My Husband and Kiddos – To my husband, who has always been the one to support our family. If he didn’t encourage me to follow my dreams and give them a chance, I wouldn’t be where I am now. He’s put up with my ramblings and throwing ideas around no matter how annoying I can be about it. Also, I have to be thankful for him being there to send me inspirational music when I need it most. My kiddos, who find what I do, as they put it, cool and want to know how many words I was able to get in each day. They also like to try and help me come up with plot ideas. Some are just as wicked as my own. I also enjoy the fact they come to me when they need help with finding things wrong in their own work wanting to understand better how things are supposed to be done.

My Brothers – No matter how much we go through, they’re always there for me. One may not be here in body but is always around in spirit. My oldest brother, for being proud of me and not having a problem saying it.

My Alphas – You guys rock! Thank you all for being the first to read the stories as they come alive. It means the world to me. Especially when you all start to get mad. That’s when I know I’m doing something right. And in doing so, pushing me to keep going with all the different plots that form in my head. I’m thankful to you all for being ready and willing to read and give your input.

My Knox Publishing People – Thank you guys for being such great people to work with.

Liz – My sister from another mister, my best friend, and Publisher/Boss. You’re my go-to when I need it. If not for you, I don’t know if I’d ever be where I am today with my writing. Thank you for always pushing me and encouraging me.

Diane – Without you taking everything on for me, I wouldn’t be able to focus the way I do on my writing. Thank you for everything you do. You’re not just my PA, you’re my friend and I couldn’t ask for a better friend than you.

Kim and Jackie – I know I’m a pain in the rear; however, you both put up with me. Thank you both for taking on all of my work. I love the fact I work with you both on each of them. Also, the fact when it comes to something I miss, you help me understand how to correct it so it doesn’t happen again.

  Wraith of Fire

  The fires burn hot

Depths of hell far too deep

Searching for what I need most

  The war is coming

  And so is my wraith

  I’ll have what’s mine

Through the hellfire, I will have it

I hold it in my hand

  Burning under it all

But it doesn’t hurt to feel the fire

  My wraith consumes everything

  Burning the walls around me

Lifting my head, my screams shake the earth

  Havoc takes hold

  I’ll burn the world down

  For those who are mine

  Fires of hell burn bright

Scorching the world under my feet

Time will come for those to feel my wrath

And burn for what they’ve done

  Not only to me

But to those who I hold dear

The wraith of fire will be felt

  One way or another

  Vengeance will be dealt

And with it, I will laugh

  While watching you burn

  Prologue

  Tyres

  Age 16

High school isn’t something I want to be doing. I fuckin’ hate school. Jax is the book smart one, where I’m the street smart one. My twin sits next to me, his fingers wrapped around the pen while he writes something on the sheet of paper in front of us.

If it wasn’t for Uncle Ryder refusing to let me drop out of school, I wouldn’t be here. Sure I make good grades, but I hate being here. Unfortunately, there are stipulations in order for any of us to be able to join the Inferno’s Clutch MC, we have to graduate.

Giving Jax a side glance, I wonder if he feels the same way about school as I do. Besides our cousins and uncle, Jax is the only family I have. The only one who knows the true depths of hell we’ve both endured. Hell, he knows the true horrors I’ve taken upon myself to keep him from being hurt. Then again, he’s done the same for me.

Our mother is a complete psycho, and I’m glad Uncle Ryder was able to get us away from her. I don’t know if Jax and I would be here now if it wasn’t for him. From burning us with cigarette butts to lighting matches and throwing them on our skin. Those aren’t even the whole of it. Both Jax and I bear similar scars on our stomachs where she stabbed us, claiming the devil needed to be dispelled from our bodies.

“Stop it,” Jax says, pulling me from my thoughts.

Blinking, I meet his gaze and furrow my brow. “What?”

“You’re bouncing your legs. It’s distracting and I know you only do that when your deep in thought about something,” he grumbles, then looks beyond me.

I turn to see what he’s looking at and find a beautiful girl with hair so blonde it’s white and with bright blue eyes, the color of the sky.

“Hi,” she whispers with a tentative smile.

“Hey,” I say just as quietly.

“Um, is it okay if I sit here by you guys?” she asks, glancing around the room, seeming unsure.

“Yeah, sit down. You don’t want Mr. Stevens to fuss at you for holding class up,” Jax jokes, somewhat. “I’m Jax, by the way, and this is my brother, Ike.”

Of course, my brother would answer for me. Looking at this beautiful Bluebell, I find myself speechless.

“I’m Rissa,” she introduces herself, takes the seat next to me, and holds out her hand for me to take. “Nice to meet you.”

Clearing my throat, I stick my hand out, taking hers. “Same, Rissa.” I smile.

Rissa lets my hand go before I let go of hers. Our eyes stay locked on each other, and I know I want to know her.

I’m no virgin. I’ve fucked my fair share of the girls in this school, but I never did more than that with them. Where Rissa’s concerned, I knew with one look she’s different and I want her for myself.

  Rissa

  Age 18

Today’s my birthday, and I, for once, get to do something I want to do without my overbearing parents telling me what was acceptable.

All I wanted this year was to go out with Ike, spend the day with him, and not worry about the weight that sits on my shoulders.

“Bluebell, are you ready to go yet?” Ike calls out for me from the other room.

My parents are gone for the day, and I let Ike in while I finished getting ready to go out on the back of his bike with him. If my parents were to find out about me riding on the back of Ike’s bike or that he was now a prospect for the Inferno’s Clutch MC, they would seriously punish me for it.

They didn’t have a problem with me being with Ike in the beginning. Then they found out his family were outlaws and to say my holier than thou father didn’t like this, is an understatement. He told me I was to break up with Ike.

  I didn’t do this.

Ike is the love of my life. I gave him my virginity six months after we started seeing each other and since then, we can’t keep our hands off each other.

“Yeah,” I call out as I open the door to the bathroom and step out into the hall. I find him standing there leaning against the wall, his face looking down at the flip phone in his hand. “I’m ready,” I announce.

Ike tilts his head to the side to look at me, and my breath wooshes from my chest when he turns fully to me.

“Damn, Bluebell, you’re beautiful,” he rasps, a grin sliding into place as he takes me in. I’m wearing jeans that are like a second skin, an Inferno’s Clutch MC fitted tee, and the boots he bought me for my birthday last year. My long blonde hair is in a long braid that sits on my shoulder. “Do you really wanna go out when we’ve got the house to ourselves?”

Giggling, I nod. “I’m sure. I don’t know what time my parents will be back, and I want to spend the day with you. Not them.”

He knows about my parents’ dislike of him, and considering I know what he’s been through, Ike simply doesn’t care if they hate him.

“Alright then, Bluebell, let’s get out of here. I got a surprise for you anyway.” And I wouldn’t expect anything else from Ike. He’s sweet and loving, and honestly, he spoils me. I’m not afraid to admit it.

If I knew it would be the last time I saw Ike, and him not hate me, I would have just asked him to run away with me. I didn’t know that when I got home, my world would be turned upside down, and I’d have to fight for my life.

  Literally.

I dug myself from the grave and ran.

I called him once and that was to tell him I couldn’t see him anymore. Tears were spilling down my cheeks as I said the only thing that I knew that would make him hate me. Now I’m heading back to town and I hope he won’t spit in my face when he sees me again.

  Chapter One

  Tyres

  Present day

Two years ago, I never thought I would be a dad. Hell, I swore to myself I wouldn’t have kids. Now I have a little girl.

  Wren.

She’s the most beautiful girl and has me wrapped around her fingers.

When I first found out about Wren, I didn’t know what to do. I got a call from a detective and CPS up in Virginia, telling me I needed to come get my daughter. I refused at first to go until I had a DNA test done, but I told the CPS and detective to contact my cousin Victoria to take Wren until I can get there.

While Victoria had Wren, she took her to do a DNA test. It concluded I was her father, which sucks be
cause I sure as hell don’t remember her momma. But I have a feeling that I was shit-faced drunk and the woman was a blonde. Wren’s hair is as blonde as the sun itself meaning, only one thing. I was fucked up in the head and it goes hand in hand with the time of year it was when she left.

I don’t allow myself to think of her, but on that day every year, I can’t seem to stop myself. I have questions that were never answered. Hell, her parents even up and moved away around the same time.

Nope, stop it right there. Those thoughts are to stay locked up tight and never to see the light of day.

It’s only a coincidence that my daughter bears a resemblance to her. Hell, I even thought at first it could have been, but there’s no way. She’s gone, and I don’t ever want to see the bitch again. Not after the way she ripped my heart out.

Where the hell is she? Rissa was supposed to call me when she got up this morning, so I could pick her up to go out. Now she’s not answering the phone and no one’s home.
