“I am well aware of the sacrifice you made revealing that information to me. I am not angry. I am honored. Now go to sleep wife.” Conri gently kissed her forehead, pulling her tighter against his warm body beneath the blankets.

“Good night husband.” His love was worth any price. At the moment she could not bring herself to worry about Conor or the future of Ireland. That would have to wait for another day. Nothing mattered more than the man lying next to her.

Lulled quickly to sleep by a night of passionate lovemaking and her husband’s warmth Nessa remembered Dermot’s statement as she drifted into the unconscious realm of dreams. Love makes you a better person. Instead of an assassin doomed to the fiery pits of hell she was in heaven, lying in the arms of a man she adored, all because she fell in love with the enemy.
