  The moon story

Somewhere in a large city, there was living the informatical engineer Pjer with his family. His wife’s name was Pjereta and his son’s was Carlo. Since his earliest childhood he had taught his son the secrets of informatics. When Carlo was only twelve years old, he carried the newest laptop with him and sent messages to children of his age around the whole world. The engineer’s family had a beautiful small house on the top of the mountain, which name was the Spring Mountain. Their summer house had a large covered balcony, and during the warm, star-lit nights Carlo was sleeping there very often.

One night, Carlo suddenly woke up and beside his bed he saw a curious individual, dressed in a silvery suit. He caressed his head and said: ”Don’t be afraid, Carlo! I came from that wonderful moon which is shining so beautifully. I want to ask you to come with me and help my silvery people.”

Carlo was astonished, but he agreed. The silvery man showed him how to stand on a golden discus that took them on a yellow ray and then with great speed to the moon. When they arrived on the moon the silver man guided him into a large hall. There were old men dressed in silver suits and siting at a table shaped like a new moon. They had long ears and no hair. The man sitting on the honourous position addressed him in a metal voice: “Welcome, Carlo! We sent a runner to bring you here, because you are the only man who can save our people from the terrible underground people. You are the only one who has the knowledge to do this. Their leader Arnold wants to destroy us and take our little princess, the most beautiful blond Ines with blue eyes, to be his wife.”

They took him into another room. There was Ines, a girl of his age, who was crying so bitterly that Carlo got a lump in his throat. He felt sorrow for her.

“Please, don’t cry. Calm down and we will think how to solve this problem,” said Carlo.

Carlo took his laptop and started to search for a way to contact Arnold. Suddenly, he remembered a game of space ships races and said: “That’s the right idea! I will challenge Arnold to a duel with space ships and if I win the game, he will listen to everything I say.”

“Excellent,” said Ines. She guided Carlo back into the large hall where he explained his idea to the old silver people.

“That’s a good idea. It is the only possibility to save us,” said the silver men.

They sent a runner to bring a message to Arnold. He laughed at it, but excepted Carlo’s challenge. They decided that the duel should take place in the Moon valley. The whole race should be seen on a large screen. Carlo’s ship should be blue and Arnold’ red.

The silver people watched the whole race sitting in their chairs, and the underground people watched it through the telescopes.

Carlo sat on his place and put his laptop on the table. Looking left, he got terrible frightened when he saw a monster with eight sharp nails instead of hands and with tree roots instead of legs. He had windows with dark glasses instead of eyes. He had no mouth and spoke through ears which were smoking with every word he said. This monster had a laptop, too, but it was made of a mixture of mud and stone.

The signal was given and the race of space ships began. They went through various obstacles, magnetic eruptions and energy shields. Carlo’s ship led the game the whole time. Arnold got furious, increased the speed and threw all the remaining energy into his laptop. His laptop got red-hot and fell into hundred pieces. Arnold covered his window with his long nails and began crying. Big muddy lumps were running down his nails.

“You can ask and do whatever you want. You are the winner.”-Arnold said sobbing. Carlo touched his shoulder and said. ”Calm down. Go back to your underground and live happily with your people and don’t disturb the silver men again.”

Arnold behaved as Carlo had told him without saying a word. The silver people celebrated Carlo’s victory the whole night. After the celebration they dropped Carlo down on the gold discus and along the moon ray. When he awoke in the morning he found himself on his balcony and it seemed to him as if he had dreamed a beautiful dream.

Therefore, children and you grownups, when you see the full moon reach your arms towards his yellow trace. Perhaps you will find yourself on the Moon, where the silver people will welcome you because they are still grateful to Carlo and his help.

  Have sweat dreams!
