Love Lives Again Page 10

“So, the DA finally decided to do his fucking job, at least.” Luke sat up and sighed. Jack was blinking at him from the other side of the bed and trying to scrub gunk from his eyes. He eventually gave up and flopped into Luke’s lap to hug him around the waist like a cross between a bear and an octopus.

“Yeah, something like that. But I figured you two would be happy to know that Brock is off the streets and being humiliated on the internet. Not that it fixes what he did, or anything, obviously.” She paused.

“No, it can’t bring my parents back.” Luke looked over at a photo he’d found of the three of them at a county fair when Luke was only ten or eleven. Jack had put it in a frame for him and hung it up on the wall near the drawing with them and Pao. He had done some more sketching recently and was close to being done with a portrait of Jack that he intended to have framed. “But I know they would want to know he couldn’t hurt anyone else, and if he’s in jail, he can’t drive drunk.”

“Very true,” Leslie murmured. “Anyway, I’m sorry for waking you up. Tell Jack hello for me! Hope he’s back to one-hundred percent.”

Luke was running his hand through Jack’s hair, and he looked down and smiled. “Yeah, he’s doing fine. Talk to you later, Leslie.”

  “Yeah! Bye!” she hung up.

“I heard a bit of that. Did she say Brock was arrested?”

“Uh huh. In front of a large crowd at breakfast, and it’s already made its way around the internet. His Swedish model girlfriend posted video immediately, which makes me feel even better about the whole mess, to be honest.”

Jack laughed and sat up. “So… what you’re saying is that we can’t kill Leslie for waking us up at…” he glanced at the clock on the bedside table. “7:30 on Valentine's day, which is also a Saturday.” He rubbed his head. “Why the fuck was he up so early getting breakfast anyway? Aren’t drunks supposed to stay in bed all day?”

“Maybe he didn’t go to bed at all, and they just went for an early breakfast after partying all night. I’ve known more than a few people who behaved that way.”

“Hmm. Guess you’ll have to do some research on how to be the idle rich. Working all night at an anniversary party and then dozing off to reality TV and drooling on your cat doesn’t seem to be the done thing.”

“I’m sorry I’m failing to live up to expectations.” Luke was eyeing Jack’s chest. He’d shaved it after his stint in the hospital since the nurses had shaved patches of it anyway for their monitoring equipment. Luke hadn’t ever particularly cared one way or another if his partners shaved or not, but he was enjoying the clearer view of Jack’s absolutely amazing pecs. “But since we’re awake anyway…”

“It is Valentine’s day.” Jack nodded solemnly.

“And the doctors did say that you were cleared for all normal activities as long as you rested adequately.” Luke reached over and tweaked a nipple. “And you didn’t seem any the worse for wear after that blowjob last night…”

Jack sucked in a breath and crawled over into Luke’s lap, looming over him and already half hard. “I’ll let you drive and won’t exert myself, promise.”

“Mmmm…” Luke leaned up to latch onto Jack’s left nipple. He sucked a bit at it, loving Jack’s quiet pleas and grunts in response. “You want me to lay you down and fuck you all morning?”

“Yesssss….” Jack hissed out, holding Luke’s head to his chest. His grip in Luke’s hair was so tight it was almost painful, but Luke wasn’t complaining. He had left the top long for just this reason. He’d never been into hair pulling before, but there were all kinds of things he hadn’t been into before Jack. He switched to the other nipple and began to abuse it as much as he had the first. Jack grabbed the lube off the nightstand and lubed up two fingers. He prepared himself as quickly as he reasonably could with Luke doing his level best to distract him.

“Shit… I’m ready… in me, now.” Jack grumbled.

“Greedy, aren’t you?” Luke smiled wickedly.

Jack leaned in to kiss him with a lot of teeth and tongue. “Always.”

“I’m going get a towel before we make a mess of the bed again. I want to be able to go back to sleep without cleaning the damn sheets.” Luke nudged him off and scurried into the bathroom, returning with a towel and throwing it down. Jack moved onto the towel, and Luke climbed on top of him, kissing him slowly and sweetly, despite Jack’s attempts to deepen it further.

  “You’re so damn responsible sometimes.”

“And you love me for it.” Luke moved into position and began to slowly slide in. The angle wasn’t great, but Jack wasn’t about to complain. This was, despite the teasing, more about finally reconnecting with Luke than anything else. The week in the hospital had been tough, and the two weeks with Jack’s parents around hadn’t been much better, but they had finally left for home two days ago, and the doctors seemed confident that Jack was in good shape and fully recovered from his ordeal.

Jack whined at the stretch and urged Luke on with a foot. He had missed this. It still didn’t seem real that he’d nearly died. “Hurry up…”

“I told you I was going to spend all day like this.” Luke grinned at him, expression wicked.

“You’re a menace…” Jack hissed as Luke shifted and began a slow drag across his prostate.

  “Yes, but I’m your menace.”
