Then, when I began work on my next novel, this one featuring Lady Diana Saintwood, there Lachlan was again, all sinfully handsome and completely sexy. This time, however, he had a message for me. He wanted Lady Diana to be the heroine of his story. And he wasn't about to change his mind. That was something of a revelation for me as I had been building up to a relationship between Diana and Lord Adam Reynolds, the Duke of Hathaway, for several books. In my conscious mind, Adam and Diana were a perfect match. In my subconscious? Not so much.
However, as I began to explore all three of the characters, I also began to realize that Lachlan - which my subconscious had begun inserting into my dreams, much to my dismay - was right. He was the right man for Diana. Not the duke. Hathaway was too stuffy, too proper. He needed to be shaken up a little bit first, to loosen up and lose that spotless reputation. He wasn't the right man for someone as spirited as Diana.
So Lachlan became a marquess and Diana became a little stronger than she had been in previous novels. The result? The book you've just finished, A Marquess is Forever. Because out of all of the characters I've created, I have a feeling that both Lachlan and Diana will be sticking around for quite some time.
I hope you've enjoyed reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. And be on the lookout for the next book in the series. There's a rich tapestry of characters to work with inside the world of Seldon Park, I'm quickly discovering, and I can't wait to tell their stories as well.

Her brother Stephen was one of Nicholas' best friends growing up. That was, until Francis left his duties and his family behind to join the army and never returned, sparking uncontrolled gossip. Since then, Eliza has made a habit of fading into the background, at first so as not to upset her grieving parents and later simply because it was simply easier than to endure the looks of pity in everyone's eyes. Including the eyes of her friends.
Now a man has entered their lives, claiming to be Stephen, but is he really? Neither Eliza nor Nicholas think so, especially as Eliza was Stephen's twin, but then, after so many years away, who can say for certain? All that Eliza knows is that accepting this man back into her family is a risk, one she is not willing to take without some little bit of confirmation that the man who looks so much like Stephen really is her brother.
Can Nicholas, who has always felt responsible for both Stephen's departure and Eliza's well-being, use his vast resources to determine if this man really is his long-lost friend? More importantly, can he resist the sweet charms of suddenly very delectable Lady Eliza, or will she manage to do the one thing no other woman has - seduce the Bloody Duke into her bed and into marriage?
