Joss’ stomach flip-flopped, and she smiled against Maeve’s lips. “So do you want to go now?”
Maeve slipped her hands under the hem of Joss’ untucked tee and grinned as she fluttered her fingers just below Joss’ breasts. “Do you?” She teased Joss’ lips with her tongue. “Because I’m all for getting on that plane and getting into your pants, but if you want—”
Joss groaned as her nipples went instantly hard and her stomach clenched with need. “Suitcase?” she asked as she tore herself away from Maeve and started for the house.
“Foyer,” Maeve instructed with a laugh. She turned toward her parents and daughter and added, “Molly, me and Momma are going to go on our trip now so you can have a super-fun weekend with Grandma and Grandpa. Can I have a love goodbye?”
Joss watched Molly wriggle out of Ben’s arms so she could run into Maeve’s, and her heart swelled with love as she watched Maeve hold their child to her. Not wanting to be left out, George joined them, and Joss smiled as she picked up the suitcase.
I am so goddamn lucky.
She gave George a hug and Molly a kiss on the forehead as she passed, and smiled her thanks at Ben as he raced ahead of her to open the back hatch of the jeep for her.
“Have fun this weekend,” Ben said as she hefted the suitcase into the car.
Joss nodded. “We will.”
“It’ll be late when we get into New York, so I’ll call in the morning,” Maeve said.
“Whatever,” Elizabeth said, smiling. “We’ll be here, so just have fun doing your shows and enjoy your weekend together.”
Maeve looked at Joss, her eyes smoldering with lust and twinkling playfulness, and grinned. “Oh, we will.”
Joss tried to hide the blush she felt burning her cheeks as she rushed back to steal one last kiss from Molly and to give George one last pat before she climbed behind the wheel of the car. “I can’t believe you gave me that look with your parents right there,” she muttered when Maeve joined her.
“What look?” Maeve asked, batting her lashes innocently as she buckled her seatbelt.
Joss waved at Elizabeth, Ben, Molly, and George, who had all retreated to the front porch for safety while they drove off, and started the car. “The I’m-going-to-make-you-come-so-hard-you-forget-your-own-name look.”
Maeve laughed and waved at everyone on the porch. “That wasn’t a look. That was a promise, sweetheart.”
Joss huffed a quiet laugh and shook her head as she shifted the car into gear. “God, I love you.”
Maeve smiled, took Joss’ right hand into her own, and laced their fingers together. “I love you.”

Many, many thanks to you, my amazing readers, without whom I would have to go get a “real” job and wouldn’t be able to spend my days doing what I truly love. Thanks also go to my amazing Alpha readers Jade and Amy, who were once again right there with me from the very beginning, reading this thing in bits and pieces, and offering both editorial suggestions as well as the occasional (much needed) pat on the head. To KJ for finding time in your busy schedule to take this thing on a test run and give me some much-appreciated feedback. To Clom, for your medical prowess and suggestion that I add a prologue (you were right, by the way, it is much better now). And, lastly, to Wye, for squeezing me into your busy schedule and once again pointing out all the ways I could go about making this thing better.
Thank you.
