A few minutes later, he walked back in, wiping his mouth. At this point, Monique felt no pain. As Danny walked in, the doctor came right after him. A nurse also followed. The nurse put a clear cold gel on her stomach, and a device that transmitted images to a machine. A strong heartbeat was heard. Monique and Danny smiled at each other. The nurse checked for other vital organs and limbs. They were all there and fully developed. “I’ve never seen this before,” said the doctor, with his hand rubbing his chin.
He continued, “Looks like she is fully developed and should weigh ten pounds.”
“Ten pounds!” Monique exclaimed with her eyes wide open.
Danny smirked, and then whispered, “My girl.”
The doctor shook his head in acknowledgment, still looking at the screen and rubbing his chin. The doctor finally accepted it, checked her, and said it was time. It was over quickly and she held her baby girl in her arms. She had his green eyes, and freckles, and Monique’s jet black hair, her fingers and toes. Danny kissed them both with so much exuberance. Monique asked if he wanted to hold her, and he readily said yes. Danny took her carefully from Monique’s grasp. He marveled at her buttercream skin and eyes that looked just like his that stared at him with so much interest. He could tell he would do anything for her and protect her against all odds. The nurse came to take her, and he saw Tara’s eyes turn one green and one red. He smiled, as he was so content.
Tara crawled into the room where Monique and Danny stood getting ready.
“You’re going to ruin your dress,” Monique fussed, picking up a smiling Tara. Her reply was a giggly gurgle. Monique smoothed her blue dress, straightened her white headband and white shoes. They all matched on this special day. A blue suit for him, and a blue dress that flowed at the end with blue gloves and diamond-studded tiara for Monique.
He held out his hand to her and asked, “Are you ready my queen?”
She put her hand in his, while holding Tara on her hip and responded, “Yes, my king.” They walked as a family to the limousine awaiting to take them to his coronation.
