His Lawyer Purely Angel: A Billionaire and Virgin Romance Page 3

by Claire Angel

This is some dark magic going on here.

“Teach me,” he said but this time he had a genuine smile on his face. He reminded me of a kid who knew he’s about to get his treat. I sighed at this troublesome guy and said “Fine, you can start by stirring the sauce.” For an hour it was just Eric and I cooking in silence. I would only speak when I would teach him how to do something. And true to his word he was a fast learner.

When dinner was finished we directly got our share and sat at the table. “So about your case…” And just as usual he interrupted me. “Do you sisters visit here often?” he asked.

“I think it’s more important to talk about your case. Besides, aren’t you worried about any of this?” I asked because he’s been dodging the topic about his case lately. I was expecting him to give a nonchalant answer or a casual excuse to change the topic but instead his grip on his fork lessened. His head bowed down making me not able to see the expression on his face but judging by the tone of his voice it wasn’t a happy one.

“I am worried… more than you’ll ever know,” he started off. “But I also know that I’m innocent. I like distracting myself because I think about it every day. So, I like not talking about it because it will only make me more worried.” “I’m positively sure that whoever framed me will get what he deserves. He or she will pay” his voice suddenly grew strong.

“So…” I said trying to find a different topic we could talk about. “I know you have no girlfriend and that none of the girls you hang out with doesn’t want to be near you. But don’t you have any family members to stay with? I know you’re not staying with your uncle because he’s a member of the board but why don’t you stay with your sister?”

“My sister is somewhere in Canada, hiding from the media. I know that she’s safe because Asher made sure she had a bodyguard,” he answered. I even noticed the glint in his eyes when he talked about his sister, she must mean a great deal to him. I can’t exactly picture him as the caring older brother.

“What about you? Besides your sister do you have any family members? Boyfriends?” he asked. Like a flip of a switch he was suddenly grinning. I blushed at the word boyfriends, for some reason I remembered what happened last night with Eric and that almost kiss moment. It was the only moment in my life that relates to the word love life.

  “No boyfriends,” I curtly said.

  “Family?” he asked.

That’s when my heart broke. I may not seem like it but I terrified of crossing a street especially when there’s cars. The fork in my hands started shaking and I knew that Eric noticed.

“My dad walked out on my sisters and I once I hit adulthood. My mom on the other hand…” I wasn’t able to finish. I knew that if I finished that sentence then I would end up crying. Without even realizing a lone tear made its way down my face, and in an instant Eric was beside me. His hands were on my face as his thumb wiped away the tear. “You don’t have to tell me.” he calmly said.

I shook my head, mentally scolding myself for showing weakness.

“It’s actually silly,” I told him but deep down inside I knew it wasn’t. “I was playing with my ball when I was little. It somehow rolled in the middle of the road and when I went to retrieve it I didn’t see a fast car coming my way. Next thing I knew I was on the other side of the road crying from the scratches on my knees from falling. Then I noticed that my mom was in the middle of the road… there’s was a lot of blood. She was able to push me out of the way the last minute. She saved me. It’s because of me that she died.”

I didn’t know why I was able to spill my guts to Eric. It was as if my whole being was comfortable with him being here. Can you be nervous and comfortable all at the same time?

My mind was suddenly distracted as I realized the distance between our lips was almost nonexistent. My whole face was burning up, I felt like smoke was steaming out of my ears. My heart was going crazy that I no longer can say that it was just heartburn… Maybe it’s a heart attack?

  Who am I kidding?

I’m a woman who was always first in class and had perfect grades. Now that I’m a lawyer I clearly knew what this was. These symptoms were too obvious but I’ll do what a lawyer is good at, arguing.

Eric’s a notorious womanizer and I should know that I was no different than the other women he’s been with.

These feelings are all too new to me so it could only be from the opposite sex being near me. So it has nothing to do with Eric himself just his presence makes me nervous.

Mentally satisfied, I calmly stood up from the table completely ignoring Eric’s presence as I took my plate to the sink.

  “Evangeline?” he called out.

“I do apologize for getting too emotional Mr. Anderson. If you’re done with your plate then I can start washing it.” I said without turning around to face him. As I walked away I mentally pat myself on the back.

  Chapter 5

  Eric

I smirked as I stared at Eva’s retreating form. She truly was something. My heart was beating fast just by being near her that in a span of just a few seconds I’ve become addicted to it. Now I want to be near her all the time. It was surely going to be a challenge but just imagining being by her side at the end makes me want to face it head on.

“You can relax in the living room while I clean up here. If there’s a knock on the door it’s probably going to be that spare key of yours.” Eva called out. But I didn’t want to go and relax, I wanted to be in the kitchen right beside her. I ignored what she said as I entered the kitchen but as soon as I entered I immediately knew why she wanted me to go to the living room.

She took off her sweater leaving her in a loose tank top. I could see her baby pink bra strap, and it gave me a lovely view of her milky skin. Almost like I was in a trance I found my fingers trailing up her arm. She instantly tensed at my touch but I noticed that shiver of hers.

“What… What are you doing?” she stuttered. She didn’t even turn her head to look at me. Her skin was soft, I wanted to touch more. I didn’t answer her as my other hand started caressing her arms and not too long after my other hand joined in and caressed the other arm of hers. She held a bubbly sponge in one hand, and a wet plate in the other.

When both of my hands were caressing her arms she dropped the sponge in the sink. “Mr. Anderson?” her voice was still stuttering. I then remembered her shampoo. I removed one hand of mine from her arm and reached towards her hair to undo her bun making her hair tumble down in waves. I then leaned forward to bury my face into her hair, smelling that sweet tangy orange scent of hers.

The smell was overwhelming, her touch was addicting, and I wanted nothing more than to ravish the woman.

She suddenly dropped the plate into the sink making it split in half. Just as the plate landed in the sink three things happened so fast that Evangeline was rendered speechless.

First, I spun her in my arms so she was facing me.

Second, I buried one hand in her hair and the other was wrapped around her tiny waist. And lastly, I pressed my lips against hers. Our lips didn’t move against each other but I practically moaned at the feeling of her soft sweet lips against mine. It was pure bliss. Kissing her felt different than all the others I kissed before. Her lips were tensed against mine, I could feel that she’s shocked. I smirked as I started moving my lips against her stiffed ones.

She didn’t kiss back and I didn’t mind. Both of her hands were still up as if she was still holding the sponge and plate. I didn’t want to push her too much since it was pretty obvious that she wasn’t that into me. I pulled away but I leaned forward to whisper in her ear “You should really give into me.” As if she was just getting back to her senses she pushed me away and glared at me. Not only was she glaring but she was blushing crimson red as well.

“What the hell are you doing Eric?” her voice sounded shaky. I even noticed that she dropped the formalities and used my first name which rolled off her tongue so perfectly. I could only fantasize her s
houting my name over and over again, practically screaming it would be the correct term.

  “I’m sorry,” I casually said.

“I just couldn’t help myself at the sight of your skin.”

“You know it’s inappropriate to have any sort of romantic relationship with your lawyer let alone kissing.” she explained as if she was reading a manual. Before I could get any words out she was already saying something. “Besides, Angel sent a spare key and it should arrive any moment now. You can go back to their place.” she said as she tore her gaze away from me. I can’t say that I wasn’t hurt because I was. I immensely enjoyed Evangeline’s presence even when she didn’t enjoy mine. I think she loathes it.

“Is that what you want?” I asked her seriously. The chemistry between us was strong and not only that but we both were oozing sexual tension. She might not notice it because she seems to be oblivious to that but I’m an expert in sensing sexual tension.

Her eyes stared down at her feet as she replied “Yes… that’s what I want.” She sounded unsure but I wasn’t going to point that out. The silence around us sounded too loud and the space between us was only agonizing. It was like everything happened in slow motion.

Both of us have finally snapped.

We both dashed towards each other. She crashed into my arms wrapping her slender arms around my neck as I wrapped mine around her tiny waist once more. Our lips interlocked with one another in a searing passionate kiss. I felt utterly ecstatic that she was kissing back. Her kissing back made the kiss even more mind blowing than the first time.

We kissed each other like we were hungry for one another. Even when the kiss was full of hunger it was also filled with passion and desire. I licked her bottom lip but she didn’t open, I licked it one more time but she just continued kissing. I thought she was playing hard to get but it seems like she was oblivious to what it really meant.

I smiled into the kiss as I suddenly lifted her up and guided her long slender legs to wrap themselves around my waist. She gasped at the sudden action which gave me the perfect opportunity to insert my tongue into hers. She seemed to tense at the sudden invasion as well. She tasted sweet it was almost addicting.

I pushed her up against the fridge and once again she gasped at the coldness of her metal fridge which made my dick twitch in excitement just by hearing her gasp out loud. I tried calming down my boner that was about to rage out but French kissing Evangeline and pressing her up against the fridge didn’t help. It was unstoppable.

She felt my hard dick press against her thigh and it was like an alarm that went off in her head as she unwrapped her legs from my waist and harshly pushed me away from her. Both of us were breathing heavily from the kiss. I looked at her but she was looking down at the ground making her hair cover her face.

“I’m sorry, it won’t happen again,” she quickly said as she dashed out of the kitchen and up the stairs not too long after I heard the slamming of her bedroom door. Now I’ve done it.

I just couldn’t keep my hands to myself. I leaned against the counter as I touched my lips that were still tingling. This was a first for me, I never had an after effect when kissing a woman. Somehow, I still felt her lips upon mine.

There are two things that I have just realized. First, Evangeline clearly is not into me. And second, the desire to kiss her lips is stronger than ever.

  Chapter 6

  Eva

“What was that?” I covered my lips with both of my hands as I remembered the touch of his lips against mine. I don’t know what came over me. First, I felt this feeling that consumed every part of me then next I found myself closing the gap between Eric and I.

I can’t believe, I’ve fallen for a womanizer’s trap. This is dangerous territory for me. If I kept falling for his traps then this heartburn of mine will only get worse. I have to find a way to get him away from me. Asher is a freaking CEO why can’t he send somebody to retrieve Eric or send a key faster. I think they’re doing this on purpose. Angel has always been trying to get me to think better of rich high-class people ever since she got engaged to Mr. Maxwell.

I was on the floor with my back against the door and my knees curled in front of me. As if hugging my knees would calm this crazy heart of mine. Suddenly a soft knock sounded from behind me and my whole body tensed as if it just went cold.

“Evangeline?” he called out from behind the door. I could hear my heart beating crazily in this chest of mine just by the sound of his voice calling my name.

“Angel just sent the spare key and I got it,” he said but I didn’t had the strength to reply. My mouth felt dry.

“I’m going to let myself out. Thank you for your hospitality,” he said.

I heard his footsteps leaving my door then I heard the shutting noise of the front door. Once the front door was closed I was able to breathe it was like I was holding my breath. Unexpectedly, I felt an emptiness in my house. My heart clenched painfully.

I need medicine for this heartburn.

It’s been a week now since Eric had spent the night at my house. From our video chatting and calling, it has turned into text messages and emails. Eric tried calling but I always sent him to voicemail, and my excuses were that I have a client over or I am working on a very serious case but the truth is that I am a coward to face him and talk to him.

Asher and Angel are back now and the day to represent Eric’s case is growing near. To say I am nervous about the case would be a huge lie, I am more nervous facing Eric than the board of his company and their lawyer. Being alone for one week has given me time to figure out who is framing Eric.

I asked Angels for help as she had been Eric’s Secretary for a long time. Angel is shocked at my sudden dedication to Eric’s case. She told me that she always had a doubt on Eric’s Uncle, who is the head of the board of directors. Somehow, we managed to get some evidences against Eric’s uncle with the help of some staff members and not to forget Asher….

I was having my lunch on dining table which close to my window as I love to glance out my window to look at my beautiful flowers in my garden but what I didn’t expect was Eric standing right outside my gate staring at my house. My heart started racing at the sight of him making me clutch my chest.

Oh no... Why he has come here? Jesus, I can’t face him.

I hesitantly went to my front door and stepped out to see why Eric has suddenly arrived. His eyes snapped towards me then he unexpectedly showed me a wide smile which made him look more handsome.

“Nice to see you Evangeline. What a coincidence seeing you here,” he said with a laugh as he scratched the back of his head. Does he even realize that he’s at my house?

“What are you doing here Mr. Anderson? I’m busy.” Lie. I just started walking around my house trying to find something to do to keep him off my mind. “I was nearby so decided to visit your house. I was about to knock on your door but you found me first,” he replied.

“In that case, see you on the day of your case Mr. Anderson. I’m quite busy so I apologize if I can’t entertain you,” I said, and before he could reply I already had shut the door.

Two hours passed since then and I continued to read his case over and over just so I won’t miss anything. I went to my small balcony right outside my bedroom with a cup of tea and the papers of Eric’s case.

As I glanced down from my balcony to stare at my garden, once again I gotta shock kind of. What did I saw? Eric. This made me literally spit out my tea. He was sitting in my garden staring above at me. Has he been here for more than two hours? A frown made its way onto my face as I shouted out “What the hell are you still doing here?” You can see that I’ve finally lost my cool.

His head snapped up towards me and instantly smiled at the sight of me. I couldn’t help but burn up.

  “Hey Evangeline!” he said casually.

“Don’t hey me! What are you doing outside of my house?” I asked him as I put aside my cup of tea and papers. It was a mistake to put down the papers becau
se before Eric could say something the wind blew the papers away. I wasn’t able to catch them but Eric managed to chase after all of them. “I got them!” he called out.

He then made his way towards my front door. I went downstairs to open the door but as soon as I opened the door I froze seeing Eric reading the papers with a look of shock on his face. His teasing smile was long gone from his face so is the glint in his eyes back when he was looking at me. Eric standing in front of me looked completely distraught.

“This is the man that framed me?” his voice shook with anger. His eyes screamed fury as they stared at me not wanting to believe what he read.

We had decided to tell him after getting full evidences. One last report was pending which I received on my mail not more than half an hour ago, so I wasn’t prepared for this. He then grabbed my shoulders and gently shook me and asked “Please tell me that this is only a theory!” His voice was filled with boiling anger.

I opened the door wider and said “Please come in… Eric.” His shoulders slumped as he let out a frustrating sigh. He slowly trudged his way into my home. My heart clenched at how he looks. I hated that he felt this way.

He sat down on couch watching at papers and asked “Why didn’t you tell me earlier? And how did you manage to collect these evidence?”

He looked so angry and hurt at the same time. I really don’t know how to explain it to him as I do not want him to grow angrier and to increase his pain. I wanted nothing more than to cheer him up so he can go back to teasing me and sending me those winks of his.

Maybe if I kissed him he would go back to normal but I didn’t have the guts to initiate the kiss. I wanted to hold his hands and hug him. I spent all week avoiding the man, now I wanted nothing more than to be in his arms and make sure a smile is always present on that face of his. What is happening to me. I have seen so many such cases but I never had such feelings.
