Uphir approached him guardedly. Carel could see that the man was afraid. He felt his arm rise and fall on Uphir’s shoulder and listened as Gatton whispered to him, “You must focus on getting us out of here. Take as many worm holes and get us across the Universe as fast as possible. That will make it harder for them to find us. But, before you do that. Lock me up, brother. I will make him bow down to me. I will win control.”
Never!!! Carel screamed, I will never bow down to you.
“You don’t know it yet, but you already are,” Gatton said. “With each movement that I override, I gain more control. Soon, you will be nothing but a buzz in my head. No more harmful to me than a tiny little insect.”
Chapter 30
Laura and Ceran walked side by side in silence. Word had spread among the people on board the Pyxis of what Laura had done. As the people passed her by, she noticed that they were looking at her in fear. Some would walk around her with as much distance that could be had from her. They didn’t understand what she did or how she did it. It wasn’t something that an average person could do. Therefore, it was less than accepted. Maybe, it would be better for her and the rest of the crew if she left for a short time.
“Ceran, they are scared of me,” Laura whispered over her shoulder.
“I know. It was hard for me to rationalize it after what I saw you do. I know that you aren’t evil and that this gift is an essential part of you. I love you and what I saw doesn’t change how I feel about you. But, it will take some time for the others to accept it.” Ceran whispered back. “It might have been divine providence that called us to leave for a while.”
“Maybe,” she said after she saw one of the women walk past her making a gesture with her hands. In one of her lifetimes, she had been burned at the stake. Woman who could heal were often called witches and punished unfairly for it. It certainly wasn’t a fate that she wanted to repeat. She walked faster down the hall to the electronportation room making Ceran quicken his pace to keep up with her.
“Roran, we need to hail the Valhalla to meet Iain Moor,” Ceran said as he looked over the engineer’s shoulder.
“Zion and his companion were transported to a secondary craft. It seems that the ship is so large that it can affect the gravitational pull within a solar system.” Roran said. Laura and Ceran gave each other an incredulous look. “I have them. I will put them up on the screen for you.” Laura looked at the being that answered their call. He was definitely lizard-like with red skin. His eyes were large and golden brown in color with a vertical slits that divided the iris into two equal parts much like a cat’s eye.
“This is Roki-274, how can I help you.” His pointy teeth showed just under his thin black lips as he spoke. On his uniform was a seal that consisted of a top view of a pyramid with three swirls drawn down its walls and a small circle at the upper base angle.
“I am Ceran, grandson of Iain Moor, requesting transport to the ship, Valhalla.”
The man held his hand up showing six long narrow fingers with sharp curved claws. “I was told to expect your call. I am sending the coordinates to our ship now.” On the terminal in front of Roran displayed a rolling series of numbers.
“I’ve got it,” Roran said as he touched the keypad. The other monitor showed a picture of the craft they would be traveling to. The transport craft was the shape of a giant teardrop with multiple levels stacked on top of each other. “You can step on the transport pad now, sir. I am ready.”
“Thanks, Roran.” Ceran reached out for Laura’s hand and grasped it pulling her up next to him onto the adjacent circle on the floor. She watched as they both started to fade from a place that held a link to the home that she came to love over the last few months. Theron was just one of many planets that she would come to know in her lifetime. As long as Ceran was at her side, she was home. She was overcome seconds later by the dizziness of all her tiny atoms coming back together and making her whole on the other ship.
They were approached by the man who sent them the coordinates. He stood about 8 feet tall and was very thin. His face was flat with two nasal slits that changed in size as he breathed. Where his appearance would make you feel threatened, his demeanor said he was a kind soul. “I am Razael from the great star union of Centaurus. I am very pleased to meet you both. You are Ceran, and you must be Laura. Zion and the commander have told me much about you both.” He held out his red hand with gleaming white claws to Laura. When Laura hesitated to take it. “I am familiar with some of the customs of your planet. Isn’t it typical for people of your species to shake hands upon meeting?”
“Oh yes, of course. Forgive me. I have been exposed to many different races in my travels and all of them have different ways of greeting one another. I have yet to meet a Centaurian. It is nice to meet you Razael.” Laura said grasping his scaled hands firmly while avoiding the sharp claws. She hoped that her hesitation did not offend him.
“Don’t be silly.” He nodded to Ceran with an odd snort of amusement. “Iain is expecting you. If you and your woman will have a seat over there, I will bring you to the ship.”
“Thank you,” Ceran said as he put his hand on the small of her back and lead her to the chair. “I heard that the ship is quite large. How large is it?”
“The Valhalla is 1014 miles across at the widest part. You will see for yourself when we get close.” Ceran nodded and Razael sat at his station. “Prepare to return to the ship.” Several other beings from distinctly different origins arrived at their positions on the deck. When everyone looked to Razael for instructions, he said, “Engage hyperspace.”
A bald woman that looked very much like a human with the exception of her light blue skin color and enlarged skull that made her forehead bulge said, “Hyperspace engaged.” She saw the streaks of light as they moved away from Drylon’s orbit. “We are at our destination.” She said just a moment later as the streaks became shorter and morphed into fixed points all around them. Ahead of them was a ship like none she had ever seen before. It was shaped like an enormous snowflake with bays that had many floors that connected to other bays by lighted, glass-enclosed walkways. Each bay was symmetrical to the one in the shared ring, but every ring was uniquely different. In the outer ring of bays, there were several gyroscopic rings that spun. It was in a word, amazing. She looked at Ceran, who must have found the ship as fascinating as she did because his jaw had dropped as he stared.
“Welcome to the Valhalla. If you accompany me, I will get you transferred onboard the ship,” said Razael. They followed him to a brightly lit room. The walls were backlit panels of bright white light. He motioned them in and he shut the door. Seconds later, they were on the bridge standing in front of a man with a long beard and large royal blue eyes that matched Ceran’s.
“You must be Laura,” he said with a tilt of his mouth. She nodded and accepted the hand that he held out to her. Most of the crew must be schooled in the customs of other planets. He turned to Ceran and said, “She’s beautiful Ceran.” He returned his gaze to her, “Please allow me to welcome you to my ship.” She looked around at the many officers of many different races, sizes, and gender. Some were reptilian, some equine, but most of them looked like her with small differences. For example, their eyes were bigger or their ears were set lower on the sides of their heads. “Everyone, I would like you to meet my grandson, Ceran and his woman, Laura.” She heard the murmur of everyone welcoming them aboard. “Now, if you will excuse us.” He motioned for the two of them to follow him and they fell into step behind him. He brought them into a large office with a metallic crescent shaped desk.
“I see you have brought some of your things,” Iain said as he took his seat and motioned for them to sit in the chairs across from him.
“I didn’t know how long we would be with you. We both need answers and it seems that you’re the best chance of getting them. Otherwise, we would have stayed where we were.” Ceran crossed his arms over his lap and touched forefingers and thumbs together into a temple
like fashion with his elbows resting on the arms of the chair.
“Yes, I see. Well, let’s start with who and where your origins begin, Ceran.” He punched in a code on his desk and a holographic image of a Canis Minoris, otherwise known as Sirius, was projected over his desk. “We belong to a race called Procyonans.” He zoomed into the star system by pulling his hands apart over the hologram. Procyon A is a star in Sirius with six small planets. Humans occupy the fourth planet from the star. That is where our people are from.” He pointed to the blue-green sphere circling the sun, “Let’s just say that I was born there a very long time ago. We as a race are avid explorers and scientist that have led some of the most successful expeditions into the unexplored parts of the Milky Way and other galaxies.”
“While we started off as explorers, over time we saw the potential for other planets in the galaxy to sustain life. We would use genetic manipulation to help certain organisms adapt to the environments we would select for them. We have seeded many planets in the universe with life, including yours, Laura.” He brought his hands together and the entire Milky Way galaxy came into view and two tiny planets among them blinked brightly setting them apart from the rest. “Our planet is roughly 11.4 light years from Earth depending on where the planets are in orbit around their respective suns.”
“At first we were commissioned to make a domestic labor force for a group of Extraterrestrials that were mining for gold and other precious materials that were found on your planet. The first attempts of our breeding experiments were unsuccessful. The workers were either not intelligent enough or not strong enough. When we were finally successful, all was peaceful for centuries. But peace, when any kind of being has been subjected to slavery, will always come to end.”
“The workers would be influenced by another group of benevolent E.T.s and revolt. This caused a war between the two factions. The E.T.s that had commissioned us would be forced to move to other planets to obtain their gold and minerals at the end of the war. Those that remained continued to interact with the humans and eventually would interbreed with our creations. Humans on Earth learned much more than they should have from those that stayed behind. This would cause them to war among themselves. Within the last hundred years, the miners started to return to harvest the gold and minerals that they had left behind. Since their return, our ships have played an active role beside the Interdimensional Council of Light to keep them from starting another war on Earth. ”
“That gives you an overview of my race and the race that you share heritage to, Ceran. Now, it might be time to tell you why we were on Theron. Long ago, an Arcturian prophecy stated that a boy with mixed Procyonan and Theron races would come to eliminate the threat of several of the reptilian races and those of the Greys in this galaxy. It is said that this man will instrumental in stopping the breeding projects and the suppression of the people from natural evolution.” He turned to Laura and said, “And, Laura, from what I have heard of your talents from Zion, you have the same healing gifts I have seen in the Arcturian people.”
“Are you saying that I am going to be some kind of savior for the Milky Way?” Ceran said in disbelief.
“No, I am not saying that. I am saying that you have the potential to be. Zion spoke highly of your abilities of the mind. With further training from myself, you could be the man the Arcturian prophesied about.” Iain Moor touched his desk and the hologram disappeared.
Laura interrupted, “I have been to the library at Porthologos, and I have looked into the origin of the humans on my planet. I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked, but I know that what you say is true. Besides that, I can feel that it is true. You said that there would be training for Ceran, would there be training for me as well? I would like to understand the scope of my healing abilities and how I came to receive them.”
“When Anora’s parents saw you ascend, they informed an Arcturian healer. She is in route to meet with us to continue your education. It seems that you have finally come into your true and full abilities in this incarnation. I look forward to seeing you develop them. That is if you will agree to stay with us and align yourselves with our mission.” He paused for just a moment, “Before leaving your ship I had the opportunity to talk with your commander. I told him of your importance to us and that I am your family. I expressed my desire for you to join me on my ship. He said that it was not his decision to let you go. The decision must be made by you both. Will you stay?”
It was quiet and Laura looked to Ceran for an answer. He must be the one to make the decision that would change their lives, because she didn’t care where she lived or where she traveled to as long as she was with him. “This is a big decision,” Ceran said. He reached out for Laura’s hand and kissed it, “I think that Laura and I must discuss it in private. Can we give you an answer tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow is irreverent here. We are immortal beings and sleep only when we need it, but take your time. I want you to be sure of what you want, whatever your decision may be. I will have Zion show you to your room, and if you’re up to it around the ship.”
“I am mortal.” Ceran replied. “Coming aboard this ship won’t change that.”
“Well, that remains to be seen. You see, Laura is also immortal. She became so when she transformed herself into the higher dimensions while inside the evolution temple in Agartha. But, if you keep mating with your woman, you will become immortal as well by default. If that doesn’t work, I can always turn on your immortality gene. We are fully capable of doing this kind of genetic manipulation.” He looked at Laura and saw her face redden at the mention of them having sex.
“That’s good to know,” Ceran chuckled. “Can we talk more about this later?”
“Sure, go get some rest and figure out what the both of you want to do. We would be doubly blessed to have you both on this ship.”
“Thank you, Ia…grandfather.”
When Iain Moor opened the door, they found Zion waiting behind it. “Are you ready to go to your quarters?”
“Yes,” they both said at the same time.
The corner of Zion’s eyes turned up as if he were smiling. “Follow me.”
The accommodations on this ship were beyond compare. The Valhalla was one of the elite vessels in the Interdimensional Council of Light. Laura seemed to be right at home here. She said that many of the amenities found in their room were much like the ones she found in Agartha. She eased herself into the overstuffed chair in the living area of the room.
“I think we should stay. You said yourself that your family was gone from Theron and now you have found a piece of it on this ship. Your grandfather wants us to stay. I think we should, too,” Laura said. Ceran knew deep down she was right. They could learn so much from being here and working with these people. She could learn so much more than she would ever learn on Theron. Besides, he thought about the fear in the eyes of all those people that passed her in the hallways as they were leaving the Pyxis. Word was quickly spreading around the ship about what happened with Rog Gizzeppli. She wouldn’t have to worry about being shunned or feared on this ship.
“I don’t know him very well. We were never close when I was a child. He was always behind the locked doors of the elder building. What if it doesn’t work out with him and me?” Ceran said.
“If it doesn’t work out, we can always go back to Theron. But, I really think we need to give this a shot. I am sure that Zeb and Zirlo will understand our decision.”
“What about the prophecy? What if it’s not me, or if it is and I fail? What then?”
“Maybe it is you. Then again, maybe it is one of our children or even grandchildren. You don’t know. For now, let’s forget about the prophecy. This is a great opportunity for the both of us. Just think, I could finally find out where all this,” she held up her hands and looked them over, “comes from. Think about it for a minute.”
“So, I think our decision is made. We’ll stay here. I will have to tell Zirlo
and Zeb our decision and we will have to go and get our belongings from the house on Theron. You’ll probably want your books,” he said and she stood and pulled him to her with a huge smile on her face. “Besides, my home is where you are.”
“It’s funny that you said that. I was thinking the exact same thing earlier. As long as you are with me I am home.” She stood on her tippy toes and kissed him. “What do you say we take this into the bedroom?”
“Hummm, I like that idea.” He swept her legs up into his arms and carried her through the door leading to the bed. She giggled as he tossed her on the mattress. She started to take off her shirt when his knee went down on the bed landing just between her legs. She pulled the band from her hair letting it fall loose on her shoulders. He thought at this particular moment she couldn’t be sexier. He went in for a kiss and felt her fingers run against the grain of his hair. It caused chills to go down his spine. “I know that you must be tired of hearing me say this, and I have no intention of ever stopping. You are so beautiful, Laura.”
She smiled and ran her fingertips just over the skin underneath the hem of his shirt just before she pulled it over his head. “I don’t imagine that I will ever tire of hearing it. I hope you won’t tire of hearing me tell you how much I love you. Come here and kiss me, you big sexy man.” He wasted no time and kissed her as he removed her bra. Her breasts tumbled out and he cupped the soft flesh with his hands. He trailed kisses down the lightly salted skin of her neck down to the pink tips of her breasts. She combed her fingers through his hair as she softly moaned. The little noises she made when he touched her like this turned him on and he was feeling the aching of his swollen and hard cock.
He unbuttoned her pants and eased the zipper down. Touching the soft skin just above her hips, she reacted and lifted her hips as he pulled until her pants over her feet, then tossed them to the floor. He returned his attentions to that sensitive skin just behind her ear and along her jaw. Her fingers found the waistband of his pants and she worked to free him from the confines within. Once he was sprung, he felt the scraping of her fingernails on the bare flesh of his ass. He arched his back as his chest made contact with hers. Her hair was a mess and some of the golden strands crossed her face. Gods, she was so hot!
