‘I am warm,’ murmured Eleanor softly, leaning towards Troye slightly, as he gently stroked back the long skeins of her hair, her eyes inviting. ‘’Tis your love that makes me glow.’
Troye almost blushed, still the soldier at heart, and Joan giggled, sensing that her parents were about to get all silly and running off to find Toby and bring him out to share the playtime.
Eleanor cuddled baby Harry more securely as she stroked her husband’s cheek. ‘I love you.’
Troye’s eyes were no longer shadowed by the darkness of grief, and looked at her with tenderness as he leaned down and kissed her lips. ‘I love you too.’
