ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My name is Becca Van. I live in Australia with my wonderful hubby of many years, as well as my two children.
I read my first romance, which I found in the school library, at the age of thirteen and haven’t stopped reading them since. It is so wonderful to know that love is still alive and strong when there seems to be so much conflict in the world.
I dreamed of writing my own book one day but, unfortunately, didn’t follow my dream for many years. But once I started I knew writing was what I wanted to continue doing.
I love to escape from the world and curl up with a good romance, to see how the characters unfold and conflict is dealt with. I have read many books and love all facets of the romance genre, from historical to erotic romance. I am a sucker for a happy ending.

Prologue
Two years ago
Lexis Thomas parked her small secondhand car in the visitor parking spot of her sister’s apartment, shut off the engine, got out, and locked her car.
It had been a week exactly since she’d seen Alicia, and though she missed her older sister, who had five years on her, every day since she’d moved into the dorm room at college, she wasn’t about to change her mind and move back in. Her sister had given up so much to take care of her. After their mom had died and she’d graduated from high school, Lexis had decided to give Alicia some space so her sister could have a social life again. Hence her reason for moving into a dormitory.
Lexis was glad she had, because she’d never seen Alicia so happy. Her sister had met a man a month or so ago, and while she hadn’t met her sister’s beau and was eager to do so, she would bide her time and wouldn’t push until Alicia was ready to introduce the new man in her life.
Lexis loved that she and her sister still got together religiously once a week so they could catch up.
As she walked toward her sister’s apartment door, she relished the warm sunshine on her face. Winter had been long, cold, and dreary, and now that spring was in the air, she was going to savor the warmer air and the clear blue sky.
When she noticed the door to Alicia’s apartment door was open, Lexis wondered if her sister had left it open for her or if she was just trying to air the place out. She frowned over the ajar door, because Alicia had always engrained safety into Lexis, even if their neighborhood was a quiet, safe part of Lincoln, Nebraska. As far as she knew, Alicia had never, ever left the door open and unlocked.
Trying to shake off her apprehension, she pushed the door open, calling out as she stepped over the threshold. “Alicia, I’m here.”
She closed and locked the door behind her, turning and gazing about the small living room and then toward the kitchen and dining area. While the apartment wasn’t big, the space was deceptively larger-looking than it was because of the open plan design. Her sister was nowhere to be seen, so after dropping her purse on the two seater sofa, Lexis headed down the small hallway toward the bedrooms. There were only two bedrooms with a bathroom and laundry in between, but it had been home to Lexis and her sister for a long while.
She looked into what used to be her room, which Lexis had converted into a study with a pullout sofa bed against one wall. Everything was in its place, but there was still no Alicia. She peeked into the bathroom but only got a glimpse of part of the room since the door was partially closed as she continued onto her sister’s room.
Fear skated up her spine when she saw the disarray. Clothes were strewn all over the floor and bed. Her sister was a neat freak and the mess was so out of character, her heart began to thud hard and fast and her breathing grew rapid and shallow. After drawing in a deep, ragged breath and holding it for a second or two, she exhaled, stepped further into the room, and gazed about. One of the bedside lamps had been knocked over, and the pillows, quilt, and decorative cushions were a jumbled mess.
Lexis backed out of the room on trembling legs wishing she still had her purse with her so she could call the cops. There was something terribly, terribly wrong, and she was terrified out of her mind that something had happened to Alicia.
Air sawed in and out of her lungs, and she screamed when she bumped into something. She stopped screaming when she landed on her ass on the sofa. Without taking her eyes from the hallway, she rummaged in her purse for her cell phone and swiped her thumb across the screen to activate it.
Just as s
he was about to call 9-1-1 to call the police, she heard a thud, which may have come from the bathroom. Lexis wanted to run outside and scream for help, but instead she watched from above—she felt as if she was having some sort of out of body experience where she had no control over her own actions—she was stumbling toward the bathroom on quaking legs, her hand on the wall to keep herself upright.
Lexis pushed the bathroom door open and stepped into the room. A sob erupted from her mouth when she saw Alicia naked and bloody, lying on the shower base. She didn’t remember moving, but in the next moment, she was on her knees, her sister’s blood soaking into her jeans as she tried to get Alicia to respond.
Her sister just continued to stare sightlessly at the bathroom ceiling.
Everything after that was a blurry haze.
Lexis had no recollection of calling the police, but they arrived and started asking questions she had no answers to.
The pain of her loss was so intense, Lexis went into a deep shock and ended up in the hospital.
Her life as she knew it was over, and nothing would ever be the same again.
Chapter One
Preston Nevin gazed about the Club of Dominance as he sat on a stool at the bar with his lovers and best friends, Adam Carson and Jonah Morris. The sights and sounds of sex and BDSM had his cock at half mast, but before the night was over, he and the others would be blissfully satisfied. However, there was something missing, and after an in-depth discussion with his housemates and boyfriends, they’d all agreed it was time to bring a woman into their relationship. Even though they were all in accord, finding the right female for them was going to be harder than he’d imagined. It was going to take someone special to bring into their midst, someone who was accepting of their unusual lifestyle. Preston wasn’t sure such a person existed, but he wasn’t going to give up searching.
“Evening, gentlemen,” Master Turner Pike greeted.
“Hey, Turner.” Preston shook the club owner’s hand. “How are things?”
Turner smirked. “Things…are great. How about you three?”
“Life’s good.” Adam shrugged.
Turner narrowed his eyes as he stared at each of them for a few heartbeats. “I can hear a ‘but’ in there. Care to tell me what’s wrong? Did you all have a bad day at work?”
“Nothing out of the ordinary,” Jonah answered.
Preston sighed, drawing the observant club owner’s eyes his way. “We want to enrich our relationship with a woman, but we don’t think there’s anyone here that will accept us the way we are.”
“Not true.” Turner shook his head. He turned to gaze about the room, smiling when his eyes alighted at the group of people walking through the second set of doors, which led to the great room. “Excuse me a moment, gentlemen.”
“Don’t Ana and her Doms look happy?” Adam asked.
“They do.” Jonah nodded, sighing with envy.
Preston knew just how his boyfriend felt. They might be lovers, but they weren’t out and out gay. He, Adam, and Jonah were bisexual. While they all loved each other, they’d all also been missing the soft touch of a woman, but Preston wasn’t sure there was a female in their community who’d accept three men making love to each other and want to join in. Experience had left them all jaded, cynical. They’d given up years ago trying to find that special woman they wanted to bring into their midst.
His breath backed up in his lungs when another woman stepped up next to Ana. She was so beautiful, she took his breath away. She was wearing a fitted knee-length skirt and a blue silky blouse, which he had a feeling would match the color of her eyes. She was around average height of five-six or so. Her long blonde hair framed her milky skin and draped over her shoulders and below in soft, silky waves. She was slim but also had curves in all the right places. His cock went from half-hard to full attention in about three seconds flat, leaving him lightheaded.
Preston sucked in a breath and glanced at his friends when he heard Adam gasp and Jonah moan. They were both looking at the woman he’d just eyed over. He cursed under his breath when Turner blocked his view of the gorgeous female. He wanted to get up and move to the side so he could see her again, but he didn’t want to get caught gawking at her and making her feel uncomfortable. From the way she’d been glancing about and fidgeting, she was already nervous enough without him making her feel even more out of her element.
“I think we just found our fourth,” Adam said in a raspy voice.
“I fucking hope so.” Jonah swallowed audibly as he shifted on his stool.
“I hope you’re right, but—”
“We know, Preston.” Adam scrubbed a hand over his face. “We have to take things slow and not get our hopes up.”
“Preston’s right, Adam.” Jonah clasped Adam’s shoulder and squeezed. “We’ve been fucked over by the opposite sex three times too many.”
“You think I don’t know that?” Adam snapped before taking a deep calming breath and releasing it. “I won’t rush her, but we’re all jumping the gun. She might not even give us the time of day. She might not want anything to do with us. For all we know, she could already be in a relationship.”
His heart stuttered at Adam’s last statement, and he hoped like hell his love was wrong. While Preston knew Adam could be right on more than one account, he prayed to whoever would listen that she was as attracted to them as much as he and his friends were to her.
He wanted that gorgeous woman in his bed, his life, his heart. He wasn’t sure he’d want to keep looking for a significant other if the woman standing next to Ana didn’t feel the sparks he did. Sucking in a deep breath, he tried to curtail the excited anticipation fluttering in his gut. He was jumping the gun and could be setting himself and his partners up for some major disappointment. That sexy woman didn’t even know they existed right now, but if he had his way, she would very, very soon.
* * * *
Lexis wondered what the hell Ana had gotten her into. Her new friend had invited her to go out with her and her men, and while she’d jumped at the chance since she hadn’t been out for a night on the town in months, she hadn’t expected anything like this. When they’d entered the foyer and she’d been handed a sheaf of papers to read over and sign while Ana and her fiancés had signed in, she’d thought they were about to enter a private, elite nightclub. However, her mind had been blown away as she read over the rules. It had taken until she was halfway through the second page of reading all the regulations for the penny to drop. When she’d realized she was about to enter a BDSM club, her belly had started up a nervous, excited roil, and her heart had started racing. Her first instinct was to turn tail and run, but she didn’t want to let Ana down by bailing on her.
Anastasia Gibson was the first friend she’d made since moving to Tigard, Oregon from Lincoln, Nebraska almost six months ago. Lexis had been stunned when she found out Ana had three partners but after she’d gotten over the shock, she’d also been envious. What woman wouldn’t want three men doting on her and seeing to all her needs?
“Good evening, Ana, Devin, Layton, and Gaige.”
Lexis couldn’t help staring at the tall, handsome man who’d issued the greeting. While he was the epitome of a sex god even though he was more than a few years older than her, she wasn’t attracted to the man in the least. Nevertheless, the air of confident authority emanating from him made her nervous, and she couldn’t help shifting from foot to foot.
“Master Turner, it’s great to see you again,” Ana said.
“And you, little one.” Master Turner’s gaze drifted toward Lexis.
She lowered her head, drew in a deep breath as she used her hair to shield the blush creeping into her cheeks.
“Hey Turner,” Devin said as he stepped forward to shake hands.
“Devin.”
Lexis watched from beneath her lowered eyelashes as Layton and Gaige shook hands and swapped greetings with the intimidating man. She almost jumped when Ana hooked her arm through Lexis’s elbow.
“Master Turner, this is my friend, Lexis Thomas.”
“A pleasure, Lexis.” Master Turner held his hand out to her.
Lexis smiled shyly as she took his hand. “Nice to meet you.” She decided not to use his name, since she wasn’t comfortable calling this man Master, and even as she’d thought of calling him Sir, the word hadn’t felt natural in her mind.
“Welcome to the Club of Dominance.” Turner released her hand. “You’ve never been to a BDSM club before.”
Lexis knew her face had to be red, since it felt hot enough to fry an egg on. However, she managed to answer by shaking her head in response.
“You’re in good hands with Ana and her men. I’m sure they’ll explain everything to you. Enjoy your evening, folks.” Turner nodded, spun around, and strolled away.
“Let’s head to the bar, ladies. I’m sure you’d both like a drink.” Devin wrapped an arm around Ana’s shoulders while Layton clasped her hand. Gaige walked beside Lexis, and though she could feel the other man’s gaze on her, she kept her eyes locked to the middle of Ana’s back.
“You didn’t know, did you, Lexis?” Gaige asked.
She shook her head, blushing harder.
“You’re in a lot of trouble, sweetness,” Gaige said.
Ana stumbled as she gazed at Gaige over her shoulder. “What the hell did I do…Sir?”
“You didn’t inform Lexis where we were spending our evening.” Gaige frowned at Ana. “You’ve earned your first punishment of the night.”
Lexis stopped in her tracks, about to tell Gaige to leave Ana alone, but changed her mind when she saw the flush of excited arousal on her friend’s face.
“Yes, Sir.” Ana turned to face the front as they all started walking toward the bar again.
