her robe, she flinched as she heard the door to the suite open and close. Without looking back, she went into the sitting area and started gathering up clothes. MacKenzie made a beeline for the pile by the table, quickly snatching it up and turning back to the bedroom.

Ella cleared her throat. “Well, looks like someone had a good time last night.” Her tone was cocky and getting closer with every word.

“Shut it.” Without turning around to face her daughter, she walked to the bedroom, threw the clothes in, and shut the door tight. When she finally turned, she saw Ella was still dressed for the ball. She could not hold back the laugh that burst out of her at the look on Ella’s face. “Are you just getting back?”

“Yes, and don’t try to change the subject. So how was he?” Her Cheshire Cat grin was complemented by her comically bobbing eyebrows.

“We are not discussing this. Ever.” She went to the kitchen for a glass of juice. “If you want to be useful, you can call down to room service for some coffee. That would be sweet.”

“Great. We won’t discuss your night or my night, and I’ll order coffee and pastries.” Ella picked up the phone and dialed room service.

Sebastian walked up behind MacKenzie, wrapped his arms around her waist, and peered over her shoulder. “Is there coffee?”

“The coffee is on its way.” The voice came from behind him. He turned to face Ella, then she asked, “So are you gonna be my new daddy?” He spun back around, quickly slapping MacKenzie’s back as she choked on her juice.

As MacKenzie turned to face Bas, there were tears running down her red face. She tried to catch her breath. “Oh God, I’m so sorry. She just . . . she has no filter. I swear she lives for shock value.”

Sebastian chuckled, he held her chin between his thumb and forefinger and raised her face to meet his gaze. “She’s fun.” He leaned down to kiss the pout off her lips. “Have you seen my shirt, shoes, and socks?”

“Over here. I found them on my way in, like a trail of breadcrumbs right to the table.” Standing on the other side of the breakfast bar, Ella waved a hand toward the chair she laid his clothes on. “Coffee is on the way up here. I’m going to bed. See ya later.”

After a few cups of coffee, Bas spoke up. “So, are we still doing the museum date today? I could run home, change, and be back here by three.” He really didn’t want to leave her side.

“No, they close at like four or five, I think. I don’t want to rush through it. Tomorrow morning would be better.”

“Right, I see your point. I should probably head home anyway. I have a few errands that need doing. I’m going to need your number before I go.”

“Oh, of course. Here, gimme your phone.” Taking his phone, she entered her contact information and sent a quick text to herself. “There, now I can add you too.”

“Brilliant. So, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow morning? Around ten, is that good?”

“Sounds perfect.” She leaned forward to kiss him. “I just want to thank you for a wonderful evening. I haven’t had so much fun in years.” Whispering in his ear, she added, “And I’m not just talking about our fun in here, though that was . . . so much more than fun.” She leaned back and gave him a playful smile.

“You’re making it very hard for me to leave you.” He stood, tilted her chin up, and laid his goodbye kiss on her lips. “I will call you later.” Another kiss. She walked him to the door, collecting one more kiss before he finally forced himself to walk away.

Standing in the elevator with his back against the wall, he closed his eyes, running all the different ways he could get her to stay through his head and coming up empty every time. “This is bullshit,” he said aloud to the empty space. “I want her. I want this to go somewhere. How? She’ll be gone in forty-eight hours. Fuck. This blows.”

  Chapter 6

MacKenzie sat at the breakfast bar with a fresh cup of coffee and her cell phone. She opened her text messages, clicked the one she had sent from Sebastian’s phone, and added him as a contact. With a giggle, she set his ringtone to “Good Morning Beautiful” by Steve Holy. She laughed out loud at the memory of a few hours before.

The next text was a picture of Ella, Rudy, and six kids she didn’t know, captioned BEST NYE EVA! MacKenzie had to agree; it had been a wicked good night. A deliciously wicked night. She smiled to herself and moved onto the next text. This picture was captioned Aww with a slew of hearts and kiss emojis. She studied the picture, a silhouette of her and Bas dancing in the moonlit garden with the London skyline illuminated in the background. The wheels in her brain started turning, and a smile broke across her face. She saved the picture and opened Facebook.

  Happy New Y
ear!

Remember that bachelor auction I kept complaining about? Turns out it wasn't such a bad thing. I think I’m ready for something different.

After choosing a few emojis, she attached the picture and posted it before she lost her nerve. New year. New me. New something. Sighing, she set her mug on the room service tray and started toward her bedroom.

A few hours later, MacKenzie sat curled up in the corner of the overstuffed sofa, fully immersed in one of her favorite romance novels, Playing For Keeps. A cup of tea and a plate of scones sat untouched on the table beside her, the tea most likely cold by now. Just as she was getting to the part where John and Fergus finally pull their heads out of their asses and realize they belong together, Ella walked into the room and leaned against the sofa with one hip.
