Then he growled and his lips latched onto her turgid bud as he sucked her into his mouth. His tongue stroked and caressed the sensitive flesh as he discovered the one spot that drove her mad. He’d not given her any orders or commands. Her hands threaded into his dark hair and she thrust her hips against his sinful ministrations.

He felt so good. Her body was engulfed in flames of need. But she wanted more than his mouth, she wanted him, inside her.

“Please, Sir, make love to me. I need you.”

His head lifted and his gaze blasted her with heat. Deke wasted no time shucking his leather pants, withdrawing a condom from his back pocket. She watched him slide the protection over his impressive member.

And then he climbed back between her thighs and settled himself between them. He fit the bulging crown of his erection at her pussy’s entrance but held himself still until she looked at him.

“I will always protect you, come what may,” Deke promised. His words were like a benediction, and then he thrust with a roll of his hips.

She moaned at the exquisite pleasure as he filled her. Her nerve endings were ablaze as he stretched her with his girth. He kissed her then, and she tasted herself on his lips. Deke thrust and withdrew, filling her to the point where she was overfull and then leaving her nearly empty. He was gentle and slow with his thrusts, wanting to ensure she felt every part of their lovemaking. And it was lovemaking.

He threaded their hands together near her head so that they were chest to chest. His face hovered above hers, watching the interplay of emotions in her expression. Then he nestled his face in the crook of her neck, sucking on her flesh as he pumped her hips.

Yvette met his thrusts, undulating her pelvis as she writhed beneath him. She wanted their lovemaking to go on indefinitely, but she felt the first fingers of her climax reaching for her. With every plunge of his cock as he increased his tempo, the sound of their slapping flesh and groans filling her ears, her body was driven higher.

Their thrusts turned harder, faster as desire rose between them. They were in their own world, where no one but them existed. Yvette’s body was slick with sweat and she gripped his hands tighter as she became almost delirious in her need. Her body began to unravel with every forceful stroke of his shaft as it hit the lip of her womb.

And through it all, Deke never let go of her hands. His steadiness transcended their lovemaking, reassuring her, making her confidence soar, and letting her heart know it had found a safe haven.

Deke’s thrusts became more brutal and hurried as they raced toward the glistening peak of their combined climaxes. Yvette’s body launched itself into outer space.

“Oh god, Sir!” she cried as wave upon wave of ecstasy swamped her system. Her pussy spasmed around his shaft as he plunged. He shuddered and his body jolted as he came.

“Yvette!” he roared, plunging his cock in hurried strokes as he rode the waves of his orgasm.

He clasped her to him, unmoving, still holding her hands with his as their heartrates returned to normal. And she knew then that she could love this man with her whole heart if she was given the chance.

Maybe white knights did exist after all.

He rolled onto his back, taking her body with him. He kissed her as she lay against his side. No words or feelings were exchanged, but Yvette knew from the look in his eyes that he was as unequivocally altered by tonight as she had been.

And that was how she fell asleep, surrounded by Deke, in her bed, listening to the sound of the tide as it washed ashore.

  CHAPTER 9

Shep spent an inordinately excruciating night tossing and turning in his bedroom on board The Surrender. He wasn’t using again. He hadn’t used painkillers for more than a decade. That didn’t mean he didn’t fight the addiction every day. Some days were better than others, and Deke didn’t know that he kept a bottle of them on hand, just in case. They were like a wet blanket if things got too bad.

But it rankled him that Deke thought he was back on the painkiller bandwagon. Shep had fought too damn hard to come back from the brink of oblivion to ever want to go back there again.

He’d lost everything once. A simple injury to his rotator cuff while he was chasing Olympic gold and he’d become addicted to OxyContin. Within a year, he went from living the high life to being a has been. And his addiction had spiraled as his life fell apart. If it hadn’t been for Deke, he likely would have put a bullet in his brain.

But he did have an addictive personality which, coupled with his single-minded determination had at one time served him well in the pursuit of Olympic gold, but now had a tendency to cause him to mess up like he had yesterday morning. Yvette had felt so good, so warm and inviting, and seeing his cock thrusting between her tits had driven him over the edge of reason.

He didn’t know what he would do if she spurned them because of him. Deke had every right to be pissed off. If their positions had been reversed, Shep wasn’t certain that he would be so level-headed.

He finally called it quits on attempting to sleep as dawn broke, and readied himself for the day. After a lengthy shower, where he fantasized about sinking his cock into Yvette’s sweet cunt again and jerked off, twice, he mainlined coffee like they were going to run out. Then he headed to the hotel to collect his schedule for the day.

As he approached, he spied a couple playing tonsil hockey near the elevator, but couldn’t tell who they were in the shade. As he neared the elevator, the distinct features of the man and woman became crystal clear. It was the hair—her hair, the sheet of midnight hair gathered in a ponytail—that gave them away.

His heart dropped into his toes when Deke released Yvette and she gazed at him with stars in her eyes. Son of a bitch!

“So that’s how it’s going to be then,” Shep said as fury blustered inside him like a white squall. Both Deke and Yvette turned at the sound of his voice.

“Shep, it’s not what it looks like,” Deke said, his gaze steady with no hints of remorse. The bloody bastard had done a bait and switch when Shep wasn’t looking.

“Really? Because from where I’m standing, the two of you are looking pretty cozy. Was this your plan all along, to cut me out?” he snarled as hurt and fury lacerated his soul into a million pieces. This was why he never got rid of his last bottle of pills, for just in case scenarios.

“Shep, please, listen to him. If you’ll just hear us out.” Yvette held her hand out to him while keeping her other one gripped in Deke’s, like they were a unit already. It cut to the very heart of him.

“I’ve seen and heard enough. Just leave me the fuck alone. Both of you,” Shep said and swiveled on his heels, heading back the way he came.

His heart shredded and disintegrated. He had trusted Deke with his life, literally. And that made his betrayal that much worse. Yvette, he couldn’t fault, at least not much. She had welcomed him and loved him when he had thought no sub would ever want an ex-addict, ex-Olympian swimmer who had fallen from grace as her lover. She’d made him believe it was possible, that he could find redemption and love.

But he’d been wrong, on both accounts. He boarded his boat and disembarked from the island just as he heard both Deke and Yvette’s voices behind him on the docks. Shep ignored them. He didn’t look back. There was nothing more to say. Shep didn’t want their excuses, or to hear their protestations of innocence. It was clear Deke had spent the night with Yvette and, from the looks of things, would do so again.

Shep accelerated his speed as he cleared the island and reefs, heading out into the deep blue. Maybe he should just keep sailing until he hit land on some far off distant shore.

Deke’s voice came over the radio and he switched it off. He didn’t want to talk, he just needed to sail and let the ocean calm his mind.

Otherwise, he would start using again. And if he did that, he was well and truly lost.

“WHAT HAVE WE DONE?” Yvette paced the dock. Shep had jumped to conclusions, not that she blamed him one bit, but he’d run from her. She co
uld feel herself beginning to tailspin.

“Nothing, kitten. Shep has always been a hothead. I want you to go up to the hotel and go to work. Let me track him down,” Deke ordered, his gaze on the blue horizon.

His orders put her back up. She sputtered, “No. I need to be there. I’m as much to blame. I need to explain, I need him to understand, and he can’t do that if I’m not there.”

Deke gave her a pensive look as he said, “Yvette, there are things you don’t understand. I will give you an edited version since we are short on time. Shep and I are addicts, former drug addicts. Do you understand what that means?”

Her heart plummeted in her chest. “Oh god. He wouldn’t do something drastic, would he?”

“As much as I hope not, he’s not dealing logically here but emotionally. He’s already in love with you and what he just witnessed, he will consider a betrayal,” Deke explained.

It was like a knife in her chest. Shep loved her? And now he would think—dammit. First the drama yesterday with her freak-out, and now Shep pulling a Houdini act with his boat. They certainly made quite the pair.

Yvette insisted, “You have to let me go with you. I won’t take no for an answer. If you don’t let me go with you, I will find a way to get there myself. I cannot let him think that I don’t care about him or that what happened last night means I don’t want to be with him, too.”

Deke studied her while she fidgeted, rather proud of herself that she had gotten that all out without dissolving into a bucket of tears. “Fine, get on board, but we do things my way.”

“Thank you, Sir.” She hurried up the gangway of his vessel, Goddess of the Sea. She would do things the way she needed to do them. For both their sakes. If that meant either of her men had to punish her for it, so be it. She wasn’t going to allow Shep to harm himself.

“Oh, and Sir, I don’t care about what you both were before we met. I find it remarkable that you were able to overcome it.”

Deke gave her a warm glance chock-full of emotion. Then he said, “I’m still an addict, and always will be, it’s just that my drug of choice now is you. Now, get below and buckle in. Shep shot out of the docks like a bottle rocket. But I think I know where he’s going.”

“Fine. I’ll contact Derek and ask him to take over your runs this morning.”

“That’s a girl,” Deke said, giving her a swat on the rear as she walked past him and headed downstairs.

Yvette located the radio in the cabin and contacted the island. Gertrude was still manning the front desk and she gave her an edited version. Gertrude promised to call in extra help while they located Shep. Then she radioed Derek.

“What can I do for you, Miss Yvette?” his deep voice responded, sounding like molten dark chocolate.

“Would you pick up whatever Nassau runs that Deke and Shep had this morning? Possibly coordinate consolidating passengers and the like?” she asked.

“Sure, what’s up with Deke and Shep? Do they need my help?”

“I think we have it covered. Shep went AWOL, Deke is tracking him with Jeff’s assistance.”

“Good deal. Ya’ll let me know if you need me,” Derek said.

“Will do, Derek. Thank you, Sir.”

“Anytime, little miss.” And then the line went dead.

Yvette wanted to pace the cabin but did as Deke had bid. And he wasn’t kidding when he said he planned to move fast. The boat sped through the waters like a hungry sea serpent. It was an hour fraught with tension as she held on in her seat. But then the ship slowed, the motor humming as they came to a standstill.

Angry shouts punctuated the stillness. This was her fault; their argument. She had to fix it. They had been friends before her arrival and she needed to ensure she didn’t come between them. Ignoring Deke’s orders to stay below, Yvette headed up the stairs.

The bright sun blinded her as she rushed on deck. Deke had pulled his vessel right alongside Shep’s boat The Surrender. He had attached his boat to Shep’s and the two men were arguing over it.

Maybe that was what she needed to do, how she could help them repair the damage done by her carelessness. She could offer Shep her surrender. Not thinking, but going on instinct, she headed to where the two ships were joined. Both men were so intent on the other as they exchanged angry words that neither of them noticed her.

It took her a fretful minute because, while the ships were attached, there was a two-foot gap between them. So she had to balance on one edge and lean across a small swath of open water until her hands grabbed the smooth lip of Shep’s vessel. Why wasn’t physical dexterity her forte?

“What the hell, Yvette?” Deke shouted, finally spying her as she spilled over the ledge and landed with an unladylike tumble onto Shep’s boat.

She banged her hip and shins, but at least she was able to keep her face from hitting the deck. Just barely, but she’d take it. Besides, she was already going to have bruises from her tumble, she didn’t need the ignoble indignity of face-planting, too.

Strong arms lifted her up. Shep’s hands on her bare arms ignited a flurry of need. Who would have thought it would take not one but two Doms to make her see what she wanted in life, and that it would be them?

Shep ran his palms efficiently over her body, checking for any injuries. She laid her hands over his on her waist.

“Shep, Sir, I’m all right. Look at me, please.”

At her pleading, Shep lifted his gaze to hers. He tried to hide his emotions behind a mask of indifference, but she could see the hurt and pain within his stormy depths. Pain she had inadvertently caused.

“I’m sorry, Sir, for letting my past interfere with the present. I didn’t mean to get so overly excited. Deke helped me work through it, helped me see how much I need you both. Please don’t leave. I promise to explain everything to you.”

“We each have pasts that can tend to interfere. I know mine has recently, too.”

“I know. Deke told me, some of it, at least. I don’t care about what you did before or why. I’m just so glad that your path brought you to me.”

“Kitten…” Pain lanced across Shep’s face and he started to let her go.

“Let me be your addiction. Let me love you and make you mine,” she said.

His face whipped to hers, his blue gaze brighter than she’d ever seen. “Are you sure? After what I did yesterday, you’re sure you can forgive me?”

Who would have thought that this big, strong Dom would need reassurance from her, that he would worry that he was the one who had mucked things up? His words made her feel brave. She crowded his body until there was just a hair’s breadth of space between them. Yvette laid her palms against his nude chest, biting her lip at the exquisite feel of his muscles.

“Love me, Sir, just love me, so I can make you my addiction too.”

Shep’s hands slid into her hair and he tilted her face up, his eyes searching hers. Yvette held nothing back, being what he needed, taking care of him in his hour of need. On a guttural moan, his lips crushed hers. He surrounded her as he claimed her mouth. He dominated with his kiss, a violent storm of desire more potent than anything she’d tasted. Shep backed her up against the nearby wall.

She moaned into his mouth as he ripped her blouse down the center, his hands sliding beneath her bra to cup her breasts. The man did love her boobs. Both of her men did.

“I see Deke has already marked you.” Shep fingered the bite-sized bruises on one of her breasts.

“I want to wear both of your marks, Sir.”

“And so you shall.” He hoisted her like she weighed nothing until her boobs were before his hungry mouth. Shep undid her bra, nearly yanking it off her arms, along with the remnants of her shirt, and tossed them aside. Her pencil skirt was shoved up her hips and bunched at her waist. But she didn’t care. All she cared about in this moment was Shep.

He didn’t so much suck on her breasts as he inhaled them. Her fingers threaded into his tousled golden brown hair, and her head fell back against the
exterior wall. In her desire ridden gaze, she spied Deke standing on his boat across from them, watching with pride shining in his gaze.

She loved them, both of them, and seeing his pride in her brought tears to her eyes. Deke smiled and mouthed, ‘Focus on Shep,’ with a wicked gleam in his eyes. He would join them, but only after Shep had been appeased and healed.

Yvette held on as Shep laved her nipples with his tongue, lashing them, making them swell and ache. Then he bit down on the soft flesh beneath her nipple, sucking on her skin, biting, and licking it as he did so.

He performed this again and again over her breasts. It was the ones over her nipples that made her writhe against him. Who knew that hickies could be so erotic? Everywhere his mouth landed, he left a mark on her pale skin.

Then he released her aching flesh, staring at his handiwork. Desire clouded his handsome face. He lowered her body slightly and she felt the firm ridge of his cock pressing between her thighs. Her sex throbbed and she wriggled. She wanted him inside her.

“Please, Sir,” she whined, undulating her hips and leaving no question about what she wanted.

Shep grunted as he ripped her panties off. Tossing the offending garment aside in the same careless manner as her bra and blouse, he withdrew a condom from his back pocket.

“Not until you’re ready, love, but one day I do want my child at your lovely breasts.”

And in that moment, she could see it, a little boy with Shep’s eyes and her hair. It was the most perfect image.

“You’ll be the first to know, Sir.”

Then he sheathed his cock before fitting the bulbous head at her entrance. “Look at me, kitten. I want you to know who is fucking you, I want you to remember.”

She gazed at him, staring into his deep blue depths as he thrust, penetrating her grasping channel.

“Take it,” Shep said, “take all of me.”

“Yes, Sir.” Yvette’s body welcomed his long length as he plowed his member inside her. “Love me, Sir, just love me.”
