Pleasing the Messenger

Aeryn turned her face up and accepted his slow, lingering kiss. When his hands slid into her hair, she didn't want to leave him after all. It would hurt worse to go than stay, and hope he didn't encounter some asshole in the forest again.
Race rocked her back and forth for several minutes until she quit crying. He murmured endearments to her and tried to offer what comfort he might. But what could anyone say to a woman who'd lost her only family at the hands of some bastards? He feared he'd lose her if she ever even saw one scrape on him. But there were times he'd have to come across a few morons, and they both knew it. There were those of the criminal ilk who gravitated towards the safety of the forest and the ability to hide there. He'd run across more than he'd tell her about. They'd just never been as violent as those poachers. And the idea that she might be out there on her own suddenly bothered him no end. What he'd said was absolutely true. She could be the one in trouble some day.
"The weather's really that bad outside?” she tearfully asked.
"Yeah. I can't let you drive in that crap."
She pushed her hair back and ran one hand across her forehead. “I'm scared, Race. What if I really start to care for you and something bad happens?"
"What if it doesn't? What if we eat our breakfast and just talk like two normal people who're trying to put a relationship together? And maybe everything will work out just fine. But even if it didn't, sweetness, I wouldn't miss knowing you for all the gold in the world."
She had to smile. “Neither would I. I just don't want to see you get hurt. Not like what I saw in those pictures."
"I'll try not to ever let that happen again. Scared the crap out of me, and my family, too."
Aeryn could certainly relate to that. She was tired of weeping on his shoulder as if she couldn't handle the garbage life had already dished out. She'd panicked. It had been easier to try and get out the door hoping to never see him again than to admit she might be caring for him too much, in such a short time. “Hand me some of that toast before it turns to ice, okay?"
He grinned. “Sure."
She ate her breakfast in silence.
He did the same but kept his body very close to hers. He was trying to lend strength; even if she wasn't sure she wanted it.
When they'd eaten and Race had taken the tray back into the kitchen, Aeryn sat on the arm of the sofa. She tried to assess how close she'd gotten to a man who'd been a perfect stranger. It was so easy to care for him. She'd spilled her guts to him and revealed thoughts she'd never told another person. All in less than twenty-four hours. Fate or some Valentine's Day pixie seemed to have pushed them together and their courses were more or less fixed. When Race walked back into the room with his big hands in his pockets, gazing at her with compassion in his eyes, she couldn't help her response. Aeryn got up, hugged him hard and began to kiss him all over again. How did a guy get so damned sweet?
When the kiss ended, Race gazed down at her and caressed her body. “Margot did me the biggest favour I think I've ever had."
She laughed. “You might not feel that way when you get to know me better."
"Oh, I think I will. In fact, I'm willing to bet on it.” As he spoke those words, Race began to undress her slowly. She didn't stop him. He slid off her coat, then tossed it across the back of the sofa. Her red dress seemed even less substantial today than it had the night before. He let his fingers trail over the silly pink hearts that covered her nipples. Her soft moan had his body responding more readily than it ever had. “I want to take you in the other room and never let you out of bed."
"I don't have to be back until Monday morning. Take me,” she invited, “I'll go.” But she still wasn't sure she could ever come back after this weekend was over. Once there was distance between them, she had a feeling that all this could be put into its proper perspective and she could forget him.
He grabbed her hand and led her down the hall, back to the bedroom. As he pulled off his sweatshirt and jeans, she undressed. The tiny red g-string she wore had his mouth watering. He hadn't seen it on her the night before, but had gotten a brief glance at the little garment after she'd hung it up in the shower to dry. Its brevity was why he'd never seen any panty lines under her little dress. Now, however, he had a good look at the way the strappy little garment hugged her slender hips and the way the centre piece in back rode up between her pretty, rounded butt cheeks. “Don't take that off, yet."
Aeryn glanced down at where his gaze wandered. She lifted her hair and swivelled her hips as she did so. The need to gather all the memories she could with this handsome man was very important. “You want to see me move in this?” she breathlessly asked.
His mouth went dry as she moved. “Yeah, I want everything I can from you. Heart, body and soul, darlin'."
Afraid to give the emotional part of what he wanted, she still walked towards him, swaying her hips as she did so. His eyes lit up with a kind of fire that made her want to melt. She rotated her hips against his abdomen and saw a slow, feral smile widen across his face. “You want some of this?"
Instead of touching her as he was sure she expected, Race simply lay down on the bed and began to stroke himself. “There's a bottle of self-warming lubricant in the bedside table. Get it out and put it on me."
She pulled open the drawer, found the little three ounce bottle and did as he asked. She felt her heart pounding in her chest as she dripped the thick substance over his cock, balls and between his legs. He brought his knees up to his chest, widened them and continued masturbating. The way he was enjoying himself thrilled her. Again, she pressed herself to remember every moment. It was almost time to leave for good. The weekend was almost over.
"Take off that little g-string, nice and slow."
His demand was softly spoken, but she was sure he'd pull it off her if she didn't move quickly. She tossed the lubricant aside, shimmied out of the little piece of fabric then threw it into the seat of an overstuffed chair. That was when Race quit playing with himself and sat up.
He scooted to the edge of the bed, leaned back and murmured, “Mount me. Face the other way and take me in you from behind."
Aeryn stood between his beefy legs, then simply let him guide her onto his shaft. It was the most exquisitely silken feeling. And taking him in from that angle created an entirely new vortex of sensation in her womb. She was able to play with her breasts as he reached around from behind and used some of his lubricant to juice her clit. Aeryn began to slowly lift up and down, using little pulsing motions at first. But soon she was lifting on and off him, almost all the way to his cock's head and back down to its base. “God, that's so good!"
"Keep it up, baby. I'm gonna fill you until you can't hold any more. I'm gonna make you remember every inch."
When he kept encouraging her and running his hands over her body back and down to her clit, Aeryn felt the telltale tightening of her womb, then cried out loudly as the orgasm throbbed through her with the intensity of waves pounding on a soft shore. And when she couldn't stay upright any longer, he pulled her against him and back onto the bed. She felt his seed as it dripped from her vagina, down her thighs.
"Lie on top of me. Let me hold you, Aeryn."
She vaguely heard his voice as a feeling of weariness overcame her. And, for the rest of the weekend, she never put on another stitch of clothing. When Sunday evening came, she was finally dressed and stood by the front door. The sun was now out, and the temperature was climbing. Her desire to escape was tinged with regret that she couldn't have him. But his job and the injury he'd incurred kept bleeding into her brain. Five years of watching her father suffer wasn't an easy picture to get over, and Race might have ended up in the same situation. She kept super-imposing the facts surrounding her father's injury over his. The match was eerily repulsive.
Race leaned into her, hugged her one last time and kissed her hard. When the hot, wet encounter ended, he let her walk out the door armed with his phone number, work schedule and a spare key to his cabin. She'd been
extremely quiet while getting ready to leave, and had only asked once for him not to call unless she contacted him first. He hoped she wouldn't decide to never see him again. But it had to be her choice. He'd said his goodbyes; it was now up to her.
It was three weeks after Valentine's Day when Race exited his truck. Everything in his cabin reminded him of that cold, blustery weekend when a little singing messenger had entered his life. He sullenly walked through his front door, believing Aeryn really had blown off their budding relationship. As usual, he was alone. He hated it. With slow deliberation, he walked into the kitchen. A sudden aroma of spicy food filled the air and startled him. Glancing through the window of his oven, it was obvious where the wonderful smell was coming from. Someone had shoved in a large pan of homemade lasagne inside.
Aeryn saw him slowly stand and turn to face her. It was almost as if he'd sensed her presence.
Race could only gape at the beauty before him. Aeryn had large scarlet-coloured, velvety hearts pasted on her breasts and down over the brown curls between her shapely, slender thighs. “What the..."
"The last time I was here, I forgot something,” she interrupted. “I only remembered it when I got back to my apartment. I was supposed to bring you a Valentine card from your ex-girlfriend, telling you to get lost.” Aeryn slowly walked towards him. “Well, I threw that away, and decided I'd bring you a belated Valentine's greeting of my own. From me to you."
He couldn't help the broad grin that spread across his face. His gaze took in all the soft, slender flesh and he felt his penis harden in response. “What was the name of that place you work for again?"
"Hearts of Extinction."
"And you don't deliver messages dressed like this to anyone else, do you?” he softly asked.
She slowly smiled and shook her head in denial. “Not on your life."
Race opened his arms wide, inviting her to come into them. “Pretend I'm an envelope and lick me closed."
Aeryn laughed and jumped up into his embrace. No imaginary scenarios of doom were chasing her away again. She'd thought long and hard about it. Being with him, no matter the outcome, was better than never seeing his bright smile, hearing his voice or having him hold her. If her dad was here, he'd have told her to take the chance. And so she would. Besides, what else could she do? He was her Valentine's gift. He had her heart, she had his. That was all that mattered.
