Safe (Conquering) Page 24

by Ryan Michele

“The only person in my bed is you, baby, and will be forever.” My heart seized. Wrapping my arms around his waist, I pulled him close, breathing him in.

“Same here, baby,” I whispered in his chest.

“So, are you okay with it?”

  I could do this. “Yeah.”

Landon grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me to him. His lips felt as good as the first time they touched. I would never get tired of them.

“What!” I heard Sadie scream into the phone. I turned and she was visibly shaking.

I knew that she was talking to her mom, but I had no idea what about. And the fear in her eyes was scaring the shit out of me. For the past couple weeks, her smile had become my mission in life. I wanted to bring happiness and comfort to her. I wanted her to feel loved, wanted, and accepted for who she was.

I still wanted to kill that bastard.

Sighing, I walked over to the sliding glass door where she was standing and wrap my arms around her, where I could now feel her shaking. I squeezed her tighter.

“Are you sure, Mom, like really sure?”

  I listened.

“But Mom, you don’t know him, he’s capable of anything.” He … Rob. My anger rose, but I kept holding her.

Sadie began rapid fire questions to her mom.

  “You’ve seen a picture?”

“And you’re 100% sure that it is him.”

“All the ID on him said it was him?”

“Was the car he was driving registered to him?”

“In the picture, did you see the scar above his eyebrow?”

“I know, Mom. I just need to make sure it’s him. I don’t trust him at all.”

They must have caught him and obviously Sadie didn’t believe it.

  “Send me the picture.”

  “No. Now.”

“Fine, get on the phone with them and have it faxed here now.”

“No, Mom, I have to see it.”

I rested my chin on the top of her head, beginning to sway a little back and forth. I didn’t know what I was doing, but she didn’t push me away so I thought I was doing something right.

“Fine, Mom. Love you, too. Bye.”

Sadie pushed the button on her phone and threw it on the table. She didn’t say a word, and neither did I. After a few long minutes, she spoke. “They caught Rob. He was in Missouri, going to a cousin’s house, but I don’t remember him ever saying anything about a cousin there.”

“Maybe he knew someone else there and just said his cousin.”

I knew that bastard probably had connections all over from being a cop, but also from being a pimp. So who knew where he was going. “Maybe.”

“What’s wrong? You don’t think it’s him?” I knew she had to be concerned.

She let out a deep sigh. “I just don’t think he would let them just catch him driving down the road. That’s what Mom said happened. She said the cops in Missouri ran his plates as he was driving through, and they matched the warrant. So they pulled him over. Apparently, he gave a pretty good fight, tried to run away, tried to knock the gun away, but there were two cops and they overpowered him.”

“Well, the fighting sounds like him.” Fucking asshole.

“I know. I just can’t believe that he would pull over for them.”

“I don’t have an answer for you.”

Sadie turned around in my arms, and I gazed into her beautiful blue eyes. “Mom is faxing a picture, then I’ll know for sure.”

  “What picture?”

“Apparently, the cop car had a camera on it and got a clear picture of him.” Sadie closed her eyes, and I kissed her on her forehead. I loved doing that.

“You don’t believe it.” It was a statement not a question. I knew she didn’t. He was too sneaky.

“Not ‘til I see the picture.”

The wait for this fucking picture took five hours. Yes, five long, horrible hours. Sadie was a nervous wreck. Nothing I said or did calmed her for long. I would rub her back, and she would be all right for a few minutes, then tense up and need to move away.

I tried making love to her, but she wasn’t having it.

I tried feeding her, but she just picked at her plate.

I tried watching TV with her, but she couldn’t sit that long.

She just kept pacing … and pacing. Shit, she was going to wear a hole in the carpet, but if it helped her, she could make as many holes as she wanted to. There was just nothing I could do in that moment.

When the phone rang and Sadie ran to the fax machine in the office, I followed her. I didn’t say a word—just watched her. She pulled it off and began to look at every little peck on the paper. If she had a magnifying glass, she would be Sherlock.

She stared and stared at the paper. Wrinkles formed on her beautiful forehead that I just wanted to kiss away, but knew I couldn’t. “It’s him. It really is him,” she whispered, looking at me.

“Can I see?” She handed me the paper.

Dark hair, dark eyes, dark stubble growing for a beard, Rob, the fucker. He wasn’t a bad looking dude, but whatever he had in the beginning caught Sadie’s eye, which pissed me off even more.

I wanted to rip him from limb to limb and show him what it was like to be beaten and hospitalized. I wanted to show him how it felt when I cut his balls off. I wanted to have justice for Sadie.

“They caught him.” A smile reached across Sadie’s face, and before I could register what happened, she jumped on me, knocking me down on the floor. Straddling me, she began kissing maniacally. I loved having her on top of me; it was so damn sexy.

Sadie whipped off her shirt and bra, throwing it across the desk. Her boobs bounced, and I wanted them in my mouth, but I knew this was her show, and I needed to hold back.

She began touching them, rubbing her nipple back and forth. When she started groaning, I almost lost all control. Seeing her like this was the hottest fucking thing ever.

“Sit up,” she ordered, and I complied.

She whipped my t-shirt off. She lightly pushed me back down. She stood up, still straddling me. Her eyes focused on me—hot, sexy, and fire breathing.

Sadie began to slowly unbutton her shorts and pull down the zipper. She turned around, stepping in-between my legs. She began to pull her shorts and panties down together. She then bent at the hip giving me the best fucking shot of her ass. I had to touch it. I reached out and squeezed. She jumped laughing.

“Hands down, pretty boy,” she said, turning back around.

  “Pretty boy, huh?”

“It just came to me. You look awfully pretty laying there for me.” She smiled, dropped to her knees, and began unbuttoning my jeans.

Pulling them off, my hard as a rock dick sprang from the confines. Sadie’s eyes went molten, and she licked her lip. I knew what she wanted, and damn it, she could have it. She bent down, licking my dick from bottom to top. She latched her perfect lips around and began sucking, her tongue and lips doing wonderful things to me, causing my balls to draw up tight.

I knew I was about to blow in her mouth, which wasn’t happening. I lifted up, grabbed her by the shoulders, pulling her up to my lips. I could taste myself on her, and it was fucking hot.

Reaching over to my jeans, I grabbed the condom, gliding it on. Sadie straddled my legs, taking my dick in her hand and lining it up with her beautiful pussy. She went down inch by painful, beautiful inch. This was what heaven was like. Her warmth coming down on me was the best feeling ever.

When she began to really move, I tried to hold myself back. I needed her to come or come with me. It was painfully hard. Every up and down motion had me that much closer to coming.

I reached down and began rubbing her clit. That set her off. She screamed my name, and I loved hearing it out of her mouth. I grabbed her hips and began to pound into her from underneath, exploding into her.

Sadie fell on top of me, breathing heavily. We were still connected, and I didn’t want to lose that quite yet.
/>   I wrapped my arms around her and held her tightly, trying to calm my own breathing down.

  “I love you.”

  “I love you, Landon.”

“I’m so glad you’re here!” Kay shouted as she wrapped her arms around me and squeezed me tightly.

She was such a short, little thing that I had to bend down to hug her. “Me too; thank you for this.”

Pulling away, she tsked. “Now, of course I’m gonna throw a party. You’re part of the family now.” She smiled.

“Thanks Kay, but not really; we’re just moving in together,” I said shyly.

  “Nonsense.”

“Huh? Hi Mom?” Landon said from behind me. He must’ve felt neglected, poor thing. I’d have to help him with that. I smiled at how I could help him.

  “Hi son! Come here.”

Landon walked over and lifted his mom in the air, hugging her. “Put me down,” Kay yelled as she smiled. She sure loved her kids.

“Come in, people are just showing up. Get a drink and go chat.”

“Kay, can I help with something?” I asked. I truly did want to help her.

“No. You go have fun. No work for you.” She winked, turned, and left the room.

“Guess we need to get a drink, baby.” Landon reached for my hand and smiled. The love I felt for this man was something I never imagined having.

After Rob, I thought I would never have this undying love for someone and even better, have it given back to me.

Now that I knew that Rob was behind bars, I could breathe easier. I didn’t have to look over my shoulder every second of the day. I felt calm. I felt safe with Landon.

Landon got us drinks, and we began walking around. He introduced me to tons of people as they came in, none of who I would remember the names of tomorrow.

I just smiled and went along for the ride.

“Sadie!” Lainey’s voice made me jump, causing my drink to spill out of my hands.

“Shit, Lainey. You scared me!” I shook off the drink from my hand and looked up at her.

  “Sorry.”

  “It’s fine. What’s up?”

Lainey’s smile was intoxicating. She was so beautiful ordinarily, but when smiling, I was in awe of her.

“Steve is coming tonight! I can’t wait for you to meet him!” She squealed, jumping up and down. If I didn’t know better, she was acting like a teenager in love, kinda how Landon and I were.

My smile grew wide. “I can’t wait to meet him. When’s he coming?”

“In about an hour. He texted me saying he was getting ready.” I could see the happiness coming off her. She was oozing it.

  “Can’t wait.”

  “Sadie!” Shit, now Lauryn.

I turned to see her barreling through the crowd to me. She wrapped her arms around me tightly. “I miss you girl. You need to come see me.”

Wrapping my arms around her, I told her, “I will. We need to set up dates.”

She pulled away. “Yes! We so need to do that!” She practically yelled her words. Her smile was so contagious; I loved her.

The mix and mingle seemed to go on forever. I searched the rooms looking for Lauryn or Lainey, but couldn’t find them. They probably got caught talking to someone.

Walking over to Landon, I wrapped my arms around him. He was talking to a couple, I couldn’t remember their names, but I just needed to hug him, so I did. That was one thing I learned in this. If I wanted it, I needed to go for it. I was going for him.

I looked up as Landon reached down and kissed me on the lips. I thought I would be embarrassed doing that in front of a large crowd, but surprisingly, I wasn’t. I felt comfortable.

“I’m gonna go to the bathroom. Be right back,” I said, pulling away.

“Get back quick. We’ll get out of here soon.” He winked and kissed my forehead. I loved when he did that.

The walk to the bathroom was harder than I thought. Women, men, and a couple kids stopped me as I walked. Not wanting to be rude, I talked, but now I really had to pee. I rushed in and did my business. I heard a ting come from my pocket. I pulled my phone from my pocket and saw I had a text message from Lauryn.

Lauryn: Come out to the barn real quick. Gotta show you something.

  The barn?

  Me: Why the barn?

Lauryn: Out here. Need to talk.

Me: Be a few … gotta tell Landon.

Lauryn: He’s fine. You won’t be long.

  Seriously?

  Me: k, hang on.

Walking through the party, I searched for Landon on my way out the back door. He was nowhere in sight. Damn it.

Stepping out the door, I followed the path toward the barn. The night was absolutely beautiful. The warm air and light breeze caressed my skin. The stars shone bright alongside the bright moon.

Reaching for the barn door, I jumped back when it opened.

“Macy!” I screamed and ran into her arms.

“Hi. Sadie.” Her voice was flat, no life in it at all. Startling me, her arms didn’t embrace me as I expected. This was not the Macy that I knew.

  “What are you doing here?”

“Your mom said that since Rob was caught, she could tell me where you were. I heard about the party and wanted to surprise you.” Her voice was vacant, lost.

“I am so glad you’re here! What are you doing in the barn?” My curiosity was peaked. Something seemed off, but I really missed her.

“Lauryn wanted to surprise you. Come on in.”

“Are you okay, Macy?” I asked cautiously.

“Fine. Come in.” Macy reached around my back and ushered me into the wide-open space of the barn. I stopped dead in my tracks. My breath caught, and I knew I wasn’t breathing at all. I couldn’t. Shock—mortifying shock—raced through my body, freezing it in place.

  Rob.

“Hey, honey. Glad you could come join the party.” He smirked.

I didn’t move a muscle. I couldn’t as my feet felt like cement, and I couldn’t make myself go … run. I saw his picture. He was caught. He was supposed to be in jail.

“Awww, cat got your tongue?” Rob laughed.

My gaze fell behind Rob, and my heart sunk. Panic rushed through me, but I was rooted in place—unable to move. I whispered, “Lauryn? Lainey?” The silver duct tape across their mouths held back their response. Their hands were behind their backs, feet tied with rope sitting on hay bales near the corner. Their eyes were utterly terrified.

“Awww. Isn’t that sweet. She found her voice, Macy.” I heard his words, but couldn’t take my eyes from the girls. “Yes, the L girls came to join the party. I tried to just get Lainey here—she knew too much—but she had to bring this one along,” he said, pointing to Lauryn. “I had to improvise. I’m good at that, ya know. So instead of one going out, I’ll now have two, well, maybe three. I have some guys who would pay a pretty penny for a few nights with them … and you.”

No … no. I turned, looking Rob straight in the eye. “Let them go.” My voice was as stern as I could muster, but I could hear the shakiness.

He laughed louder. “No fucking way, honey. This time, this is going to be done. You’re going to be done.” He leaned down and whispered in my ear, “After I make some money on you, I’m going to kill you.”

The sharp pain hitting my head came from out of the blue, and everything went black.

Ow. My head was heavier than a ton of bricks, and the shooting pain going up the side was agonizing. What happened? Where was I? I tried opening my eyes, but they weren’t cooperating. Everything came flooding back to me in a huge rush; Macy, Lauryn, Lainey … Rob. Shit.

Moaning … why the hell was I hearing moaning? I didn’t feel Rob on me. I willed my eyes to open, and slowly, blindingly, they did.

“Oh. My. God,” I mumbled to myself quietly.

Sick, rolling stomach sickness rushed through my body. I felt the bile rise from my throat, but I pushed it back down, not wanting to draw any attention to myself.

&nbs
p; Lying in front of me was Rob’s bare ass. Naked on her hands and knees, Macy was on the receiving end of Rob’s hard thrusts inside of her. The slapping of skin was echoing through the barn. But, as I listened … it was Macy moaning.

  What. The. Fuck.

This wasn’t an attack—no, she wanted it. My mind began spinning. This couldn’t be right. Confusion was encompassing me, and I felt my breathing pick up. Rob must have heard it because he turned his head over his shoulder. “Like what you see, honey? You’re next.” He winked and kept pounding into Macy.

Not being able to stomach anymore, I looked over at Lauryn and Lainey. Their eyes wide with fear, they stared at me. I mouthed, “It’ll be okay.” But that didn’t seem to register with them. Who the hell could blame them?

Lauryn had a large gash above her right eye that was bleeding down her face. Her hair was ratted and messy as if she had been pulled by it.

Lainey seemed to be worse off. Her eyes were only slits, almost swollen shut. A trickle of blood ran down her chin from her busted lip.

God, he’d hit them. He’d fucking hit them.

Anger surged though me, but I kept it in check. They were alive. I needed to figure out how the hell to get us out of this. Feeling my hands behind my back, they were tied with rope. Assuming it was like the kind the girls had on theirs, I began to slowly try to undo the knot, but whoever tied it, knew how to tie.

My legs were also tied together, but my mouth was free. A loud smack had my attention turning back to Rob. He was hitting Macy very hard on the ass. I didn’t know if I should feel bad for her or angry with her. Everything was utterly confusing. Then silence. Rob screamed my name as he came in Macy.

  What. The. Fuck.

Rob pushed Macy with strong force down to the ground. “Get off me.” His anger pulsated through him.

Macy scurried up to her knees. “Rob, you love me, not her.” Her words were almost a plea.

“I don’t love you. You’re a whore and a piece of ass when I didn’t want to take it from Sadie. Believe me, you are not Sadie.” His words made my insides churn. How long had they been sleeping together?

“You do love me. You can’t stand that bitch.” Her eyes glared at me. Sadness rushed through me. When did my best friend, become not my best friend? I didn’t look away from her, but I wasn’t going to say a word.
