Soul-Mates Forever Page 9

by Vicki Green

I’m puttering around the kitchen the next morning making breakfast and humming. I’m really worried about leaving tomorrow for New York and leaving my beauty here. I know Marcus will be here by tomorrow afternoon and is staying until I get back, but I just wish she was going with me. I don’t want to be away from her, not even for a minute. She’s soon to join me in the kitchen, and the breakfast is burnt as we can’t keep our mouths and hands off each other. This just reaffirms how hard it will be for me to leave her. Not helping! After cleaning up the destroyed breakfast and its mess, we make love in the shower and then wash each other, making sure not one tiny speck of each other’s bodies is left unclean. After that, we’re starving. There’s a pond about 100 feet from our back deck, so we decide we would walk there and have a picnic and make today just for us. Pax is packing a picnic basket while I grab a couple of blankets and pack a cooler. We headed down around noon, walking hand in hand, like two sick lovebirds. Well, I guess we are. I laid the blankets out, side by side, and set the cooler next to us. We’re lying down on our sides facing each other, and I’m feeding my beauty grapes while we talk.

I pop a grape in her mouth and watch as she chews and licks her lips. Fuck, I’m hard again. I want her so bad all the time! “So, I know you probably don’t like to talk about it, but tell me about you as a child,” she says reaching for a grape. She places it in my mouth, and I hold onto her finger with my mouth. She smiles and pulls until I release it with a pop.

“There’s not much to tell, really. Mom and Dad were druggies so I pretty much grew up fast. One day I found dad dead from an overdose. I think I was about seven then and of course years later I turned in my mom when she was drugged out of her mind. I had just turned sixteen. I got into all kinds of trouble with the kids I hung out with in Junior High. But once I broke free of them, I got on the right track.” I look down and got another grape from the baggie.

Her hand reaches to my hair and brushes some away from my eyes and sighed. The look on her face was not of pity but of concern. “That must have been tough. No parents to teach you things you needed to know. No one to be there for you, I don’t know how you survived. I admire you.”

I laugh. “Oh, I don’t think you should admire me. The bad crowd I ran around with sold drugs, so, no. Luckily I had enough sense not to sell to anyone, I couldn’t take it if someone were to overdose or go to prison because of me but I can’t say I was an angel. I’m definitely not someone you should admire.”

She grabs the baggie and takes my hand. “Hey! Tons of people don’t have great childhoods and don’t amount to anything when they grow up. You did. That’s something you should be proud of. Really!”

My heart is full of pride all right. Pride and love for her. I pull her hand and lean in, kissing her full lips, and she melts into me. She moans, and that makes me even harder. I lean into her causing her body to lay down, and I am on her in seconds. My hand slides under her tank top, gliding up her stomach and under her bra. I roll her nipple with my thumb, which elicits another moan from her deep into my mouth. My cock can hardly contain itself as it grows to an unbearable size instantly. I release her mouth and move down her body until I am in between her legs, which spread so nicely for me. I look up to see her watching me, her eyes filled with desire, and I unbutton her jean shorts and slide down the zipper, slowly. She licks her lips. My hands pull her shorts and panties down until they are off her beautiful body. I start to bend down as I can’t wait to taste her luscious pussy when I hear a sound. My head whips up to see a man walking towards us. I quickly grab the end of the blanket and throw it over her, and she sits up in alert.

I jumped up and stand in front of her, crossing my arms, an instant scowl covering my face. As the man draws closer, I get a good look at him. What the fuck?

“My apologies to you both. I took the liberty of walking around when no one answered the bell. I hope you don’t mind,” he says with a smile.

He stands a few feet away now and I want to kick his ass. “What the fuck are you doing here? Didn’t know you got out.” I sneer. Throwing his head back, he laughs. Still laughing he takes a step towards us.

I raise my hand out showing him to stop right the fuck there. “Hold the fuck back, Darndage. You’re not welcome here. I suggest you leave while you can still walk on your own,” I growl.

He takes a step back, smiling the whole time, and crosses his arms across his chest. “Now. Now. Tsk, tsk. Is that any way to talk to an old buddy?” I growl again and start to take a step, but Pax puts her arm through mine and tugs on it, holding me back. “Ah! The girlfriend. Paxton was it?” Her head turns to me in a flash, my confusion apparent. She looks back at him and nods her head.

“I never gave you my name, asshole.” She looks back at me. “Who the fuck is this?” She looks back at him, removes her arm from around mine and crosses her arms over her chest, “What do you want? This is private property and you were not invited.” My beauty kicks ass.

Holding up his hands in surrender, he begins to walk backwards. “Hey, no need to get pissy, woman.” He looks at me and points. “Better keep your woman back, Williams. You know what can happen.” He looks at Pax and smiles. “I’d hate to see anything happen to someone…” His eyes roam up and down her body and then returns to her face. “So lovely.”

I literally have to wrap my arms around Pax as she starts to take off after him. He’s walking faster and turns to walk forward but yells over his shoulder, “I’ll be seeing you around. It was a pleasure seeing you again, Paxton. Will see you soon.”

I look at Pax in confusion, her eyes wide and her brows knitted together. By the time I look back at Darndage he’s gone. I turn to my beauty and cup her face with both of my hands. “What did he mean, Pax? When was he here?” The look on her face told me she was afraid to say. “It’s ok, beauty. You can tell me.”

“He… He came by when Lana and I were getting ready to come to the bar Friday night. I’d forgotten all about it. I was going to tell you. I was. Honest. I’m sorry,” she says, her lip quivering.

I take her in my arms. Her head buries in my chest, her arms wrapping around my waist and up my back. “It’s ok. It will be ok. But I think you need to know a little more of my past now. Come on.” I break away and start gathering up the food and placing it in the cooler. I look over and see her pulling up one of the blankets and folding it. “I’m not mad or anything. I know you would have told me.” I give her my best smile, all the while I am nervous as hell inside.

  Chapter Ten

I can’t believe I forgot to tell him. Dammit! With everything that happened Friday and Saturday, I just forgot. Idiot! We walked back to the house in silence. He opens the back sliding door for me and follows me in. Once we set everything down in the kitchen, I turn to him, leaning my hands behind me on the counter. “I swear I was going to tell you. He showed up, introduced himself and well…” I look down afraid to tell him.

His hand brings my head back up by my chin, tenderly. “What beauty? What happened?” He bends down and looks me in the eyes a concerned look covering his face. “Tell me everything that happened. It’s important.”

After releasing my chin, he takes my hand and takes me to the nearest chair. He sits and pulls me onto his lap. I take a deep breath, letting it out slowly. “He introduced himself. Said he was an old friend and couldn’t wait to catch up.” I look at him to find him frowning. “I went to shake his hand and he…” I take another deep breath. “He kissed the top of my hand.” He seems pretty calm and then I jump when he slams his fist on the table and yells, “Fuck!” Ok. That can’t be good.

He looks at me quickly. “Sorry! Sorry, beauty.” He wraps both arms around me and holds me tight. “Ok, here’s the thing. I put him away. In prison.” He’s watching me to see my reaction, but I don’t know how to react. “It was about five years ago. I was helping to get customers for him and his idiot pawns to sell drugs for him. Bad crowd, remember?” The only thing I can do is nod. He clears his thr
oat. “Well, I ran into Shane one day at the local hangout and he started talking to me about my tattoos. Said they were really great and asked who did them. After I told him I did, he asked me if I wanted a job where he worked, creating and applying tattoos.” He has a far off look as he rubs my arm and continues. “I wanted out of my bad life, in the worst way. I’d had enough and wanted to get on the straight and narrow, ya know?”

I start rubbing the back of his neck and smile. He seems to look at me for a bit, kisses me quickly and smiles back. “I needed to come clean so I told him everything. He was a great listener and really, he saved my life. He went with me to the police and I told them everything. They gave me a bargain that if I stayed clean and helped them catch Darndage and provide a statement so he can pay for his crimes, they would let me go.” He looks at me again, and I think he is embarrassed but yet proud. “So, we set up a meeting place and I just had to get him there. With everything I told the police, I just had to get him to try to give me some drugs to sell. I was nervous because I didn’t really sell the stuff for him so I wasn’t sure if he’d fall for it. He was pretty skeptical, at first, but it went off pretty well except he threatened to kill me once he was out. I didn’t think it would be this soon and to tell you the truth? I had forgotten all about him, after I met you.” He gives me that fuck hawt dimpled smile I love so much.

I take his face in my hands and kiss him. He doesn’t hesitate to kiss me back with so much emotion. It’s hard to break away, because I don’t want to, but we need to figure this out. I lean back and look deep into his eyes. “I think we should call Shane, maybe see if we can go over there and tell him everything that’s happened. I think he needs to know and maybe he’ll know what to do.” He nods and kisses me again.

About another hour later we are sitting in the living room in Shane and Allie’s condo. Tuck and I are holding hands, sitting on the couch and Allie is holding my other one. Shane is pacing the floor in front of the coffee table, scratching his chin with a deep frown on his face.

“I think maybe I should call Stiles in on this. He’s back from vacation and called me the other day. He’s the best man to get involved,” Shane says reaching for his phone. I remember Detective Stiles from when he helped Shane and Allie from her crazy ex-lover.

Stiles was there in a matter of minutes. We sat there as Tuck and Shane recounted the entire situation that happened so long ago. I watched as Tuck explained what all happened with me and our meeting today. Stiles wasn’t located here at the time five years ago, but he said he would dig up the files and study them. He said we should be careful with our surroundings and if anything suspicious turns up to call him immediately. I hate to admit it, but I’m a little freaked out about this whole thing even more so now.

The drive back to our house is quiet. My eyes can’t help but shift to him often trying to gauge his mood. He looks deep in thought. We finally pull into the garage, the automatic door closing as we get out of the car. I shut the door, turn and am pulled into his warm embrace.

“If anything ever happens to you, I…” He whispers into my ear. “I’d never forgive myself. I can’t…” He stops himself by kissing me so hard and so deep that I can’t catch my breath. We stop, and he cups my face in his strong hands. “I can’t live without you, beauty. I would die for you.” Tears are trying to break free from my eyes, but I must be strong for him. For us. “I’m calling off the New York trip.”

He tries to turn away but I grip his arm, his head moves back to look at me. “No! No, you can’t, Tuck. We can’t let him live our lives for us, dictate what we do and where we go. We can’t. Marcus will be here in the afternoon tomorrow and will be here until you get back. I’ll be fine. Please don’t cancel. You need to go.”

He turns fully and captures my mouth once again. His kisses travel from my lips to my cheek, temple and stays on my forehead. “I love you, my beauty. I love you so much.” He looks searchingly into my tear filled eyes. “Ok, I’ll go but…” I nod, shakily. “I’m dropping you off at Allie’s on the way to the airport, ok? You can call Marcus and tell him where to pick you up in his rental car, ok?” I take a deep breath and nod more assuredly now. He kisses my forehead. “That’s my girl.”

  * * *

We are sitting in the car the next morning in Shane and Allie’s driveway, making out heavily. Fuck, I don’t want to leave her. “Come with me.” Kiss. “Please.” Kiss. “I don’t want to leave you.” Kiss. Kiss. Our kissing becomes more as she pulls her luscious mouth away. I want to make long, sweet, love to her. Right now!

She pushes my chest, gently. “You’d better go or you’ll miss your flight,” she says in hesitation. She looks down and then raises her eyes to mine, putting on a fake smile. “Seriously, you need to go. The sooner you leave and get all your business done, the sooner you’ll come back to me.” Her eyes become glassy and a lone tear leaks from one eye. I rub it away with my thumb and kiss her pouty lips. Fuck, this is making it harder to leave her.

Pressing my forehead against hers, I let out a sigh. “I don’t want to leave you.” I kiss her forehead and pull my head back so I can look into her eyes again. “Ok. I’m going, but I’ll call you constantly. It will be like I’m just at work, but longer.” I sigh again. “Just make sure you stay safe, make sure Marcus takes care of you and don’t take any chances, ok?” I kiss her long and hard until she pulls away, smiles sadly and gets out of the car. I slowly back out of the driveway as I watch Shane and Allie come out the front door to meet her. Allie wraps her arms around my now crying beauty, and I can’t bear to watch anymore. I drive down the street trying not to look back and head for the airport. This is gonna be the longest four days of my entire life.

So, I may have texted my beauty about a dozen times before and after I got on the plane. Fuck! I miss her already. How in the hell can someone get so under my skin, in my heart and soul, so fast? I guess when it’s your soul-mate and meant to be it just happens. She’s such a part of me now, like the air that I breathe.

I’m in my very lonely hotel room that night and flipping channels on the T.V. Pax and I have already talked for over an hour, and I want to call her again and talk more. She asked about my day, and I told her what a jam packed day I had. I met with the charity coordinator and went over half the schedule. We have to go over the rest tomorrow and the next day we will go look at the room where the charity is being held to check out the equipment for the band and the set up. It was boring as hell. I seriously need to hire someone to do all this for us. Fuck!

I start to doze off when I hear a knock on my door. I check the alarm clock, and it’s after eleven. Who the hell can that be? I get up, throw my t-shirt back on, walk to the door and open it. There stands someone I seriously did not want to see. What in the fuck is he doing here? “Mr. Davenport.”

He clears his throat and shakes his head. “May I…?” He clears his throat again and stands up straighter. “May I come in?” I stand back and throw my arm out into the room. He walks in, looks around the room and turns to me abruptly. We stand there in awkward silence for what seemed like way too long.

“So, what brings you to New York and more importantly to my hotel room?” I ask with a scowl on my face. Fuck, this is all I need.

He walks over to me, looks me straight in the eyes, stopping right within inches of me. I cross my arms over my broad chest and puff it up a bit. I’m not scared of you, motherfucker.

“You took my daughter away from me. I can’t say that I’m not pissed about that but I understand. She’s beautiful, talented, smart and a body that all men want. And you knocked me out in the process.” Ok, he’s starting to tick me the hell off. He pulls out a wad of cash from his dress pants and starts counting. He looks up to me and sneers. “What will it take to leave her alone and bring her back to me and leave her life forever? Come on. You all have a price. What’s yours?” Is he fucking kidding?

Yeah, I don’t have a lot of patience for assholes, so I hit him square in the nose. Blood pou
rs out as he drops his money and covers his nose with his hands, yelling like a stupid banshee. Powderpuff. He lets go of his nose with one hand, pulls out a handkerchief and covers his nose with it, blood seeping from it.

“You’ll pay for this! And I don’t mean with money, son! That’s the second time you’ve fucking hit me!” He says muffled by the cloth. He heads for the door, but I push against it with my hand. With his hand on the doorknob, he looks at me, his blood stained handkerchief still pushed against his nose with the other.

I look down as I tower over him by about four inches. “I’m NOT your son,” I growl. I open the door and give him a shove into the hallway. Well, that certainly was not fucking fun. I head to bed feeling a little proud of myself.

  Chapter Eleven

Marcus and I are having a blast! After he arrived, we went shopping, to a movie, and then we sat around in our jammies talking most of the night. I had a very hard time getting to sleep once I had talked to my sexy rocker for over an hour while lying in bed, especially when we had phone sex. Damn, didn’t know I could cum just from the sound of his voice and my hand! I miss him so much! The bed seems ten times bigger without him here snuggled up behind me. It’s cold between my thighs where his hand likes to lay at night. I should have gone with him, but then I wouldn’t be able to get his surprise done.
