“Vintor,” she cried out as he dove at her pussy, his tongue lashing at her clit with maniacal enthusiasm.

She attempted to squirm up the bed to get away from the ravenous way he ate her pussy. His hands tightened on her hips in a bruising grip and he growled in warning. The vibration lit her up. Her fingers tangled in his hair and she vacillated between holding him close and attempting to push him away. Her legs wrapped around his head and started to quake uncontrollably.

  “Vintor, please, God, I need…”

He was on her so fast she squeaked in surprise. His massive body pressed her into the mattress as his mouth descended on her throat. The instant he bit down on the crook of her neck and his drug-laced saliva reached her blood stream, she tipped over the edge and orgasmed.

Vintor thrust his thick cock into her vagina and met resistance, her pussy was spasming so hard, and he was unreasonably large. He curled and rocked his pelvis, working his arousal deeper. Maya tossed her head from side to side as he stretched her wide, each one of the knots on his shaft making her orgasm spiral. Vintor’s jaw tightened as he pumped more of the illicit drug into her. It was too much. She cried out as another orgasm rolled over her before the first subsided.

Her pussy clamped down on his burrowing cock. Vintor growled into her shoulder as his hips bucked in response. She keened at the bite of pain mixed with mind-altering pleasure. Vintor stopped cold.

“Maya?” he rasped, his husky voice laced with concern.

  “Don’t stop,” she cried.

Maya reached down and gripped his tight ass, her nails digging in as she attempted to goad him on. A deep, guttural groan tore from her throat as he thrust, burying himself to the hilt. He froze again and closed his eyes.

“Maya, I’m having a hard time holding it together. You are nothing like what I’m used to. The way you’re gripping me. So wet,” he haltingly growled the words.

“So, don’t.” She didn’t want him to hold back.

She had a soul-deep conviction he wouldn’t hurt her. He hadn’t when he was drugged and truly had no control of himself. Besides, he was driving her crazy with the way his pulsing cock, crammed deep inside her, remained so still. Maya rocked her hips while rhythmically squeezing her inner muscles, making him jerk. Vintor’s eyes snapped opened as a feral snarl reverberated his chest, shaking her whole body. Before the wild look in his eyes had her questioning her sanity, Maya lunged forward and bit down on his shoulder as she raked her nails down his back.

Vintor roared as he bit her other shoulder, injecting her with a massive dose of his erotic venom. He pulled out and thrust forward, the knots on his shaft dragging across every nerve in her soaked pussy. She spasmed hard as he instantly drove her to the brink. It only spurred him on. Her heels dug into Vintor’s straining tight ass as he hammered into her with abandon. With each punishing stroke his thick crown shoved at the recesses of her vagina, kicking off an orgasm far deeper and darker than anything she’d ever known. He grunted and snarled, the bed slamming rhythmically into the wall. Maya bit harder on his shoulder to keep from screaming in ecstasy as she writhed beneath him.

He was over her, in her, all she could feel, see and hear. Even his heady musk enveloped her, burrowing deep and overwhelming every sense. There was nothing else that mattered. Every muscle in her body seized, her toes and fingers curling as she hit that wondrous peak. All the chaos and endless searching stopped in that instant. It was like the heavens opened and the sun shone only for them. In the distance she heard Vintor roar and smiled. Or maybe that was a cry of bliss that twisted her lips.

“I love you,” she murmured as she let the rapture pull her into oblivion, where there was no tomorrow, only this moment.

10 Oh Brother Where Art Thou

  Vintor quo Fortis

Morning light filtered in through the curtains, rousing Vintor from the most glorious dream. A grin plastered his face despite the list of problems that seemed to be growing by the minute. He didn’t know how he was going to find Ashtoret, Abby, and her father, if Brennan was still on their side considering Ashtoret’s antics. Hopefully when he did manage to reach them, they’d be able to contact Aculus in the main ship stationed on the moon. Undoubtedly Aculus would have a way to retrieve the cruiser the humans confiscated, he was very resourceful. And then maybe they could salvage the original mission to hide Earth from the Jurou Biljana. But all that paled next to the threat the humans posed to themselves. If Maya’s government managed to create this deadly virus from her research, then no amount of cloaking would help the planet. However, at the moment none of that mattered.

She loves me. My bonded loves me.

The image of Maya murmuring those words while lost in the throes of passion was a sight he’d carry with him all the days of his life. The way her kiss-swollen lips parted, her head thrown back as she gasped the sentiment was burned into his brain. He never fathomed she’d ever accept him with the way they met. And he never imagined his mate would be so damn hot. Now he understood why his friends lost their minds over their human mates. It wasn’t just her body with all its curves and erogenous zones, it was also her brazenness inside the bedroom and out. He was getting hard just thinking about her.

Vintor rolled over and reached out for Maya. His eyes snapped open when he found the spot beside him empty. His gaze shot to the open washroom door, but she wasn’t there. He was out of the bed in an instant, tugging aside the fabric on the window. He couldn’t see her outside their room either.

  “Maya, what have you done?”

Her spot on the bed had grown cold, and her scent had faded in the room. She’d been gone for quite a while and he’d been so blissed out he hadn’t even stirred when she left.

“Son of a metcor,” he snarled, recalling the adamant way she insisted on going to her dwelling alone, fearing for his safety.

He’d just been ecstatic that Maya loved him, but it was that love that sent her running into danger without him.

“Damn bold humans.” Vintor paced the room, his fists clenched.

Every one of the human females he knew were too brave for their own good. They didn’t seem to realize or care how delicate they were, flinging themselves headlong into danger like a seasoned warrior. Maya was proving to be no different. It was bad enough when dealing with his friends, but she was his mate, the one thing bringing him hope when everything was stacked against him.

“Well don’t just stand here like an imbecile,” he growled at himself. He needed to get to her before she walked into the line of fire, except her home was too far to travel on foot.

Vintor froze in the middle of the room. There was one person he knew who might help him who wasn’t that far away. Vintor threw on his clothes, including the mask. He double-checked his reflection to make sure his tail was well hidden then bolted out the door, following the route he recalled to the youth center.

Please be there, he silently begged Maya’s brother.

Vintor pushed himself harder than he ever had back when his regiment marched into battle. This time it wasn’t his life on the line or some foolish victory, no, this was far more important. His lungs and muscles burned as his feet beat the pavement. He was overdressed for the hot, humid air and sweat poured down him, soaking the layers he wore to shield his appearance from the people going about their business. But even if they looked at him odd he wouldn’t have noticed or bothered to stop. They didn’t matter.

Gary’s recreation center wasn’t that far away, but still it felt like forever before the two-story building came into view. He swiftly entered the side door leading to the large room where the youth played.

“Anyone here for breakfast, it’s ready,” Gary announced to the young who quickly ran through a set of double doors into another room set up with tables.

Gary glanced toward him and froze, his easygoing expression shifting in an instant. Vintor pointed toward the male’s study and headed that way without bothering to see if Gary followed.

  How am I go
ing to tell him what’s happened? The language barrier was damn frustrating.

Vintor toiled over the problem as he entered the study. He needed to get his point across and fast. He looked at the paper on Gary’s desk.

I should’ve learned to write their language. But he hadn’t. Maybe he could draw a picture of some sort. And what exactly are you going to draw, idiot? He couldn’t draw, period.

“I didn’t expect to see you guys this morning. Where’s Maya?” Gary asked as he shut the door.

Vintor pulled off his mask and looked at Gary sideways.

“Oh, right. Do you guys need a ride somewhere?”

“That’s it.” Vintor pointed at Gary as he nodded emphatically.

“Wait. How’d you get here?” Gary looked Vintor up and down. “Did you run?”

Vintor was about to nod when there was a loud noise outside the office.

  Maya

Maya balanced the two cups of coffee and the carryout bag chocked full of pancakes and bacon as she opened the door to their motel room.

“Time to get up, sleepy head. I brought breakfast.”

She stopped. Vintor wasn’t in bed or the bathroom and his clothes were gone.

  He went looking for me.

She ran out to the parking lot and looked around.

“Why didn’t I wake him and tell him what I was doing?” She should’ve since the restaurant ended up being busier than she expected, but she figured it would be quicker if she popped around the corner alone.

The phone Gary gave her rang and Maya jumped. She fished it out of her pocket.

“Gary?” He was the only one she could think of who had this number.

“No, Ms. Roberts, it’s me, Tony?”

“Tony, it’s not a good time.” She frowned, wondering why the teenager was calling her.

“I saw your friend. I shouldn’t talk over the phone. Where are you?” he hissed, sounding panicked.

Maya anxiously shifted from one foot to the other as she debated what to do. She wasn’t sure what the hell was going on, where Vintor went or how Tony had seen him. She also wasn’t quite sure about this kid. He’s seemed good-natured, but she also doubted his ability to keep his mouth shut. If he’d spoken to the wrong people...

“They’ve got Gary,” Tony added when she didn’t immediately reply.

Her eyes widened as the sick feeling in the pit of her stomach deepened.

“I’m at the Budget Motel.” She’d just have to take the risk and see where this was going. What other leads did she have?

“I’m not far from there,” Tony said and hung up.

Maya watched the parking lot, praying she’d made the right move. She didn’t have long to agonize before a beat up gray station wagon pulled into the lot with Tony behind the wheel. She waited for a minute, watching the road to see if he was followed, not that she was some super spy and would notice. Tony’s eyes were wild as she approached the car. There was definitely something wrong. She glanced in the back to make sure no one was hiding there before getting in.

“Ms. Roberts, they got Gary and the red dude.” Tony’s hands shook as he pulled through the lot and back out onto the street.

“Slow down. Exactly what did you see?” she asked calmly, although she felt anything but. The kid was freaked out and she was the adult. If she didn’t get him to relax he was liable to wreck the car.

“I was headed to the center to play ball and when I passed there were a ton of black SUVs. These dudes in black were hauling Gary out.” Tony took several deep breaths.

“What about Vintor? You said you saw my friend.”

“They had something over his head, but I’m pretty sure it was him. I don’t know anybody that big. They were dragging him. It looked like he was hurt or something.” Tony looked at her with concern in his eyes. “This is real bad, isn’t it?”

“Watch the road!” she screeched then breathed a sigh of relief when the kid quickly returned his attention to traffic. “I’m not gonna lie to you. This is not good. So, none of the Feds saw you, right?”

“No. I didn’t pull into the parking lot. I just kept going.”

“Good. Tony, I hate that you’re in the middle of this, you’re just a kid, but I really don’t have anyone else. I’ve got to get some things from my house and I’m going to need your help.”

A plan to get Vintor and her brother back was starting to formulate in her head but it all hinged on getting into her condo.

  Vintor quo Fortis

Vintor memorized the turns they took through the bland corridors. It wasn’t surprising the human warriors brought him to a new facility, since they’d damaged the one he’d originally been imprisoned in. This place was also located at their military stronghold, but it was different. They didn’t seem to be holding other species here, since he couldn’t smell any lingering scents from anyone but the humans. If anything, there was a metallic zing in the air, the kind that came from electronics. He could taste it on his tongue. But that didn’t interest him. He was looking for a particular scent—Maya.

“Move or I’ll have them light your ass up again,” General Frank growled.

The human warriors threatened Vintor with the electrified sticks to get him moving. Walking with chains around his wrists and ankles was difficult. His muscles were still cramping from the repeated shocks it took to subdue him at Gary’s youth center.

“If we didn’t need you I’d blow your brains out right now.” Frank waved the weapon held by his good arm.

Vintor smirked at the male. The general would have a lasting memory courtesy of their encounter in the tunnel. Vintor was surprised the male hadn’t already shot him with the primitive disrupter in retaliation for breaking his arm.

Strangely, it was good to see the general. If Maya was captured attempting to return to her home, Frank would know, and he’d know where she was being held.

“Look, I don’t know what’s going on. I’m...” Another coughing fit silenced the story Gary tried to relate yet again. The gas the humans used at the youth center was still affecting him.

Vintor didn’t blame Gary for trying to distance himself from the bleak situation. Maya made her brother promise to tell the authorities whatever he needed to save himself. Vintor regretted getting Gary involved. Returning to the youth center was foolish, but he didn’t know how else to reach Maya before she got herself captured. The human authorities must’ve already suspected he and Maya turned to her brother for aid, since they raided the building so soon after he arrived.

“Holy shit,” Gary choked and gaped as they entered a large hangar.

  Vintor looked up and paused.

  My cruiser.

The sleek silver vessel sat in the middle of the warehouse surrounded by other equipment and personnel. From the looks of it they’d been unsuccessful getting in. Vintor glanced at the hangar doors. If he could access the cruiser he could breach them no problem. But how could he do that with Gary to worry about and he had to find Maya first?

“Sit down and shut up, Mr. Roberts. Unlike this big bastard, I have absolutely no reason to keep you alive,” Frank barked.

Gary snapped his mouth shut as the black-garbed warriors shoved him into a chair.

Frank turned to Vintor. “Now, don’t test my patience and open this ship,” he snarled.

“I open the cruiser and then what?” Vintor growled angrily at the general.

Every muscle in his body seized as electricity arced up his spine. The two humans continued jabbing him in the ribs with the staffs even after he dropped to his knees. Vintor grit his teeth against the pain, refusing to make a sound. When they finally eased up he extended his hand and flicked up his middle finger, making the defiant gesture his human friends taught him. Another searing jolt shot through him, but he expected as much and braced himself.

“Enough,” Frank hollered. “Open the ship or Dr. Roberts’ brother gets it.” The general held his weapon to Gary’s head.

  Son of metcor.

&n
bsp; He had no doubt the general would kill Gary in an instant if he didn’t get what he wanted. Maya would be devastated, yet he still couldn’t give in. He needed to stall them. Vintor was certain they confiscated everything he’d brought. If they thought he needed his handheld to access the vessel, that would buy him time come up with a plan and he could send a message to the others. Vintor pointed to his wrist and then the cruiser, pantomiming typing on his wrist, hoping like torment the bastard understood.

“Open it!” Frank bellowed and aimed his disrupter at Vintor.

“It appears he needs something. Jesus, Frank, the vice president is on his way. Do you think you can keep from killing the only decent source of intel we have, especially since you managed to lose the other subjects this morning?”

“Oh hell! That’s the Secretary of Defense,” Gary mumbled. “And the vice president. Shit,” he exclaimed when a second, gray-haired male entered the hangar.

Vintor glanced at the pair. It was clear by the way everyone reacted that these males were in charge. They weren’t in uniforms like the other warriors. One wore a black jacket, the other one blue, and matching breeches that looked too delicate to do physical labor. Both had these odd wide ropes around their necks. The things were just like nooses, waiting for him to get free to tug out the slack and cut off their air. Vintor smiled at the notion.

“Would you like to explain that comment?" the vice president asked the secretary and general as he eyed Vintor critically.

“Mr. Vice President, I'm sorry to report the missile attack yesterday was unsuccessful in preventing the escape of the five vessels at the detention facility," General Frank reported.

“He’s already been briefed on that debacle,” the Secretary of Defense interjected.

“Yes, General Offutt, I’m well aware of the total and utter fuck-up that occurred yesterday and how many good men we sacrificed. What I was asking about was this morning’s recovery attempt. I’m not here just to spout the nonsense about a training exercise gone wrong for the TV reporters. I want to hear what we’re facing straight from the horse’s mouth,” the vice president huffed.
