  He chuckled. “Good.”

“I don’t think I want you to go slow, though.”

  “Your pace, Catalina.”

  I nodded. “I’m ready.”

Silas leaned down to kiss me, and I slid my hands under his shirt and up his back.

  “Take this off,” I demanded.

  “Quid pro quo, baby.”

I unbuttoned my blouse, pulling it from my jeans, and leaving it to gape open while he reached behind his head and tugged off his T-shirt.

I couldn’t stop a little gasp from escaping at the sight of his bare chest. God, he was perfection. I’d always thought of Silas as Michelangelo’s David, if David had worked out like a mother fucker on the daily.

“Fuck me, you’re beautiful,” he rasped.

“So are you.” I reached out and ran my fingers over his Dogs of Fire tattoo on his right pec. He’d had it forever, but it still looked like new. Goosebumps spread over his skin and I met his eyes with a smile. “Cold?”

  “Turned on,” he countered.

I nodded and he slipped my blouse down my arms where I let it fall to the floor. He then unsnapped the front of my bra and I couldn’t seem to stop myself from laying my hands over my breasts as they were released.

“Don’t hide,” he ordered, and I took a deep breath before lowering my arms.

He cupped my breasts and rolled my nipples under his thumbs and my body shivered as desire flooded my body.

“Jesus,” he whispered. “You are perfect.” His hands went to the waistband of my jeans, tugging me closer. “How ya doin’?”

I licked my lips. “I’m good.”

“Uncle Shutter?” Nova called, knocking on the bedroom door.

“No, no, no,” I whispered, glaring at the door.

Silas sighed. “I’ll take care of her. You get naked.”

  I chuckled. “Yes, sir.”

He pulled his T-shirt back over his head and walked out the door and I took a second to get naked and spritz on a little perfume, dipping into the bathroom to brush my teeth quickly. Wrapping my robe around me, Silas walked back into the room just as I tied the sash.

  “I said naked,” he admonished.

I waved my finger toward him in a circular motion. “Quid pro quo.”

He grinned and locked the door again, quickly divesting himself of all of his clothes, except his boxer briefs. God, he was gorgeous. It’s not like I hadn’t seen him in a pair of board shorts on the rare trips we’d taken to Tybee Island with the club, but this was different.

He’d never had a raging hard-on when we’d been at the beach. At least, none that I’d noticed. I licked my lips and took a deep breath. “Are you real?”

“Why don’t you come over here and find out?”

  “Is Nova down?”

“Out like a light,” he promised.

I closed the distance between us and slid my hands up his chest. “You didn’t Nyquil her, right?”

“No.” He chuckled. “Tempting, but no.”

  “Is she okay?”

“Yeah. She said there were ghost noises, but it was her vent. I opened it all the way and the noises stopped.”

“Hero to the nth degree,” I breathed out, kissing him gently.

He slid his hand to my sash and tugged it, releasing the material in his hand… just as Nova, called out, “Auntie Cat?”

I groaned, dropping my forehead to Silas’s chest. “Yeah, baby?”

  “I’m cold.”

“Okay, honey, I’ll be right there.” I looked up at him and grimaced. “We can’t do this now.”

He sighed and nodded. “We’ll find our time, baby.”

I kissed him quickly, resecured my robe, then went to help Nova.

  * * *

My alarm clock clicked on, Bon Jovi blaring through the speaker for less than three seconds. I felt the bed dip, then the crash of plastic, and I sat up, only to be pulled back down and kissed for all I was worth.

“What are you doing in my bed?” I growled up at him.

Silas grinned. “Been here all night, baby.”

  “You have?”

He buried his face in my neck and chuckled. “Hell, yeah. Not goin’ anywhere neither, so don’t even try.”

“Well, if you’re gonna stay, you need to promise not to break my alarm clock. How else am I going to make it to work on time?”

“Pick a different station,” he ordered, kissing me again. “None of that butt rock shit.”

  “I like Bon Jovi.”

“I know,” he said, only he sounded disgusted. “I’ll try not to hold it against you.”

“I have morning breath,” I said, turning my head when he tried to kiss me again.

“So do I. Who the fuck cares?”

His mouth covered mine and I couldn’t help myself from sliding my hands up his bare chest and looping them behind his neck.

He kissed his way down my chest, sliding my cami up and over my breasts where he drew a nipple into his mouth, then blew on it, causing it to tighten into a hard bud. He gave it a little nip, then he moved to my other one before moving his mouth lower, pressing his face between my legs.

“Silas, I need to get in the shower.”

His response was to slide my panties down far enough to be able to run his tongue over my clit.

“Oh, god,” I breathed out, arching into his touch.

“Cat, are you okay?” Nova asked through the door.

“Just a minute, Nova,” I called.

“I locked the door,” Silas said, smiling up at me from between my legs. “I’m gonna finish this.”

  “I think we should—”

He cut me off by sucking gently on my clit.

  “Si—”

He slipped a finger inside of me, then two, and I nearly bucked off the bed. I had never been touched like this and he was beyond skilled with his mouth.

  “Cat?” Nova called again.

“Nova, go brush your teeth,” Silas growled. “We’ll be out in a minute.”

  “Is Cat okay?”

“I’m fine, baby,” I panted out as Silas focused back to my pussy. “We’ll be right out, okay? Go brush your teeth.”

Silas slid two fingers inside of me and pumped slowly, then faster and faster as I hooked my legs over his shoulders. I arched into him, fisting my sheets in my hands as an orgasm rolled through me. It was slow and gentle, something I’d never experienced before and I took a deep, shuddering breath as I came.

Silas ran his tongue through my folds, practically licking me clean, then kissed the inside of my thighs before kissing his way up my body, ending with my mouth. “Good morning.”

I chuckled, weaving my fingers in his hair. “Morning.”

“Cat?” Nova called again. “I brushed my teeth.”

I closed my eyes. “Good job, baby. I’ll be right out.”

“We’re gonna find our time,” Silas promised.

I sighed. “You keep saying that.”

He grinned, kissing me again. “Go give Nova proof of life.”

I nodded and slid off the mattress, grabbing my robe as I made my way to the door. I unlocked it and pulled it open. “Hey, baby.”

“I thought you were hurt,” she said, her eyes teary.

“Oh, baby, no.” I knelt in front of her, pulling her in for a hug. “Uncle Shutter’s here. Who would hurt me?”

  She shrugged.

“You know Uncle Shutter would never hurt me… or you, right?”

She bit her lip. “I think so.”

“I promise with all my heart, he would never ever hurt either one of us.”

  “What if he did?”

“If he did, then I’d call Uncle Shadow and he’d kick his butt.”

  Nova giggled.

“But I really want to make sure you feel comfortable, honey. Does Uncle Shutter scare you?”

She shook her head. “I love Uncle Shutter.”

“Then why would you think he was hurting me?”

  Sh
e shrugged, dropping her head. “Sorry.”

I lifted her chin. “Baby, don’t ever feel bad about how you feel. But I really want to make sure that you’re okay with Shutter being here. He will go if you feel unsafe.”

  “No, he has to stay.”

“Are you sure you feel safe with him here?” She was all over the map with her thoughts, which I fully understood, so I sat quietly and waited.

  “Mama’s friends were mean.”

  “They were?”

She nodded. “But they were nice sometimes.”

“That must have been very confusing.”

  “Will Uncle Shutter turn mean?”

“Never, baby,” I rushed out. “Even if he growls sometimes, he will never, ever be mean. And if you are ever scared, you tell me, or him, okay? You have the right to tell him how you feel.”

She bit her lip. “He won’t get mad?”

“I won’t get mad,” Silas said, walking out of the bedroom and kneeling in front of her. Apparently, he’d been listening behind the door. “I promise you can tell me anything. I won’t ever be mad.”

She gripped my shoulder, like I was helping her be brave. “I don’t like it when you sound growly.”

“I will try very hard not to be growly, baby,” Silas promised.

She loosened her hold on me and nodded.

I stroked her cheek. “Are you hungry?”

She bobbed her head up and down.

“I’ll make breakfast,” Silas said. “Auntie Cat has to get ready for work.”

“Can we have pancakes?” Nova asked.

  “Please,” I prompted.

“Pwease?” she said, batting her little eyelashes at Silas, her fear seeming to have quickly disappeared.

“Yeah, baby girl, we can have pancakes.”

He took her hand and led her down the hall while I headed to my bathroom to shower.

  CHAPTER TEN

  Catalina

I WALKED IN from work, more tired than I had been in weeks, but feeling strangely energized. It had been a long day, made longer by the fact I couldn’t wait to get home and get Silas naked again.

He’d made pancakes and I’d taken a few quick bites before I had to go, but he’d stopped me before I walked out the door.

“Swear to Christ, baby, we’ll get our time.”

I stroked his cheek. “I’m gonna hold you to that.”

He kissed me again and I headed to my car.

Now I was walking back into my home, made even more of one by Silas, and I arrived to find it empty.

  “Silas?” I called. “Nova?”

No one was here, so I pulled out my cell to call Silas, noticing my phone was dead. “Shit.”

I dropped my purse on the counter and grabbed my charger, plugging my phone in. It was too drained to power up, so I grabbed my laptop and logged on to find Silas had texted me twenty minutes ago to let me know he was taking Nova to the barn.

There were three other messages, each one increasing in intensity, of him unhappy I wasn’t responding to him. I was typing out a message to him just as I heard the door slam.

  “Catalina!” Silas growled.

“I’m here,” I said, making my way to him.

“Jesus, woman, you scared the shit out of me. Where the hell’s your phone?”

“It’s dead,” I rushed out. “I’m sorry, honey, it’s been acting up for a few weeks. Rabbit got me set up so I could pair my phone with my laptop, so I was just sending you a message.”

His hand went to my neck and he tugged me to him, kissing the top of my head. “Gettin’ you a new phone, pronto.”

“Yeah,” I breathed out, sliding my hands under his cut and up his back. “Sorry I worried you.”

“I’m just glad you’re okay,” he said. “How was your day?”

“It was long.” I smiled up at him. “Where’s Nova?”

“At the club. Willow’s keepin’ an eye out.”

  “For how long?” I asked.

“As long as we need her to.”

I bit my lip. “So, we’re all alone?”

He smiled slowly. “We are absolutely all alone.”

I tugged on his belt. “Then, get naked.”

“Yes, ma’am.” He slid his cut off, laying it reverently over the back of the recliner, then pulled off his black Henley, dropping it to the floor.

“God, you are beautiful,” I breathed out, kissing his chest.

  He chuckled. “You are too.”

“You certainly make me feel beautiful.”

He cupped my cheek. “You are the most beautiful person I know, Catalina. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had, and I need you to know that I honor that. I honor you.”

I nodded, sliding my hands up his chest. “Same.”

  “I love you.”

I smiled. “I love you too.”

His mouth covered mine and he wrapped his arms around me, lifting me off my feet.

  “Do not break your ba—”

“Shut it,” he warned, guiding my legs around his waist, and carrying me down the hall.

I had never been carried. It was both awe-inspiring and terrifying at the same time. I was terrified my weight would break him, but he didn’t even lose a breath as he kissed me the whole walk to my bedroom.

He dropped me gently onto the bed, unzipping my pants and tugging them down my legs, my panties going with them.

He set a knee on the bed between my legs and hovered over me. “I’m gonna make you come, baby, then I’m gonna fuck you.”

  “Yes, please.”

  “You wanna stop, we’ll stop.”

I cupped his face. “I won’t want to stop, Silas.”

He slid his nose over mine, then kissed me again before moving down my body. He stepped off the bed just long enough to remove the rest of his clothes and I took a moment to do the same, leaning up on my arms to watch him.

  He was magnificent.

His muscular, olive skin, not to mention a chest void of tattoos other than his Dogs of Fire club logo over his right pec, made me crazy. I licked my lips and he grinned.

“You keep lookin’ at me like that, I’m gonna embarrass myself.”

I glanced down at his already hard cock and sighed. “There is nothing you have to be embarrassed about.”

His eyes raked over me. “Back atya.”

He hovered over me again and I reached up to stroke his beard. “I can’t believe this is happening.”

  “You nervous?”

I shook my head. “Excited. Full disclosure… I’ve had several erotic dreams since I met you.”

He chuckled. “You probably don’t wanna know how many times I’ve jacked off imagining you just like this.”

  “You have?”

“Yeah,” he said, smiling. “You’re even prettier buck naked, baby.”

I laughed. “I’ll try to stay out of my head and let that compliment sink in.”

“Good.” He kissed me gently, then moved his way down my body, his beard whispering against my skin and giving me goosebumps.

He drew a nipple into his mouth, then the other before moving to my belly, kissing me gently, then pressing his face against my mound. I slid a leg over his shoulder and arched into him as he sucked my clit gently.

I couldn’t stop a quiet mewl as he worked my body into a frenzy. As he continued to lap at my pussy, he slid a finger inside of me, then two, and I nearly came off the bed.

I wove my fingers into his hair and gripped his scalp as he pumped his fingers into me. “Silas,” I hissed quietly.

“Come, baby.” He sucked gently on my clit, his fingers moving inside of me and I couldn’t hold myself back.

I let out a quiet mew as my walls contracted, and he slid a condom on and then hovered his dick at my entrance. “You ready?”

“God, yes,” I whispered, and he slid into me, slowly at first, stilling until my body got used to his girth.

“Slide a leg around me,” he instructed, and I did immediately.r />
He buried himself deeper and I arched into him, urging him on.

“This is gonna sting,” he warned.

  “I’m ready.”

He thrust hard, and he thrust deep, stilling again as I gripped his shoulders breathing through the pain.

  “Sorry, baby,” he rasped.

  “I’m okay.”

“We’re gonna wait a minute,” he promised, but I shook my head.

“No, I’m good.” I tugged on his hair gently. “I want more.”

  “You sure?”

  “Absolutely.”

“If you want to stop, just say the word.”

  “I will.”

That’s when he started to move, faster and faster, slamming into me until I could no longer hold onto my composure. I screamed out his name as an orgasm rocked through me, my hands going to his back where I dug my nails into his flesh as I came hard and fast.

He wasn’t far behind, a quiet grunt and his dick pulsing inside of me the only indication he’d come, kissing me again as an orgasm continued to pour through me.

Silas rolled us to our sides, facing each other and keeping our connection. “How do you feel?”

“Good.” I ran my finger over his mouth. “I honestly thought it would hurt more.”

He smiled. “It’s my job to make sure it doesn’t, baby.”

“Well, you’re definitely an expert in your field,” I said, and he chuckled.

“I’m gonna slide out so I can get rid of the rubber. It might sting a bit.” I nodded and he rocked his hips back. “Don’t move.”

  “I don’t think I could if I tried.”

He grinned, kissing me gently before heading into the bathroom.

Silas walked back into the room holding a washcloth and settled it gently between my legs. “Just give your body a minute to adjust.”

I nodded, letting the warmth ease my sting as he stretched out beside me, pulling me over his chest.

We stayed this way for several minutes and I almost fell asleep, but then his cell phone buzzed in the pocket of his discarded jeans pulling me out of my love haze.

“Ignore it,” I said on a yawn.

“Might be about Nova,” he said, shifting so he could lean over the side of the mattress and grab his jeans, pulling out his phone and staring at the screen. “Not about Nova.”

I slid my arm over his chest. “Then ignore it.”

He grinned, kissing my temple. “You sore?”
