  The Angel Pack 15

  Fin

The battle the pack have all been waiting for is now upon them. Their enemy advances closer as even the world around them falls to total annihilation.

Jesse and Micah try to grasp the severity of the situation while still keeping everyone safe, but soon learn that is not possible. Pulling on their love for one another in hopes that it will see them through, Micah and Jesse step out onto the field of battle, along with those they love, and hold onto their faith that Fate knew what she was doing when she chose them.

As the battle ensues, many surprises are revealed, but a world of heartbreak shatters their resolve. In the end, will they stand victorious or will Hades win and bring the world to its knees in darkness for eternity?

When all is said and done, when the battle is over and the smoke clears, only one remains standing, in a field of blood, but is it one on the side of good or evil?

To a very special lady who has been with me since day one. Harris Channing. She is not only the wonderfully talented artist who created all my Siren Covers, she is also an amazing author and a beautiful person. When I asked to have my Micah on the cover of this one, Harris pulled through as always. Thank you, Harris.

To my readers. This was probably the hardest Angel Pack book I have ever written. This one tore me apart and left me bleeding on the floor. I spent weeks crying as I wrote it and then again, every time I have had to read it. So, I apologize now for you all having to go through a few boxes of tissues on this one.

I know a lot of you are worried about this being the end of the Angel Pack and have been very vocal about it in emails and on Facebook. I just wanted to let you know, there are still so many others who need to find their mates, so, no, this is not THE END.

  Prologue

“Oh yeah, baby, suck my cock, swallow all of it…yeah, that’s it. Take it all.”

“What the hell are you watching in here, Crew?” Micah’s booming voice echoed through the den.

“Shit! Sorry, Alpha, we um…” Crew stopped as he moaned.

“Do that in your own room, Crew. I don’t want to see your balls all over my couch,” Micah said with a shudder, wrinkling his nose as he stepped into the room then froze.

He had a sense of deja vu about this whole conversation, but before, Crew had been alone. This time, the sight before him had Micah smirking. Instead of Crew jerking off on his couch to a porn DVD, Crew now lay over the pool table with his big Legion mate between his spread legs as Laylen plowed into him, and his other mate, Haven, knelt on the table next to him as he swallowed Crew’s cock deep.

Laylen’s gaze met his, and the angel-demon smiled as he wiggled his eyebrows, but never faltered in his thrusting into his mate.

Micah chuckled as he shook his head. “I came in to tell you to get the others. We’re all heading to the club. And before you say anything, it’s mandatory. That goes for you, Lay, and you, Haven.”

“Oh gods, yes! Oh…okay, Micah. Fuck! Yeah, Lay, right there,” Crew cried out.

“What, no, going to get me some hot twink ass tonight comment?” Micah said teasingly.

Crew’s head snapped in his direction, his eyes showing his shock and horror. “Hell no. Why the fuck would I look for some twink and fuck up what I have with my mates? Have you lost your mind, Micah?”

Micah chuckled. “No, just a conversation I remember having with you once in this very room. Anyway, one hour and we’re all heading to the club,” Micah replied, then turned and walked out of the room. The sounds of skin slapping skin, sucking, and panting fading away behind him.

  Chapter One

Jesse stood before the mirror, staring into his own eyes. Worry lines had begun to form around them, and he could see dark circles starting to appear. With the world around them falling into chaos and hundreds of millions already dead, he just couldn’t fathom it.

The horsemen had been set free on the world, and before they had lost all communication with the outside world, hundreds of volcanoes had erupted, illness had swept the land, governments had been murdered, and people had begun fighting for survival, killing each other in the streets. The last thing they had seen was that Yellowstone and two other supervolcanoes had erupted, and Jesse knew from watching documentaries about it that only one super volcano was enough to send the world into an ice age and kill most of the population.

The ash cloud alone would block out the sun for decades, killing livestock and crops. The oceans and waters of the planet would become polluted and undrinkable. All of this would kill off any remaining animals and millions more humans in the months that followed. The ash that fell from the sky like a blizzard would kill those who ingested it and collapse roofs, crushing others.

Thanks to his father Ryland and the fae, their whole territory had been placed under a dome of sorts. Ryland had gathered all
his fae and using their magic, they created a protective bubble over all of Micah’s land and everyone inside it. Before they had closed it off for good, they had taken in over five hundred thousand paranormal refugees from all over the world. Then, Ryland and his people had used their magic to create apartment buildings wherever they could, to accommodate everyone, as well as magicked up food and supplies. But how long would it all last?

Every day he would go out into the yard, into the darkness, and look up to see if the magic was holding up, and every day he could see that the fallen ash had gotten thicker. A few times, Micah had taken him out to the edge of their lands, and they would look at the devastation around them on the other side of the barrier. Yesterday, the ash had gotten to be at least three feet deep, and Jesse wondered how many people were actually still alive out there? Were they now all alone in here? Were they the last inhabitants of Earth?

Gabriel had tried to use his power of stopping time, and along with Taylor, Shay, Shelby, and Raffy using their powers to boost his, it still didn’t work. Then he, Demi, and Noah had joined in, and it still couldn’t freeze Earth enough to stop what was happening. Phenex believed that Gabriel’s power wasn’t great enough to stop the whole world, just a portion at a time that he was actually present in. And then there was the cause of it all, the horsemen themselves, were probably the biggest factor of why Gabe’s power couldn’t do it. The horsemen were the gods’ creation and made for one thing—the total destruction of the planet. Nothing and no one could stop them from their task.

When the prophecy was originally spoken of and the knowledge that they would have to stand and fight against the evil, no one had been prepared for this. Not this total annihilation of the planet. He could feel the threat of Hades getting closer but had no idea when it would actually come. He just knew it was soon.

And even though they had been placed under this protective barrier, and all others would be kept away from the area by magic, Jesse knew it would not keep Hades out. Would the battle destroy the dome and crush them with the heavy layer of ash before they even had a chance to fight back? No, he had to keep the faith in the gods and his mother. Aurora had given them everything they would need to stand against Hades and win. He needed to keep believing in that. And he needed to keep believing in his family, their allies, and his mate. They would stand together and fight, and either win or die trying.

Jesse took a deep breath and grabbed the can of shaving cream, sprayed some on his hand, then lathered his face. He reached for his razor and lifted his chin, pulling the blade up against his skin. As he did, his thoughts went to Micah, and a smile came to his lips instantly. His mate was the most wonderful man he had ever met, and he really was the luckiest man to have ever lived to have Micah Angel as his. Even if they were to lose and die, at least he had been blessed with spending the last few years of his life with Micah, knowing what real love was.

Tears came to his eyes every time he thought of his mate’s love for him, but they were tears of pure joy and love. He never knew love like he felt for Micah, and the love that Micah gave to him in return, was even possible until he found his mate. He thanked Aurora and the gods every day for Micah. He didn’t know how he had lived the years he had before he met his mate because he couldn’t imagine life without Micah in it.

“Are you okay, baby?” Micah’s soft, sexy voice came to him from the doorway, and Jesse lifted his gaze to find Micah leaning against the doorframe. His gaze met Micah’s in the mirror, and he gave his mate a loving smile.

  “Yes.”

Micah returned the smile and pushed away from the doorframe, then walked toward him, stopped behind him and placed a hand on his nape. “You look so sexy standing here with just a towel wrapped around your hips, your wet hair all brushed back away from your face, hanging loose down your back, and a foamy white beard on your face.”

Jesse chuckled. “It’s the white beard that does it, right?”

Micah leaned in and nibbled on his neck. “Mmmm, definitely the white beard.”

Jesse stood there enjoying his mate’s attention, for a moment just getting lost in the feelings. Gods he couldn’t get enough of his man. “So what’s the plan for tomorrow, love?”

Micah kissed his neck one more time, then looked at him in the mirror. He could see all the stress on Micah’s face, as well, and the worry in his eyes. “I’ve called a meeting of the council and all their seconds as well as each one’s best strategists. I have a feeling this battle is coming soon, and we need to come up with some kind of plan. I know it will be impossible to figure out what Hades will do, especially with magic and powers involved, but I’d like us to start coming up with scenarios and try to formulate a plan.”

“I agree. We can’t be fully prepared, but maybe putting everyone’s heads together will help us come up with something. Do you still think we should keep Phen, Ryland, and Lucifer in the dark about the battle not including them?”

Micah sighed heavily as he rested his chin on Jesse’s shoulder. “I’ve been thinking about that. The prophecy and Aurora said that we would all find our mates and would have to stand together to face this final battle. I know they are thinking that they will be involved because they have been here fighting alongside us every step of the way, but Dante and I believe that’s not the case. And now that Nicco’s mate has returned just as the horsemen have been set free, it makes us believe it even more. Even though others around us have found mates, as well, I think it is just a coincidence and has no bearing on the prophecy, or the battle. You know they will want to be right there by our side, but I still don’t think they are supposed to be. I think that they have been brought in to help us get prepared for what is to come and to be the ones left standing when it’s all over. Like continuation of government.”

Jesse’s eyes went wide, and he turned his head to look at Micah. “So, you don’t think we can win?”

Micah wrapped his arms around Jesse’s waist from behind and hugged him. “That’s not what I’m saying, baby. Yes, I have a few doubts, but it would be irresponsible and foolish of me not to. We are few going up against many. You know Minos and Hades will come with an army of their rogues and Nephilim, and I need to be realistic. There is a good chance we may not be victorious. And even if we are, look at the rest of the world around us. What will be left when all is said and done? Lucifer, Phen, and Ryland would be a strong force of magic and power to lead those who were left,” Micah replied as he slowly carded his fingers through Jesse’s wet hair at the back of his head.

“That’s true. Can you see those left on Earth seeing Lucifer himself as one of their new leaders?” Jesse asked, laughing.

Micah joined in and then kissed Jesse again. “I would want to stick around just to see that.”

The two stood wrapped in each other’s arms for a moment as they thought of what that new world would look like. Then Jesse sighed and said, “I don’t like that they won’t be a part of this though.”

“I know, baby. Neither do I. Let’s get through tonight, then I have the meeting scheduled for first thing in the morning.”

“Do you think this karaoke night of Taylor’s is really a good idea right now? I mean, I know everyone could use a night of just fun and not dwelling on what’s to come, but it seems kind of wrong to me. With what’s going on out there and all those people suffering and dying, should we really be in here having fun?”

Micah tightened his hold and gave Jesse another smile. “I think we should actually. I think we need to destress and reaffirm our bond to one another as well as having one more night of life to remind us of what we are really fighting for.”

Jesse smiled back. “I think you’re right and very smart.”

“Oh yeah, baby? You think I’m smart?” Micah said with a purr.

“I know you’re a freaking genius actually. You were smart enough to love me, right?” Jesse teased.

“Oh, baby, not only was I smart enough to know when I found the best man in the world and make you m
ine, but I was also smart enough to know how truly blessed I am to have found you.”

“Awe, so true,” Jesse replied, and they both laughed.

Micah grabbed his chin and brought Jesse in for a kiss. Jesse turned in his arms and joined in, kissing his mate with all the love he had. When they pulled back, Jesse started really laughing. “What?” Micah asked.

  “Look at you.”

Micah looked in the mirror and chuckled. He had a ring of shaving cream around his mouth and some on his cheek, as well as a hand full, from grabbing Jesse’s chin. “I look pretty good in a goatee. Maybe I should grow one. What do you think?”

“Sure, as long as it’s not that white one you’re sporting now. Makes you look like an old man,” Jesse said with mirth and bit his lip to hold in the laugh.

Micah’s eyes went wide, and he pulled Jesse in tighter. “Old man?”

“Well, you are over three hundred and fifty, so…”

“I’ll show you old man,” Micah growled and claimed Jesse’s lips again.

Jesse’s head began to swim and go fuzzy like it always did when his man kissed him. Micah was such a wonderful lover. So giving and passionate. As Micah’s tongue dueled with his, Jesse’s cock began to fill, and he moved in closer to Micah, rubbing his hard shaft against his mate’s thigh.

“Mmm, is my baby horny now?” Micah asked against his lips as he continued to kiss him.

“Gods yes. I always want you, love. There is nowhere in the world I would rather be than in your arms, beneath you, as you slide inside me,” Jesse whispered breathlessly.
