Erica wondered at the expression on her face when Merilyn walked in and slammed the door shut behind her.
“When will Elliot stop following me around? I’m sick of it. I’m sixteen! I want to be with older, mature boys. He’s like my cousin. Yuck.”
Erica laughed softly but felt sorry for Elliot. He really did have to get over Merilyn. “I can’t say too much, but he won’t be following you around soon enough. You might miss it.”
Merilyn snorted. “Not likely.”
She’s just like her sister. “Fine. Merilyn, are you looking forward to being a bridesmaid?”
She frowned. “Depends on the dress.”
“Don’t be ungrateful!” Julia snapped. “You’ll wear the dress and you’ll like it.”
Erica laughed as they argued, and then they all talked for the rest of the day. That night, Erica was going to see Gareth. She was so looking forward to it.

Gareth lay beside Erica in bed, gazing at her as they held on to each other. He gently kissed her mouth, then her neck, then her collarbone….
“We’ve only just finished,” Erica said, sighing and placing her arms around his bare shoulders.
“Not done yet,” he murmured, then continued moving his mouth over her body.
Erica surrendered to his touch, wondering where in the world he got his energy.
Gareth reached up and kissed her mouth again, cupping the side of her face, then stopped and looked at her. “You’re so sweet. And kind, and forgiving, and perfect. The way you handled all the problems we had when we were away was amazing. I love you so much, and will forever.”
Erica breathed deeply, her heart full. “Show me.”
Gareth grinned. “Gladly,” he said, disappearing under the covers.
Erica giggled, then had no more room for thought as Gareth brought her to ecstasy. Only one notion managed to filter through her mind.
I wonder how to tell him I’m pregnant?
