This time Ruby chuckled. “Don’t sound so upset.”
“He made me feel like a child asking a parent for a permission slip.”
“I’m your Creator. Until you have more experience --”
“I know.” Hagen took Ruby in his arms and squeezed his buttocks while at the same time nibbling his ear. “Just remember in the bedroom I’m the master.”
“Really,” Ruby teased.
“Need some convincing, do you?”
“Please.”
With a lustful growl, Hagen picked up Ruby, flung him over his shoulder, and walked to the bed where he tossed him upon it.
Ruby’s pulse raced and his cock swelled with desire. Since the Change, Hagen’s strength had increased greatly, surpassing Ruby’s. Ruby loved the feeling of being overpowered by his gorgeous mate and eagerly surrendered to his dominance in the bedroom.
They undressed quickly and Ruby allowed Hagen to position him on his back. Kneeling beside his lover, Hagen ran his graceful, long-fingered hands over every inch of Ruby from head to toe. He stroked his cock and laved the head with his tongue before sucking his balls until Ruby thought he would burst from the pleasure.
“Oh please, Hagen,” Ruby panted as the magician sucked his cock so deeply that it brushed the back of his throat. Hagen’s fangs pierced the staff. Both men groaned with passion and Ruby’s back arched in a desperate attempt to ease the almost unendurable sexual tension.
Abruptly Hagen pulled away, leaving Ruby’s saliva-slicked cock exposed to the air.
“On your hands and knees,” Hagen commanded, reaching for the lube in the nightstand.
Ruby obeyed. His heart pounded and he moaned softly when Hagen’s well-slicked cock eased into him. One of the magician’s hands curled around Ruby’s staff and stroked in time with his thrusts.
“Yes, oh, yes!” Ruby cried.
Growling, Hagen lunged into him. Their vampiric bodies gave and took in a way that had been impossible when the magician had been mortal.
With an animalistic grunt, Ruby came.
He and Hagen collapsed on the bed, the magician’s warm, sleek body half draping him.
Catching his breath, Ruby smiled to himself and thought, We’re going to have a long, happy life.
You can bet on it, Hagen replied, shifting his position and running his palm over Ruby’s tingling ass.
Epilogue
Christmas Eve
The Christmas party at Burgundy Peak was as much fun as Mel had said. Holly and tinsel decorated the club area, and the aroma of delicious food filled the air.
Ruby enjoyed the festivities even more because he had Hagen to share them with. Though the Maidens performed for part of the night, their show ended early enough for them to enjoy some of the bash.
Ruby had just finished changing clothes after the performance and stepped into the club area. Hagen immediately approached and greeted him with a kiss.
“You were wonderful tonight,” he whispered in Ruby’s ear.
“Thank you, sir.”
“Dance with me?”
Smiling, Ruby accepted Hagen’s hand and they joined other couples on the dance floor.
“Looks like Crimson is enjoying his leisure time.” Hagen grinned, motioning with his head toward the table where Crimson, looking all raw and manly, straddled a chair. His arms were draped around two doting females. One wore a scanty elf suit and the other a slinky silver dress.
Raising his eyes to heaven, Ruby said, “Sometimes I think he overdoes the macho thing.”
“I guess it’s hard for a straight guy to make his living wearing a dress.”
Ruby chuckled and pressed his body a bit closer to Hagen’s. When they turned, Ruby caught sight of Scarlet seated at a corner table talking to a hunk of man with a body like a brick shithouse. The guy was staring at Scarlet like he was the only person in the room and Ruby felt a kindling of hope that his friend, who had shunned relationships for so long, might finally be allowing himself the possibility of happiness.
“Now that I’m a vampire, perhaps I should change my name from Tang to Fang,” Hagen said.
Ruby wrinkled his nose. “I never thought I’d see the day you’d suggest something that tacky.”
Grinning, Hagen said, “Just some blood drinking humor.”
“Well, you’d better keep your ‘day’ job,” Ruby teased.
When the song ended, Hagen said, “Want to go upstairs? I have a Christmas present for you.”
“I have one for you, too.”
“I can hardly wait. I love presents.”
“So do I.”
After saying good night to their friends, they made their way upstairs. In their room, Ruby took Hagen’s gift from where he’d hidden it under the bed while Hagen removed a small box wrapped in red paper from the closet’s top shelf.
“You first,” Ruby said, handing his lover a green box with a gold bow.
They sat on the bed while Hagen opened the gift of two black silk shirts and a platinum bracelet inscribed with their names and the date of his Change.
“Thank you so much.” Hagen kissed Ruby. “I love them.”
“I love you.”
“Open yours.”
Ruby untied the ribbon and lifted the cover off the box. For several seconds his throat constricted with emotion, then he took the dagger pin from its bed of black velvet and caressed it lovingly.
“I can’t take this,” Ruby whispered.
“You have to.”
“But --”
“But nothing. I want you to have it because I love you, Ruby.” Hagen took the pin from Ruby’s hand and fastened it on his dress then took him in his arms.
Melting into Hagen’s embrace, Ruby said, “And to think I didn’t want to see your show that first night.”
“Excuse me?”
“Nothing.”
“What do you mean you didn’t want to see my show? I can’t believe --”
Ruby silenced him with probing kiss.
When they parted, Hagen wore a half smile, his eyes glowing with passion. “What were we saying?”
“That it’s time to go to bed.”
“Ah yes.” Hagen stroked Ruby’s hair. “Then we can make some real magic.”
“Please tell me you’re not going to levitate the bed again.”
“Of course not,” Hagen scoffed, guiding Ruby onto his back. “Do you think Zigor would be angry if I levitated the club?”
“Do you really want to find out?”
“No.”
“Then hush up and kiss me.”
Conversation ended and pure bliss began.
