Spark of Vengeance: MacKenny Brothers Series Book 2: An MC/Band of Brothers Romance Page 11

by Kathleen Kelly

I break away from her with a growl and sit back. “One of us has too many clothes on, and it’s not me.”

Beth scurries up the bed and away from me as she pulls off her ripped shirt and tank. With a growl, I watch as she moves off the bed to pull off her boots and jeans. She has her back to me, and I can see her breathing heavily, but she makes no move to remove her underwear or turn around.

From behind, she’s perfect—creamy white skin, dark hair in a plait down her back, and curves in all the right places.

I stand and plaster my front to her back, my cock becoming harder at the near nakedness of her. Sucking on her neck, I let my hands travel from her breasts, down her sides to her matching white lace panties. I slide a hand under the elastic and touch her wet folds. Another growl escapes me as I realize she’s wet for me.

I drop to my knees and turn her around.

My Beth is like a goddess, nipples erect and straining against the fabric constraining them, her eyes smoldering with desire. Trailing my hands up her legs, I gently pull down her panties. Beth steps out of them, and I place one of her legs on my shoulder and very gently kiss the inside of her leg all the way to her mound. Beth gasps at the first flick of my tongue, and when I suck her clit, her hands twist in my hair as she grinds into me, gasping with pleasure.

I take my time, bringing her to the brink and then withdrawing. She’s not some club whore or quick fuck. This is Beth, my Beth, and I mean to take my time.

I remove her leg from my shoulder and stand, kissing my way back to her perfect lips. Her hands explore my body, and I rock with shock when one of her hands wraps around my cock. Slowly she pumps me up and down, the feeling so exquisite I break our kiss while I enjoy her touch.

Beth kisses my chest, my stomach, and then I feel those perfect lips around my cock. Her tongue flicks over my most sensitive spot at the tip. The nerves feel like they are on fire as I move in and out of her mouth. I feel her hand wrap around my shaft as she sucks, flicks, and teases me.

  I am lost to her.

Right now, Beth could ask me for anything, and I’d do it for her.

My hand wraps around her plait, and I pull her back up to me as she moans in displeasure. I chuckle as I turn her around and push her onto the bed. Before she can move, I grab both ankles and pull her closer to me. I lean over her, supporting my weight on the mattress, my cock poised at her entrance. Beth arches up and tries to take me inside her, but I move back.

“We do this… and you’re mine.”

  Beth nods.

I put my cock at her entrance and push in a little. “Tell me you’re mine.”

  “I’m yours.”

I thrust up inside her, and she cries out. I’m not a gentle lover. I thrust back into her, and she arches for me with a smile on her beautiful face. It’s good she likes it a little rougher, I can go slow but only for so long. My speed increases as I pound in and out of her, and I know I’m close, but this isn’t some quick fuck, and I want her to come first.

“Sean?” I stop and look into her eyes. “Where’d you go?”

  “I’m here.”

“You’re not here with me. You look like you’re concentrating… trying to make a decision.”

I grin at her. “I’m close. I want you to get there first, that’s all.”

Her smile spreads slowly across her face. “I’m yours, yeah?”

  “Damn straight.”

“Then it’s okay. We have plenty of time.”

My heart swells at what she’s telling me, and I nod.

“Yeah, we do, but this is our first time. I want it to be special.”

Her smile gets bigger, and Beth nods. “Swap positions?”

I pull out, lay down next to her, and she straddles me, guiding me into her slick, wet pussy. My hands go to her hips, and I move her faster as she rides me.

Beth grabs one of my hands and places it between us. “Help me.”

I apply pressure to her clit as she grinds into me, my other hand moves up to her breast, and I tweak her nipple. Beth moans and increases her speed. The first clench of her pussy around my cock startles me, and then my woman is chanting my name.

  “Sean, Sean, SEAN.”

Her pussy milks me, and I come hard. I push up into her as far as I can go as she orgasms and continues to ride me. I’ve never had anything like it, I’ve never felt so connected to another woman. Her movements slow down, I knife up, undo her bra and suck hard on her breast until I leave a mark. Beth doesn’t protest, instead, she holds me there and continues her slow pace on my cock.

I don’t know how long we stay like that.

Beth moves off me and curls into my side, my fingers stroking up and down her back until I feel her drift off to sleep.

Nothing is going to come between Beth Trent and me.

The next morning, I wake to an empty bed. The spot where Beth had been sleeping is cold. Opening my eyes, I search around the room. The door to the bathroom is open, and she’s not there. Climbing out of bed, I go into the bathroom and shower quickly. Wiping off the bathroom mirror, I catch my reflection and realize I’m smiling. Instead of my usual run my hands through my hair, I take the time to comb it properly today. When I’m done, I go in search of some clean clothes and hopefully my Beth.

I open the door to the motel room and find Angus outside sitting on the bench with his laptop open, typing furiously on it.

“Morning, brother. Have you seen Beth?”

“She went to the diner with Cutter and Kyle.”

He doesn’t even bother to look up at me as he’s too and engrossed in whatever it is he’s doing.

  “Have you had breakfast yet?”

Angus glances up at me. “No.”

“Come on, let’s get you something to eat, and maybe we’ll find Beth.”

I pull the door shut to the room and walk toward the diner. I don’t wait for Angus, but I can hear him walking behind me. As I turn the corner, I see Beth standing outside talking to Cutter. He sees me, smirks, and the fucker brushes some of her long dark hair out of her face. I watch in satisfaction has Beth takes a step back. When we reach them, Beth has two takeaway cups of coffee in her hands and holds one out to me.

“Hey, city boy, I was just coming to find you.”

“Did you eat?” I ask as I take the cup

Beth shakes her head, and her glorious dark hair moves around her in waves. “No, I was waiting for you.”

I drape an arm across her shoulders, and she links her fingers with mine, then I kiss her lightly on the lips. Smiling, I look at Cutter. “Have you had breakfast yet?”

The smirk which was on his face is now gone, and he shakes his head. “No, VP, neither has Kyle.”

Beth says, “He’s sitting at the same table as yesterday. I think he’s waiting for you.”

“You know my brother is a cheap bastard. He’s waiting for me to pay.”

Beth giggles and nods. “Isn’t that what family is for?”

Angus moves past all of us, nodding. “Yep. Let’s go eat.”

Angus sits opposite Kyle. Beth sits next to Angus with me on the other side of her, leaving Cutter to sit on the opposite side of the table next to Kyle.

The waitress comes over to take our order. “What’ll it be?”

Angus answers for all of us, “We’ll have the breakfast special and black coffees for all.”

“You got it,” replies the waitress with fake enthusiasm.

“What the fuck, man?” asks Kyle.

“I need to talk to you all in private, and I can’t do that with the waitress hovering. The mission you ran in South America…”

  I nod at him. “Yeah?”

  “You rescued a woman.”

  “If you say so.”

“Jesus fucking Christ! I’m trying to piece this together, Sean. You ran a mission in Montevideo, and you pulled out a woman and her baby.”

“Okay, I remember the baby screamed for most of the flight, but it wasn’t in Montevideo. It was a s
mall island off the coast of Iran.”

Beth looks at me in shock. “You don’t like kids?”

I take her hand in mine. “Of course, I do. The woman didn’t speak very good English, and I don’t speak Farsi well. Babies can’t regulate the pressure in their ears like adults can, but she wouldn’t let us anywhere near the child. Eventually, out of desperation, I had one of the guys hold her while I massaged the kid’s head near his ears, to help alleviate the pressure.” I shrug as I recall the details. “Then I gave the kid a Hershey bar.”

“You gave a baby a Hershey bar?” asks Beth.

“Okay, it wasn’t a baby baby. He was like… I don‘t know… one or two. Something like that.”

Angus clears his throat. “No one gives a fuck about the baby. Well, they do. The baby is Senator Towell’s brother.”

I look at Angus, confused. “What am I missing?”

The Towell family comes from old money. Lewis Towell’s father had an affair, and the baby was the result.”

  “So?” I ask exasperatedly.

“Senator Towell is running for President. His main platform is faith, family, and fulfillment. Meaning faith always comes first with their unwavering belief in God, family second, and fulfillment in practicing the Ten Commandments. This child, the Senator’s illegitimate brother, proves his father doesn’t support Senator Towell’s propaganda. If it got out his old man had an affair, it could possibly damage Towell’s very narrow lead in the race to become President.”

“Does anybody care? That’s a pretty flimsy excuse for wanting to take out an entire unit of men, but I guess people have done a lot more in the pursuit of power.”

Kyle leans back, slinging an arm over the top of this chair. “I agree, but somebody cares, or your unit wouldn’t be dead.”

I nod and glance at Beth. “Yeah, someone definitely cared enough to try to wipe us all out. So far, they’ve been pretty successful.”

“Are you saying my father was killed because some bastard wanted to run for President and lied about his father’s family values and is now trying to cover it up?”

Angus leans forward and stares at her. “What I’m saying is… if this came out, Towell would look like a liar because he was in charge of the operation, so he knew who they were. This whole time he’s been banging on about how his family is the pinnacle of the perfect, happy family, something the average American should strive to be like, when all along there has been an illegitimate brother. Throw that into the mix and watch the explosion.”

I shake my head. “It doesn’t make sense, Angus. Why, after all this time, come after us?”

“I went back three years through all of the data. Your buddy, Harry Shaw, I think he paid a visit to Senator Towell. Maybe he was looking for a payday? Maybe he didn’t like his politics and threatened him? Who knows? But I think he’s the one who tipped Towell off. I think he started this whole mess. If he’d kept quiet, all of your Marine buddies would still be alive.”

  “Harry did this?”

Angus nods. “It took a lot of work to find that out, but I went back through bank statements proving both men were in the same hotel at the same time two years ago. It can’t be a coincidence.”

“What does that mean for me?”

Angus smiles. “Brother, this is the easy part. All we need to do is contact Senator Towel and let him know what we know. Then we tell him if anything happens to you, we’ll go public. To be honest, I think the scandal he’s trying to cover up will be the thing that saves us. Senator Towell is obviously eager to put this whole mess behind him, no matter what the price.” Angus smiles at Kyle. “You know, brother, we might be able to make some money out of this.”

Kyle leans forward, placing both arms on the table, fingers interlaced. “They killed a lot of good men to keep this secret. I don’t think we should let them get away with it. Angus, we need to get justice for those who are gone.”

Kyle glances at me and then fixes his eyes on Beth. “What do you want to happen?”

I squeeze her hand lightly to let her know I’m here for her, no matter what.

“Someone has to pay for my daddy, but I don’t want Sean getting hurt so I can have my spark of vengeance.”

  Angus nods. “That sounds fair.”

“Fuck that! Beth should have her vengeance. Angus, there must be a way to out those responsible and keep my ass safe. Come on, brother, you’re always saying you’re the world’s greatest computer hacker. Prove it.”

“We need to find Scope,” states Angus.

  “Why?”

“If Scope killed everyone, we need him to testify to it. But more importantly, we need him to identify his employers. Scope is the key to us getting what we need.”

I rub the bridge of my nose deep in thought.

“Where do you think Scope is?” asks Kyle.

Angus spreads his hands wide. “He had two addresses. One was here, but there was another one, kind of a dummy address, but we checked it out anyway. It’s two states over. From the look of it, Scope either never lived there or hasn’t been there for a long time. The neighbors don’t even know what he looks like.”

“Which is no small surprise. Scope knows how to blend in,” I state.

“True, brother, but in this town, people know him, and that house he’s got out in the middle of fucking nowhere has more of his personality than anything else.”

“And like I told you, brother, it’s an empty shell. It is another safe house and not where he lives. We haven’t found that he’s a ghost.”

“Yeah, he doesn’t even have a paper trail. Wherever he is right now, he’s off the grid and doesn’t want to be found.”

“What are we going to do?” asks Kyle.

“Brother, this is a waiting game. With the camera we set up, we’re hoping Scope comes back.”

“Sean, you and I can’t be away from the MC for too long. Come home, and we’ll deal with this from there.”

“No, brother. If I come home, I’m putting you all in danger. Right now, I’m off the grid. No one knows where I am. It keeps you and everybody who knows me safe.”

Kyle looks at Cutter. “Can you stay?”

Cutter shakes his head. “As much as I’d like to do as you ask, Prez, I can’t. You’re my number one priority. If something happens to you, the MC will string me up.”

Kyle draws his brows together in a frown, and his lips turn down. “I could order you to stay.”

Cutter shrugs. “You could, but I won’t follow your order.”

“Cutter’s right, Kyle. You can’t be out on the open road alone. What if all of you go back? Angus, too. And I’ll wait here with Beth.”

“How safe do you think that is?” asks Kyle.

  “No one knows we’re here… I think we’re safe.”

“What if he’s the one doing all the killings? Do you want your woman around when shit goes down?” asks Cutter.

The thought of anything happening to Beth turns my stomach to stone.

“Maybe Beth should go back with you as well.”

I hear Beth’s intake of breath, and she wrenches her hand from mine. Standing over us, she points at each of us. “I can handle a gun better than any of you. My daddy taught me how to look after myself. I do not need a man to take care of me. I’m staying. I’m not arguing with you. I’m staying. If you don’t like it, then tough.” She sits back down and moves her chair a little away from me.

“Beth, I need you to be safe.”

“I am safe,” she replies with no emotion in her voice.

I look to Kyle for support, but he shrugs.

“The woman had a shotgun under her sink. She’s running a ranch on her own. I think she’ll be fine.”

The waitress comes over with a pot of coffee and begins pouring it into the mugs on the table. “Sorry, folks, we’re a little busy here today. I apologize for the wait. On a brighter note, your breakfasts are all about to come out.”

I look around the diner where there are only t
hree other people in here.

“Is it always this busy?” Angus asks with a smirk.

The woman has the good graces to blush. “Not normally.” Then she walks away quickly.

Beth elbows Angus in the side. “If she spits on our meals, it’s your fault.”

“Ow! And come on, there’s no one in here.”

I scan the room and think it’s weird she thinks it’s busy, but then, I shrug. Maybe for her this is busy. Reaching for Beth’s hand under the table, she moves away from me. Part of me understands her anger, but she also has to know I only want her to be safe.

The waitress comes back not long later with our meals. All conversation at the table stops while we eat in companionable silence. Not that I’m comfortable as I desperately try to figure out how to get back on Beth’s good side. Kyle seems more interested in the waitress than us. For some reason, his eyes seem to follow her around the diner. Even Cutter picks up on it.

  “Everything okay, Prez?”

“Yeah, something feels off about this waitress. I don’t understand why she lied.”

Angus glances over his shoulder. “Maybe she made up a bullshit excuse for her lousy service? I’m thinking she’s probably still angling for a tip.”

Kyle uses a paper napkin to wipe his face. “Yeah, maybe.” He steeples his fingers together with a look of concern on his face. “We’ll leave today. I think Angus should ride your bike back to the compound. You’ve got a car, yeah?”

Angus grins at the thought of riding my Harley.

“You scratch my bitch even a little bit, and I’ll fuck you up, brother.”

Angus scoffs. “I’ve never had an accident. Can you say that?”

He’s right, he hasn’t, but he also hasn’t spent as much time as me on a bike.

“When you find Scope, do not go in alone,” orders Kyle.

  “I don’t believe he’s the one,” I reply.

Kyle’s face changes from concern to anger in a split second.

Knowing what’s about to come, I hold up my hands and nod. “Okay, okay, I’ll wait for backup.”

Kyle’s lips go into a thin line, and he nods.

We all stand, and again, everyone looks at me to pay.

“Cheap bastards,” I mutter as I throw some bills on the table
