  The Back Nine

A lot can happen on the back nine of a golf course, especially if your focus is not on the ball. Alec Marino has been building his clientele list in Cozumel’s most exclusive golf resorts while keeping his private life confidential.

Brooke Carmichael’s life revolves around one thing: her career. Her bed is like a permanent sand trap—depressing and empty. When a business trip leads Brooke to the sunny island where she is ready and willing to learn something new, she decides to take a swing at golf. Some temptations are too delicious to resist and one stroke from Alec sends Brooke’s entire world into a backspin.

Blinded by desire, Alec goes against his own rules and makes Brooke and offer she can’t refuse. As secrets begin to surface, Alec and Brooke must decide if they will let it drive them apart or if mixing work and pleasure will score a hole in one.

  Chapter One

The sun’s rays cast ripples of light against the blades of hard grass as Brooke’s eyes focused on the beads of perspiration forming underneath Alec’s neckline. Her chest was heated. She let out a breath and her breasts sank for a moment from their at-attention point. Brooke’s nipples were pushing past the lace in her bra, almost trying to tear the threads. Her pulse was beating rapidly. The tips of her fingers were dancing a rhythm of desire.

Alec’s massive hands were wrapped around the shaft with a firm grip. Whack, he took a swing. The ball soared in the sky, almost disappearing in the clouds. A smile flashed across his face as his eyes met Brooke’s. Her chest tightened. She took in deep breath, as if bringing in more air would loosen the ropes of lust wrapped around her insides.

“Your turn,” Alec said as he ran his hands through his dark hair. He put his club back in the bag. Brooke nodded. Her eyes scanned the silver clubs sticking up from the back of her bag. They were shiny and new, hardly ever used…just like her. Brooke selected the nine iron from her light pink bag. Her neck tightened as she grimaced at the white monogram embroidered across the front: “B-B-C”. It was her first-year anniversary gift from Marshall. A hefty bonus or even a raise would have been ideal, but instead she got a set of golf clubs. Working for Marshall Masterson did have its perks, but a new golf bag was not one of them. Marshall Masterson was one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs to make it in Texas oil without an ancient family history. Given this, he could increase Brooke’s salary ten fold and his bank account wouldn’t even move a decimal place. Her salary as a personal assistant was decent, but not large. Being able to travel all over the world was supposed to have been fun, but in reality it was lonesome. They were hardly ever in Texas. Brooke hadn’t had a relationship since she began working for him three years ago. She had never been the one-night stand kind of gal. Yet, watching Alec’s muscles move underneath his polo shirt and snugly fitting khaki shorts made her want to break her pattern, just once. Besides, she was far away from anyone she knew, in an entirely different country, an island no less, Cozumel.

The nine iron was warm. A glance up at the sky and not a cloud in sight, nothing but a barren of blue. It was as if it were a sign to go for it. All the clouds had disappeared. The rays of the sun were bright, blinding even. But the temperature could only have been mid-eighties at most. Maybe the heat was coming from her hands, as she was definitely getting hot. Brooke tossed the club from one hand to the next. Had she made the right decision? Was the nine iron the right club for this tee? Her stomach tightened as she sauntered onto the green, and the grass made crunchy sounds with each step. Brooke glanced back at Alec. He was watching all right. His police officer blues inspecting her every move. He could arrest her with his pupils. The club slipped in her hands, and she gripped it tighter and swallowed.

The careful attention from Alec couldn’t strictly be on a professional level. He was studying her body in ways that wouldn’t assist in her golf swing. Brooke let out a sigh and slowly dropped her ball. Alec marched up behind her and grabbed the club from her hand. He stroked it and nodded before handing it back to her. Brooke took in
a deep breath, her chest rose and fell, pushing past the cloth shirt she had specifically chosen to wear today. A thin button-down blouse, with buttons that could easily be popped open. If she so desired.

“Open your stance. Wider. Spread your legs farther apart,” Alec commanded as he knelt down, placing his heavy hands on Brooke’s ankles, forcing her legs to move.

Brooke’s heart was racing, beating faster than she could ever remember. Definitely nothing she had experienced with any other man. Alec was creating a ripple of pulsating beats in her chest and his hands were only on her ankles. She pursed her lips together and exhaled. This one-on-one attention was a bit more than she had imagined when she had signed up for private golf lessons. Of course the idea had been Marshall’s. He first said it was to give her an opportunity to increase her skill set. He wanted her to be able to golf alone with him. The idea of more one-on-one time with Marshall did not excite Brooke, but the hot golf instructor did, and she happily signed her name on the form.

Alec stood up and placed his arms over Brooke’s. A cascade of tingles swarmed over her body. The hair at the nape of her neck sprung up. Thankfully, she had worn it down today and Alec wouldn’t be able to see how excited she was. He covered his hands over her skin, forming a heavy embrace. Brooke gripped the shaft, and her palms were moist. She moved them up and down to get a better grasp on the club and took a deep breath. The ball was glaring back up at her. Daring her to hit it, hard.

“Loosen up your grip. You don’t want to hold it that tight,” Alec said into her ear. His words were like sun burning its rays into her neck. Brooke’s stomach clenched. She loosened her fingers and took in another long breath. Brooke’s breasts jiggled underneath her shirt. Her nipples were protruding beneath the cotton. Along with her thin shirt, she had specifically chosen to wear her favorite pink lacy bra. Even the lace wasn’t much of a camouflage. It definitely didn’t provide adequate coverage. She liked being able to see her areolas through the laced thread. Brooke smiled. Even without a mirror, she knew how she must appear in front of Alec. Her lips pouted. He was behind her and couldn’t see her perfectly formed nipples. Brooke wanted to turn around and see if Alec would notice. She wanted to see if he would stare or would he look away. Brooke shrugged.

Their fingers were entangled. This was the type of closeness she wanted. Her hands covered by Alec’s large fingers. His skin was rough, but she was glad he wasn’t wearing a glove. The skin-to-skin contact was what she needed. His legs were pushed against her behind. There was no denying that the hardness brushing against her was not Alec’s upper thigh muscles. Brooke’s breasts rose and fell as she exhaled.

Alec stepped back “Go ahead and take a swing.”

Brooke complied with his request and hit the ball directly on. It soared high into the powder-blue sky. The shiny white ball was like a dove releasing itself into the world, not caged in. It was free. She wished she could be like the ball, free to go and do whatever she wanted. Brooke wanted to fly as high as her ball. To be taken to that thrilling level on or off the course.

Wow. That was the best shot she had ever made. Her ball was really soaring. The lessons were definitely paying off. This was only her second one. The first one was just at the range. Surrounded by other golfers. Alec hadn’t given her the same one-on-one attention as he was giving her right now. The area between her legs tingled.

Yes, this must be something he saved for when he was instructing on the course only. She couldn’t imagine that any husbands or boyfriends would be okay with Alec’s muscular body against their wives or girlfriends. Marshall probably didn’t even consider this when he insisted she take the lessons. Though he had never made an official advance Brooke was sure of Marshall’s desires. It was pretty clear that he wanted Brooke to assist him in a non-professional way.

“Nicely done, you hit the sweet spot.”

She laughed, “The sweet spot.” Brooke licked her lips. There was a sweet spot she wanted to hit, and it was not a white round ball. She swallowed. Her mouth was wet. Brooke wanted to forego any insecurities and drop to her knees. The desire to pleasure Alec on the green was burning inside of her. She imagined her lips parting and taking his massive erection in her mouth and farther down her throat. A swarm of bees flew along her insides.

“That’s the center of the ball. You hit it right on target.” Alec took her club and placed it back in the bag. He towered over her. Brooke inspected his large body. His shoulders rounded out and followed by big biceps, biceps that Brooke wouldn’t have been able to encircle her hands around. But she could imagine Alec wrapping his arms around her. Enclosing her in his big muscular arms. She sighed.

“Let me ask you something, Brooke. When you signed up for lessons were you wanting to improve your golf game or something else?” Alec stared at Brooke with a raised eyebrow. His eyes darkened as if he had switched from day to night. He was teaching her how to play golf, but it was her turn to tee up. Her throat was dry. His question caught her off guard. She rubbed her lips.

“What do you mean something else?” Brooke blinked her eyelashes. Would he mind if she gripped his shaft?

“Well, I think your swing is improving, but I think something isn’t fitting right. I’m not talking about the buttons that always come undone on your blouse,” Alec said as he twirled the button on her shirt. His knuckles brushed up against her breasts. Her nipples were spiked high and begging to be touched. Oh, he had her attention all right. Completely undivided attention, and she wanted his. She glanced down at his fingers, letting them linger longer than necessary, and cast her gaze up at Alec.

“Are you suggesting that I might be interested in a different shaft?” Brooke asked, running her finger along the top of his shorts. The bulge forming at the seam of his zipper was calling out to her. She tugged on his khaki shorts. Brooke wanted to trace the outline of the large formation, but she hesitated.

“Did I not choose the right club?” Brooke asked as she slowly unbuttoned the top of his shorts. Alec’s eyes were burning down on her. His eyes gave away his desires. A desire that she wanted to capitalize on. Today was not going to be a day where she modeled herself after a good girl.

Alec reached for her hand. “Brooke, don’t start something that you aren’t ready to finish,” he warned.

“So, now you doubt me?” Brooke asked as she tossed several golf tees across the green. Alec’s eyebrows raised in curiosity. Why would she scatter the little wooden sticks on the course? The only thing he wanted to do was lift Brooke from the course, not pick up a mess. Her skirt shifted back and forth as she sashayed across the green. The curve of her bottom was perfect. Alec imagined grabbing a handful of her ass and squeezing it tight as he thrusted himself into her. Brooke slowly bent down to pick a golf tee up as if she was winning a contest for killing his patience. Her pleated skirt barely covered her behind as she reached for the tee. Brooke’s tan legs were the type of legs you would see on a tanning salon advertisement, and he wanted them wrapped around his waist. Alec bit his lip. It was the only thing he could do to remind himself that she was a client. An important client. She needed to remain hands-off. Even though he wanted hands-on, all over her voluptuous body. Damn, why did she have to be so curvy? Why couldn’t she have been one of those thin women that are always hitting on him? He knew how to push their advances away. But Brooke was different. There was something about her that made his cock rock hard. Having such little control over his lust was unusual for Alec. His member was pulsating, wanting to be freed from his shorts and make its way to Brooke and slide in between her thighs. Damn.

Was it her age that intrigued him? He hadn’t been with a younger woman in a while. He had given up on the immaturity fucks over more savory ones. Like women who knew their way around the bedroom. The way Brooke swayed her hips gave away her skill set. She obviously knew how to make her body move in ways he wanted to experience firsthand. Brooke might have talent, but Alec wanted to show her things and stretch her limits. He wanted to please her and
make her scream his name. Alec wanted to hear Brooke calling for him to stop and give her a moment to catch her breath, but he wouldn’t. Alec knew the moment when a woman asks for a second is when you give her more, that moment of intensity is where she reaches the ultimate climax. He wanted to take Brooke there. There was no way Marshall Masterson was teaching her anything. That guy was the biggest tool bag Alec had ever encountered.

Brooke moved to the next tee and bent down to pick it up. This time facing him, her focus was intense. The color of her eyes had changed from a brown sugar to a dark-chocolate molten lava. It was almost as if he could see the flames of her desire flickering in them. Her cheeks were flush as she parted her lips. Alec cocked his head to the right and bit his index finger. Damn she was hot. A simple task of picking up golf tees was throwing his cock into a tailspin of throbbing pulses underneath his shorts. Except she wasn’t merely picking up some golf tees. Brooke was making a show of her body like she was an art piece on exhibit. Every move of her legs and Alec was given a view of her pink panties. With each bend her blouse was offering a first-class ticket to eye her lacy pink demi-bra that held her jiggling breasts. Damn, he wanted more than a view of her body. He wanted to reach under Brooke’s skirt and slide her panties down her tan firm legs and pleasure her until she screamed his name. He almost didn’t care if Marshall found out. Almost.

Brooke alternated between bending over backward or forward, as if she was choosing which one of her assets she wanted to enhance as she gave Alec a slow and seductive show of her body and flexibility. The balance and control she held with each move was burying any control Alec had over the blood rushing in his veins. With each stretch her skirt lifted higher, showing off her rounded behind. His teeth bit down hard on his lip. He wanted to sink his teeth into her supple breasts and tug on her nipples. Alec imagined his teeth nibbling at her skin, toying with her, until she reached her climax. Yes, he wanted her. Bad.
