“One more.” He whispered again.
Ice grinned and kissed him again.
“Wait a minute, did that motherfucker just cut me off and then walk away from me?” Joanna asked in disbelief
Maddie nodded eagerly. “First he told us about how you came eagerly last night, and then he said your where a bitchy liar because you say one thing but yet you still end up in his bed…and then he walked away.” Maddie said proudly.
Joanna turned to her. “Shut the fuck up.”
Maddie smiled. “I love you.” She said sweetly. She didn’t miss that Joanna turned around and stared longingly in the direction in which Tyrone walked off.
“I can’t stand that nigga.” Joanna said softly.
Maddie smiled and popped an animal cracker in her mouth. Joanna turned to face her, and she quickly erased her smile and nodded. “Yeah man, Tyrone’s really annoying.”
Ice leaned her head off Peyton as she noticed a familiar redheaded figure going down the hallway. “Hey guys there’s Brooke.” Ice said excitedly. “Brooke.” She yelled out waving.
Maddie, Joanna and Peyton, turned to where Ice was waving, only to see Brooke wave back shyly and then turn a corner.
“Where the fuck has she been?” Joanna asked.
“Missed her?” Maddie teased.
“Heeeeelllll no.” Joanna said.
“I’ll be back.” Ice said getting up and heading in the direction in which Brooke had disappeared. “Brooke!” She spotted her down the hallway.
Brooke stopped and turned around. She smiled and looked relieved when she realized that Ice was by herself.
Ice caught up to her and gave her a big hug. “Brooke, I missed you, where’ve you been?” she asked smiling at the little redhead.
Brooke looked behind Ice. When she was satisfied she turned back to stare at her, a big grin came on her face. “I missed you too Ice.”
“Yeah right.” Ice said teasing. “Why have you been avoiding us, I have so much to tell you.”
“Really what?” Her excitement in her voice didn’t reach her eyes.
“Peyton and I are a couple.” Ice said smiling.
“That’s great.” Brooke said sadly and looked down at the ground.
Ice looked confused. “I thought you might be a little happier about that.”
“I don’t think you should go out with Peyton.” Brooke blurted out, and then nervously looked around.
“Why?” Ice asked.
“Because you don’t know him, he’s not who you think he is Ice.” She looked around and turned her gaze back to Ice. “I know stuff about him Ice. He’s mean, he’ll use you and then discard you.”
Ice smiled. “He’s not like that Brooke.”
“He is.” Brooke insisted. “He doesn’t love people. He changes people. Even you Ice, he changed you, you’re different. You’re not yourself anymore.” Brooke touched her arm gently.
Ice smiled. “Actually, believe it or not, I’m more myself around him then I’ve ever been with anybody.”
Brooke looked at her in confusion.
“Besides Brooke, why all these accusations, it’s not like you to talk bad about people. That’s Joanna’s job.”
Brooke looked down on the floor ashamed. Her face turning a deeper shade of pink.
Peyton came up behind Ice and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her neck. Ice smiled leaning into him.
“Well my sis---” Brooke froze when she looked up and saw Peyton. “I gotta go.” She said hurriedly and scurried off.
“That’s a strange friend you have there.” Peyton said kissing Ice’s neck.
Ice turned to him. The bell rang.
“I know. You want to know the weird thing.” Ice asked while putting her arm around his waist as they slowly started walking.
“What?” Peyton asked kissing her chin.
“She was warning me away from you.” Ice said amused.
“Oh really.” Peyton said nibbling her ear.
Ice laughed. “Yeah, she was talking about how I don’t know you, and you’re not who I think you are and she knows stuff about you and blah blah blah.”
“Strange kid.” Peyton said kissing her softly.
“Yeah she’s been acting weird lately. Come on, let’s hurry up, and remember no more tardiness for class.” Ice said.
“Uugghhh yes mom.” He said wrapping his arm around her neck and bringing her closer to him. He kissed the top of Ice’s head before turning to look in the direction where Brooke had run off.
The Couple
(ICE)
Ice grinned as she hopped down the stairs. Her hand sliding down the railing. She couldn’t believe she was this happy. Was this really her life?
“Ice?”
“Yes dad?” She called out to her father’s voice coming from the study.
“Are you going out?”
“Yes.” She answered picking up her keys from the key holder.
“Come here for a second.”
“Coming.” She put her keys in her purse and adjusted her sunflower dress. She made her way over to her dad’s study as she fixed her hair. If there was anything she loved on her body it was her hair. She went to the hair stylist faithfully every two weeks. It was long, it was healthy, it was shiny. Melissa insisted on Keratin treatments and Brazilian blow outs and now according to Melissa, Iceria’s hair was tamed.
Melissa had naturally wavy hair, loose curls, inherited from her Indian grandmother. Straightening her hair was a piece of cake. Iceria’s curl texture was tighter, messier, but that didn’t matter. Her curls never saw the light of day. Her hair was always laid, always straight, always flowing. She followed in her mother’s footsteps. Her proudest asset.
She passed by the mirror and pursed her lips.
She’d been talking to her new boyfriend until almost three in the morning under her covers. One of the last things he’d said was he loved her lips. How full and plump they were. How he loved kissing them. She’d giggled in embarrassment under her covers when he’d said he dreamed of her mouth. She’d blushed and reprimanded him for blatantly saying he couldn’t wait for her to give him a blow job. Her body had heated up as she tried to stop smiling. But Peyton had just continued on about oral sex and how he would love to taste her. To lick her pussy. His exact words.
Her boyfriend was a freak. An honest to God freak and she loved it. She loved that there was somebody who talked to her like that, who wanted her to know those things. She wanted it all. She wanted to learn, to discover. To live.
Ice smiled to herself as she opened the door to her dad’s study.
To be free.
“Hey dad------m---mom…” She finished off, seeing Melissa sitting on the couch. Almond hazel eyes focused intensely on their 17-year-old teenage daughter.
Ice took a deep breath and tightened her hold on the doorknob. “You wanted to see me?” She asked nervously. She refused to look in her mom’s direction.
Charles smiled and put his newspaper down. “Your mother and I got some news----”
Ice inhaled sharply.
“You’ve broken up with Michael?” Charles questioned as he ran his hand over his chin.
His daughter nodded. “Yeah.”
“Is everything alright?” Her father asked, dark brown eyes staring lovingly at her. “Has he done something? Stepped out of line? Because if his conduct was less than---”
“No.” Ice said quickly cutting off her father. “No, it wasn’t that.” She said nervously. She felt her mother’s gaze burning the side of her face. “I just…. I didn’t….I didn’t love him.” She shrugged.
Charles grinned. “Well then in that case. As long as you’re okay and happy.”
Ice smiled back at him. “I am.”
“Happy becoming the slut of the town.”
Ice lowered her head and slowly turned to her mother. She couldn’t lift her eyes to her. She stared at her mother’s pretty manicured pink toes.
“Now, Melissa….”
/> “No, Charles. Why don’t you ask your daughter who she’s roaming town with?” Melissa demanded. “Why don’t you ask her why she dropped such a respectable person like Michael to embarrass our family with that little hooligan wannabe. Why don’t you ask her about the fighting that happened at Petit Paris that she was right in the middle of?”
“He’s not a bad person.” Ice whispered.
“Did, I give you permission to speak?” Melissa snapped.
Ice lowered her head and bit down on her lip.
“Melissa.” Charles sighed.
Melissa’s hazel eyes glared at her husband. Jaws locked as she stared at him pointedly.
Charles nodded and turned to Ice. “Iceria, all we want is your wellbeing.” He spoke gently. “We want you to respect yourself and to carry yourself like a proper young lady.”
“I am.” She lifted her head to her father. “I am…. I’m not doing anything wrong.”
Melissa scoffed and shook her head.
Charles spoke up. “If this boy is a nuisance----”
“He’s not!” Ice spoke up. “He’s nice and sweet, and really great. The fight was a onetime thing. He won’t do it again. I swear.” Her voice shook. She moved her head and made eye contact with her mom. She quickly looked away. She felt hot. Her whole body was warming up. Her eyes fluttered as she tried to breathe.
“Aniyah isn’t in any position to make these decisions for herself.” Melissa spoke seriously.
“Iceria.” Charles corrected.
Melissa shrugged at her husband. “That’s what I said. It’s her middle name is it not?” She asked tightlipped.
Charles brought a hand up and rubbed his chest before looking away.
“I don’t want her going out with him and that’s final.” Melissa continued. “He’ll hurt her.”
“No, he won’t!” Ice turned to her mother.
Melissa blinked at her daughter’s loud tone. “I said----”
“I don’t care.” Ice’s voice trembled as she took a step back.
Melissa gasped.
“There’s nothing wrong with him.” She insisted nervously. “He’s a great guy and I get to choose who I want to date. It’s my life.” Ice took a couple steps back.
“How dare you.” Melissa shot up off the couch. She pointed to the door. “Go upstairs to your room.”
Ice lowered her eyes. “No, I’m going out----.”
“Now.” Melissa’s voice was low, without a hint of emotion.
Ice rubbed her hands together nervously. She opened her mouth to speak but her lips trembled. A hot tear ran down her face.
“Iceria Aniyah….” Melissa said in a low voice as she took a couple steps towards her. “You’re really losing control of yourself----
More tears fell as Ice whirled around and ran out of the study. She angrily threw her bag across the hallway before dashing up the stairs with blurred vision. She knew what that sentence meant. And what would happen if she disobeyed.
**
“No!” 12-year-old Ice yelled angrily as she hit her bedroom wall.
Melissa smiled sadly. “You’re really losing control of yourself right now.”
“No! No! Leave me alone! I don’t want to.”
Melissa turned and walked out her daughter’s bedroom, bringing a cellphone to her ear.
“NO!” Ice cried running out her room and grabbing Melissa’s arm.
Her mother was stronger than she looked. She pushed Ice to the floor and pressed a number.
“What’s going on?” Charles asked running up the stairs.
“Your daughter is having another episode.” Melissa replied calmly. “Hello doctor Ghyanis…”
“No.” Ice grabbed her mother’s leg. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry….” She whispered fearfully. “Melissa, I’m sorry.” She cried. “Please…please..”
“Ice relax…don’t get worked up sweetheart. Relax…” Charles put his arm around her daughter to comfort her.
Melissa pulled out of Ice’s grip and walked away, phone to her ear as she spoke in a calm voice to the doctor on the other line.
“NOOOOOO! Please!” Ice cried, her body shaking. “I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!”
“Iceria!” Charles reprimanded.
Ice dislodged herself from her father and pushed him away. She ran to her bedroom and locked the door. She turned and banged loudly on the door screaming in frustration. Ice brought her hands to her head and screamed louder. Nobody understood.
**
-hey where are you?
-I can’t come
-wat? why
-in trouble
-no! I had a nice date planned. sneak out. I’ll come pick you up.
-can’t. my mom needs to cool off a bit.
-fuck.
-yeah…sorry.
-sure you can’t sneak out?
Ice turned her head to look at her bedroom window. She was on the second floor in the back of the house. There was a huge tree, not that far from her window, but the climb down would hurt. She turned back to the phone.
-no. too far up.
-fuck…..want me to sneak in?
She smiled and shook her head.
-no. it’ll only make my mom madder.
-fuck she’s being such a bitch. i can’t believe you got in trouble. wat happened?
Ice took a deep breath.
-they found out about the fight at the restaurant. that I broke up with michael. that I’m seeing you…mom’s not happy.
-your mom hates me huh?
-she thinks youre the worse
-she doesn’t want me corrupting her precious little girl?
Ice smiled as she continued texting.
-yeah
-okay but…what do you want?
She adjusted her pillow on her back and smiled.
-what do you mean?
-you want me to corrupt you ice?
Ice bit down on her bottom lip but couldn’t stop the stupid grin on her face.
-yes
She held her phone and waited. She saw he’d read the text but he didn’t respond right away like they’d been doing for the past couple minutes. She chewed on her lip nervously. Maybe she shouldn’t have said yes. She should have played hard to get or something. She jumped when her phone lit back up.
-wat else do you want me to do?
She smiled at the suggestive tone in his text.
-everything
-everything?
-everything.
She sent the text with a mischievous grin on her face. She hugged her pillow and waited for his response.
-im def hard right now.
Ice’s eyes widened and she giggled.
-fuck you turn me on so much.
She looked around her bedroom and smiled to her self as his texting continued
-i want you so much ice.
She took a couple deep breaths.
-do you want me too?
She finally texted back.
-yes I do. A lot. I want you a lot Peyton.
Her stomach fluttered as she sent the text. She held the phone to her heart and smiled. Love was so nice. She stared at her phone and waited for his response. Maybe she’d said too much. Did she sound desperate? She re-read the text. She sounded desperate. Way too desperate. She groaned and threw her head back. He probably thought she was the most desperate person ever? Why wasn’t he responding?
Ice stared at her phone in fear. Still no reply. Should she text again? She put the phone face down to stop herself no. No, she shouldn’t. She crossed her arms and waited.
It was the most agonizing three minutes of her life. When she saw the light, she jumped and grabbed her phone.
-fuck im sorry. bambam fell down the stairs. mom insisted we take him to the emergency. i don’t think we should.
Her eyes widened in surprise.
-omg is he okay?
-he’ll be fine. he needs to learn to stop running everywhere
-awww poor bambam
-back to
you saying you want me a lot.
