“I suppose that’s true. You’re sure…” Jack trailed off. He was almost afraid to ask, even after everything.
“What?” Rion kissed the sensitive skin behind Jack’s ear.
“You’re really ready to leave?”
“I would have left the day you returned if you’d not insisted on treating me like an invalid.”
Jack had to laugh. “I promise not to do it again if you promise to not be beaten within an inch of your life.”
“Agreed.” Their arms were outstretched like wings, and Rion threaded their fingers together.
“All right. On three. One. Two. Three—”
And they flew.
